She snuck into the room that her younger sister was sleeping in, hearing complete pandemonium all around her due to the attack they were both under. Screams echoed all throughout the building, glass was being shattered into nothingness, and supplies and carts were being thrown either across or down hallways. Thundering footsteps came from all directions as everyone tried their best to evacuate the building as fast as they possibly could. The hospital was filled with utter panic and chaos.

That didn't seem to faze the young adult woman, however.

There was something else on her mind that motivated her to come into her sister's room after everything that had happened to her.

The altercation she had with the monster that was coming after her had resulted in a slash on her right shoulder but, other than that, she was unscathed despite being sweaty and her blonde hair being tangled and messy. But her heart was filled to the brim with fear after she realized that this thing would probably come after her only sibling... after everything she and him had been through.

That was right. She knew who it really was that was determined to kill her and her sister... the man that had always wanted to create the next step in human evolution, as he had once said.

She crept over to the bed in the middle of the room, where machines were beeping frantically and almost alarmingly fast for her own liking. A deafening explosion of sound came from the floor below here and she knew that thing... that lizard-like creature was making its way closer to this very room. And, even though he didn't know they were in there, he would probably see them the moment he walked in if she wasn't fast enough.

That was why she had to be quick... quick and silent.

She carefully unclipped the oximeter from the little girl's left index finger and let it dangle from the edge of the bed and she heard a continuous beep that would happen if someone died. But her little sister wasn't dead and she wasn't going to die. Not now. She then removed the oxygen mask from her face, relieved that she was still asleep and not aware of why she was about to take her out of the hospital.

The woman, whose name was Christina, gently lifted her sister (Sidney) out of the bed and walked over to the door leading out into the hallway. The screams and running footsteps had ceased and all that was emanating from outside were excruciatingly loud alarms that would activate when an evacuation of the hospital was taking place. She held her baby sister close to her, happy she was still alive after all the poor girl had gone through in the past several hours. At this point, Sidney was all that Christina had left during this very moment, so she was desperate to keep her alive and near her at all times.

"I got you, honey, I got you," she whispered soothingly, her voice trembling from worry.

She carried her sister to the end of the hallway as she walked at a brisk pace, constantly glancing behind herself to make sure nothing came out from the door at the end of the area.

"I'm getting you out of here, Sid," she mumbled as she shook from head to toe.

A sudden thud of an echo reached Christina's ears and she slowly turned her head back to where she had been walking. A silhouette of a creature stood at the door leading to the stairway she was heading to looked into her eyes and she slowly began to back away in fear, clutching her little sister closer to her chest.

Wrong way, she thought to herself and she was tempted to laugh.

She didn't.

"Oh, shit," she said simply, her legs close to buckling out of the paralyzing horror that rooted her to the ground.

But, once she got her mind back together and realized that she only had one option, she chose to do that very option.

Christina Connors chose to run for her life while carrying Sidney. She sprinted in the opposite direction... far away from her own father....

A/N: so, an exciting prologue to start us off! if you want a hint, this prologue will come back at the end of part one! so prepare yourself for how intense it will get!
