3rd Person POV
Mikaelson Mansion, Mystic Falls
The group had arrived and were scattered across the mansion, seeing to their many duties. Kol had taken Davina to lie down for a bit, as she had been badly hit by the spell. Caroline and Stefan had offered to sit with Lizzie while Kaitlyn's wounds were being tended to. Alaric was sat on a living room couch, hand-in-hand with a nervous Josette- nervous about resurrecting Kai, about meeting her daughters, about going back. Bonnie was on the couch opposite theirs, head placed on Enzo's lap as everyone was trying to recharge before the final battle- facing Kai Parker for the hundredth time now.
Damon walks into the kitchen and hands Kaitlyn another bloodbag but she pushes it away, causing him to frown.
"You need the energy," he points out.
"I have enough energy, I don't need a fourth bag," Kaitlyn retorts as he rolls his eyes at her.
"You did brilliant out there," they hear Freya speak as she walks into the kitchen and settles down on the opposite side of the kitchen counter.
"Gotta do whatever you can when it comes to your kids," Kaitlyn shrugs and Freya nods.
"That's what I've been seeing all these years now. And honestly, it's amazing to watch the lengths one can go for their family. This is all I've ever wanted- a family. A family to be happy with, to fight for, fight beside, even die for; if it ever comes to that," Freya confesses and both and Damon notice Kaitlyn tense up at the mention of death.
"Let's hope it doesn't come to that," Kaitlyn mumbles.
"Hey, the only one who's dying tonight is Kai Parker. And we're putting him down properly this time," Damon states and Kaitlyn nods half-heartedly before stumbling up from her seat.
"Where are you going?" Freya asks as she too gets up and helps Kaitlyn stay on her feet, "you need more blood. You're still weak."
"I told you," Damon scoffs.
"No, I'm fine. The spell was just too powerful so I'm a little drained. It's not the injuries so the blood won't help this," Kaitlyn answers and Freya nods in understanding.
"Okay then let's help you up to your room so you can rest up a little," Damon offers but Kaitlyn shakes her head 'no'.
"I have a lot to do and we don't have much time," she protests, "Damon, can you get Ric, Enzo and Kol to go to school and get the werewolf-training basement prepared? Only Ric knows what he did to Kai's body, anyway. Meanwhile, I need to go check on my daughters, call the other two kids and Elijah."
"Caroline and Stefan are with the girls and they're both napping. I checked before I came here," Freya informs, "as for calling Elijah, I'm sure he'd have called you himself, if he had any news to share."
"Okay then, we can discuss the plan with Jo and Bonnie while Vina rests," Kaitlyn grumbles as her feet start to ache more, "oh, did you rest?" she then questions Freya.
"I don't need to, I'm fine. I made myself some tea," Freya reassures as they walk into the living room and Damon walks upstairs to call Kol.
"Hey Bee, how you holding up?" Alaric questions her as they settle down on the couch beside him.
"I'm still a little weak but better now."
"The spell drained you," Jo points out and Kaitlyn nods in agreement.
"Is your head better?" Kaitlyn then asks Jo and she nods in answer.
"You guys ready to talk about the plan?" Bonnie asks as she sits up from beside Enzo. Just then, Kol and Davina walk downstairs. As Davina walks towards the girls, Kol motions for Enzo and Alaric to join him.
"We'll meet you guys there," Kol tells them as the three leave the mansion and head to the Boarding House.
"Not all of us need to be there, you know," Bonnie states to the girls and they nod.
"Damon, Care, Stef and the girls are staying here," Kaitlyn informs and Bonnie raises her brow at the statement.
"Damon's gonna let us go alone?" she quizzes in a sceptic tone.
"I'm not giving him a choice. He's got a kid, it's too risky for him to be there. And Stef just got back," Kaitlyn trails off, "I already feel guilty and scared enough for dragging all of you into this mess."
"Hey, you didn't drag us here. We're family, it's what we do," Davina reassures with one of her charming smiles.
"So you have the resurrection spell memorized?" Freya then turns to Jo with her question.
"Yes, Lady Catherine and Miss Sheila taught me one," she answers as both Bonnie and Lyn divert their eyes at the mention of their Grams and mother, respectively.
"Wait, so it's true? You're royal blood?" Davina asks in a surprised tone.
