Chapter - 24

Eunwoo and Jaehyun sat in Jungkook's room, studying for their math exams. Eunwoo was busy solving a complex equation, furrowing his brows in concentration. Jaehyun, on the other hand, was struggling with a similar problem, scratching his head in confusion.

Suddenly, Jungkook playfully smacked Jaehyun on the arm. "Yah, what was that for?" Jaehyun exclaimed, looking at Jungkook in confusion.

"How many times do I have to tell you that's not the right method?" Jungkook scolded, pointing to Jaehyun's incorrect approach to solving the math problem. Jaehyun's eyes widened in realization, understanding that he needed to rethink his strategy. Eunwoo chuckled at the exchange, grateful for Jungkook's guidance as they continued to tackle their math studies together.

"Sorry I-" Jaehyun started, but was interrupted by a knock on the door.

Jungkook stood up and walked towards the door. As he opened it, a sudden sharp pain shot through his face as a fist collided with his nose. The impact was intense, causing a wave of dizziness to wash over him as he stumbled backward and crashed to the ground, his hands instinctively flying to his face.

"God, Tae! We said we have to talk, not kill!" Jimin exclaimed, his voice filled with shock and concern as he rushed to Jungkook's side. Jungkook's nose throbbed with excruciating pain, a sharp, pulsating ache that made his vision blur for a moment. Tears welled up in his eyes from the sheer intensity of the sensation as he struggled to regain his composure, his hands trembling as he tried to assess the damage.

Jungkook held his bleeding nose, his frustration evident in his gaze as he looked at them. His mind raced, trying to understand the reason for Taehyung's attack this time.

"Hyung, is it fun to almost kill him every time you come to his room?" Eunwoo asked, his voice tinged with concern.

"Every time?" Y/N asked, confusion evident on her face as she tried to make sense of what he meant by that. Jungkook winced in pain, still reeling from the unexpected blow, as the room filled with tension and unanswered questions.

"Yeah... last time, he hung him in the air because he rejected yo- "

"I dare you to complete that sentence," Taehyung warned, his tone icy as he cut Jaehyun off, daring him to divulge the full story of his past actions that almost resulted in harm to Jungkook.

"Whatever, we have more important things to discuss," Y/N interjected, sensing the tension in the room and swiftly changing the subject to diffuse the escalating conflict. Taehyung and Jaehyun exchanged a wary glance, the unspoken tension lingering in the air as they shifted their focus to the pressing matters at hand.

"What important thing?" Jungkook asked, his voice slightly muffled as he wiped his nose with a tissue.

"The-" Y/N began, but Taehyung interrupted, his tone sharp and accusatory. "It's you who should tell about it. Just answer a simple question. What will you get by killing the students?"

Jungkook looked up, his expression a mix of confusion and frustration. "I don't know what made you think that I am the killer. Anyway, it's not me," he stated, his voice firm but tinged with a hint of defensiveness.

"Then why did you tell me 'not everyone who dies is innocent'?" Y/N questioned, a hint of skepticism in their voice.

"Because they deserve to die," Jungkook spat, his words sharp and filled with a chilling resolve.

"Let me guess the reason. Is it because they bullied Sooya & she suicided because of it?" Taehyung probed, his tone accusatory.

"You think it's suicide?" Jungkook shot back, a glint of uncertainty flashing in his eyes.

"It is," Taehyung confirmed, his voice firm as they delved into the unsettling truth behind Sooya's tragic fate.

"It's not, they killed her. And now someone is taking revenge for it, which I wanted to do for a long time," Jungkook interrupted, his voice filled with determination and anger.

"What nonsense. It's just a sui-" Taehyung began to interject, but Jungkook cut him off, unwilling to entertain any doubts.

"Believe whatever you want. But the truth is, they took her life away, and now someone is seeking justice," Jungkook said firmly, his words carrying the weight of his conviction.

"Shut up, both of you. It's not a debate whether that girl's death was a suicide or not," Y/N scolded, her voice authoritative and commanding. The room fell into a heavy silence as her words hung in the air, effectively quelling any further arguments.

"Only she can make these two behave," Eunwoo murmured, his comment loud enough for everyone to hear. Immediately, glares were thrown his way, indicating their disapproval at his remark.

"So the question is, if it's not you, then who?" Y/N asked, their gaze fixed on Jungkook, hoping for answers. A cloud of uncertainty settled upon them, the puzzle of Sooya's death and the ensuing events weighing heavily upon their minds.

"But don't they deserve it?" Jungkook asked, annoyance evident in his voice.

"Look, Jungkook ssi," she began, her tone calm but firm. "They might have bullied her in the past, and maybe they were even involved in her death. But now, they have changed. Everyone deserves a second chance."

