screwin' around. ╱ season one, episode one.

EDEN NEVER had the need for attention on her, she never thought she was anything out of the ordinary, but other people seemed to think so. The blonde hated the eyes on her, but she couldn't do a thing about it. Being new to Beacon Hills gave the student body a reason to watch her every move. She envied Allison's obliviousness to it all, the brunette waltzed around with no idea that people were looking at her. Eden felt every pair of eyes on her, the looming gazes made her queasy. She wanted all of it to go away, but it seemed everywhere she turned, a pair of eyes locked themselves onto her.

She was the topic of every conversation, she was a mystery to the student body, and all are confused about how Eden could be related to someone like Allison. While she knew they were different she didn't need to overhear people talking about her in a negative light. Outside Eden seemed like a bitch but it was only a mask. She hid her true emotions behind a brash personality because it was the only thing that made her feel safe.

Eden viewed her emotions as her secrets and she only felt safe when they were only known to her. She tried to push the negative emotions down, but it could only work so often. All of the chatter about her was making it difficult to shove the dark emotions down. They loomed over her like a bleak shadow, that grew with each conversation about her. She prayed that the commotion of her arrival would die down because it wouldn't be long before the dark shadow will turn into a black abyss that will envelop Eden completely.

School dragged on for Eden as she sat quietly at her desk listening to her math teacher drowned on about the quiz that was happening at the end of the week. She ached for the day to be over, knowing that it would be a time when she could disappear to a place that gave her peace and solace.

Eden wasn't really tuning into the words her teacher was spewing, as she already knew most of the stuff he was going over right now. Eden was focused on the problems on her page, each one getting solved with no effort. She could hear a few kids quietly whispering behind her, she paid them no attention until her name was softly brought up. Her muscles tensed, each word they were speaking made anger bubble in her veins. This is exactly what she didn't need right now.

"Her accent is so fake, she literally moved here from San Francisco and her cousin literally doesn't have an accent," Eden clutched the pencil tightly in her grip, each second her grip getting tighter.

Eden felt herself bubbling over, she never dealt with rude comments well. She preferred when she was under people's radar, she hated the spotlight, it was a time when it gave people the chance to criticize her. Frustration filled Eden as listened to their conversation, the assumptions that were given made her blood boil. The harsh grip she had on her desk was getting tighter and tighter, her black painted nails dug into the marble tops, pain throbbed through her fingertips, but she ignored it, only focussing on the words getting spread about her. She felt something thrum through her body, she was conscious of the feeling but she was more focused on the shit-talking behind her.

"I can't believe that she's been here three days and she's already in Lydia's clique,"

"It's because of her cousin, she's not even that pretty,"

"She's trying too much, like no one thinks you're cool, calm down,"

Eden had finally boiled over, her resolve had completely dissolved. Her chestnut eyes twisted into daggers as she snapped around to the two girls sitting behind her. The two paused in surprise, jumping at the swift movements of the girl they were talking about. "Can you fucking keep your mouths shut, your jealousy is annoying to hear,"

"Ms. Argent," The teacher boomed from the front, all eyes wavered over to her and her impending blow-up. "We don't use that type of language in my classroom,"

Eden opened her mouth to reply but one of the girls responded before she could, "Mr. Peterson, we weren't doing anything she literally yelled at us for no reason,"

Eden scoffed loudly, a look of surprise falling across her face, understanding what kind of girls they were, "Bull fucking shit,"

"Ms. Argent please go to the office, I will not tolerate that type of language,"

"Gladly," Eden didn't fight, knowing that the odds weren't in her favor if she kept fighting. She jolted up from her seat with a snort, soon piling all her items into her bag, but before she headed out she turned to the two girls who stared at her with cocky looks in their eyes, "Oh and by the way, if you're gonna pathetically talk shit about me because you have no life, you might wanna do it where I can't hear,"

"Ms. Argent out," Mr. Peterson demanded, his eyes showing nothing but annoyance.

"Aye aye captain," Eden saluted mockingly before she trudged out of class, the action caused a few huffed laughs to spread across the classroom and Eden smirked at the sound.

"I hope next class you'll be more briefed on my classroom expectations and will have an easier time abiding by them,"

Eden paused to turn to Mr. Peterson with a sweet smile spreading across her lips, and the man gave her a questioning look, "Probably not,"

The man's face blanched at her words, Eden paid him no mind as she sauntered out of the classroom. Relief flooded throughout her veins hearing the swift shut of the classroom door, knowing that she didn't have to deal with the prying eyes of her classmates. She'd much rather hang out in the quiet and solace office and draw, it's a much better place than her life-draining math class.

EXHAUSTION WAFTED off of the blonde as she trudged through the halls, swiftly dodging many groups of teenagers that resided in the halls. Eden felt slight excitement travel through her knowing that her day was almost over and her next stop was her bedroom. She was quiet most of the day, she avoided her cousin and new friends like the plague. Eden hid in the depths of the library with her sketch pad and iPod, ignoring the world around her for a few fleeting moments. She knew everyone was going to flock to her instantly if they locked their eyes on her, so she was swiftly maneuvering to get to her last class unseen. But she should've known Piper would find her in any instance.