"I think so?" Kaitlyn shrugs, " I honestly don't know what any of this mans. Whatever I know about magic, I know from Bonnie and Kol."
"I've read about Pureblood witches, they have undisguised magic, you know, like yours. And isn't that what the darkness was saying too?" Bonnie quizzes.
Freya nods, "I've learned about it from Dahlia too. But there hasn't been sighting of such magic in centuries," she states.
"Makes sense. The family grimoire I found there had our entire family tree on it. One generation, around the 1600s, there were four siblings- two pairs of twins. One of the twins from one pair died off sickness, another from the other pair was mysteriously killed. There were just one of each pair left and they went separate ways, apparently one tried dark magic to bring their twin back so their magic was abolished, along with the bloodline that followed them, as in their kids. The other...apparently never had kids or practiced magic ever again, so after that the showcasing of our ancestral magic slowed down."
"Then how did your grandmother or mother receive your family magic if it stopped with those twins?" Jo asks curiously.
"They chose to start a new bloodline. We're not direct descendants but from relative lines of the Hoffman Bloodline," Kaitlyn answers and Freya gasps at the name.
"They're...they're one of the three prominent witch bloodlines. Esther's line is one; and the Bennett's, even Claire's come from one of those three lines," she states.
"Yeah and the Hart's were relatives of some kind to the Hoffman's. So when their own bloodline died down, the cousin-lines merged. Kinda gross but that's how our line got trusted with the pureblood magic afterwards. My mother also said that my middle name comes from the first Pureblood Hoffman-Hart, a few great-great-great grandmothers ago, I think. Rosalia Hart," Kaitlyn smiles at the thought.
"It's a fascinating life story. You can save it for your grandchildren someday," Davina nudges with a smile as the others chuckle.
"Let's save the kids first. I think there's enough bedtime story to go around for a lifetime, anyways. After all the Hellfire stuff, when the girls would get too cranky, instead of reading to them, I'd give them dreams of my memories. Good ones, obviously. Like my first prom, decade dance, first party with this gang, first day of college, the roadtrips I took- with Damon, Elena, Alaric, Stef...Nik," Kaitlyn trails off as her thoughts land on Klaus again.
Bonnie then clears her throat, snapping everyone's attention towards her, as Davina and Freya share a guilty look, being Mikalesons and all. Everyone knew how unpredictable and paranoid Klaus is, even after a thousand years. But no one thought he'd be gone at a time like this, not after everything he'd gone through to get her, definitely not only to let her slip away like this, at such a crucial time.
"Right, so with Jo's spell, we resurrect Kai. Then what?" Bonnie asks, getting to the final plan.
"Then I merge with him, like I should've all those years ago. That part is simple and should work in our favor, as long as this extra magic backs mine up," Jo answers while pointing at her necklace.
"But you know how after the merge, Kai had overtaken some of Luke's qualities? What if something like that happens with you?" Kaitlyn points out and Jo's face falls at the mention of Luke.
"That's exactly why we can't take too much time with it. As soon as the merge is done, we need to bury Kai and start the spell to abolish this stupid merge system," Jo grunts in frustration, "it has leeched over families for years. No more of this."
"Is burying him the right thing to do, though? I mean, don't get me wrong but burying villains always backfires," Davina speaks as she turns to Freya, "you know, Celeste, Esther so many times, Papa Tunde and whatnot. Need I go on?"
"I don't know any of them except Esther but yes, we don't have any other ideas here," Kaitlyn confesses.
"We could freeze his body and put it in a morgue?" Bonnie suggests.
"So someone can steal his body? No thanks. Look, we'll bury him in the woods, somewhere no one will even notice that the land was dug up," Kaitlyn concludes and the others nod. They then bring out all their grimoires and full-proof the plan one last time before leaving a note for Caroline, Damon, Stefan and the girls; and leaving for the Boarding House too.
"Leaving with a note is better than sitting an arguing with them now, trust me," Kaitlyn had reassured them.

Salvatore School For The Young And Gifted, Mystic Falls
"So we're all set?" Alaric asks the other guys as they finish clearing out all the restoration staff and other debris. Kol and Enzo nod in response. The air surrounding them was anxious, considering what was coming next.
