"I'm only cryptic and Machiavellian 'cause I care." Felicity always has her head in the clouds, dreaming of the 'what-ifs' that make realists look down on her. Years of isolation from kids her age when she was younger left her socially awkward in even the most simplest conversations, but one thing is for sure, she is very observant and descriptive, as well as book smart as one can tell by her unique and advanced vocabulary, but her biggest passion is her most fatal flaw, as she becomes rather obsessive and preoccupied with her writing that she fails to take responsibility for the world around her, and her naivety fueled by her desire to be seen and appreciated clouds her judgement, making her extremely doormatted. Her devotion is unyielding, especially when she has her heart set on someone that she trusts, and even if she gets hurt, she comes back when she's wanted again. Though quite a depressing cycle, it's the only way she knows how to love: unconditionally.

✷ MARTIN BRENNNER is the worst man alive, and Felicity was his only child that he could truly call his... though he never called her anything but her name. He never treated like anything special than a stranger that he shared a house with. Felicity knew that taking care of her was a chore for him, and he never know what to say to her when he would get his share of the custody and they would spend alone time together. Felicity completely cut him off after she resigned from her job and now has a restraining order against him. Anger about the true extent of his job and a undeniable sense of grief led up to the decision, and she lives in a constant state of paranoia that her dad is going to take her son, or have her killed, or both. Her father is her biggest fear.
✷ DOROTHY EYER was the first best friend that Felicity had ever had. An instant spark ignited between them because of their similar personalities, and when they would go out on the town (even if it was to places that Felicity wasn't too fond of) she would enjoy being in the presence of someone who genuinely enjoyed her company. Her and Dorothy still keep in contact over the phone and sometimes she swings by the press  to see her and ask her about Gabe, but personal time together has come and gone, and they have both moved on with their lives.
✷ JOYCE BYERS is a kind person, at least to Felicity. When Joyce worked in Melvald's shop and Felicity would be browsing the shelves, they would spark up conversations, albeit short ones. Joyce contacted Felicity about putting Will's missing poster in the press for a prolonged period of time when the hope of him being found was thinning, and she obliged the best way she could. She admires Joyce very much.
BACKSTORY.
A house without love raises a voyager: a child seeking out the attention she lacked in all parts of the world, even in the most brooding places. Martin and Eileen Brenner were pressured to get married, figuring that a marriage without love was better than the looming shame of having a child out of wedlock. From the beginning, Felicity was a burden. A burden in her mother's womb that was an even bigger burden outside of it. Felicity doesn't remember ever laughing with her parents, or the two of them being in the same room and not dreading each other's existence. Family dinners were full of muffled chewing and the faint scratches of silverware grinding against plates. When she was thirteen, they finally ripped the bandaid off of their bullet hole of a marriage and divorced. Felicity was raised primarily by her grandparents during the settlement and it was the best few months of her entire life because they cared for her effortlessly. When everything was said and done, things went back to the closest thing to normal that it could be. She stayed in the company of her mother most of the time, who drowned out her loneliness with liquor and left her daughter to clean up her mess whenever she got sloppy, and on weekends, she would ride to Hawkins with her father (even though most of their personal alone time with each other was her sitting in the lab waiting room for hours a day, waiting for him to finish up work). She attended college and graduated with a degree in journalism, but pursued various jobs and quit them as soon as she found herself unsatisfied in life— which struck her very often. When her grandmother was laid to rest, she conversed with her father about a job inquiry as a receptionist at the Hawkins lab, only as a place holder for her until she could figure things out. Truth be told, she ended up a lot more lost than she had ever been in her entire life. Taking that job was the worst mistake she had ever done.

WHO FELL FIRST.
Felicity. Full heartedly Felicity. She thought that he was an angel when she first laid eyes on him. Though, unfortunately, whether he wanted to or not, Peter did fall harder.
HEADCANONS.
✷ First off, let me preface this: their canon relationship is not healthy and it is not intended to be taken that way. What they had, whether they had good moments of genuine affection or not, should not be romanticized. He blatantly manipulated her and played with her feelings and Felicity showed blind devotion to him out of a genuine thirst for love.
✷ These two love to yap. Especially about things that they like. Felicity adores when he speaks so passionately about spiders and she clings onto every single word. It's not just him that draws her in, but it's the fact that he knows so much about them.
✷ He kept her in his grasp long-term to aid in his plan. He wanted her to help him under the guise of him breaking out and freeing the others, but he deceived her and that ultimately did not happen. She fetched blueprints in classified rooms for him and distracted guards when he needed to sneak off somewhere. She did it all just because he asked her to.
✷ He would subconsciously draw her on napkins and paper during his free time and get so mad at himself for thinking about her so often, viewing her as a pawn rather than a genuine lover.
✷ Plot twist... there was some genuine feelings there, much to his dismay. It just wasn't enough to hold him back. Felicity was a good piece of human connection to have. One that wasn't lab employees or doctors. She was the first comfort he had felt in years, and he felt strangely at ease whenever she was around.
✷ Their final interaction was their break up. He told her that she was no longer of use to him and she needed to move on with her life. He made it seem like he never loved her so that it would be easier for her to get over him, figuring that she could just hate him in the end and act like their relationship was nothing but a mess. Her final act of devotion was leaving him... just like he told her to. She didn't even mention that she could hear his voice breaking when he said that final, haunting word to her: go.
✷ She would bring it upon herself to sneak him out of the lab for an hour or two when she knew that nobody would be there to catch them. Their first kiss was a bright December morning surrounded by snow.

✷ Though it may not look like it, Felicity does swear like a sailor. Mostly when she's frustrated or upset. However, when she became a mom, she had to get creative because she didn't want to swear in front of Gabriel. She replaces swear words in her sentence with something stupid. You know that one scene in Inside Out 2 when Joy says "Jiminy mother-loving toaster strudle?" Yeah, that's her.