Her words hung in the air, carrying a sense of compassion and belief in redemption. Jungkook's expression softened as he contemplated her words, his anger gradually subsiding.

"How did you find out it's related to Sooya?" Jaehyun asked, his curiosity evident in his voice. Y/N took a deep breath, gathering her thoughts before explaining everything they had discovered, including the significance of the locket and its connection to Sooya.

"No wonder you doubted me," Jungkook murmured, a mixture of emotions crossing his face as he realized the weight of the evidence against him.

"Do you know anything else about the killer?" Jimin inquired, his voice filled with a mix of concern and determination. The room grew tense as they awaited Y/N's response, hoping for any additional information that could shed light on his identity.

"No. From seeing the killer twice, all I can say is he is about our age, he wears a black outfit and a mask during the murders, and, Ah! he has blue eyes," she shared, recalling the details as best as she could.

"It must be contact lenses or someth-," Eunwoo began, trying to offer a rational explanation.

"No, I think it's his real eye color," she confirmed, interrupting him. The room fell into a heavy silence as they contemplated the chilling description of the killer.

"How much did you check him out?" Taehyung asked, raising an eyebrow, his curiosity piqued.

"Guys," Jungkook called, attempting to redirect their attention, but his words fell on deaf ears as they remained engrossed in their conversation.

"I wasn't checking hi-wait, what?" Y/N responded, her confusion evident.

"God, please help me," Jaehyun murmured under his breath, feeling overwhelmed by the sudden chaos of the situation.

"GUYS!" Jungkook finally called out loudly, his voice commanding their attention.

"WHAT?" Taehyung and Y/N both asked simultaneously, their focus abruptly shifting to Jungkook, ready to address whatever urgent matter he had to share.
"It's her brother. He has blue eyes," Jungkook said.

"It's her brother. He has blue eyes," Jungkook revealed, causing a collective gasp to fill the room.

"Woah, do you know how he looks like?" Jimin asked eagerly, his eyes filled with hope.

"No," Jungkook admitted. "I haven't seen him before. But she used to talk about him a lot. Once she mentioned that he had blue eyes, just like her grandmother."

The room fell into a momentary silence, a mixture of anticipation and uncertainty swirling in the air. Jimin sighed, frustration evident in his voice, "How are we going to find him now? We don't even know where to begin."

They exchanged concerned glances, realizing the daunting task ahead of them. Finding Sooya's brother seemed like finding a needle in a haystack, but they remained determined to uncover the truth and bring justice to both Sooya and those who lost their lives.

"If he has blue eyes, he must be wearing a lens to cover it, right?" Jaehyun asked, his mind racing with possibilities.

"So?" Taehyung retorted, his voice tinged with frustration. "What are you suggesting? Should we go and check everyone who wears lenses? We don't have time for that. He must have found out that Y/N has his locket. So, he will likely target his next victim soon."

The weight of Taehyung's words settled upon them, the urgency of the situation becoming even more apparent. They needed to act quickly to prevent further harm, but the lack of concrete information made the task seem even more daunting. Their determination grew, knowing that time was running out and they had to find a way to uncover the identity of Sooya's brother and put an end to the cycle of violence before he struck again.

"Hey, doesn't the university system have the details about the students? We can check the students' file," Jaehyun suggested, a glimmer of hope in his voice.

"They must have deleted it already," Eunwoo replied, a hint of doubt in his tone.

"But there are old detail files. Isn't it still in the storeroom?" Jaehyun pondered aloud, his mind working to find a possible solution.

"What about the keys?" Taehyung interjected, raising a critical point. Their plan to access the storeroom would require obtaining the necessary keys to gain entry.

"I will get it," Jungkook said, displaying determination in his voice and expression.

"But won't there be CCTV?" Jungkook asked, concern creeping into his tone.

"Jimin ssi~," Y/N called out, catching everyone's attention as they looked expectantly at Jimin.

"What?" Jimin asked, puzzled by the sudden attention.

"Are you still studying hacking?" Y/N asked, a glimmer of hope in their eyes.

"Yeah, why- wait, no way I am doing it," Jimin replied, his confusion and reluctance evident. Despite his knowledge and skills, the idea of hacking into the CCTV system seemed daunting and risky to him.

Finally, we got to know the killer is her brother and Jungkook is innocent.

But is he telling the truth? If so, who is Sooya's brother?

Q) Does your parents support you being an ARMY?

My mom thinks I am nuts, but she does like Jungkook. My dad doesn't have a problem with it as long as I concentrate on my studies too. He is always supportive:)
