Andy plugged an earbud so far into her ear, she was sure it went down into her ear canal. Satisfied that it was stable, she began to blast her favorite: Metallica.

"Hey, Andy, wait up!" Andy didn't hear the familiar voice behind her. "ANDY!"

"Oh, hey Kaz. Wassup?"

"God, you're so fucking deaf." Andy pointed to her earbud. "Oh. Understandable."

"Soooooooo...?"

"So... what?"

"Got any tea?"

"Um... no. I wish though."

"Damn." Andy shifted her books so she could swing open the cafeteria door. Kaz ducked in behind her. "I was hoping for some juicy shit."

"Wait, what?"

"What do you mean, 'what'?"

"I don't think we're talking about the same kind of tea." Kaz and Andy burst out laughing.

"Probably not," Andy chuckled. She ran a hand through her hair, scanning the lunchroom. "Dammit Simone, where are you?"

"Hey, I'll catch you later, hoe."

"Later loser." Kaz went off to another table while Andy dumped her things next to Simone Hale. Simone grinned up at her from the book she was reading.

"Girl, why do you always read? There's so much more interesting shit you could be doing, like, oh I don't know, socializing." Simone stuck out her tongue and turned back to her phone. "I'm getting my food now, otherwise I'll be bitchy for the rest of the day. Well, scratch that, I'm gonna be bitchy anyway."

She heard Simone laughing quietly at her as she walked away, shoving her way into the crowded serving area. She wrinkled her nose and grabbed a pre-wrapped cheeseburger, a bag of kettle chips, and a vitamin water. As always, the line was a mile long, and it took a total of 11 minutes for her to get out of the serving area, leaving her less than 20 to eat.

Andy sat her ass down heavily next to Simone and a few other fake-ass people that she didn't like but didn't tell to fuck off. They chatted shallowly about random-ass shit until the phone of every kid in the lunchroom went off. Andy frowned and glanced at her screen. What she saw made her gasp and pale.
