— Her pure heart was filled with frustration, hesitance, and immense longing for a certain someone. She honestly didn't know how to come to terms with her feelings that she had for him for as long as she could remember; it was as infuriating as writing a fifteen-page essay or staying underwater for more than ten seconds. Hell, she felt as though she were stuck in the depths of the ocean with how deep she was stuck in this situation.

— She knew that he didn't like her back, he couldn't! Why would he ever love someone as sappy and lovesick like her?! It just didn't make any fucking sense!

— Penelope Uris, "Poppy" for short, was so frustrated with herself because she never had the courage to tell Bill Denbrough how she truly felt about him, but she was always scared to tell him; she knew that he would reject her. Her yearning heart would shatter in billions of tiny, sharp fragments if she discovered that he didn't like her back... in fact, that he never cared for her in the first place. So she chose to keep a tiny distance from Bill, trying not to get too close to him, although she still looked out for him no matter what.

— Unbeknownst to Poppy, her twin brother, Stanley Uris, has always known that she was in love with his best friend. He could see the way that she looked at him every day whenever they hung out together: an expression of pure care and adoration for the angelic boy that stuttered.
