ROOKIE GROUP CONTROVERSY - WISH'S SARA INJURED

two weeks after their debut, wish had their hot debut stage on m countdown, which was received to mixed reviews. many fans were quick to point out sara's leg injuries.

i'm sure you've heard already, but sara was injured earlier this month in a car accident caused by a sasaeng. although wish continued with their debut on schedule, they delayed their debut stage in order for sara to heal.

the group debuted on october 29 with the mini album: nightmare featuring five songs, including the eerie but catchy title track 'trick-or-treat' and the japanese track 'don't lie.'

however, the group faced a tragedy just one day before debut when their main dancer and center apsara prasarttong was the victim in a car accident that left her hospitalized. although neither the hospital nor the group has released an official statement regarding her injuries, fans have noted that they seem minimal. it is unknown if the injury was caused with malicious intent.

two weeks later, wish participated in their hot debut stage after sara supposedly healed from her injuries. but many fans were quick to point out that her legs still seemed injured as she was seen not only limping on stage but her knees were covered in athletic tape.

it remains unclear why wl entertainment would force sara to participate while she was so clearly injured, although they did give bae sara's original dance break and didn't perform any of their other songs. however, they didn't give sara a chance to rest and opt out of the debut stage or even sit on the side and sing her part.

many antis are comparing this to jennie of blackpink's 'lazy' scandal and calling sara out for 'faking her injury' and not being cheerful enough on stage. they are claiming that the accident involving sara was not as serious as fans claim and that sara is only milking it for attention.

the group attracted hate because of the scandals surrounding some of the members, and many netizens were concerned that the overuse of the girl crush/dark concept would be their eventual downfall, but wish was an instant hit among the k-pop community.

the group received their first win today on inkigayo two weeks after their debut, making them one of the fasted girl groups to achieve their win.

fans say that the seven members cried on or as they were leaving the encore stage of trick-or-treat, saddened by sara's inability to perform following the accident. hazel's touching speech soon trended on twitter as #getwellsoonsara and #totfirstwinforsara, which beyond showing love for wish's missing member also shows that the group has a major international presence as well.
