Chris's POV

As Leon and I entered the large spacious room, we peered all around the darkened area. Taking in our new surroundings. We couldn't see much at all, due to how dark it was in here. Almost pitch black. The only source of light in the room were small red rays coming from a large rectangular window. Shining down upon us, from high up on the metal wall on the right of us. I turn on the flashlight at the end of my rifle, while Leon turned on his tiny flashlight connected to his ear piece and the one on his gun too.

As we began exploring and investigating the room, we haven't found Laura or Tyler, or any signs of them being here. If I knew any better, we were in some kind of testing room. Making the room with the window connected to this one some sort of control room. 'This could be a trap.'

All of the walls, including the floor, are made out of some sort of metallic-based material. With tiny speakers and security cameras hung up all over the area. The speakers were fixed in all of the top corners on the ceiling above us. Along with a mini, but noticeable projector attached a metal rod that's suspended from the ceiling. On the right of us, there's a metal staircase—leading up to another door located to the right of the window.

Lastly, there were several reinforced cages built into the walls all around us. The sounds of inhumane moans and groans can be heard from inside most of the cages. The only thing separating us from whatever maybe trapped inside, were the numerous thick metal bars.

While we were observing our surrounds, we began hearing violent screeching and the sound of gunshots coming from the control room on the right of us. I was surprised even more, when Leon and I caught a glimpse of both Piers and his brother Tyler inside the room.

I instantly felt relieved knowing that Piers and Tyler are alive and okay. But that's not all. Not only did I see them, I caught of glimpse of a Hunter... 'Ugh, not one of those things. I hate Hunters. Oh no... If they're in there, Laura must be with them too. Oh shit, they're in deep trouble!'

"Chris, come on! We have to hurry!" Leon stated, as we promptly started rushing our way over towards the stairs. "They're in trouble, and Laura's is inside with them!"

"Chris! Leon! How nice of you two to drop by." Another familiar voice said over the speakers.

I stopped dead in my tracks and turned around—raising my rifle while Leon continued heading up the staircase towards the door.

'Wait a minute! I recognize that voice from anywhere...'

As if on cue, the projector turns on and aimed at the wall behind us. I quickly react by aiming my gun at the wall. As it turns on, it shows Wesker. Sitting at a well-polished black desk, with his gloved hands neatly folded and resting on the desktop in front of him.

"Wesker?!"

"Long time no see... Chris," He said, as a smirk curled onto his lips, then directed his gaze over towards Leon. "And you must be Mr. Kennedy, how nice to finally make your acquaintance." Leon gazed straight back at him for the moment, before continuing up the stairs.

'It can't be... I thought he was dead. Sheva and I killed him ourselves... I saw him die in that volcano with my very own eyes.'

"You bastard, you're supposed to be dead!" I shouted at him, in an irritated tone.

"Oh really... Did you think that it would be that easy. To get rid of someone like me, a god? You're gonna have to do better than that, Chris."

"Chris, the door's locked! I can't get it open!" Leon shouted, as he tried opening it. I glance back at Leon behind me, then turn around to peer back at Wesker.

"Now, now, you two won't be going anywhere. I don't need both of you to meddle any further than you already have with my plans. Well, that's if you don't anything bad happening to poor little Claire, would you?" Wesker taunted us.

I grumble in a low tone, as I had a sudden realization. Hitting me very hard like a bag of boulders. 'He was the one who kidnapped Claire!'

"Where's Claire?! What've you done to my little sister?!" I demanded.

"Don't worry Chris, Claire is perfectly safe in my hands. For now..."

"You son of a bitch!" Leon yelled at Wesker, as he turned around to face him. "If you lay even a single finger on her, you'll be dead meat! That, I can guarantee."

"You shouldn't really be making empty threats, Leon. Especially promises you can't even keep," Wesker said, as he chuckled. Provoking the both of us even further with rage and anger, but mostly Leon. "I would love to stay right now to witness both of your demises, but unfortunately, I've got work to do. Have fun playing with my latest and brand new bioweapons—"

The room suddenly fell silent, until we all heard a loud ear-piercing scream, coming from the room next door. Grabbing everyone's attention. 'Laura.'

Wesker instantaneously glanced over towards the window, his smirk slowly vanishing. A sign of his sudden change of mood. Which puzzled us a bit. Without further delay, he disappeared off the wall, as the projector turned off.

"Shit... Chris!" Leon called out, as he met up with me at the bottom of the staircase. "We need to find a way out of here, and quick! We don't have much time."

"I know, we need to get out of here before–" The sounds of an alarm started going off, as the lights were turned on in the room.

"Stand by, stand by... Test Trial number 0115 will commence shortly. Locking all doors and exits in the testing grounds until further notice," A female robotic monotone voice announced, as the door we just came through was closing. Locking itself automatically.

'You've gotta be kidding me...' I thought to myself, feeling very annoyed at this point.

"Chris! Leon...!?" Someone called out over the speakers.

We glance up, over at the large window. Feeling more relieved than ever to see Piers and Tyler, but all of that changed for me, as soon as I laid my eyes on Ada. 'But where's Laura???'

"Ada?!"

"It's good to see you too, Leon," Ada said to him, as she glanced up for a moment. While she was typing away on what looked like a computer.

"Piers! Tyler! You guys alright?!" I asked them.

"We're fine Chris. We may have a few bumps and scratches, but we'll live," Piers replied.

Leon glanced back at me. "Seriously Chris?! You brought a kid with you?" He whisper-yelled at me.

"Technically, he's a teenager Leon. Look, I'll explain later once we're out of here," I whispered back to him, as he shifted his gaze back at Piers and Tyler.

