— It can be utterly ridiculous how much things can change in the blink of an eye. Both outwardly and inwardly. Sometimes, it happens like every event is occurring in slow motion, but it can also happen so quickly that you haven't even had time to process your life story. It happens to the best of people and the worst of them and it has been the entire timeline of Amanda Orth's life.

One second, she was a normal girl living in Woodsboro, California with a loving family and, the next, she was a sudden survivor of a murder spree that had taken the lives of her brother and three of her closest friends. Then, one day, she was just trying her best to recover from the traumatic experience, then she had survived yet another series of killings, her boyfriend had been taken away from her, and she was left pregnant with his child.

Amanda still managed to stay in college for the next two and a half years following Randy's murder, all while raising a daughter that she didn't give up and having to toss around a job at the same time. The girl's name was Melody Meeks-Orth, quite the unique name for a child but it had sounded perfect to the older woman the moment that she had given birth to her. Her best friend, Sidney Prescott, had been at the hospital to help her while she was in labor, as was Dewey Riley and Gale Weathers. She had made Dewey the godfather, and the survivor group had become a small family.

But, when Sidney went into hiding not long after, that changed, much to Amanda's dismay.

Yet another killing spree had occurred, this time, in Hollywood, and the blonde mother had stayed as far away from there as possible. She had, instead, moved back to Woodsboro to keep in contact with her parents and to raise her daughter in a peaceful, albeit haunted town. She enrolled her into elementary school in 2004 and Melody was quite the intelligent girl for her age, receiving good grades in every class she was in since day one. Everything was going great for both of them.

Prior to that, however, Amanda decided that she wanted another child, but she didn't want to get pregnant again. So, she decided to adopt a baby that the parents wished not to raise; however, it had taken months upon months to raise the money and to find the perfect child she wanted to take care of.

In 2003, Amanda found the perfect infant boy to raise; his parents were not ready to have a child and the biological mother's pregnancy was unplanned, so they had put him up for adoption under one condition: that the parent or parents that take him in shower him with unconditional love and support.

So, after two to three months of signing papers and going to court to finalize the process, Amanda finally adopted the baby boy at four months old... and named him Steven Orth II after her brother. This may not have been the best idea; at least, to her. It didn't help that the poor kid was born on the seventh anniversary of the original Woodsboro murders.

It is now 2011, fifteen years after the original murders have taken place. Amanda is a mostly healed woman in her early thirties and is raising two wonderful kids. The once trauma-stricken high school student is now a successful fashion designer living a picturesque life in Woodsboro.

But that comes crashing down in the span of one night when Ghostface-like murders begin anew... and right on her son's eighth birthday, no less.
