Walking through the forest, splinters pricked through her soft feet. No pain felt by her, only love towards her husband. The visions of their past lives were intense but was limited staying in the van. "we should stop here and build camp for the night, ill get some food and water whilst you should make a shelter." Ashok stated, Kaurvaki nodded and started finding raw materials to build a shelter. Making a fire and sleeping beside the comforting flames on the cold floor was the way Ashok and Kaurvaki lived for many months, it was hard but was quite peaceful.
One day they stopped at an ashram within the van, and all the rishi's were organising a great Pooja for Shiv. Ashok and Kaurvaki participated by the invite of a sage who realized them. Kaurvaki went to pick some flowers from the nearby meadows for the veneration. She sung when she was picking the flowers, "kaisa hai mere Ram, najanai kaisa hai mere ram, kaisa hoga mere Ram, kaisa hai mere Ram!" Kaurvaki loved singing this song about Ram, in a way the song was dedicated to her beloved. A rakshas was passing by and heard the melodious voice, he saw her through the bushes, a beautiful woman picking flowers has trapped the demon in her beauty. "this woman is beautiful, I feel to touch her but she is Ashok's wife, perhaps in another way I can touch her."
The demon took the form of a bird and found a way to touch Kaurvaki by biting her on her neck. Kaurvaki knowing this isn't normal for a bird to attack her she began calling for Ashok. Hearing his name, Ashok came with his sword. "Kaurvaki what is it? Are you okay?" He questioned concerned. "Swami, the bird bit me on my neck and I fear it's not ordinary, nature and its animals respect me and each other!" Kaurvaki said, giving all the information Ashok needed to know. He saw the bird lay half dead on the floor as Kaurvaki swatted it down. The bird revealed his true form. Ashok pulled out his sword and slayed him. "Kaurvaki you okay?" Ashok questioned concerned. "yeah, uh I'm fine just have to treat the bite." Kaurvaki lied partly.
Kaurvaki covered her neck with her veil and walked back to the ashram with Ashok, when she looked behind her she saw the dead rakshas fade away with the air. She released a single tear recalling of the recent event that occurred. She sighed to gather up strength and kept her focus on the present.
