Groovy Movies
"So what'd you get for Mrs. Lucas?" Stella and I ask the boys as we walk up to them.
I run up to the boys with a smile on my face, "Hey, Hey, Hey!"
Stella walks up behind me, "Do you guys think your mom would like this for her birthday?" she asks as she holds up the ugly cat sweater that our grandma gave us for Christmas last year.
"Stella we just pulled like the same scam 2 minutes ago," Kevin said.
"And I just pulled the same scam 2 seconds ago," Joe added. I raised my eyebrows at the boy's stupidity.
"Yeah And I'm not falling for it the third time," Nick rolls his eyes. I try to stifle my laughter.
"Besides that's the ugliest Sweater I have ever seen you would never buy that for our Mom, look at it" Joe said.
"Okay fine, You win," Stella said throwing the ugly sweater at Kevinbefore pulling out a pink scarf, "What I really got her is this Andre Voila Silk Scarf from Paris."
I smile before pulling out a locket that had a photo of the boys in it, "And I got her this locket with a picture of her precious boys."
Joe squints his eyes, "How did you find a photo of us with Frankie?"
I shrug with a small smirk, "That is my secret." The answer: Macy.
Joe, Nick, and Kevin look at Stella and me with an uneasy expression before I frown at them, "You Guy's Forgot her Birthday, Didn't you?"
"I think the School store is open" Stella suggested. Stella and I laugh as they all run to the gift shop.
"Mom likes pencils!"
"We can get her a football helmet!"

Apparently the gift shop at school was temporarily closed because of renovations so the boys had to find another way to buy her a last-minute gift.
Stella and I, however, weren't visiting to help them with a gift idea but to run some of her last-minute designs by Mr. Lucas before it was too late. Leading to us walking into the movie room to find the family.
I smile seeing Nick wave over at me while Stella moves to sit near Mrs. Lucas, "Hey. We want to run these designs by-Oh home movies."
My eyes move up to the screen as I see baby Nick on the screen, covered in birthday cake. I vaguely remember being there for his birthday.
"Go on Nicky, give me a smile," Mr. Lucas said from the video. I laugh, moving to sit on Nick's armrest. I blush when I feel him wrap his arm around my waist. I look down at him and smile when I see he isn't even looking at what he is doing.
"Not going to happen," Joe sighed.
"I was waiting for I have my teeth all in," Nick defended himself.
Joe scoffed, "What's your excuse now?"
I smile at the moody Lucas brother who just rolls his eyes and looks back at the screen. I lightly nudge him with my elbow and watch as a small coveted Nick Lucas smile flits on his face before it immediately goes away when Kevin turns back to look at him.
"The only kid I know that didn't smile while eating a birthday cake," Kevin laughed.
"Give me a smile. Give me a smile!" Mr. Lucas pestered becoming more impatient.
"Smile Nicholas," Mrs. Lucas' voice came and started making strange noises.
"What were you doing behind me?" Mr. Lucas asked turning to his wife.
"What? I was just making funny faces to make him laugh" Mrs. Lucas explained. "Like this", she added before making funny faces that made all of us laugh.
I hear a small giggle and turn to the screen to see a young version of my being placed in the kiddie chair next to Nick, earning a small smile from the young boy on the screen.
"Nothing's changed," I hear Joe mutter at Kevin.
"Oh my God! It was our last Christmas in the old house," Mrs. Lucas said, as her eyes began to water.
"That's my old drum set," Nick pointed out. I smile watching Nick try to play the drums for the first time while Joe dances awkwardly.
"Nice dance moves Joe" Kevin said.
"Did you have to go to the bathroom, or something?" Nick asked, while Joe just rolled his eyes.
I lean down to whisper, "trust me, that is just how he dances."
Nick lets out a breathy laugh. Joe turns to me with a glare, "You aren't talking about dance class are you?"
I gove him a look of feigning innocence, "Never."
"Hey, it's Kevin's first girlfriend," Nick said pointing at the cowboy Kevin trying to lasso a fence.
"Go cowboy Kev" Joe laughed, watching Kevin throw the lasso and miss, "And that is the same way you get dates today".
"At least I get them," Kevin said.
"Oh get, first Christmas at the firehouse," Mr. Lucas said.
"Do you remember when grandma burnt those cookies and had to call the fire department?" Joe asked us.
Kevin laughs, "And our phone rang, instead."
"Man, time goes by so fast," Mr. Lucas spoke up.
"Yeah, it really does," Mrs. Lucas nodded before she began crying.
"Are you crying?" Nick asked Joe.
"What? No. I have dust in my eye," Joe replied.
