Both singing.
(3rd Person POV)
The sounds of the keys on the piano was heard throughout the building. The beautiful music was mesmerizing, to anyone who heard it. Including the person who was playing it.
(Y/n) was sitting on a bench, infront of the musical instrument, Their hands hovering over the piano before their fingers lightly pressing down on the keys.
They often came here to play the piano and try to forget a certain person. Logan. Their ex.
Logan and (Y/n) were extremely happy with each other, but happiness doesn't last if neither one commits. Now, don't take it the wrong way. They didn't cheat on each other, no. They cared for each other too much to do that. They just were both extremely busy.
(Y/n) trying to pursue their music career, and Logan trying to get his doctorate. They were both too busy for a relationship. So, they compromised and decided to end it. Even though both of them didn't want to.
(Y/n) voice rang out as they started to sing to the music. One song stuck in their head and has been for a while. The meaning. Well, one of the meanings to the song is what attracted them to it.
"I heard there was a secret chord, that David played and it pleased the Lord, but you don't really care for music, do you?"
The sound of the piano mixed in with their voice was too loud for them to notice that someone was at the door, listening intently.
Their voice got a little louder, them being completely oblivious to the person watching.
"It goes like this, the fourth, the fifth, the minor fall, and the major lift. The baffled king composing Hallelujah."
They paused, still playing the piano. Thoughts and memories trailing through their mind.
"Hallelujah... Hallelujah... Hallelujah.. Hallelu-jah."
Their voice got more quiet as a person silently walked towards them.
"...What are you doing..?" A voice asked, behind them.
(Y/n) turned around to be met with the face of the man they were trying to forget.
"Oh. Logan. I was just.. singing." They responded, not looking him in the eye.
They both wouldn't admit it, but they missed each other. Too much that they couldn't really concentrate on their jobs, which they had split up for.
"May I ask why this song exactly?" Logan asked them, trying to start a small conversation.
"Ah... Well.." They didn't want to tell him. It would be too embarrassing, and too much of a plead for him to come back. But, they couldn't leave him with no answer.
"I suppose I like, one of the representations of the song.."
"And what would that be Exactly?" He asked, stepping a bit closer to the piano.
"..Well, One of the representations is about.. Broken Love...If you listen to the lyrics and do the research, it makes sense. But. That's not the only thing the song is about... That's just the part I like." They explained, Looking down at the keys.
They both stayed silent for a bit, before Logan broke the silence.
"..Would you mind if I play with you..?" He asked, Setting down his car keys.
(Y/n) smiled and nodded, Scooting over on the bench to make room for him.
He sat down, His hands hovering over the keys as he waited for (Y/n).
(Y/n) smiled and started to play, skipping to their favorite part of the song. A part they relate to. A part that moves them.
"Well, Baby I've been here before, I've know this room, I walked this floor. I used to live alone before I knew you."
Logan played with them, taking a few side glances at them as he pressed down on the keys, smiling slightly.
"Ive seen your flag on the marble arch, and love is not a victory March, it's a cold an it's a broken, Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelu-jah."
Logan tried to watch them as he played, but he had to look at the keys, he wasn't an expert at musical instruments like they were. He understood now why they liked this song.
(Y/n) drew a deep breathe before continuing.
"Well, maybe there's a god above, But all I've ever learned from love, is how to shoot at someone who outdrew you. And it's not a cry you can hear at night, It's not somebody who's seen the light it's-"
"It's a cold and it's a broken, Hallelujah."
(Y/n) was surprised to hear Logan sing along, they weren't expecting it. But in all honesty, what were they expecting? They didn't question it for too long, as they started to sing with him.
"Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelu-jah."
(Y/n) played the keys, slowly ending the song. They turned to look at Logan, smiling sadly.
Logan looked at them, sniffling, silently.
They both just looked at each other, a silent understanding coming between both of them.
They loved each other, no matter how hard they would try to forget each other. It wasn't easy, and infact, it wasn't possible for them.
They looked at each other's eyes, barely able to stop themselves from quickly leaning toward each other.
They both kissed, softly and lovingly, a hint of desperation was held. They didn't want to end it, and they didn't know why they did.
But their love was rekindled. Healed, and renewed.
And I don't think they will ever separate again.
They pulled away from each other, slowly, leaning their foreheads against each other.
The silence wasn't awkward, or tense. It was comfortable.
"..I can't live without you." Logan told them, tears forming in his eyes.
(Y/n) just smiled, and pulled him into another loving kiss.
"You don't have to."
