Chapter 1: A winged creature

——————————————————————

Flipping through the pages of an old book, one page caught the young boy's—Jeon Jungkook—eye.

He sat down fully on the floor after squatting as he had only intended to take a quick look at the book that had seemed to be thrown on the floor.

He was found in an abandoned home in the middle of the forest. Jungkook had only stumbled upon it as he ran through the forest, seeking a place to scream—scream all his frustrations out.

But now, hours later, he was still found searching the house for anything interesting. When he came to what looked like a children's room, he walked in with a lump in his throat. The room was completely wrecked. There was dust everywhere, a broken desk and a fallen chair, a torn quilt and a broken pot on the floor and in front of the enormous bookshelf, laid a closed book.

It was a dark red, which got slightly brighter as Jungkook squatted down to blow off the dust. But it remained a majestic color, with rusty gold details and big letters in a rusty gold too.

B O O K  O F  S P E L L S

The boy immediately chuckled, reminiscing the time he believed in spells and magic too—what a time.

He was now sat down fully, the book laid before him while he observed the page he'd stopped at carefully.

D E V I L

Was the title of the page.

He scoffed this time rather than chuckling.

How stupid was it not to make kids believe in such stuff?

He let go of the book and let it lay on the floor in front of him as he gathered his hands in his lap.

He thought he was dumb as he read the spell out loud, but continued with it whatsoever.

But the ridiculous smile on his face got wiped away faster than it appeared as the book flew two feet away and started shaking.

He only got to pray for his life as the book started lighting with the sharpest white light that had ever met his eyes.

Unable to keep his eyes open due to the blinding light, he closed them and right then he knew he wasn't going to open them again.

But, imagine his surprise when he opened them and instead of large horns resting on the creatures head, there was nothing but black hair and enormous dark wide wings fluttering behind its back.

The boy stood up immediately and walked backwards, until his back collided with the bookshelf and a cloud of dust made him cough.

The creature didn't move the slightest.

Jungkook looked back down at the book he'd thought was fake, before looking back up at the creature who stared at him with curious eyes.

The creature had dark wings, but a glow around him that seemed divine—that was not a devil.

It was an angel.

Though he was relieved, the young boy still couldn't fathom that the book had lied to him, and then he got reminded that maybe the book was fake and that the creature in front of him was nothing but a figment of his own imagination.

Until the angel touched his face.