"Heard that you cussed out Clarissa and Megan today,"

Eden jumped at the familiar girl's voice but shrugged nonetheless, "They deserved it, they shouldn't be shit-talking someone they don't even know,"

Piper snorted, "Don't take it to heart, shit-talking is the only thing they have going for them,"

"I just wish people will mind their own goddamn business," Eden grumbled quietly, her voice getting annoyed with each passing second.

"Girl, nothing interesting happens here, a pretty girl with an accent will make people talk,"

Eden rolled her eyes, giving the redhead a teasing glance, "Well according to Clarissa and Megan my accent is fake and I'm not even that pretty,"

"They're just mad that you've got the whole the lacrosse team drooling over you,"

Eden's face fell into disbelief, "I— what?"

Piper laughed lightly, "For someone so observant, I'm shocked you don't notice the hormonal stares from the team,"

"Why the hell would they want me anyway?" Eden scoffed, finding amusement in Piper's words.

"Okay Ms. Oblivious, you're the bad girl that everyone wants, you smoke, talk back to teachers, you're something that any jock in a rom-com would want,"

Eden sent her an annoyed glance, "Literally shut up before I hit you,"

"See, you're the whole edgy girl package," Piper concluded, her features filling with amusement watching Eden become more and more annoyed.

"I'm literally leaving," Eden remarked, pausing so she could turn in the opposite direction of Piper.

"Eden," Piper laughed at her antics, but stopped her in her tracks, "We literally have the next class together,"

"Yeah well, I'm not sitting next to you," Eden clipped with a smile, her tone showing no sign of being threatening.

Piper gasped dramatically, her grip tightening on Eden's arm, "You wouldn't dare,"

The blonde snorted, her eyes filling with amusement, "Of course I would, and you'll have to suffer through the period sitting next to shit-talking Megan,"

Piper deflated, face filling with defeat, "I hate you so much,"

"You don't, but I'll play along,"

Piper glared instantaneously at her, a slightly competitive tone filling her voice, as she wanted to win this faux argument, "I do-"

An unfamiliar voice calling Eden's name interrupted the play fighting between the two girls, they both paused and turned to see a chaotic Stiles running up to them. Eden felt a slight frustration flooding her seeing the boy she didn't want to deal with right now. But she was now stuck, seeing how Piper had a bright smile washing over her face as she dragged Eden along with her as she made her way to Stiles.

"Stiles, hi!"

The boy smiled at the vibrant girl next to Eden, "Hey Piper,"

Eden could tell the girl next to her was about to engage in a never-ending conversation with the boy, so she interrupted before anything could get started, "Stiles, what do you want?"

The boy instantly turned his attention to the blonde and he coughed nervously, "I was wondering if you wanted to come over tonight and get the project started,"

Piper smiled deviously, as she turned to Eden, "What project?"

"Just an art project for our class," Eden clipped to the girl, then turned back to the boy who was awaiting an answer, "I'll just have to text my mum and tell her I won't be home until later,"

"Perfect, I do have lacrosse until 5:30, so we'll meet at my house at six?"

Eden was about to answer but Piper slapped a hand over her mouth, "Actually, we're going to the elimination today, so after you can just go together,"

The blonde sent the girl a harsh glare, unaware of that plan. The Stilinski boy noticed and sent the blonde a hopeful gaze, "You are?"

Eden snapped her head towards the boy, she was going to decline but the look in his eyes made her pause and give him a tight lip smile, "Yeah, hopefully, you'll get a spot on the frontline,"

Stiles snorted in amusement, "Sadly, I can only see the bench in my near future,"

"I'm sure you're not that bad," Eden remarked, giving the boy the benefit of the doubt. But the look on his face made her second guess her words.

"Trust me, I'm surprised I even made the team,"

Piper snorted, "Stiles is just being dramatic, he's not that horrible,"

The boy laughed, a smile bright on his face, "Thanks Piper,"

"No problem Stilinski,"

"Hey I gotta go," Stiles broke the friendly back and forth, the two girls nodded in response feeling as if he had more to say, "I'll see you guys at the elimination, and I'll meet Eden outside of the boys' locker room after everything alright?"

Piper smiled, hooking an arm around Eden's shoulders, "Of course, I'll make sure she gets there, she's still pretty oblivious about where things are still,"

Eden sent Stiles a tight-lipped smile and elbowed Piper roughly in the side, she ignored the slight whine that came from Piper and directed her next words at Stiles, "I'll see you then,"

The boy nodded and he was off bounding down the hall to his next class. The two girls stood there watching him leave, but Eden's mind was focused on how she had to go to Stiles's house and not to her humble abode. Piper's energy was a lot for Eden to deal with right now, the girl was scheming and she didn't like it.

"So you're project partners, eh?"

"Literally shut your mouth,"

PIPER'S MOUTH refused to shut as she went on and on about something Eden particularly didn't care about. With a cigarette attached to her lips, Eden leaned calmly on the brick wall of the school behind her. Tranquil energy flowed throughout the air, and the muscles in her body relaxed as she melted into the hard brick behind her. Watching the elimination wasn't the highlight of her week, but it being a Friday made it slightly better.

