Corey was once again, alive and of course he wasn't really thrilled about it. At least not fully anyways, sure he wasn't like dead but he was once again, cursed to endure once another bittersweet tragedy. It was like his life was just an endless loop of chaos and death, and he had no escape.
He honestly had no idea how he got from point a to point b anymore these days. His body was being crushed as he was pushed into the booth. Why was this thing so small? He had no idea. Everyone surrounded him piles of fries and burgers coating the table top. "Okay so you technically like almost died and now we're all sitting here, at this like really creepy diner, eating burgers and fries?".
Corey chuckled slightly at Mindys words the girl looking at him with an unreadable expression. "If that's your way of asking, if you made it into the final girl squad, shit sorry kid, but you didn't. You're the core four, whatever that lame shit is".
Chad gasped dramatically "hey man! You can't say that! I'll have you know the core four is not lame! You're basically saying we're all lame". Corey chuckled slightly "I forget you're like rather protective of your precious core four Chad. But here's an fyi, the final girl squad was first, I made it way back in like 1996, so... I like win".
Chad huffed slightly "that was decades ago old man! We're the new and improved thing, the core four is in and the final girl squad is out!". Corey threw a fry at Chads face making everyone laugh loudly "you can't just sacrifice a fry Mr.Becker!".
Corey smiled at Tara "you gotta stop calling me that kid, I feel like at this rate we're at first name bases, I feel old when you call me Mr, I'm not that old".
Tara chuckled "you're like fifty aren't you? So technically you are pretty old". Corey's eyes widen "hey! I'm not fifty, I'm like forty four! That's not even remotely close to fifty".
He looked around at everyone "right? Like forty four isn't even that old, I feel like sixty is at least and I'm not even close to that yet. I'm not that old, I mean Gales older then me so she's the definition of being old, not me".
"Corey" he shrugged his shoulders at Sidney as he grabbed a fry off his plate "just saying, I'm not old and Gale is, I mean we were teenagers when she was like almost thirty I think, so maybe she's sixty and just has really good skin care products".
He leaned back into the seat as he shoved a bunch of fries into his mouth. His phone buzzed loudly making him sigh deeply as he grabbed a hold of it. "I feel like Gale knows when I'm talking about her, because she's literally calling me right now, I feel like I should dramatically gasp or something?".
He picked the call up pushing it against his ear "hey Gale, why are you calling me so late?". He started to climb out of the booth "ow! You kicked me".
Corey held in his laugh as he looked at Chad "sorry" he whispered it as he walked outside. "You're like really bad at being not so obvious, I got your message by the way".
Corey huffed "I didn't think you'd call now! It's like four in the morning where you are, I checked, had to make sure I had a few hours of self loathing before you called me in the morning".
"Well I was already awake, so you're stuck with me for a few minutes before I pass out, I was rather surprised when I saw you wanted to write a book! I mean shit Corey, that's something like pretty big, and also something you said you'd never do".
Corey leaned into the wall of the diner "well times change, and I guess nearly dying again made me realize. Not everyone knows my side of the story, shit I mean half of what I've seen online is bullshit, apparently I'm the one who made Samatha go crazy last year and made her inspired by me. So she started just cutting up people and killing them".
He sighed deeply "the world doesn't know the truth Gale, let's face it your books aren't true either, I do not have abandonment issues". Gale laughed "you're still going on about that, I wrote that book like eleven years ago, seriously it's true though, you do have abandonment issues, it's like major".
"Gale, I just want people to know the truth... I'm forty four years old, and everyone in the world knows who I am, but they don't know the real me. I knew you'd be the only person who would understand why I wanna write this book, I don't want people looking at me like I'm some freak, if they knew me, the real me, maybe they wouldn't look at me like that anymore".
"So, when do you wanna start writing?" Corey blinked slowly "right now, I won't tell Sidney about it until the books done, I don't wanna ruin it all. We both know her book helped her heal in a way I never will, she doesn't need to worry about this, so don't tell her".
"Hey don't worry, I'm not gonna tell her, so what made you finally decide to join the book squad? Cause I feel like you're trying to steal my thunder a little bit here Corey". Corey laughed "you haven't written a book in years Gale, you should just enjoy your life with Dewey, be happy for once. Don't worry about writing a book this time, I'll do it for you".
