On one hand, she presents herself as glamorous, stylish, and prissy, but on the other hand, she's protective, selfless, and often reckless. Elissa possesses a strange and uncanny ability to make a name for herself no matter where she goes, and her ability to light up any room is not something to be trifled with, her naturally flirty behavior aids her in deepening conversations and making connections—whether she's attracted to said person she's mingling with or not— and it gets her far. She's very distrusting of people that she deems to be threats, which is why it took her some time to fully put her trust in Shanks. ✷ AXE-HAND MORGAN only has one thing in common with his eldest: rage. Rage that can only a father and daughter can bear. Elissa can't remember the last time she had a meaningful conversation with her father; one that meant something, and one that helped her become a better person. Even though he would remind her that she was his favorite
child, she always felt like that title came with unwarranted pressure. He trained her like an abused dog, going as far as using extreme forms of action to ensure that she could sustain herself in any situation possible, such as putting her on a deserted island without resources for almost a month when she was thirteen (which, by the way, actually happened). He additinally sheltered her from any form of femininity, as he would've been damned to have a daughter rather than a son to carry on his legacy. Elissa never saw her father so infuriated than the day she decided to try and wear her mother's makeup. He accused her of intentionally trying to go against him, and the argument ended with bruises on her face. ' it was the first time he ever went for her face ' . Morgan still held out hope that Elissa was still alive after the massacre at Ruby Island, but all of his efforts in finding his missing child have proven futile.
✷ KORINA MORGAN was the only adult that truly cared for Elissa. Some of her earliest memories were her watching her mother put on her makeup and her reading bed time stories to her. Her mother taught her Greek, and after she unexpectedly died while giving birth to Helmeppo, Elissa's father prevented anything that involved the Greek language as it reminded him too much of his deceased wife. Elissa's first act of rebellion against Morgan was in her mother's name, where she would go out and snag greek textbooks and study them for hours on end until she achieved fluency. She now makes an effort to speak her mother's language whenever she can.
✷ HELMEPPO MORGAN and Elissa's relationship has always been... rocky, to say the least. Helmeppo wasn't kind to her, and always saw her as a competitor for their father's love. He hated the way their father would always have high expectations for her, and would go out of his way to push himself a lot harder than Elissa did, only for her to succeed in the end. They are a tragedy of siblings torn apart by one-sided envy. Elissa still cares a lot for Helmeppo, and one of her biggest regrets was leaving him with their father, but she knew that he wouldn't have wanted to leave whether he loved her or not. She left him a note and their mother's wedding ring that was given to her after they laid her to rest sometime after the funeral. She figured that as long as she knew her mother's language, he could keep her ring.
✷ EVANGELINA MORGAN is Elissa's heart and soul, and what she believes is her reason for existing. Angie was the only outlet she had for truly being herself. She would style Evan's hair every day and always make time for their lessons in Greek and basic combat. Angie is the only one who knows Elissa's whereabouts and the fact that she isn't truly dead, and she sends letters to her in secret.
✷ CELINE SHANKS has Elissa's heart. Honestly, in her defense, it's hard for her not to. Even though she can see striking similarities between Celine and her father just from their looks and personality alone, Elissa admires her for her attitude because she has the type of confidence that she would've killed to display at her age.
BACKSTORY.
Born to a bitter father and a kind mother, Elissa had her life paved out for her from the very beginning: succeed, conquer, carry on the Morgan legacy as the rightful heir. From the moment she came into the world, the Axe-Hand marine knew the potential his eldest carried. It was Elissa's birth right to be great, and he couldn't settle for anything less than a strong son who would bring forth an end to the reign that pirates bared on the all blue. And so, at the early age of ten, Elissa started her marine training earlier than most people. She worked with dangerous armory, hazardous situations, and was front and center in complete chaos all in the name of learning. She knew that the lifestyle was never for her, and living her father's legacy would be a complete and utter hell for her, but she knew better than to go against his wishes. He was a scary man with a cold heart, a heart as unforgiving as one could be. The execution of Gol D. Roger was a day that would live in infamy. Elissa, though very young at the time, remembered the day so vividly. The speech that was delivered, the chaos that ensued as people rummaged through the streets in search of the nearest ship that could be used to start their journey to find the one piece. Brave souls that would give their life and freedom for adventure, and that's the day she realized that there was much more to life than expectations. adventure was the way to go. Helmeppo came into the equation much later, and then came her heart: Evangelina. Evangelina, was born on the rainiest day of the year, and with birth came death, as her mother fell terribly ill the weeks that followed. Eventually, she succumbed to her sickness and passed on. Evangelina being born was both a blessing and a curse, as Elissa finally had someone to care for rather than someone to compete with, as Helmeppo started to view her as a competitor rather than a sibling when he became old enough to comprehend their father's favoritism. He envied her bond (no matter how dysfunctional it was) with their father, he hated how highly he would talk about her, he hated almost everything about her. The same person who taught him his first word was now his biggest enemy. The tipping point wasn't her father, nor was it her brother. On a mission across the South Blue, Elissa and a few other captains and cadets walked straight into a massacre committed by arsonists in the area. She was once again surrounded by violence, but this time, she wasn't learning from it; she was experiencing it head-on. That was the day she nearly died, but took refuge under broken pieces of ship. When the chaos finally ceased, she saw the destruction that ensued: her teammates dead, their blood spilling into the salty sea, their faces pale. It was a sight that made her blood run cold. Instead of signaling for help, she deserted. she hopped on a raft that took her somewhere she would have no knowledge of until she eventually wound up on a busy island with bustling streets. Disheveled and shaken up, Elissa took a small rest against the wall of a small pub, sinking down to her knees from exhaustion. A man who appeared to be in his fifties noticed her, and brought her inside to get her some new clothes and allow her to clean herself up, she learned that his name was Marvin and he was the owner of The Silver Swan, a hot-spot for wealthy merchants and party-goers who thrive on good times. He offered elissa a job as a floor mopper, and she took it immediately. It was until Marvin caught her singing to herself one night while cleaning that he decided to promote her to a performer. Once she made a name for herself, she decided to fully embrace the person she was always meant to be. She eventually changed her name: first and last. She chose the name Elissavet because it was the name of a beautiful lady who showed up to the pub when she first started working there. Elissa was so drawn by her style and grace that she just had to name herself after her. Zarallis was her mother's maiden name.

WHO FELL FIRST.
Shanks. Elissa had him whipped the first time he saw her perform. The way she dragged her hands across his shoulders while she sauntered through the bar and sang like an angel made him think that she was something out of his dreams. Elissa ended up falling much harder though.
HEADCANONS.
✷ Elissa met Shanks when he came into The Silver Swan with his crew. That night was set to be one of the busiest nights  the pub had in a very long time, so it was bound to be full of opportunities.
✷ The cute first meeting was immediately cut short when the pub was ambushed by marines searching for Axe-Hand's missing son, and Elissa and the other patrons ducked under some tables in an attempt to hide.
✷ A huge fight broke out, and before Shanks could leave, Elissa grabbed onto his pants leg and begged for him to take her with him— only because she wanted an easy way out.
✷ When she found out that he was the Red-Haired Shanks... she freaked out. Told him to stay far away from her, even threatened him with a dagger and accused him of being a cannibal and a murderer. He got a good laugh out of that because she was obviously conditioned to think that way and still hadn't grown out of those beliefs.
