     SUNDAYS WERE THE BEST...

for shiyumi, because those were the days that she could actually dress up as a girl and wear all the skirts and dresses before she outgrows them.

but according to her mother, she fears that shiyumi won't ever outgrow them.

hence why shiyumi was now out on the streets in a loose baby pink dress with puffy sleeves, loitering around with yachi.

"y-yumi, aren't you worried that the others might see you like this?", yachi asked, skimming around the crowd of people every second or so.

"nahhh!! they're probably all practicing volleyball or something. and plus, even if they do, I'll just tell them that I'm shōyō's sickly twin and that's why they don't see me at school", shiyumi explained.

"or even better, I'll just hide from them", the girl shrugged, entering a clothing store, as she started marveling at the sundress with cherries patterned all over it.

"yeah, that's true. what are the odds, rig—"

"huh? yachi, is that you?!", a voice suddenly called out, to which the blonde girl had squealed, as she hastily pushed shiyumi out of the way without a second thought.

shiyumi nearly fell if it weren't for her good reflexes.

"o-oh! TAKEDA-sensei and coach UKAI! a-and KIYOKO-senpai!! what are you three doing here?", yachi nervously laughed, emphasizing on their names so that shiyumi could clearly hear.

"we're actually here to order the team some customized jackets, but don't tell any of them", ukai whispered, to which yachi had nodded.

"kiyoko-san's got all the sizes written down, so we asked her to come along. and it's actually perfect that you're here, because originally we were going to wait to ask for your size once we got back on monday", takeda explained.

"indeed! you and kiyoko can get to know each other better since you're gonna be the new manager", ukai added on.

"only if you don't mind. we hope we didn't interrupt anything", shimizu smiled.

"o-oh...umm...I..."

"and by the way, were you with hinata earlier? I swear I saw a tuff of orange hair", takeda hummed, glancing around the store, as yachi popped up in his peripheral view.

"nope! just me and me alone! I'm free! let's...order the jackets first!", yachi exclaimed, to which the other three had nodded.

yachi then shot shiyumi an apologetic look, though the girl had given her a thankful thumbs up.

shiyumi then started slowly backing up, keeping an eye on the group, as she accidentally bumped into someone's side.

"oh shoot!! I'm so sorry, sir!!", shiyumi immediately bowed.

"no worries, cutie! I know you probably meant it anyways", the brown-haired male in front of her replied.

shiyumi immediately straightened her posture, looking up at the attractive (it was undeniable) boy with a raised brow.

     "excuse me?"

"I said that you probably did it on purpose. anyways, are you one of my fangirls? what did you want? my signature? a picture?", the cocky boy asked.

     "uhm, I'm good. anyways, bye!"

     "wait, wait, wait!! what?"

     "what?", shiyumi asked.

"you mean to say that you didn't bump into me to ask for my number or anything?"

"yeah. I bumped into you because I didn't look where I was going. hence the apology. and hence the bowing, in case you didn't notice", the girl sarcastically snapped back.

the brown-haired boy stood there for a moment: stunned.

though just as shiyumi was about to leave once more, ukai had turned his head to look around the store, seemingly to be waiting on the store owner.

shiyumi squatted, as she sighed a breath of relief, trying to waddle out of the store, as the boy had nearly snorted at the girl's odd behavior.

"what're you trying to do there? if you're trying to catch my attention, it's working", he teased.

     "I'm not!", shiyumi harshly whispered.

"I'm trying to avoid that group of people up front, but I'm kind of stuck right now!"

the egotistical boy looked over to see shimizu, yachi, and the rest, not understanding why shiyumi would be trying to avoid them when they didn't even seem threatening in the slightest.

"so are you just gonna squat on the floor and wait forever?"

"yeah, unless you have a better idea...", shiyumi grumbled, crossing her arms.

"in fact I do! so get up and stop dirtying your dress", the boy demanded, offering his hand, as shiyumi hesitantly took it.

the male then charmingly spun shiyumi to his left side, holding her closely by the waist, as the majority of his body blocked the others from seeing her.

the two then calmly exited the store, with yachi internally screaming after realizing that shiyumi had disappeared from the store.

"see! wasn't so hard now, was it?", the boy smirked.

"thanks again", shiyumi said, adding on a smile.

"oh! could you wait for me for just a moment please? I'll be quick", shiyumi stated, to which the brown-haired boy had just went with the flow and nodded.

sometimes it was nice not having someone drool over you especially because of your looks.

a few minutes later, shiyumi came back with two packaged items in her hands.

the dark-haired boy could visibly see the tiny grin blooming onto shiyumi's face, as she offered one to him.

"I was going to get you my favorite dessert, purin, but they didn't have any, so I settled for milk bread. I hope you're okay with that", the girl explained.

"milk bread?"

"mhm! if you don't like it, that's fine. just tell me and I can go back and get something else for you. I just wanted to thank you for helping me even though you don't know me at all", shiyumi shrugged.

"it's all good. I like milk bread...actually", he responded, taking a chunk and popping it in his mouth.

"that's great! well, thanks again and hope to see you around or somethi—"

"wait! can I at least get your name?"

shiyumi hesitated.

"mm...I'll do you one better! what's your name?", the girl smirked.

the boy cracked an amused smile, turning around and he head tilted back.

"ja~ remember good and remember well. the name's oikawa tōru: captain of the aobo johsai volleyball team!"

shiyumi's expression dropped.

"c-captain...of aobo...johsai...you say..."

"mhm! come watch my game whenever, cutie!! byeee~"

shiyumi stood there for a moment, wanting to rip her hair out for literally asking the worst person for help.

'AWWW SHIT!! WHAT IF HE FINDS OUT?! WHAT IF HE TELLS EVERYONE?! wait...calm down, shiyumi!! calm down! at least he doesn't know your name and as long as there's no practice matches between karasuno and aobo johsai it should be fine.

right. everything's gonna be a-okay!'

"where's the jacket that you owe me?", iwaizumi hajime — the best friend of oikawa — questioned.

oikawa nervously chuckled, as he twiddled his thumbs.

"you see, iwa-chan, there was this girl—"

"DON'T YOU IWA-CHAN ME! AND LIKE HELL I CARE ABOUT SOME GIRL!! WHERE'S MY JACKET?!", the brown-haired boy angrily asked, practically throwing his friend into the air.

"iwa-chan, you don't understand!! I think I might be in love!!", oikawa childishly pouted.

"that still doesn't explain why you didn't buy me the jacket that I asked you to get. and plus, who even is she?"

"I don't know", oikawa honestly answered.

"but I'll find out once she comes to one of my games", he smiled.