"Okay, but I gotta ask. What the hell are you gonna name this book? Because the last time you joked about making a book, you said you were gonna call it "Corey Beckers guide on how to survive a asshat in a mask" which by the way is rather obscure if you ask me. Could've gone with something simple like I don't know "Corey Becker" or literally anything other then that name".
Corey chuckled slightly as he looked at Sidney through the window of the diner. She smiled at him softly as he waved at her "uh I have an idea, but you're probably gonna hate it, and promise it's nothing cursed, it's a good one".
"Alright then, I'm all ears, what's your grand idea for your book title?". Corey looked at Sidney for a long time his eyes remembering every single line on her face as she stood up from the booth and approached the doorway. She looked beautiful as she slowly pushed the door open, the cold air hitting her making her hair fly back slightly.
"Bittersweet Tragedy by Corey Becker Prescott" he looked at Sidney with wide eyes as he smiled at her "That's a beautiful name Corey. I'll see you soon" the call ended and Corey put his phone into his back pocket. "Sid, you didn't have to follow me out here".
She smiled softly as she held onto Corey "and let you handle Gale all by yourself? Yeah right". He chucked "that obvious who it was on the call?" She nodded as she hugged his side. "No one else would call you at this hour, what did she want?".
He sighed slightly as he ran his fingers through Sidney's hair "just wanted to see if we were okay, I told her we were and that we'd visit soon". Sidney smiled as she leaned into Corey "I love you Corey, I know everything's been so hectic these last few weeks, and I just feel like I haven't said that enough".
He smiled "Sidney I know you love me, and I love you too, I wanna be with you until we're old and surrounded by grandkids, or even dogs".
She chuckled slightly "you're really something else Corey, sometimes I think to myself, how'd I get so lucky to have you in my life. Most of it was me running around trying to survive and escape all of this, I just want us to rest for once".
Corey gripped Sidney's face "hey, we will, don't worry I'm not gonna let some asshole in a mask come for us again, I'm telling you this is the last time, and I genuinely mean it. I don't think anyone else will come for us, our times finally up for this all".
He looked through the window "but I'm worried about Samatha, I don't want her going down this path like we did, she's having the same life we did when we were that age. Scared and confused because someone decided they wanted to kill us".
He sighed deeply "I can't just let her life be ruined, none of there's, they're good kids and they don't deserve any of this". Sidney smiled sadly "none of us do Corey, we all deserve normal life's and I'll do my best to make sure that happens, but Corey you can't worry about her, she's not your responsibility, none of them are, we saw how brave they are. They would wanna handle this on there own".
He blinked "no, I don't think I would let them, I'm gonna pay for Tara's college tuition, make sure she gets a normal life, I'll let Sam stay with us, they'll both be happy and safe. I know Mindy and Chad are good kids too, but I don't know, we're not that close".
He looked at Tara and Sam who sat beside one another "I'm gonna do everything in my power to make sure those two girls are happy, because they deserve it". Sidney held onto Corey's hand "you see yourself in her don't you?".
Corey looked at Sam "all the time, and it scares me.. I don't want her cursed to the life I had". He looked at Sidney "I'll make sure she has a normal life. Both of them" Sidney smiled brightly.
"You're a good person Corey Becker. Never forget that" he kissed her holding onto her tightly as she leaned into him. He let out a heavy breath as he leaned into her forehead "I won't, I promise".

The inside of the small bookshop was beautifully lit up by the sun that shined outside the window. Each chair was lined up in rows and every single seat was taken. In the back one chair remained empty, with a piece of paper lining the middle of it.
Reserved for Si...
The name was smudged, the building old and ruined as fire consumed it whole. Each bookshelf slowly melted away into piles of ashes as the door chimed and chimed, until the sound screeched.
Along the floor laid book after book, each piece burnt the name on it, unrecognizable. "Local woodsboro residents claim no one saw who started the fire, just that it happened days before supposed fellow resident, Corey Becker Prescott was set to have a signing for his new book. It's been over three years since the incident in New York City, and yet ever since his announcement of his book tour, no one's heard word of him since he's returned to woodsboro. Residents claim no one has seen or heard from Corey Becker Prescott since the morning of his arrival last month. His wife Sidney Prescott is allegedly missing as well, no one knows the current whereabouts of these two, but reports are saying, it's possible they could be dead. Local residents Samantha and Tara Carpenter are the last known people to have been seen with them before there disappearance...."
The television clicked off loudly, the figure sat down in front of it. Blood dripped down the cracks of there mask as they let out a heavy breath. Beneath the mask there lips rose into a smirk.
