7.) "The Water Nymph: Tsunami!"

The Pussycats decided that since Manami had the next two days of school free, they were going to stay the two days to hang out.

They went to a place called KidZania for Kota and Legoland for everyone. Kota thoroughly enjoyed himself, and Manami did too. She liked seeing her nephew happy and smiling. It's been a while.

The two days came and went and back to the forest the Pussycats went. Yawara was crying, saying how the two days passed too quickly. He wanted to hang out with them more.

The two Izumi's are currently on their way to Kota's school.

It isn't a quiet walk today like usual though. She's getting recognized.

"Ah! You're the winner of the sports festival!" a woman shouts.

That makes everyone slightly crowd around her and Kota.

"Wow! You're so strong!"

Manami blushes from all the attention, thanking everyone as they continue to Kota's school. The more congrats she receives, the more and more grumpy Kota gets as they go. She gets congratulations from the teachers that see her as she drops Kota off.

She kneels down in front of Kota, giving him a hug then a kiss on his forehead. "I'll see you soon. Be good. Love you."

He grumbles out a, "Love you too," before making his way to his class.

She smiles, watching till he disappears around the corner then leaves herself. To avoid the crowd, she melts herself and travels across buildings towards the train station. She stops once she sees a familiar face, dropping down beside him and forming to her normal self.

"Kacchan!"

"Aawhhat the fuck!" Bakugo flinches away, screeching at her.

She giggles at his mad-scared reaction. "Good morning, Kacchan!"

"You bitch! Would you stop fucking doing that?!"

"Nope!" she pops the 'p' and laughs then pouts. "You haven't said good morning back..."

"And I'm not going to!" he blinks, thinking. "And don't call me that!"

"But Izu does?" She gives him a sad puppy dog pout.

He rolls his eyes. "Don't call me that stupid nerd's childhood nickname."

She thinks, putting a finger to her chin. "Then how about... Kats?"

"Hmmph," he crosses his arms. "What happened to Katsu?" he mockingly replies.

"Not cute enough," she simply responds with a shrug. "Kats it is."

He rolls his eyes as they make their way into the train station. She follows behind him and stands beside him once they get to the waiting zone.

"Hey, once we get on the train," Bakugo begins, scrunching his face a little. "...could... you... braid my hair like last time?"

She smiles up at him with a happy nod. "Definitely!"

The train pulls to a stop in front of them, and they miraculously find seats beside each other. She pulls out a package of small hair ties from her bag and begins working on Bakugo's hair. She teases him when she realizes he brushed his hair previously to make it easier for her. He definitely planned this.

"Hey, you guys are the sports festival finalists, right?" a guy across from them asks.

Then the two get attention from the whole train cart, telling them how awesome they were.

Manami bathes in the attention and compliments meanwhile Bakugo... is about to blow a fuse. Just one more stupid question...

"You two are so cute! Are the two of you dating?" a girl asks.

Then Bakugo explodes, making Mana have to stop braiding the third braid. "No! Would you all shut up?! Can't hear myself think with all your blabbering!"

The train cart then becomes oddly silent.

"Kats, don't be so rude," Mana says, flicking his head.

He smacks her hand away from him and crosses his arms in annoyance. "Don't touch me."

She shrugs. "Then you're not getting braids today."

He whips his head with an offended mad look. "I–"

She crosses her arms, looking away from him with her nose up. "Nope. Not unless you apologize."

His right eye twitches. "No."

She shrugs, standing as they arrive at their stop. She waves goodbye to everyone and grabs Bakugo's arm before pulling him towards the school.

Their classmates must've gone through the same situation of people recognizing them, as that's what they all talk about before class starts.

Aizawa walks in, making everyone quickly get in their spots. "Morning."

"Morning, Aizawa sensei," the class responds back.

"We have a big class today on hero informatics." He pauses as the students have panic attacks racing through their heads on what it's about. "You need code names. Time to pick your hero identities."

"This is gonna be totally awesome!" the class cheers.

