Danny was pulled into the floo dimension at once. She absolutely hated the feeling it gave her.
But a few seconds later she was finally at platform 9 3/4 with Mary apparating in front of her.
"Wasn't that fun love?" Mary had a huge grin on her face.
"Oh pleasant," Danny grimaced with her uneasy stomach.
The platform was bustling with people but it took mere seconds for Danny to find a smiling and tired Remus.
"Moony!" Danny hugged Remus and laughed a bit, the feeling in her stomach going away instantly.
"Hello, my flower. Morning Mary," Remus said.
"Baked you muffins Rem," Mary handed him the carefully wrapped muffins.
"Wonderful. Thank you. Did you get Danny's th-" Remus began.
"Already done. She just has her bag with her robes, wand, a book and snacks," Mary replied already knowing what he was going to ask.
"You're the best, my dear," Remus thanked her.
Anyone looking at the three of them would obviously assume they were a family. Danny had tanned skin like Mary and if you looked from a distance, you would think that Remus and Danny had the same eyes. But Danny's eyes and tan skin were James and she couldn't even pass as Mary's daughter even if she tried with her bright auburn hair.
"Come on love, we've got to go to school, yeah?" Remus smiled down at Danny. "We'll write Mary. See you at Christmas."
Danny hugged Mary one more time. "Promise me you'll send some Carrot Stew for Moony on his birthday?"
"March tenth, always do," Mary kissed her forehead. "Now, go on. I can't wait to read all about your new Hogwarts adventures."
Mary waved as Danny went to find Remus, who was a few steps ahead and opening an empty compartment door.
"You excited, my flower?" Remus asked, yawning a bit. He took a seat and Danny followed, sitting next to him. He unwrapped the muffin and bit into it a bit ravenously.
"I'm excited for the feast. Aunt Mary says it's the best food you'll ever eat."
Danny grinned.
"Well she's not lying about that. James and I, well we used to have these crazy eating competitions. I'd always win though. Mary said it'd always make her nauseous watching us eat chicken faster than the speed of light," Remus said in between chewing.
"Let me guess. My dad always blamed it on your furry little problem, right?" Danny asked.
"Word for word, he said. 'Oh Remus, you can't blame me. The only one who could beat you was a cow since they have four stomachs. Lily told me that.' He went on a rant once for thirty minutes after dinner about how I should enter muggle eating competitions so we could win muggle money and live without all of our problems. I'd always told him it wasn't about the money at all but rather the freedom and he'd argue everything. He argued so much that we could have had a Hogwarts debate team."
Danny only smiled at Remus' remarks. She could only have imagined how amazing it would have been to meet her parents.
Remus yawned and Danny yawned soon after. The train had just started to move out of the station. Parents and relatives were waving goodbye to their children and young ones. Danny only huddled closer to Remus while both of them nodded off.
