chapter 6
"So uhh... what should we do?" Felix said as they walked along the sidewalk
It was a somewhat gloomy day. There wasn't a sign of a rain but it looked a bit cloudy.
"It's an ok day out. How about you show me around? Everything looks familiar, I just don't remember most of it." Chan said.
Felix's heart hurt a little from that. He felt terrible for him. He wished he could just get a huge tape of memories and put it into his brain somehow.
Yea, that sounds weird but that's how he felt.
"Sure! How about this ice cream place. It was our favorite through out middle school." Felix smiled.
"What about after? Why not high school?" Chan asked.
Felix suddenly got tense. The reason why they stopped going as often is being in high school they gained a bigger friend group and they wanted there ice cream dates to be for themselves. But they couldn't do it as often because everyone wanted to hang out with each other.
"School work." Felix awkwardly chuckled.
"Ahh, that makes sense."
"Oh speaking of school, because you missed a bunch, the school put together a packet of work you can do instead of making up all past work you weren't there for. That way you can still get that credit easier."
"Oh great." Chan said sarcastically.
"Oh stop it, I looked over it it's not hard."
"Hey Felix?"
"Yes."
"Are my parents home?"
And then Felix remembered before the crash.
—
Chan and Felix were at Chan's house hanging out when Chan's mother called them down.
"Yea, mom?"
"We just wanted to tell you that we're going on a huge business trip. We won't be back for a while, a few weeks maybe? I'm sorry that it was so sudden." Chan's mom said sadly.
"Oh.. that's no problem. If it's for work it's fine." Chan said.
"We're leaving tomorrow morning. Oh and I called your mom" Chan's mom said to Felix , "Chan you'll be staying with Felix for the time being." His mom said.
And Chan's face lit up and Felix smiled at the news.
"Your father and I have to finish packing now, you boys can go back to your business. We'll be busy for the rest of the night but I'll say goodbye when we leave tomorrow."
"Ok, goodnight mom."
"Goodnight mrs Bang."
The next day was the day of the car crash...
—
"Do they know what happened?" Chan asked.
"The hospital contacted your parents, but turns out they got dates wrong and it's actually a longer trip. But I talked to them on the phone and they said they'd come as soon as they can. Even if that means leaving earlier. But they said it'll be hard."
Chan nodded.
"Well I guess I have stuff at your house anyway I'm assuming, right?" Chan asked.
Felix modded. And just in time they made it to there favorite ice cream parlor.
Felix smiled at the sign, remembering all the simple dates they had together.
"C'mon im hungry." Chan wined.
"Hah, look who's talking, you always say I consume to much ice cream!" Felix laughed.
Chan gave Felix a confused look.
"Oh, never mind. Let's go in." Felix said