"What did you do with the guy's body?" Enzo quizzes then.
"I...kinda just left him in the basement? It's chilly there," Alaric mumbles as Kol practically facepalms himself.
"And you didn't think that his body would rot?"
"Hey, I was too busy worrying about my kids plus the countless ones at school, to be worried about his body," Alaric sasses.
"Ugh fine, let's just get things set up before the girls get here," Kol states with an eye roll as they all head towards the downstairs basement.
"The school took a big hit on this one," Bonnie says, as they reach the Boarding House and step out of the car, taking in the view before them.
Kaitlyn sighs in response, "yeah, it sure did. The restoration team is working day and night though."
"Oh god, I don't have a good feeling about this," Freya mumbles under her breath as the five walk into the school premises.
"Come on, one not-so-bad Gemini sociopath. What could go wrong?" Kaitlyn quizzes, her voice dripping with sarcasm.
"Hey, we gotta stay positive on this one. We got this," Bonnie nudges her, trying to get the encouragement going.
Kaitlyn hums in response as they walk downstairs into the chilly basement, where the boys were supposed to meet them.
"It's like I'm the one doing all the heavy lifting when I'm the human here," they hear Alaric's complain echo through the hollow walls.
"Ric, if you stopped complaining and actually did any heavy lifting, we'd be done by now, mate," Kol retorts with a sigh, "Enzo, buddy help me out a little. Move those bags out where they won't get in the way," he then instructs Enzo, while lifting some bags, himself.
"Tell me you're not just giving out orders but helping too," Davina quips as they enter the training room that was now dully lit, with bags of debris stacked around the corners.
"Of course not, darling. How could you think that?" Kol grins sarcastically as the others chuckle.
"You're very predictable, Koala Bear," Kaitlyn teases on as they all try to lighten up the atmosphere around them.
Before Kol can reply, however, Freya's phone starts to ring. She answers the call without checking the Caller ID and her face falls at whatever she must've heard. Thankfully, none of the people with supernatural hearing were paying attention, as they were busy arguing about something. Freya slowly edges closer to Kaitlyn and tugs on her arm, trying to get her attention. When Kaitlyn finally turns to face her with a confused look, Freya hands her the phone while mouthing, 'it's for you.'
Kaitlyn confusedly takes the phone from Freya and walks to the hallway, outside to answer the call.
"Hello?"
"Rose, it's me," she hears a voice she knew all too well.
"Eli, hi. Why aren't you calling me on my number?"
"I tried it a few times but I couldn't reach you so I got worried. Then Caroline answered after a while, saying you must've forgotten it at the mansion so I called Freya instead," he explains.
"Oh, do you have any news?" she asks in an almost-excited tone. She needed to hear some good news right now, before they went ahead with this plan.
"I...uh, nothing good enough to share. I was just worried and wanted to wish you luck. Also wanted to know if you needed me there or not," he then trails off.
"Um no, we've got this under control. You...can come back if you like, or if you have another lead. I um, I don't know. Do what you think is best," she answers, trying not to sound disappointed. But he heard it, all too clear in her voice. And she sounded miserable, helpless, hopeless.
"Alright, well I will be back sooner or later. Till then, I will keep in touch too. All of you stay safe. I'm sure the plan will work in your favor," Elijah reassures, not knowing what else to comfort her with.
"Yeah, fingers crossed. Stay safe, 'Lijah. See you at home soon then," she greets before turning around and seeing Freya stood behind her, with a small smile on her face. Kaitlyn hands her the phone before walking back in.
When Freya is sure that Kaitlyn had left, she speaks into the call, "why didn't you tell her about the new letter he left you?"
"She doesn't need to hear more of this now, Freya. She's struggling enough as it is," he retorts sternly.
"What is 'this'? What did the letter say?" Freya still quizzes.
Elijah sighs in frustration, "it said to stop following him. He isn't coming home anytime soon and he'd rather appreciate it if I stayed back in Mystic Falls, watching over her and Hope while he can't. No other explanation, whatsoever," he confesses and now it's Freya's turn to sigh.
"Even after all this time, he's letting his paranoia get to him."
