The next day, Aurelia invited Dylan over to her house. They had talked about watching some movies and just hanging out, and Aurelia hoped it would take her mind off the drama with Walker. When Dylan arrived, he greeted her with his usual bright smile.
"Yo, Aurelia! Thanks for inviting me. It's good to see you again."
"Good to see you too, Dylan," Aurelia replied, leading him into the living room. "I thought we could watch a movie or something. I need a break from everything."
Dylan plopped down on the couch, making himself comfortable. "Sounds perfect. What are we watching?"
Aurelia grabbed a stack of DVDs and laid them out on the coffee table. "I was thinking something light and fun. Maybe a comedy?"
Dylan scanned the titles and picked one. "How about this one? 'The Intern' always makes me laugh."
"Great choice," Aurelia said, popping the DVD into the player. As the movie started, they settled in, the easy banter between them making her feel more at ease.

Halfway through the movie, Aurelia's phone rang. She glanced at the screen and saw Walker's name flashing. Her heart skipped a beat. She debated whether to answer, not wanting to interrupt the good time she was having with Dylan, but also curious about why Walker was calling.
"Do you mind if I take this?" she asked Dylan.
"Not at all," he replied, his expression understanding.
Aurelia stood up and walked to the kitchen, taking a deep breath before answering. "Hello?"
"Aurelia, it's Walker," came his voice, tense and urgent. "We need to talk."
"Can it wait?" she asked, trying to keep her voice steady. "I'm kind of in the middle of something."
"Is Dylan there?" Walker asked, his tone sharp.
"Yes, he's here. We're just watching a movie," Aurelia replied, feeling a mix of irritation and confusion. "Why do you care?"
"I just... I don't want you to get hurt," Walker said, his voice softer now. "Dylan has a reputation, you know?"
"Dylan's been nothing but kind to me," Aurelia snapped back. "And what reputation walker ! He's literally one of your best friends plus one of mine I know him "
There was a long pause on the other end. "Aurelia, I just... I miss hanging out with you."
Aurelia's heart ached at his words, but she forced herself to stay strong. "Walker, no stop , you can't just swoop in and act all protective now. You have to decide what you want."
Walker sighed. "I know. Can we talk later? In person?"
"No," Aurelia said, her voice softening. "I'll think about it."
She hung up and took a moment to compose herself before heading back to the living room. Dylan looked up at her with a curious expression.
"Everything okay?" he asked.
"Yeah, just some drama," Aurelia said, sitting back down. "Let's get back to the movie."
They finished the movie, laughing at the funny parts and enjoying each other's company. When the credits rolled, Dylan turned to her.
"So, do you want to talk about it?" he asked gently.
Aurelia hesitated but then nodded. "It's Walker. We've been friends forever, but lately things have been... complicated."
Dylan nodded, listening attentively. "Complicated how?"
Aurelia took a deep breath. "He's been acting jealous and protective, especially after I posted pictures with you. It's like he doesn't want me to hang out with anyone else."
"Sounds like he might have feelings for you," Dylan said thoughtfully. "But he's not handling it well."
"Maybe," Aurelia sighed. "But it's confusing. One minute he's distant, the next he's all overprotective. I don't know what to think."
"Well, for what it's worth, I think you're amazing," Dylan said with a reassuring smile. "And anyone would be lucky to have you as a friend or more."
Aurelia blushed. "Thanks, Dylan. That means a lot."
They decided to go for a walk to get some fresh air. As they strolled through the park near her house, they talked about everything from their favorite movies to funny on-set stories. Dylan's easygoing nature made Aurelia feel lighter, and she was grateful for his presence.
When they returned to her house, they sat on the porch, sipping on cold drinks and enjoying the evening breeze. Dylan looked at her with a thoughtful expression.
"Can I ask you something?" he said.
"Sure," Aurelia replied, curious.
"Do you think you might have feelings for Walker?" Dylan asked gently.
Aurelia looked down, fidgeting with her drink. "I don't know. I've been trying to figure that out myself. He's my best friend, but sometimes I wonder if there's something more."
Dylan nodded. "It's okay to be confused. Just take your time and figure out what's right for you."
"Thanks, Dylan," Aurelia said, grateful for his understanding. "I really appreciate you being here for me."
"Anytime," Dylan replied with a warm smile. "I'm always here if you need someone to talk to."
As the evening went on, they continued to chat and laugh, the conversation flowing easily. But in the back of Aurelia's mind, Walker's words lingered. She knew they needed to have a real conversation, but she wasn't ready to face it just yet.
Aurelia and Dylan were relaxing on the couch when her phone rang again. It was Walker, calling her this time. With a sigh, she picked up.
"Hey," she said, trying to keep her tone neutral.
"Hey, Aurelia," Walker's voice was strained. "I saw your post. You're hanging out with Dylan again?"
"Yeah, we had a great time," she replied, not hiding her irritation. "Why do you care so much, Walker?"
"I just... I saw the comments and, I don't know, it feels weird," he admitted. "And then there's Emma—"
Aurelia's frustration boiled over. "Yeah, Emma. Who is she, Walker? You canceled on me to hang out with her and didn't even bother to tell me."
"It's not like that," Walker started to explain, but Aurelia cut him off.
"Then what is it like? Because from where I'm standing, it looks like you're playing games with me," she snapped, her voice shaking.
"Aurelia, listen—" Walker began, but she couldn't hold back.
"No, Walker, you listen. You can't have it both ways. You can't get jealous and possessive just cause I like you ! And when I hang out with someone else just while you're off with Emma. It's not fair," she said, tears welling up in her eyes.
There was a long silence on the other end of the line. Finally, Walker spoke, his voice softer. "I'm sorry, Aurelia. "
Aurelia took a deep breath, trying to calm herself. "Whatever"
Walker sighed. "I know. Can we talk in person? Please?"
Aurelia hesitated. "Maybe. I'll let you know."
She hung up and put her phone down, feeling emotionally drained. Dylan watched her with concern.
"Are you okay?" he asked gently.
Aurelia nodded, wiping away a tear. "Yeah, I just need to figure things out."
Dylan reached out and took her hand. "I'm here for you, whatever you need."
"Thanks, Dylan," she said, giving him a small smile. "Let's just watch another movie and forget about everything for a while."
As they settled in for another movie, Aurelia's thoughts drifted. She knew she needed to have a serious talk with Walker, but for now, she was grateful for Dylan's understanding and support. She just hoped she could find a way to make sense of her feelings and figure out what she truly wanted.
