The Beginning Pt 2.
3rd Person:
An 8-year-old girl with glittery, purple eyes rushed around the basement, holding a clear, glass container with some kind of liquid in it.
It was Manami Okuda. She had gotten adopted by the Maiya family.
Upon hearing that she had to change her last name, Manami had a full-on breakdown. She wanted to keep her last name 'Okuda' in remembrance of her late parents.
Nariko Maiya, her new mother, reassured her that she wouldn't have to change her name and that they would change their last names instead. So that's what happened.
Rai Okuda, Nariko Okuda and her new younger brother, Nori Okuda.
And so, 3 years had passed since that traumatizing event. She still has nightmares of it but has, more or less, gotten over it.
A highlight of her life so far is that the Asanos still interact with the new Okuda family. Which means that Gakushuu and her are still acquainted.
He's a bit more distant but she didn't care. She still loved him (platonically).
Her hair was at her neck, it grew but due to an accident, she had to cut it. Over the years her eyesight had gotten steadily worse, but it wasn't enough to need glasses.
Manami had taken a liking to chemistry in her early years as her mother was a scientist, as well as an assassin...
So here she was. Running around the basement, her self-made lab, with acid in her hands.
Manami's 'parents' knew nothing of this hobby, the hobby being making dangerous chemicals in her spare time. If they did they would most certainly not be okay with it. And there is one threat to them finding out.
Her brother.
Nori wasn't fond of Manami as he had to change his last name because of her. So he tried everything in his 6-year-old power to get Manami in trouble.
Today was his chance.
The basement door opened with a creak, a small silhouette at the top of the stairs. Manami turned to look at whatever opened the door, and her eyes widened in annoyance and fear.
"Manami-Onee-San. What do you think you're doing?" Nori asked her with a sadistic grin on his face.
'This isn't good. He'll tell me off, no doubt! Then I won't be able to make chemicals anymore...' Manami thought in a slight panic.
"I- Er-Um...Please don't tell mum and dad...I'll get in trouble." Manami flinched as she said that.
'As if that's gonna stop him! Great going Manami.' She mentally facepalmed at herself.
"They will? Well then, might as well go tell them right now!" Nori turned, with the intention to run to the phone.
Manami fell into a state of panic. She didn't know what to do, she loved chemistry with a passion and he was going to take away her sole happiness! She then looked down at her hands and realised something.
Acid.
With that in mind, she rushed after her brother. This house didn't have cameras, and their neighbours were a good 30km away from them. How convenient.
Grabbing him by the arm, she spun him around, a grin on her face. Nori looked at her in surprise.
"Let me go you psycho! I'm telling mum and dad and you can't stop me!" Nori screeched and struggled against her grasp.
Manami lifted up the Bunsen burner threateningly. "I can't stop you, huh?" Upon realising what she was going to do, fear invaded Nori's system and he instinctively fought harder to free himself.
"D-Don't! Please!" He cried when she wouldn't let him go.
"You can't snitch...if you're dead." She told him before pouring the liquid over him.
No one was there to hear his tortured screams.
Her second kill, age 8, was on purpose.
Manami looked at the clock, the at the burnt body of her brother. Her parents were going to be home in an hour, and she had to hide the body.
'Why hide it...when I can burn it?' Her house had an incinerator in the garden. Once again, how convenient.
With much effort, as she was only 8, she managed to drag the corpse to the garden. After throwing him in there, she made sure to get rid of the evidence, then headed off to bed.
The sound of the front entrance opening could be heard through the crack of her bedroom door.
"Manami-Chan! Nori-Kun! Mama and papa are home!" As soon as she heard the sound of footsteps coming up the stairs, Manami clenched her eyes shut in the act of seeming asleep.
"Oh, she's asleep. Well then, Nariko, let's go see where Nori is." Rai, her father, whispered. Manami smirked under the covers as their footsteps faded.
'They aren't going to find him, he's dead.' She thought with a quiet giggle.
Manami couldn't help the quiet chuckles that escaped her lips when she heard the panicked voices of her parents.
2 Years Later:
It's been 2 years since Nori Okuda went 'missing'. No one could find him and Manami's parents were extremely overprotective of her, in fear that she would disappear too.
And it was a day after Manami's 10th birthday.
Due to her unlucky life, the house was set on fire, Manami's parents died and Manami survived.
She didn't give much of a reaction. She wasn't that close to them anyway.
Last time, she was forced to go to an orphanage, which at least gave her a chance to maybe-somehow get adopted by the Asano family.
She wasn't as lucky this time, because who would have thought that Japan's prime minister would adopt her?
A/N Everything is going way too quickly, I know. It's bad, I know. I'm terrible at naming, I know. I told you I was going to make you wait for this chapter. :D
Also, near the end of 'The Beginning Pt 3' is where the flashback italic thing will end and the first person will start.
