ʳᵒᵐ ᶜᵒᵐˢ !

It was one of those quiet Saturday afternoons, the kind that seemed to beg for cozy blankets, popcorn, and, of course, a romantic comedy marathon. Aurelie and Walker were hanging out at her place, both lounging on the couch. The room was filled with the scent of freshly popped popcorn, and the soft glow of string lights added to the ambiance of the afternoon.

Aurelie leaned against the armrest, a pillow propped under her head as she scrolled through Netflix, trying to find the perfect movie. "Alright," she said, tapping the screen. "We need a good romcom. You know, the kind where everything is just ridiculously cheesy, but you can't stop watching because it's just so cute."

Walker, who had been lazily stretched out on the couch beside her, gave her a skeptical look. "Do I really have to watch these with you?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.

Aurelie smirked. "I've had to endure all your superhero movies. You owe me." She glanced over at him with a playful grin. "Plus, I know you secretly love them."

Walker rolled his eyes dramatically. "Okay, fine. But no too cheesy ones. I don't need any of that 'confession of love in the rain' nonsense."

Aurelie burst out laughing. "Oh, come on! That's the best part! When they're standing in the pouring rain, confessing their undying love, and it's just—" She broke off, looking at Walker with a mischievous glint in her eye. "You'd totally do it, right?"

Walker groaned. "No way. I'd be soaked and freezing, and probably look like a mess. Not my vibe."

She tilted her head, pretending to be deep in thought. "So, you wouldn't stand in the rain and kiss me if I told you I loved you?"

Walker looked over at her, his expression softening as he met her gaze. "Okay, maybe I'd do it... for you. But only if you were standing there with me. I'm not the only one getting wet."

Aurelie's heart skipped a beat, and she quickly looked away, pretending to scroll through the movie list again. "Alright, enough with the cheesy 'romcom' moments," she said, trying to hide her smile. "Let's pick something good."

Walker chuckled, leaning over and nudging her with his shoulder. "You're cute when you pretend to be all tough."

Aurelie raised an eyebrow at him. "Oh, I'm tough, am I?" She shifted, moving a bit closer to him, and grabbed the remote. "Alright, let's settle this. You're going to have to help me pick, though."

For the next few minutes, they bantered back and forth, each suggesting ridiculous movies until they finally settled on one. As the opening credits rolled, Walker glanced over at her, his expression softening. "You know, I never thought I'd be the type to sit through a romcom marathon... but it's kind of nice."

Aurelie grinned, nudging him back. "I told you. It's a whole vibe. You just have to get into it."

As the movie played, there were moments where they both laughed at the over-the-top scenes, the predictability of it all, but also the sweet moments that made their hearts flutter. At one point, as the couple on-screen shared a kiss in the rain, Aurelie leaned over to Walker with a grin. "See? That's the moment I was talking about."

Walker, rolling his eyes but smiling, nudged her. "You're just trying to get me to kiss you in the rain, aren't you?"

Aurelie smirked, her eyes twinkling. "Maybe." She leaned in just a little closer, her voice lowering as she teased, "You know, if we were in a romcom, this would be the part where you lean in and kiss me."

Walker laughed, clearly trying to keep his cool, but there was a softness in his gaze. "Alright, fine," he said, his voice low. "If you want it so badly, I guess I'll just have to make your romcom dreams come true."

Without warning, he leaned in, brushing his lips against hers, the kiss slow and soft. It was a moment that felt both tender and thrilling, like a scene pulled right from one of the movies they were watching.

When they pulled apart, they both stared at each other for a moment, the air thick with the unspoken words that hung between them. Aurelie grinned. "That was pretty good," she said, her voice teasing.

Walker smirked. "I told you. I make the best romcom scenes happen."

"Yeah, you do," she said softly, her heart racing. "You definitely do."

As the movie played on, neither of them could focus on the screen anymore. The connection between them felt undeniable, the shared laughter, the easy camaraderie, and now the kiss.

They were living their own romcom—just without the rain.