"Are you crying?" I asked Kevin.
"Yes," Kevin looked at me defensively before dabbing his eye with kleenex.
"Oh, it's ok. It's really emotional stuff," Mrs. Lucas sniffled as she smiled at her husband, "Oh, honey. I can't tell you how much I love these movies."
"These aren't sad tears, it's happy tears," Mr. Lucas smiled at his wife lovingly. I hope someone will look at me that way, someday.
"Where's me?" Frankie asked.
"These were taken before you were born," I smiled at him
"Frankie, out," Frankie make the peace sign before walking away.
"Is that Joe?" Stella asked when Joe came on the video with a short bowl cut. "What is up with your hair? Did someone cut it or chew it off?"
We all laugh while Joe just glared at my older sister.
"All right then, I think we've seen enough tonight," Joe said moving to turn it off.
"Wait," Stella said, stopping Joe from turning it off, "Look at that cute little girl. Look at those eyes and that hair. And her smile. Oh! Isn't that the cutest smile you've ever seen?"
"Stella, that's you," I laugh, looking at my sister clasp her hands over her heart in adoration.
"I know" she smiled.
I watched as another young blonde girl emerged on the screen, causing me to point at the child in excitement, "Look how cute I was," I gush.
"We were," Stella corrects me while I here Nick mutter, "Still are."

"We are re-making the home videos and we need you in some of the videos," Joe explained to Stella and I. Apparently the boys, ruined all the home videos trying to make a cake for their mom, so now Stella and I have to come and help them redo all their videos.
"Of course," I nod my head, "Anything for Mrs. Lucas."
Kevin gives me a mischievous smile, "We were hoping you would say that young one," he throws an outfit at me before yelling, "Change into this please."
I walk out of the bathroom with a sour look on my face. The boys were making me recreate the time that I danced along to Milkshake by Kerri.
"I am not doing this," I said annoyed.
Joe rolls his eyes with a dramatic sigh, "You have to-I-You-Grrr," he quickly turned to Nick, "Talk to her."
I keep my arms folded in front of my chest as I watch Nick walk up to me, "Please help us out, Lola. You know how upset our mom is."
I try to ignore the cute way his dimple's show, as I shake my head, "No, I am not doing it. We all know what happens. I dance to the music video and halfway through I lift my shirt up and everyone sees my training bra."
All the boys wear stupid grins on their faces as they daze into space.
I roll my eyes before snapping my fingers in front of them, causing their cheeks to redden once they realize what they were doing.
"Fine," Joe huffs, "Then we will just film smoothie day."
My eyes widen. Smoothie day was a nightmare. I tried to make a smoothie for myself when I was around seven. Of course I forgot to put the lid on the smoothie...causing a huge mess and ruining my favorite dress.
I swore I would never make another smoothie again after that day, yet here I was putting all the ingredients in the blender. Preparing for my demise, in the infamous hello kitty dress.
I frown watching the boys as the waited for me to embarrass myself before I sent them a fake smile and turn the blender on, jumping back as it begins to splash.
"No way," Joe yelled, stopping the camera.
"What? This is just like it was last time," I defend.
Kevin shook his head while Nick said, "Last time you didn't jump back and you added way too much milk."
I glower at the youngest boy before I went to do the scene again. This time I didn't jump back and watched as the milk splattered all over me. I frown feeling the sticky substance cover my body, while the boys laugh.
I shoot Nick daggers as I watch him take a picture with his phone.
I raise my eyebrow at him, "You think this is funny," I smirk.
Nick nods, "Hilarious."
I quickly grab the container with the remaining smoothie and dump it over his head. Laughing as he wipes the drink out of his face, his sour expression turning more upset than usual.
I can't contain my laughter as he looks at me in shock before a smirk falls on his face, "You think this is funny?"
I nod as watching him reach over to the sink and grab the water nozzle. I freeze holding my hands up in the air, "Now, Nick, let's not get too crazy."
I slowly back away but Nick is already spraying me with water causing me to run over to hide behind Kevin, laughing as Joe screams for us stop. Kevin and I begin to run behind each other, using each other as shields from Nick's torment, before we both pull Joe away from the camera and hide behind him.
Joe quickly snaps his attention to Nick, "Not the hair," he says before tossing a glass of soda at him.
We all begin to make a mess of the kitchen as we enter an entire food fight, with even Frankie joining in with water guns.
I hide behind the counter, trying to hide my giggles amongst the others laughter. I turn to look around for anyone and immediately see Nick smiling at me before he runs over and throws me over his shoulder.
