ย Hello! I'm finally back after Spring break. (Spoiler alert: I slept through the entire thing lmfao.) Now I'm back at school, forced to to wake up way too early. So if some wording is a bit messy, blame it on my lack of sleep. Anyway, enough about my problems, I've delivered some more angst, because I have a love hate relationship with it. Live Laugh Love the Calamity trio, and stay slay. ๐ย
ย Fun Fact!: "Watching sunsets is about when someone decides to unalive themselves and the people who are left here to think about them and remember them. And they do that by watching sunsets." (I did my own take on it and decided to use sunrises because the sun symbolizes renewed life and everlasting life, as well as light, warmth and hope. The sunrise empowers you to come out of your dark past that was characterized by pain and suffering into pure light. Meaning a new beginning, fitting for (Y/N)'s past.)

Do you find it all right, my dragonfly?"

For as long as you remember, you admired the sun. Every morning, the light would break the darkness and paint a beautiful sky of colors. You would stare in awe, entranced by the beauty of the sky, and never doubting your admiration for the sun. As the brilliance of the sun shines within you.
When you were young, people would compliment you and praise your mother for raising such a golden child at a young age. You got perfect grades, and were overall more advanced than other children, despite being the age of five. Not to mention social, often having to be dragged away from kind strangers in public due to talking their ears off.
You were the pride of your family, a beautiful young girl surrounded by the brilliant, and destined to be just as bright. A golden child. Expected to be extraordinary at everything, not make mistakes, and essentially be "perfect." But no one can be perfect. Most golden children fall apart as they grow in age, breaking from the stress of expectations and the fear of failure.
Life for you was easy until it wasn't.
Your family fell apart in the blink of an eye, and the person you wanted to protect the most, was wrongfully murdered. You had failed, and your sparkle had dimmed.
Now you see sunrises in a different light. A reminder to have hope and keep going, as the sun always rises.ย

Weeks have passed since you moved to California, and you spent time hanging out with Sasha, Anne, and Marcy.
Recently, you learned the three had a band together called "Sasha and the Sharps," and you were invited to come to watch them play after school.
Today was the anniversary of your sister's passing, and your mother planned a trip to a beautiful flower field, in honor of your sister. You had already packed the car because your mother still had work, so you skipped school to get ready.
Digging into the back of your closet, you pulled a white summer dress out of the back, and some lace-up sandals. Your hair was braided with white lilies in it, and you adorned your ears with matching earrings.
The school day had finally ended, so you went downstairs ready to walk to Sasha's house. Grabbing your phone, you walked out the front door.

You arrived at Sasha's house and knocked on the door. To your surprise, no one answered. You peeked through the windows but saw no one. Giving up on the front door, you walked around to the back door.
Walking in through the back, you heard music playing from the garage. Out of curiosity, you went over to the garage and snuck in through a door.
There you saw the three, all playing instruments. You couldn't help but stare, shocked by how good they were. They eventually finished playing, and Sasha was the first to notice you.
"Oh- Hey (Y/N)," Sasha said, blushing.
Anne and Marcy turned to look at you.
"Hey, guys! Sorry for the random appearance, I tried knocking haha."
Sasha replies, "It's fine, I'm glad you could make it. What did you think of our song?"
"It was amazing! You guys are seriously talented!"
"Haha, Thanks."
Anne walked up to you with a blush present on her face. "Hey (Y/N), you look beautiful."
(Marcy and Sasha agreed.)
You smiled. "Thanks, Anne."
"I know this is sudden, but can I tell you something?"
Sasha gave Anne a suspicious look.
"Sure. What is it?"
Anne began to whisper to you."I really like-"
"Hey (Y/N), do you know how to play an instrument?" Sasha interrupted. (Jealousy much? ๐ค๐)
'I-'
You were surprised by her actions but replied to her anyway.
"Yeah, I can play the electric guitar and the violin, even a little bit of piano."
"Wanna try mine?" She held up her guitar.
You hesitated but decided a small attempt wouldn't hurt. Carefully taking the guitar from Sasha, you played a few notes.
Sasha smirked at you. "Wow, you're really good. Now that I think about it, we could use a fourth member. Would you be interested?"
"Uh- I don't know. I've never really thought about being in a band, and I wouldn't want to barge into something you created."
"That's okay, take all the time you need to think about it."
You nodded and handed back the guitar, still curious about what Anne was going to ask you. (You're pretty oblivious when it comes to people crushing on you.)
After listening to the band play for a while, they decided it was time for a break. Marcy sat next to you, switch in hand.
"Oh hey Marcy. What's up?"
She smiled widely at you, tiny sparkles in her eyes.ย "Hey (Y/N)! Have you heard of this game before? Your outfit reminds me of this character. She's an elf. If you build her right, she can do big damage! She's one of my favorites, like '___'. Even though '___' doesn't do as much damage."
Marcy continued to ramble about the game, and you listened to the entire thing, knowing what it was like not having many people interested in the things you enjoy
While listening to Marcy talk about her game, you took one of the flowers from your hair and tucked it in hers. She froze from the sudden action, her cheeks turning pink.
"It looks good on you. Not that you need it because you're already beautiful."
She stared at you flustered, and you smiled. Still embarrassed, she almost fell backwards, only to be caught by you.
"Woah- Be careful."
"T-Thank you.."
"Don't mention it." You winked at her.
'I'm so gay im so gay im so gay im so gay im so gay im so gay im so gay.'
Marcy fidgeted with the end of her skirt, visibly flustered and more interested in the floor than her game.
After things calmed down, the two of you continued to chat about games. However, you were unaware you were still holding her hand after you had prevented her from falling.

Your mother had finally arrived to pick you up from Sasha's house after an hour or two. You waved goodbye to the three and left, ready to get the rest of the day over with.
You got in the car, and after some time, reached your destination. A beautiful field was full of an assortment of flowers.
You walked to the middle of the field, words stuck in your throat. Your mother put her hand on your shoulder to show her support.
Pulling a small lantern out of your pocket, you grabbed a lighter and lit the part under it. (Imagine the lanterns from Tangled.) Slowly, a small design of a single rose appeared.
A tear rolled down your cheek and landed on the lantern. 'It's time.'
Using your vacant hand, you grabbed your mother's wrist and guided her hand to the lantern.
"I want to do this together."
She nodded, not bothering to say anything, and held the other side of the lantern. You both lifted it, and it floated into the sky, blending in with the other stars.
You said, still feeling bittersweet. "She's with the stars now."
A better place, wherever it may be, is where your sister resides.
'Humanity is cruel, and such innocence is undeserving of such an awful fate. She's away from the world's evil, but I still can't help but wish she was still here.'
Your mother caressed your cheek with her hand to comfort you.
You held her hand and looked away. "It's ok. I'm fine. It was a long time ago."
"Are you sure?"
You paused. "I am."
She nodded and let go of your grasp, waiting on you.
"I think it's time to go home."
And you did. By the time you got home, the sun began to rise.
