REINER USED HIS GEAR TO jump down where Eren and Ymir were. "What's going on, Reiner? Aren't we waiting until night?" Eren asked.

"Nope. We're leaving now. Eren, don't try to resist." Reiner responded.

"Come on, don't get violent with me. Look at the shape that I'm in. Does it look like I can resist? Please, gimme a break." Eren said as he then threw a punch at Reiner, repeatedly punching him with his nubs and repeating the word "die." Until Reiner kicked him off and then grabbed him.

"I'll kill you! I'll slaughter you!" Eren exclaimed as Bertholdt flew down next to Ymir. "I'll kill you!"

"Hey. Why are we leaving already?" Ymir questioned as Eren kept fighting back in the background.

"Ymir. When you turned back into a human, do you remember the person you ate?" Bertholdt asked.

"No, I don't remember... But if it was five years ago... Was it one of your comrades?" Ymir asked.

Bertholdt's silence was all that Ymir needed as she looked down. "I see... Sorry... for not even remembering." Ymir said.

"It's not your fault for forgetting. It was the same for us, too." Bertholdt stated.

"I see..."

"Eren doesn't seem to remember either."

"Is that how it works?" Ymir asked. "Do you resent me for it?"

"I'm not sure... I... don't know. You probably didn't want to eat a human either... How long were you wandering outside the walls for?" Bertholdt questioned.

"About 60 years." Ymir answered. "It was like... I was stuck in a nightmare that would never end."

Meanwhile, a red flare signal appeared in the sky. "A red smoke signal." A soldier informed.

Erwin fired a green smoke signal to change direction as two more red smoke signals appeared.

"Commander! We're surrounded!"

"There's another way around! Should we head towards it?"

More red smoke appeared. "No... Any detours and we'll be too late. We'll force our way through! All soldiers, prepare for battle!" Erwin ordered.

Reiner and Bertholdt were using their ODM gear as Reiner had Eren strapped to his back while Bertholdt was carrying Ymir.

"For now, let's get to a place without Titans! We need to get as far away as possible! My Titan form isn't very fast. If I get surrounded, I won't be able to protect you guys!" Reiner informed.

"Then why didn't we just wait until nightfall?!" Ymir exclaimed as she looked back to see the Scouts were getting closer. "Smoke signals? Did the Scouts come to rescue us?"

"Unless they brought loads of horses over the wall, that scouting formation won't work." Reiner informed before turning back around. "Someone made that call... I didn't think it would happen so soon. It must be Commander Erwin. A tough opponent!" Reiner exclaimed as more green smoke appeared in the sky.

"Shit... They're already that close? It's Eren's fault for going berserk." Reiner said as Ymir widened his eyes when she noticed someone familiar.

"Reiner! Christa's here! Christa came with them!" She told him.

"Huh?!"

"If you want her, now's the chance!"

"How do you know? You can't see her from here!"

"I just know it! She's such a good-natured person, it's stupid! I guarantee she came to save me! I know it!" Ymir replied.

"Even if that's true, it's no use! We'll do it later!" Reiner informed.

"Huh?!"

"Our chance of succeeding is way too low! How will you get Christa out of that formation? Wait for a chance!" Reiner told her.

"Wait for a chance? Seriously? Will that be after I'm eaten by one of your warriors? No! I don't trust you!" Ymir shouted.

"Trust me! Christa is indispensable to us, too!"

"Then get her now! Go prove it to me this instant! It has to be now or never! I want to see her right now! At this rate... I'll never get a chance... to see her again."

"It's impossible." Bertholdt spoke up. "I'm sorry, Ymir. We don't even know if we can escape ourselves, let alone go back for her."

"I promise you! If anyone, it's Christa I want to save from this conflict! You have to trust us! So just bear with it!" Reiner shouted. "This is for Christa's own sake! Got it, Ymir?!"

"Is it... really for Christa's sake?"

"Yeah!"

"Fine..."

"Thank you."

They continued on through the forest. "In this environment, I'm the strongest one here." Ymir spoke up.

Ymir then grabbed onto Bertholdt's face. "Q-Quit it, Ymir!" Bertholdt begged.

"Don't you think a forest like this is where I can shine the most? Well?" Ymir questioned as Bertholdt almost crashed into a tree, but used his gear to make sure he didn't fall.

"Ymir! Stop! We'll fall!" Bertholdt informed.