She wasn't exactly looking forward to going to Stiles' house for the few hours, a sight wave of anxiousness flooded her stomach since the boy was a practical stranger to her. But there was something about him that made her not worry about him, while she didn't know him, he was someone safe.

The rambunctious Stilinski boy made her art class interesting in a sense, while she hoped it could be an escape from her normal classes, Stiles makes it almost impossible. The boy is constantly talking, and while most of the time Eden amusingly listens, there are some points where the girl just wants him to shut up. His rambling slices through her much-needed silence. Usually, with someone that won't shut up, Eden snaps at them but with Stiles, she stops herself. There's something about Stiles's tone that makes her pause. He seems so lost in the moment and she doesn't dare interrupt him.

The elimination ended sooner than the two girls expected, it was pretty much boring except when Scott Mccall literally jumped over three players. Eden had seen nothing like it, the crowd exploded when he scored and the whole thing seemed inhuman to her. She had never seen someone do something like that before. Eden just kept her thoughts to herself it was better that way, cause the way she was thinking would make anyone think she was insane.

"Eden, are you going to the party at Lyd's tonight?"

The girl paused her thoughts to look over at the redhead, her face filled with confusion, "There's a party tonight?"

Piper nodded, "Yeah, I'm surprised no one told you about it, I heard that Allison is going with Scott,"

Eden's face twisted in further confusion, all this information is new to her, "Really? I had no idea,"

"So are you gonna go?"

Eden sighed, an internal battle flooding her mind, she flicked her cigarette to the ground, crushing it with her boot-cladded foot. "I'm working on that art project with Stiles at his house,"

Piper rolled her eyes at Eden's failed excuse to not go, "Just make Stiles bring you at nine,"

"I'm not wearing this to the party," Eden clipped, gesturing to the large red flannel covering her frame.

"I have an idea," Piper perked up, slapping Eden harshly on the shoulder, "I'll drive you to your house to get clothes-"

"But what about Stil-"

"Let me finish,"

Eden rolled her eyes at Piper's demanding tone but gave her an amused smile nonetheless, "You're right, sorry,"

"Anyway," Piper remarked dramatically, "I'll drive you to your house to get clothes, and then I'll drop you off at Stiles and you guys can go to the party...together,"

Eden paused, and instantly sent Piper a glare at the tone she ended with, "I don't like how you said that last part,"

Piper smiled deviously, but shrugged innocently, "I don't know what you're talking about,"

"I don't trust-"

"Hey guys," The voice of Stiles Stilinski interrupted Eden. The two girls snapped their heads to a sweaty Stiles, who had a small smile twitching at his lips.

"Hey," Eden greeted the boy, moving away from Piper as she spoke and making her way towards the boy, "We may have changed up the plans a bit,"

The boy tilted his head slightly in confusion, "What's up?"

"Well Piper," Eden began, gesturing towards the girl who gave him a bright smile, "She told me that Lydia's having a party tonight, and I wanna go,"

Stiles nodded lightly, slightly understanding what she was saying, "So you wanna go and reschedule with me?"

"Not exactly," Eden replied in a hopeful tone, noticing the small frown tugging on his lips, "I was gonna go home and get some clothes for tonight and then Piper's gonna drop me off at yours, and we can work until like 8:00 and then go to the party at 9:00,"

The boy coughed nervously at her words, shocked that she would even want to go anywhere with him, "Go to the party, like together?"

An amused smile twisted onto Eden's lips at his stuttery nature, enjoying making the boy squirm, "Yeah I'm assuming your going because Scott's going, so it'll be easiest if we carpool,"

The boy nodded wordlessly, like he was having a hard time understanding why she would want to show up to a party with him, "Sounds good to me,"

Piper clapped her hand in delight, walking up to Eden and wrapping an arm around her, "Alright, I'll drop this lively one off at your house in like 30 minutes,"

Stiles smiled in amusement at Eden's annoyed features, "Yeah okay, I'll see you soon, I have to meet up with Scott anyway,"

Eden nodded, a kind smile stretching across her lips, "Alright, see you then,"

As the boy walked away from the girls, Eden felt an unfamiliar feeling wash over her. Normally, the girl would be excited that she was gonna party the night away, but there was something that wafted in the air that made her think something else was gonna happen. Trepidation filled her bones, something told her that tonight was going to change everything, and she had no idea if it was something she was prepared for. But she was gonna get through it nonetheless.

𝗔𝗨𝗧𝗛𝗢𝗥𝗦 𝗡𝗢𝗧𝗘:

Really missed Eden a ton and
decided to update because I
love her too much! Got more
stiles and Eden interactions
along with Piper's third-wheeling
hard core and not to mention
her concocting plans. The girl
is a steden shipper from the start!

I don't really like this chapter
it's kinda a filler for the next
chapter, but it gives a bit of
foreshadowing to Eden finding
out about Scott n such!

Hope you enjoyed it!