I giggle as he spins me around the kitchen causing the boys to spray me with water, "Let me down, Nick."
Once he sets me down, it feels like the whole room goes black as I stare into his eyes, watching him smile at me. Even amount the chaos it feels like it is just him and me.
I feel his arm tighten around me waist, pulling me slightly closer as I begin to lean in along with Nick. I feel my eyes begin to flutter shut as Nick brings his hands up to my cheek.
My heart begins to skip a beat, as I think about kissing my best friend. The guy that I may have a small crush on.
Just as I feel his lips brush agains mine, I am shoved away. I watch in awe as Kevin pours an entire bowl of cake batter over Nick. The rare smile on his face quickly melted back into his regular scowl.

I laugh watching a grown-up Joe dancing to Nick bored playing the drums.
"Do I have great boys or what?" Mrs. Lucas laughs as we watch them try to recreate Thanksgiving. Stella and I had made it to Mrs. Lucas's party just in time to see all the videos the boys recreated.
Stella and I smile, pulling Mrs. Lucas into a hug. My eyes move to Nick who is quietly watching the screen in the corner of the room before I smile, "The best."
Stella laughs when she sees me turn on the blender, knowing what is going to happen after. I can't help but smile at the food fight we had the previous day. We all looked like we were having so much fun. The scene cuts before Nick and I kiss, and I believe that is due to the boy himself.
We hadn't spoken about what happened, rather what almost happened, after everything was cleaned up. Nick seemed like he wanted to talk but about something before I left, but I nervously lied and said I had to meet Stella at the mall because I wasn't sure what would happen if we talked.
I mean, I really like nick, but he is also my best friend and the last thing I wanna do is ruin things between us. If we broke up, I know things would not be the same, and I can't bear that.
Mrs. Lucas brought me out of my inner turmoil about her son when she tugged my hand, "You know, Lola, I never got to say thank you for my gift."
I furrow my eyebrows, "You already opened it?"
Mrs. Lucas gave me a warm smile, "No, sweetie, not that gift. Your other gift."
I let out a confused laugh, "I only got you the one--"
Mrs. Lucas cuts me off, nudging her head towards the wall that Nick was leaning on. I look over and notice him staring at me before he fumbles and looks away. I feel a small blush creep up on my cheeks.
Mrs. Lucas laughs before humming, "I don't think I have ever seen Nick smile like that."
I feel my own lips turn up into a huge grin as I watch the boy awkwardly scratch the back of his head, trying to see if I was still looking at him.
Everyone claps as the home videos end. They all turned out really well.
"Okay, everyone," Joe stands in front of the screen to get everyone's attention, "It's actually not quite over yet, we have a special feature to show you."
I turn to look at Stella confused since we were never told of any special feature.
"W-What Special Feature?" Stella asked me. I shrugged before looking up at the screen.
"Oh you'll see," Nick cockily smirked, "They're Special"
Joe then clicked on the VCR and the screen immediately revealed a young Stella in a black tophat and our mom's black dress that was way too big on her. I laugh at my sister's embarrassing state before patting back.
"Aww, That was my mom's dress, I loved that dress, it's too bad it didn't fit me," Stella sighed.
"Too Small?" Mrs. Lucas nodded.
Stella sighed, "Too Big."
"Wait a minute, I told my Mom to erase this tape," Stella frowned.
"Hmm, maybe somebody knew somebody else who made a copy and sold it to me," Joe said in a strange voice, that I hope he never uses again.
My eyes widen as I glare at Joe, for selling me out. Stella looks at me in anger, betrayal all over her face, "You didn't."
I wince before shrugging at Stella, "Sorry."
Before she can catch me, I run to the boys, hiding behind Nick for safety. Nick quickly takes a protective stance in front of me, trying to stifle his laughter.
Joe draws my sister's attention away from me since he couldn't control his laughter, either. Her head snapped towards him, "You better run."
Joe sprinted to the fire pole with Stella chasing after him. Joe quickly jumped down the fire escape with Stella following him, causing me to wince at the thought of her heels landing on him.
"Thank goodness mine were destroyed with the originals," I dramatically wipe my forehead, watching the end of Stella's video.
Nick clasps his hands together before wincing in fake pity, "About that.."
My eyes widen and I quickly turn to the television and watch on horror as I dance to Milkshake, my tiny hips swaying along to the beat. I am frozen in my spot watching as my naive younger self raises my shirt in the air like the girls on the music video.
I hear Nick's voice as he said, "It was a hard feat, but we managed to save one tape."
I don't need to turn around to know that he has already taken off, with me hot on his heels. He is so going to get it.