Aizawa immediately activates his quirk, and they quickly calm down, 'sshing' each other. "This is related to the pro hero draft picks that I mentioned last time we were in class together. Normally students don't have to worry about the draft picks yet, not until their second or third year actually, but your class is different. In fact, by extending offers to first-years like you, pros are essentially investing in your potential. Any offers can be rescinded if their interest in you dies down before graduation though."

"Stupid selfish adults," Mineta's voice shakily huffs.

"Now here are the totals for those of you that got offers," Aizawa says, pressing a button on a remote and making a list of names and their offers.

Izumi 5012
Todoroki 4123
Katsuki 3556
Tokoyami 360
Iida 301
Kaminari 272
Yaoyorozu 108
Kirishima 68
Uraraka 20
Sero 14

Mana blinks, eyeing become saucers. "WHOA!"

"In past years, it's been more spread out," Aizawa says. "But there's a pretty big gap this time."

"Gah!" Kaminari dramatically huffs, throwing his head back and slumping in his seat. "That's no fair."

"What about the real star, mwah?" Aoyama pouts.

"Despite these results, you'll all be interning with pros. Got it? Even those of you that didn't get offers."

They continue to talk about the interns then Midnight comes in to help with hero names. Aizawa decides to take a nap while she's in charge. Boards are passed out with markers to write down their hero names.

After a few minutes, Midnight speaks up. "Now students, who among you are ready to share?"

Everyone seems to remain glued to their seats, except the sparkly boy.

He walks up to the front with his flare. "Hold your breath."

Manami loves his hero name. "I love it! My turn! My turn!" She races up to the front and flips her board around. "The Water Nymph: Tsunami!"

"AAH! I LOVE IT!" Midnight squeals. "Approved!"

Students continue to go up. Mina's Alien Queen is rejected. Frog girl goes as Froppy. Kirishima goes as Red Riot. Jiro is Earphone Jack. Many arms is Tentacole. Sero is Cellophane. Tailman, Sugarman, Pinky, Chargebolt, Creati, Shoto, Tsukuyomi, Grape Juice, and Anima.

Katsuki goes up next. "King Explosion Murder."

"I'm gonna say that one's a little too violent," Midnight says.

"Huh?! What do you mean?!" he shouts.

"Why don't you be Explosion Boy?" Kirishima calls out.

Manami giggles at that one. "Good one!"

"Shut up, pointy teeth!" he shouts.

Manami, Kaminari, Kirishima, and Sero all begin laughing and poking fun at him.

"Murder Man!" Manami jokes.

"Why don't we go outside, and I'll show you all exactly why murder should be in my name?!" He stomps back to his seat.

Uraraka stands up and moves to the front. Uravity. Iida uses his first name. Izuku chooses Deku, pissing off Bakugo.

Katsuki goes up right after. "Lord Explosion Murder!"

"That's basically the same thing," Midnight deadpans.

The two K's laugh again.

Mana perks up. "Oh! Kats! How about Dynamite? I think that's a fitting name!"

"Ooh! Good one!" Kirishima agrees.

Katsuki scoffs. "Fine, whatever." He stomps back to his seat, slumping in his chair.

After the last name is decided, Aizawa wakes from the dead.

"Now that everyone has decided on your hero names, we can go back to talking about your internships. They last for one week. As for who you'll be working with, those of you who are on the board will choose from among your offers. Everyone else will have a different list. You have a lot to think about. There are around forty agencies across the country who've agreed to take on interns from your class. Each agency has a different specialty that its heroes focus on. Keep that in mind."

"Imagine you were Thirteen, you'd want to choose a place that focuses on rescuing people not fighting villains," Midnight speaks up. "Understand?"

"Think carefully before you decide," Aizawa finishes.

"Yes, sir," the class responds.

Everyone is given their list as the bell rings for a short break. They have until the weekend to choose aka two days.

Once Manami gets her packet, she quickly flips through it to find the one person she wants. She stands up with an excited scream. "Edgeshot!"

"Really? Congrats!" Kirishima grins.

"So he actually put in an offer," Sero says. "I've heard he's kind of a hard ass."

"Yeah, he never really interns anyone or has sidekicks cause he's more solo," Sato joins in.