"Except, I don't think that's what it is, this time. He's not paranoid when it comes to his love for his soulmate or his daughter. It's evident. Something has got him all worked up to distance himself from him loved ones. And he's just decided to disappear instead of explaining anything. We've seen this before, Freya. When we were away those 7 years, he cut off contact with all of us and now he's doing it again. Makes me think it's some big threat, again," Elijah confesses to his elder sister.
"And you think you can find out what it is?"
"I can't not try. When all this is over, I might need your help getting in contact with those witches from Italy," he tells her.
"Alright, we can talk about later. I going to go now. Stay safe," she says before ending the call and walking back to the group.
"Are we all set?" she asks and Kaitlyn nods in response, before saying, "Ric and Kol are getting the body. Gosh, this is so gross."
"Me, Freya and Bonnie should head to the woods, then. Set up the final spell," Davina speaks up and Kaitlyn nods in agreement.
"Yeah I'll stay with Jo," Kaitlyn responds as the other three leave and she waits with Jo, for the boys to get back.
Eventually, Alaric and Kol return while carrying a stretcher. On the stretcher, lay covered with a white cloth, the body if the one and only Gemini Sociopath- Kai Parker.
"So how do we do this?" Enzo asks as Kaitlyn walks towards the stretcher, that was now laid down in the middle of the room.
"Well it's simple- Jo does the resurrection spell to raise him. Kol and Enzo need to stay away, especially, so he can't siphon from you by chance. When Jo starts the merge spell, then, I'll do an immobilization spell to keep him weak, so he can't hurt her or anyone else. As soon as the merge is done, you speed Jo to the woods where Freya, Davina and Bonnie help us with the final spell to abolish the merge rule. Once that is done, all will be right in the world again," Kaitlyn summarizes the plan, causing the others to nod.
"Right, so we should start," she continues as she turns to Jo and then to the guys, "you all should step outside. Enzo, stay on a call with Bonnie so they know when to start their spell," Kaitlyn instructs him.
"I'm waiting here with you two," Kol says sternly as Alaric and Enzo turn to step outside as per Kaitlyn's instructions. Kaitlyn sighs in defeat, knowing there was no arguing against him.
"Alright Jo, ready when you are," Kaitlyn exhales in anxiousness as Jo nods, clasping her hands together and beginning to chant her resurrection spell. The air had gotten stiff and cold as the chanting went on. Vampires don't feel cold. It was a well-known fact but the air had gotten so chilly that even Kaitlyn and Kol had shared a few worried looks. All they were praying for was that nothing more goes wrong so they can complete their plan successfully and in due time. And as suddenly as it had gotten chilly, it was now as though the air was made of lava. There was a scourging heat everywhere now.
"What the hell is going on?" Kaitlyn mumbled to herself and just then, Jo stopped chanting.
"It worked," she informs breathlessly, causing Kol and Kaitlyn's eyes to widen.
Kaitlyn grabs a water bottle from the table in one corner of the room and walks back towards Kai's still body. She then crouches down and splatters some water over his face, trying to see if it wakes him up. It did. He flinches at the contact of the water and turns over, getting into a coughing fit.
"Here, water should help," Kaitlyn mumbles as she offers him the water bottle while Kol stays on high alert, in case he tries something. Jo remains frozen in her spot. It had been 16 years since she had seen her brother. It was at her wedding, when he killed her out of spite.
"Wh-where am I? What's going on?" Kai asks through his coughing fits as he takes the bottle from Kaitlyn's hand and gulps it all down.
This is when Kaitlyn decides to move away from him, considering he had recovered and was looking at Jo as if he had seen a ghost. Which, he probably had.
"How are you here? Are we all dead and together?" Kai quizzes as he tries to comprehend what was going on.
"We're not dead, Kai. Jo's back and we have something you need to do for us," Kaitlyn answers him, getting straights to the point.
This causes Kai to smirk at her, "anything for you, Lyndie Lyn. You know, I came here to greet you guys and Alerick said you weren't here. Something about getting engaged in Paris? Should I have brought flowers too?" he asks in a half-serious tone.
"For the thousandth time, Kai, it's Kaitlyn and it's Alaric! And yes, I was away. Of course, I had to cut the trip short when you decided to hurt my kids," Kaitlyn answers sarcastically, "but now that we're all here, how about we get this over with?"
Kaitlyn turns to look at Jo and earns a nod in response, causing her and Kol to step away as Jo walks over to Kai.