"Do you think I care? If I become a Titan, I might be powerless compared to you, but I can jump through the trees and move swiftly. I could snatch Eren away from you and go back to meet up with the Scouts... and probably succeed." Ymir informed as both Reiner and Bertholdt landed on some trees.

"If you don't agree to take Christa with you right now, I'll get in your way and fight you right here." Ymir finished.

"Wh-What are you saying?! Don't you care what happens to her?!" Reiner exclaimed. "We can't help her that way!"

"Yeah, that's fine. Even if it means taking her future away, I'll do whatever it takes to live and meet her. I might be the shittiest person there ever was. You guys don't know what it's like. She knows how awful I am, and yet she still smiles at me... that girl." Ymir stated.

"You..."

"Don't be mad at me. I have a plan for it. If I stay and fight, it should be easier for you to escape anyways! Or would you rather stay and kill each other?! Do you want me to prove how crazy I am?!" Ymir shouted.

The Scouts had eventually reached the forest when suddenly, yellow lightning had hit the ground.

"A light?" Mikasa questioned.

"Straight ahead in the forest! I saw a light!" Armin informed. "It's the light that appears when a Titan transforms!"

"Then we're just in time. Soldiers, disperse!" Erwin ordered as the Scouts headed their separate ways.

"We believe the enemy has already transformed! Locate Eren and recover him!"

A Military Police soldier was grabbed as Sasha could only look back as he was devoured.

"Another one of the Police!" Jean exclaimed.

"Battle is not our objective! Prioritize recovery and retreat!" Erwin said.

"Phil! Round up the horses!" Hannes ordered.

"Yes, sir!" Phil responded as the Garrison soldiers headed up using their ODM gear.

"First thing is to find the enemy and let the others know! They should be fleeing from the forest!" Hannes said. "Break!"

The Scouts went their separate ways as a hideous roar could be heard throughout the forest as Josiah went past Armin.

"Is that the scream of a Titan?"

"It came from ahead!"

Up ahead, they saw the Jaw Titan on some trees as the soldiers took out their blades.

"You can't hide from me!"

"Wait!" Connie called out as he attached himself to the tree. "This is Ymir! She's the one they took! In Titan form!"

He then turned to Ymir. "Hey, Ymir! Why are you the only one here?!" Connie asked as Ymir turned away. "Where's Eren?! What about Reiner?! Bertholdt?!"

Armin, Jean, Josiah, Mikasa, and Sasha attached themselves to the trees.

"So that's Ymir?" Armin asked himself.

"Did she turn into a Titan and fight with Reiner?!" Mikasa questioned.

"Ymir? Did you get away from Reiner?! Where are they?!" Jean asked.

"Tell us anything, Ymir!" Sasha called out.

"Say something already!" Connie exclaimed as he flew up on her shoulder. "Hey, ugly! We're in a hurry!"

Connie stomped her head as she looked away. "Is she keeping an eye out for Reiner?" Armin wondered before he widened his eyes.

"Something's not right. Why... is she looking at everybody one by one?" Armin asked himself.

"Ymir!"

Ymir looked over and spotted Historia using her gear to fly towards her. "Thank goodness! You're all right!" She exclaimed, but was shocked when Ymir opened her mouth to trap Historia inside.

The others could only stare in shock. "No..." Sasha mumbled.

"She..." Connie trailed off as Ymir ran off. "She ate Christa!"

Ymir flew from tree to tree as Jean went after her. "Don't just stand there! Chase her!" He called out as Armin, Josiah, and Mikasa followed his lead.

"She's fast! We're losing her!" Jean shouted.

"Why would Ymir do that?!" Mikasa questioned.

"I can't be the only one who could've guessed it would turn out this way!" Jean shouted.

"Yeah! She's clearly hostile to us now! Looks like she's cooperating with Reiner! She lured us right in!" Armin said.

Ymir eventually led them to Reiner and Bertholdt, who were sitting on top of a branch. "Here she comes, Reiner." Bertholdt informed.

"Right." Reiner stood up and took out a knife before slicing his hand and transforming.

The Armored Titan took off as Bertholdt used his gear to jump down with Eren placed on his back. He attached himself onto Reiner as Ymir jumped onto his back.

Jean, Armin, Josiah, and Mikasa could only stare in shock as they watched Reiner run off.

"Don't stop!" Hannes informed as he attached himself to a tree. "Get on your horse and chase!"

All of them did so as they began going after Reiner.

"I'm getting him back no matter what! Even if it means trading my life for it!" Hannes claimed.