"Revelry in the dark," Tokoyami nods with crossed arms.

"Hey, Ma-Manami? Why did you want Edgeshot to mentor you?" Izuku asks as Iida and Uraraka walk up.

Mina, Kaminari, Kirishima, and Sero gather around Bakugo to see who enlisted him. They also wanted to tease him.

Manami moves to Izuku's desk. "Oh, well his quirk mainly! Our quirks are similar in a way."

"Oh, like how you turn into a puddle?" Uraraka asks.

"Yeah!" Manami nods. She holds up her hand and turns it into water then expands it around her. "I can stretch my body out when I'm in my water form, but I don't have great control over it. I want his help for that."

"Of course, I know how to braid! What loser doesn't at least know that?!" Bakugo shouts, cutting off Iida from responding.

The four turn to the group.

Manami grins, bouncing up happily. "You guys admiring my handiwork? Doesn't he look good?" She runs a pointer finger along one of the braids as Bakugo smacks her hand away.

Mina gives Bakugo a shit-eating grin. "So you don't know how to braid hair."

"I know how to fucking braid hair!"

Mana grins. "It's true! I taught him!"

"Oh?" Kaminari and Sero grin.

"You two hang out? Outside of school?" Kirishima asks, slyly looking between the two as if insinuating something.

"We live near each other," Manami answers. "Kats slept over the night after the USJ. I taught him then. Oh! Did you know that he likes roman–"

Bakugo shoots up and covers her mouth with his hand. "Shut. the. fuck. up."

She tilts her head back to look up at him, saying something that just comes out in an unheard mumble. But it's cute.

"Oh?" Mina grins. "Secrets?"

"Slept over?" Sero smirks, poking more fun. "You're parents allowed him to sleep over?"

Bakugo rolls his eyes before suddenly yanking his hand back in disgust. "Did you just lick my hand?! Fucking disgusting!"

Manami answers Sero like she didn't just lick Bakugo's hand. "Ah, my parents died when I was younger from a villain attack. It's just me and my nephew, whose parents also died."

The atmosphere in the room becomes somber.

"Sorry, I didn't know..." Sero says, awkwardly rubbing the back of his neck.

"It's okay! I was really young when my parents were killed. So I... I don't really remember them, or my brother 2 years ago. He wasn't really around too much most of my life anyway cause he was a hero." She shrugs and perks up. "But enough of sad things! I'm okay! See?" She gives them a big smile. Her eyes then widen. "Oh no! I gotta find someone to watch Kota for a week!"

Everyone seems to release a sigh of relief they didn't know they were holding, chucking at her quick change of mood.

~~~
Manami has picked up Kota, and they're currently on their way home.
She sighs, causing Kota to look up at her.
"What's wrong?"
She smiles down at him. "Nothing. Your usual babysitter can only do Saturdays as she has school herself."
"Okay?"
"I have to find someone to watch over you for a week," she clarifies.
"What, why?" he looks up at her alarmed.
"I'm going to be interning with a pro hero for a week, and you can't come with me."
"Why noooot?"
"Because you can't. I gotta find someone to watch you, and I don't know who I can trust to. You couldn't go with the Pussycats because of school."
He crosses his arms with a pout. "I don't wanna."
...
The next day, Manami comes in all slumped and depressed.
Mina is immediately on top of it. "Mana? What's wrong? Why is one of our cinnamon rolls sad?"
"I can't go on my internship..." Mana sighs, slumping onto her desk.
"The fuck not?" Bakugo huffs.
"I don't have anyone who can watch my nephew, Kota."
"Pussycats?"
"They live over 3 hours away and are busy."
"Well, you can't not go!" Mina exclaims.
"Yeah, it's like a vial part of us becoming heroes!" Kirishima says.
"I knoooowwww!" Mana groans, covering her head with her arms. "But I can't just leave him alone. Especially now."
"What do you mean?" Deku asks.
"The villain who killed my brother and his wife somehow escaped prison. He's gonna wanna finish off the family of them I'm sure."
"Which means you and Kota," Kaminari says.
"Yeah..."
Aizawa comes in the room, feeling the drop in energy compared to usual. "What's with the depressing aura in here?"
"Sensei! Manami says she can't go on the internship!" Mina reports.
His eyes sharpen into a glare. "Why not?"
"Kota," she answers after sitting up.
It takes a second for Aizawa to remember Kota before he nods. "See me during lunch."
"Hai, sensei..." Manami sighs, slumping back on her desk.
~~~

Lunch rolls around before long, and off with Aizawa Manami goes.