"Hello sister," Kai grins, "how did they manage to bring you back? You know, revenge was never your thing."
"It is now," Jo fires back, "right now, we're going to finish something that started way too long ago," Jo tells him as she holds out her hand for him to take.
"Finish what? You were dead, it was finished," Kai retorts, taking a step away from Jo as she takes one closer.
"You restarted it when you went after my daughters," Jo states sternly, causing Kai to chuckle.
"The daughters you didn't give birth to?" he goes on, trying to get a rise out of her.
"The daughters you stripped me away from having!" Jo yells out in anger as she advances even closer to Kai, "and now, I'm going to make you pay for it!"
"Let's do this, Lyn," Jo states while looking back at Kaitlyn and watches her nod. She then turns to grab ahold of Kai's hands and starts to chant their merge spell before Kai can try to siphon from her. Behind the twins, Kaitlyn begins the immobilization spell to weaken Kai.
"Ah, we've been here before," he jokes but earns no response, causing his anxiety to rise.
"You know you can't force me to merge without my will!" Kai yells over their chants but in vain, as he receives no reply. He then tries to shake off Jo's iron-grip on his arms but again, in vain. Soon enough, as a sign of the spell working, the basement windows start to swing open as strong gusts of wind surround them. Kaitlyn's immobilization spell takes action too as Kai gets visibly weaker and stumbles a little while staying stood. As the spell advances, Jo's necklace begin to glow a shade of icy blue and the glow soon surrounds her, meaning the extra witches' magic was working too. Both Kai and Jo yelp out in pain as they let go of each other's hands and fall back onto the ground. The wind halts just as Kaitlyn prevents Jo from hitting the ground and Kol catches Kai. Kol and Kaitlyn share a worried look, both looking at Jo, expectantly waiting for her to be the one to wake up.
"That was awfully easy," Kol murmurs but Kaitlyn hears him.
"Don't jinx it," she glares at him before looking down at Jo, whose head was rested on her lap, "come on, Jo. We got this."
Instantaneously, Jo gasps awake at the same time as Enzo walks back into the room. Jo's eyes turn completely white before shifting back into her eye sockets and turning their natural shade, except they look a little more like Kai's now.
"Did it work?" Jo asks Kaitlyn breathlessly and earns an ecstatic nod in response. Kaitlyn looks at Enzo with tears in her eyes and instructs for him to tell the others to get started on the final spell.
"Alright, it's go time, witchy," Enzo tells Bonnie through the call before hanging up and walking over to Kai's body, "what do we do with this?"
"We bury him. Find a discreet place in the woods and dig deeper than 6 feet so no one can ever tell there's a grave there," Kaitlyn answers and Enzo nods as Kol helps him move Kai's body into a bodybag.
"Almost done, Jo. Ready?" Kaitlyn then asks Jo a with a sad smile and Jo nods in return.
"I've been waiting for Kai's doom for years now. This should've felt more powerful," Jo comments causing Kaitlyn to chuckle.
"I know what you mean. This was too easy but that only works in our favor so I'm not complaining," Kaitlyn replies, "now, let's get going?"
Jo holds onto Kaitlyn's hand tightly as Kaitlyn speeds them both to the area in the woods where Freya, Bonnie and Davina were waiting for them with Alaric.
เผโผ๏ธโพ๏ธ๊จ๏ธโฝ๏ธโผ๏ธเผ
Mystic Falls Forests
Kaitlyn speeds herself and Jo to the woods and stops outside the Salvatore crypt, where the others were waiting for them.
"There you are!" she hears Kol's voice greet them as they come to a stop, "Enzo's gone to deal with the body. I'm staying with you guys."
"We don't have much time to waste," Bonnie chimes in frantically, "it's a big and intricate spell. We need to get it absolutely right."
"We will," Kaitlyn reassures them, even herself.
Freya nods and Davina walks over to them, placing a small bowl over a burner and sprinkling some salt over it. "We need some of your blood in this," she tells Jo before turning to Kaitlyn, "and some of the girls' as well."
"I have the vials," Alaric tells them and hands her two vials with Lizzie and Josie's blood in them.
"Right, we're all set then," Freya says as Jo slits her palm and drops some blood into the mix.
