IM LOVING HER ACTIVE ERA
Elena lounged on the living room couch, wrapped in her favorite Star Wars blanket as Attack of the Clones played on the TV.
She had a bowl of popcorn resting on her lap, occasionally tossing pieces into her mouth while her eyes stayed glued to the screen.
The front door creaked open, and without turning her head, she called out, "Come in! It's open!"
Alex and Amelia strolled in, a chill December breeze trailing behind them.
Alex immediately dropped his bag by the door, dramatically brushing off his shoulders. "What is it with your house always being freezing?"
"Because it's called winter, Alex," Amelia said, rolling her eyes.
She plopped down next to Elena on the couch. "What're you watching?"
"Attack of the Clones," Elena replied, not taking her eyes off the screen. "It's the best one after Revenge of the Sith."
Alex groaned loudly, throwing himself onto the other end of the couch. "Are we really going to do this, El? You and your Star Wars obsession?"
"Correction—our Star Wars obsession," Elena chimed in, handing Amelia a handful of popcorn from her bowl. "It's one of the only good things Alex has ever introduced me to."
"Hey!" Alex protested, pointing an accusatory finger at her. "Who showed you Lord of the Rings?"
"You did," Elena admitted, "but only after I forced you to sit through The Notebook."
Amelia burst out laughing, finally tearing her gaze away from the screen. "Wait, you willingly watched The Notebook?"
"I had no choice!" Alex said, feigning despair. "She threatened to delete my Xbox profile if I didn't."
The girls exchanged a look before bursting into laughter again.
As the movie played on, the trio settled into an easy rhythm.
Amelia stretched her legs out across the couch while Alex dramatically sighed whenever Anakin appeared on screen.
"Wait, is this the one where Anakin says that weird sand line?" Alex suddenly asked.
"Yes," Elena and Amelia said in unison.
"It's iconic!" Elena defended, throwing a piece of popcorn at Alex.
"It's cringe," Alex argued, dodging the popcorn.
Amelia snorted. "Leave it to Alex to miss the romance for the memes."
Elena rolled her eyes but grinned as she turned back to the screen.
The tension-filled scene between Anakin and Padmé started to unfold, but before Elena could fully immerse herself, Alex leaned over with a smirk.
"You know, you're totally gonna be like Anakin," he said, his tone smug.
Elena raised an eyebrow. "What are you talking about?"
"Brooding, dramatic, and obsessed with someone you can't stop texting," Alex continued, wiggling his eyebrows.
"Alex, you're ridiculous," Elena muttered, her face heating up slightly.
"Oh, you know what I'm talking about." Alex's grin widened. "Mason."
Amelia gasped, her eyes lighting up. "Wait, Mason Mason?!"
"Okay, can we not?" Elena said, rolling her eyes and grabbing the remote to pause the movie.
Amelia leaned forward, grinning. "This is huge. Are we talking Star Wars-level drama here?"
"There's no drama because there's nothing going on," Elena said firmly, but the slight flush in her cheeks didn't help her case.
"Uh-huh," Alex said, smirking. "Just friends who text all the time and flirt "
Amelia giggled, nudging Elena. "Honestly, I ship it. You and Mason would be adorable."
"You guys are the worst," Elena muttered, crossing her arms.
"Come on, admit it," Alex said, leaning back with a triumphant grin. "You guys have chemistry."
Elena gave him a flat look. "The only chemistry we have is on-screen."
"Yeah, and sometimes that translates to real life," Alex teased.
Amelia sighed dreamily. "Padme and Anakin vibes - minus the death and Turing evil part "
Elena groaned, tossing a pillow at her. "Can we just watch the movie?"
"Fine," Alex said, raising his hands in surrender. "But this conversation isn't over."
"Of course it is," Elena shot back, hitting play on the remote.
As the movie resumed, the teasing faded into occasional snickers and sarcastic comments from Alex.