He takes her into a small meeting room.

"Now what's going on?"

"I have to stay and watch Kota, so I can't go on an internship. Muscular killed his parents, so I can't leave him with a simple babysitter."

"Right," Aizawa sighs, hearing the news about the villain. "Then I'll watch him."

She blinks. "Really?!"

"Yes."

She pulls the man into a tight hug. "You're the best sensei ever!" She releases him. "I'll go and get things prepared then! Thank you, Aizawa sensei!"

He sits there watching her leave the room and sighs. "What did I just agree to?"

🌊🌊🌊

A few days later, class 1A is gathered at the train station with their stuff to go intern.

"Everyone has their costumes, right?" Aizawa asks. "Remember you don't have permission to wear them out in public yet. And don't lose them or anything."

"Gotcha!" Mina squeals.

"Speak properly. It's 'yes sir' Ashido."

She slumps. "Yes sir..."

"Make sure you mind your manners with other heroes during your internships. Now get to it."

"Yes sir," they reply, everyone separating to their trains.

Todoroki watches Iida move off, and his two friends go after him.

Manami moves off to Bakugo, knowing his train is about to depart. "Don't cause Best Jeanist any problems."

Katsuki scoffs. "Whatever."

She smiles. "Well, I'll miss ya!" She lunges forward, giving him a quick lifted hug. A furious embarrassed blush spreads across his face as he freezes. She's quick to let go and run away, so he doesn't try to explode her. She laughs as he starts yelling at her.

She notices she has a bit of time, heading over to Aizawa with Kota.

"Please, I don't wanna stay behind," Kota begs her one last time, puppy dog eyes and all.

She kneels down, pulling him into a hug. "I will be back before you know it. Be good for Aizawa sensei. He'll take good care of you." She stands up to talk to Aizawa. "If there are any problems just call me."

Aizawa nods. "I will."

Manami gives Kota one last hug and kiss before she gets on her ride, finding Mineta also on this train. She sits beside him.

"You're on this train too?" Mineta asks.

"Yeah, I'm interning with Edgeshot. What about you?"

He begins to drool, fingers twitching. "The super sexy Mount Lady!"

"Ah. I think they do work in the same area," Manami thinks. "So! What do you wanna do in the meantime?!"

He grins. "I could think of a few things..."

"Oo! How about Go Fish! I brought some cards with me!"

"...Why did you bring cards with you?"

"I like to ask strangers if they'd like to play while on a long train ride."

So pure. "Uh, sure."

~~~
Mineta had to get off two stops before her. A somewhat annoyed Mount Lady waiting for him. Him latching onto her leg was the last thing Manami saw before the train departed again.
She's now inside Edgeshot's office, waiting for him to appear. She's been waiting for a good 10 minutes. One of his sidekicks came and took her luggage to the room she'll be in for the week.
Manami shifts, looking in a certain direction of the room. Truth is, Edgeshot has been in the room since she arrived. She noticed rather quickly that he was. Manami figured she'd wait until he was ready to talk and went to sit down.
He was moving around the room in his stretched out thin form. He was observing her, testing her. He was trying to gather why she wanted him to intern her.
She starts to follow him around the room with her eyes.
He smirks, moving to his desk chair and reforming. "So you could see me."
"Not really see," she responds. "More like sense."
"How?"
"You are a liquid moving around the room erratically. Given your quirk, it could only be you."
"You're able to manipulate liquids, correct?"
"Anything with water," she answers.
"And why did you want me to intern you?"
"I want to be able to mimic your quirk. My body is water, and I'm able to manipulate myself into different shapes. I want to be able to control myself to the thinness that you're able to."
He nods thoughtfully. "Then let's get to work."
