Back in Sunnyside Trailer Park, Nellie tries to celebrate the bit of luck that happened to her that day. After all, she's one step closer to leaving Riverdale behind her.

Back in the trailer, Nellie let herself fall down onto the small bench. Taking a deep breath, she focused on the text that was dancing in front of her eyes. Words twisted and turned, letters changed places. She silently mouthed the words as she broke them apart and reconstructed them. After what took her too long, she somehow got a grasp of what was expected from her.

It was nothing more than being a housemaid for the Four Seasons. Cleaning and preparing the rooms. On special events it could happen she would need to cater, but normally she was solely needed behind the screens of Riverdale's most luxurious hotel.

Her eyes skimmed over the rules noted in the contract once more: no smoking/drinking during hours, no relationships of any form with the clients, no stealing from the hotel or the clients,... the list was clear as day. One misstep, and she was thrown out.

The turning of the lock, brought Nellie back to the trailer instead of the wealthy lobby of the Four Seasons. She turned her head, just in time to see Sweet Pea hunch over to enter the small trailer. A small girl followed him in. Dressed in the same uniform, the girl stood still to observe the stranger sitting at Sweet Pea's table.

"Toni, Nellie. Nellie, Toni," Sweet Pea said without looking up as he went for the fridge. Nellie immediately stood, leaving her contract on the table to shake Toni's hand.

The tiny girl looked at her from underneath her lashes, obviously still making out how to perceive Nellie.

Suddenly, Sweet Pea turned around, confused. His large hand was wrapped around a bottle of red wine. "Is this yours?" He asked Nellie, sticking his chin in her direction.

Nellie let out a small smile, "I wanted to celebrate my new job with you. After all, you let me stay in your house," she admitted.

Toni broke out into a grin. "Looks like the right kind of people to surround yourself with, Sweets," she said, slapping Nellie friendly on the back before making her way to Sweet Pea's unmade bed. She sat down, contently leaning against the thin wall.

Shaking his head with laughter, Sweet Pea uncorked the bottle and served three glasses. "What'you got?" he said, shoving a cup towards Nellie, who gladly accepted it.

"Housekeeping at the Four Seasons," she said, uncertain of their reaction.

Toni rose her eyebrows in surprise and Sweet Pea let out a whistle. "Good job, newbie," Toni replied rising her glass to Nellie before she took a large gulp. Her nose scrunched as the taste of the red wine tinged her tongue.

Nellie flinched, immediately excusing herself "It's the cheapest bottle I could find," she explained the sour taste of the wine. Sweet Pea laughed it off. "Toni just needs some beer to wash away the taste, she'll get over it,"

Nellie observed the two quietly as the two Serpents chatted about the events at school. Her mind went back to the previous day when Toni had been here as well, calming Sweet Pea after the sheriff's visit. When they had been talking about her. Shaking her head to clear it from what Sweet Pea had said about her, she went back to her glass of wine.

"Jughead is going insane," Toni said, vacantly observing the label of her bottle of beer. "This whole eviction thing is making him reckless,"

Sweet Pea let out a grunt, "Honestly, what does he think he's doing? He prances into the Serpents and suddenly he thinks he owns us,"

Toni shook her head, "He's FP's kid, and he means well. But his quick change of heart hasn't gone unnoticed by the older members. We need to protect him, Sweets,"

Nellie shifted in her seat. She had met Jughead on her first night in Riverdale. He didn't seem like the type to join a gang but neither did the pink-haired girl sitting in front of her. Looks could be deceiving she thought. Her gaze lingered around Sweet Pea.

He was casually leaning against the counter of the kitchen, his own bottle of beer carelessly dangling from between his long fingers. At least he looked like he belonged in a gang, she thought. Although he was still in his Riverdale High uniform, his dark brooding eyes were filled with a constant rage. His muscles were taut against his blue polo. A snake tattoo peaked from underneath his collar.

She had to tear her gaze away not to be mesmerized by the boy. The alarm in her head was still predicting danger whenever he was in her view.