Kaitlyn sighs loudly before walking over to the other witches. Jo stands right ahead of the bowl, with Davina beside her. Next was Bonnie, Freya and Kaitlyn, forming a circle around the burner and salt-line that they had set up.
"Let's do this. One shot. No do-overs," Kaitlyn tells them and they all nod before beginning the final spell.
"Venez sanguis. Venez sanguis, Venez sanguis la force de la bรชte ร moi.
Venez sanguis. Venez sanguis, Venez sanguis la force de la bรชte ร moi.
Venez sanguis. Venez sanguis, Venez sanguis la force de la bรชte ร moi."
The wind picks up vigorously and starts to spin into a whirlwind as all dead leaves and dust starts to collect into it.
"Is it working?" Enzo asks as he joins the group again.
"There's no way to tell until they stop the spell. I know the words to this, it's an ancient spell that was abolished after it was declared to go against nature's ways," Kol replies, "this is a modified version, obviously."
Suddenly, they notice Jo detaching herself from Davina and Kaitlyn and walking closer to the bowl of blood. The blood had turned a weird shade between a proper red and a green and was clotted into the center of the bowl. Jo then begins to chant a different spell as the others go on with the old one.
"Anular forte รฉ les forte a las.
Anular forte รฉ les forte a las.
Anular forte รฉ les forte a las."ย
Jo then jumps back and abruptly stops the spell as the blood in the bowl catches fire. Kaitlyn opens her eyes to catch sight of what was happening. As soon as the fire dies down, so does the wind. The witches slowly stop the spell and exchange looks with each other. Lastly, Jo holds the bowl in her hands and her necklace begins to glow icy-blue again, meaning the ancestors were completing their spell. As soon as the glow goes out, the bowl in Jo's hands cracks but no blood spills out, as all of it had somehow disappeared.
"Did it work?" Alaric asks anxiously, not being able to take the silence anymore.
No one answers him, causing Enzo to ask again. This time, Bonnie nods half-heatedly.
"We...there's no way to actually tell if it worked until Jo returns. But so far, the signs are good," Freya tells them causing the men to sigh in relief.
"You...you guys did it! Bee, you saved the girls!" Alaric walks over and hugs her tightly. She hugs back, breaking down in his arms, finally letting her emotions out now that she knew the girls were safe.
"Hey hey, you're alright. We're supposed to be celebrating!" Kol pulls Kaitlyn away from Alaric and tries to cheer her up. She lets out a short laugh though her tears and turns to hug Jo tightly.
"Thank you for everything!" she mumbles into the hug.
Jo chuckles in response, "hey, I should be saying that."
"Sorry to break this beautiful moment but we don't have much time. Sunrise is in an hour," Bonnie informs, causing Kaitlyn and Jo to break away from the hug.
"Ric, take Jo home to the girls. I think you four need to have this talk alone," Kaitlyn tells him and he nods hesitantly before grabbing ahold of Jo's hand and beginning to walk back to the mansion.
Kaitlyn turns to face the rest of the group, "I can't thank you guys enough for everything you've done for me. Not just now but always, and I don't know how I got so lucky with you all but I love you and thank you so much for helping my girls," she thanks them wholeheartedly.
"Anything for you," Bonnie replies with a smile and the others nod.
"Anything for my nieces too," Kol chimes in causing Kaitlyn to smile, "but now it's been a long day and we should all head back."
"Yeah you guys go ahead, I need a moment," Kaitlyn tells them, causing Bonnie and Kol to frown.
"Wh-What why? I'll stay," Kol retorts but Kaitlyn shakes her head 'no'.
"No guys, please. I'm fine. I just need a second alone. I'll be home soon, I promise," she says while looking at Kol pleadingly.
Freya soon realizes why Kaitlyn was wanting to stay back and she speaks up next, "yeah take all the time you need. We'll give you some time to yourself," she tells Kaitlyn as she forcibly ushers the others away from the her, earning a thankful smile from Kaitlyn, in response.
After the others have left, Kaitlyn walks into the Salvatore crypt and settles down on a stone bench around a corner, fiddling with her fingers before sighing loudly and bringing out a letter from her dress' pocket.
"To my love, mi sol, my everything-
Kaitlyn Rosalia Hart..."