"With his article, he put us on the list of potential thieves, Toni. Sure, he means well, but he doesn't even apologize for his mistakes." Sweet Pea said. The camaraderie between the two was vanishing as the conversation continued.

"As if you ever apologized to the Andrew's kid," Toni scoffed, sitting straighter onto Sweet Pea's bed.

"That wasn't my fault. I warned him and yet he threatened us." Sweet Pea bit back, taking a large gulp of his beer. With his hand, he roughly wiped his chin clean.

"You just can't stand those Northsiders," Toni shrugged, getting up from her seat.

"And you can?" Sweet Pea asked but it was more an accusation.

Toni looked back at Sweet Pea "They're giving us a chance, Sweets, we should give them one too,"

Instead of bringing sense to the Serpent, his eyes were narrowed into slits. "They aren't giving us a chance, Topaz. They closed down our school. It's the least they can do to provide us with some education."

Toni shook her head, "It has been a long day, Sweet Pea. I really can't have lecturing you right now," She brought her gaze back to Nellie who had silently been watching the two Serpents. "It was nice meeting you, Nellie," and with that the pink haired girl left the trailer in a destructive silence.

Closing his eyes, Sweet Pea downed his beer. Nellie awkwardly looked at the remnants of her wine staining the simple glass in her hand. When she looked back up, Sweet Pea was running his hand through his messy black hair. His shoulders were tense when he turned away from Nellie to place his empty bottle onto the counter. He took a deep breath to control his temper.

He was easily infuriated, Nellie stated, careful not to trigger him any further.

"Congrats on the job, Nellie," Sweet Pea said, trying to calm his voice but the sound came out restricted.

"Thanks," Nellie mumbled, slowly rising to her feet to place her glass on the counter next to Sweet Pea's bottle.

"Toni seems really nice," she said small talk, deciding against leaving her clutter on the counter and running the water of the tap to quickly wash the dishes.

Sweet Pea scoffed.

"She is, though," he came back on his initial reaction. "She's just a bit naive sometimes,"

"There's nothing naive with seeing things positively," Nellie replied without thinking. She thought Toni was kind. The girl reminded her of her own mother. At this moment it didn't even bother her that Sweet Pea had been complaining about her to Toni. She appreciated that the girl came to see and value Nellie for herself.

When Sweet Pea remained silent, she dared to look behind her shoulder. He was leaning on the counter, his dark eyes set on her. Her heart missed a beat under his intense stare.

The moment passed, however, as Sweet Pea shook his head, "Perhaps, but it is quite dangerous."

Confusion spread on Nellie's face. She turned around just in time to spot Sweet Pea standing behind her. His hand was already resting on the doorknob to the bathroom.

In the cramped space, it was as if Sweet Pea filled her vision. The strong scent of his cologne wafted over her, embracing her and daring her instinct to reach out for him. The blaring sirens in her head were completely ignored when she noticed his dark brown eyes skimming over her face when she lifted her head.

"The disappointment," Sweet Pea breathed out, clearly searching for words himself. He suddenly grasped the doorknob tightly and yanked the door open.

"The disappointment is always greater when you refuse to believe in its possibility," he finished his sentence before the echo of the slamming door left Nellie alone. Her hands were still dripping from the water in the sink. Rooted in her spot, she heard the shower running.

Whatever had happened in the cramped space in the kitchen, it had been nothing but her imagination, she reprimanded herself. A natural reaction to the boy that was showering behind the door in front of her. Determined not to be near when Sweet Pea returned to the room, Nellie let the water in the sink flow and scurried back to her room.

She easily dismissed the sweater and jeans and dove underneath the thick duvets. As she heard the water run, her mind was occupied by the boy standing underneath the water. The vision of his bare back early in the morning was now graced by slowly falling droplets. Her fingertips itched with the desire to follow their trace. She bit the inside of her cheek, shutting her eyes close to prevent the images to take over her heart.

She tossed and turned in bed, only relaxing when the noise left the room next to hers. Instead, she focused on the sound of passing cars on the highway until her heart beat slowed down. Until her mind stopped considering the possibility that was Sweet Pea.

After all, the disappointment would be heartbreaking.