Ada's POV

"Piers, where's Laura?! Is she okay?!" I heard Chris ask his partner, while I was trying to deactivate the testing sequence using one of the computers. 'This is gonna be more difficult than I thought it would be. Someone else is controlling this simulation, if not automatically. They're directing every aspect, and detail of this trial. Making sure that neither Leon and Chris don't make it out of there alive. The real question is who? Who's trying to eliminate them?'

"Chris, she's fine. Laura's resting right now–" Piers was cut off by the announcement made over the speakers.

"Commencing test trial number 0115. Setting difficulty to level 1. Opening cages: E1, E2, and E3." A female robotic monotone voice stated.

I peered up from the computer screen—seeing all of the cages on the left of Chris and Leon began opening in the testing room. 'I have to pick up my pace and deactivate the testing sequence before it's too late. I doubt that Chris will thank me for this, but I know Laura will.'

Once the cages were fully opened, a whole legion of infected came stumbling out of each of them. Immediately heading towards their targets, Chris and Leon. With their weapons in hand, they began shooting at incoming horde. Due to how massive the mob of undead were, the guys ended up getting separated from one another.

Leaving both of them to fight off multiple infected at once on their own.

I doubt that it would be a problem for them at all—considering how very experienced both of them are, and how long that they've been dealing with this kind of work.

While the guys were busy dealing the horde of infected, I was occupied with trying to bypass the last firewall. All of a sudden, I hear a door opening behind us. Quickly glancing back, I see two Tricell agents enter the room. 'Shit. They're here for Laura.'

Once both of them were inside with us, they began open firing at us. Piers and Tyler instantly took cover behind one of the desks, while I ducked behind a nearby one.

As I peeked from behind the desk, with my shotgun in hand, the other agent grabbed Laura. Throwing the girl over his shoulder. While she was still unconscious. As he was about to make a run for it, Piers was able to stop him by shooting his legs. Causing him collapse onto the ground, dropping Laura in the process.

As the other operative slightly turned his head for the moment, Tyler took the opportunity and shot both of them in the head with his Silver ghost. Killing them instantly on impact.

Laura's POV

As I was still laying on the ground, with my eyes closed, I began to hear things. Like the sounds of small feet, scuttling across the ground covered with wood chips. A swing squeaking as it moved back and forth. The clattering of several feet—walking along a solid surface. Children talking and laughing happily with one another. Along with the simple sounds of traffic in the background, cars honking as they drove by. 'Where am I? Wasn't I just in an underground lab?'

When I opened my eyes, I was blinded harshly by the sunlight. I moved my hand in front of eyes, to block out the orange tinted bright light. 'Wait a minute, sunlight? I thought it was night time.'

As I slowly got up off the ground, I noticed I wasn't wearing my tactical outfit, but the previous outfit I had on before it. The strap of my purse was hanging over my shoulder, as I was holding onto it. My blonde hair back up in a high ponytail, with my bangs tucked neatly behind each ear.

As I looked all around me, I recognized where I was right away. I was at East Queen Anne Playground. Located up in the northern part of Seattle. My adoptive parents took me here all the time when I was younger. I loved playing here as a kid, despite how lonely I was. I remember this place very well. This is where I met Emile and Tyler for the first time.

As I glanced around, I noticed that I wasn't the only one here. There are kids of all ages playing on the playground in front of me. While most of their parents were either sitting at a bench, or standing at a distance. Watching them, as the children played with one another while having fun.

As I glanced over to the far right, I see the swing set. Over at the swing set, there was a little girl. Sitting all alone on one of the swings, as she kicked the rocks underneath her feet. Her parents seemed to be nowhere in sight. So, I decided to walk over to her to see if she was okay.

"Excuse me missy, where are your parents?" I asked her softly. "You shouldn't be here all alone by yourself."

When I carefully approach her, she slowly lifted her head. Glancing up at me. The little girl appeared to be around the age of either five or six years old. She was wearing a white long-sleeve v-neck shirt, overlapped by a dark blue overall dress that went down to her knees, blue flats, and white long socks to went halfway to her knees. Her skin was pale like mine, along with her blue eyes and blonde hair. It was up in a high ponytail, with blue ribbon tied around it in a bow.

It didn't take me long to realize that the little girl was me, well "young" me technically. My eyes went round, as I was utterly shocked. 'Am I dreaming or something? This can't be real.' I thought to myself, as I stared down at her.

"It isn't over yet Laura. You're still in danger. He's still after you. Don't let him catch you," Young Laura warned me in her girly childish voice.

"Who? Who's after me?"

She lifted her small hand, pointing her finger at a tree behind me.

"Daddy..." Young Laura muttered quietly in a low tone, barely audible to hear.

I turned around, looking in the direction she was pointing at. My jaw practically dropped at who was hiding partially behind it.

It was Wesker.

He came out from behind the tree—chuckling evilly as a smirk curled onto his lips. I glance back behind me, the little girl was gone. So was everybody else. The park now looked completely abandoned. The sky began growing dark, as it was becoming very cloudy too. The wind was picking up—blowing dead leaves everywhere as the clouds blocked out the sun. In addition to these environmental changes, all I could hear now was the constant faint sounds of children giggling and laughing in the air. Making me think that I'm going crazy at this point. I covered my ears momentarily to block out the constant laughing, as Wesker started walking slowly towards me. I tried to make a run for it, but I couldn't move my legs. It was like they were glued to the ground.

Without even realizing it, I was back in my tactical outfit again. With my AK-12 223 rifle in my hands. Fully locked and loaded. The next thing I know, my body was hit with an immense wave of pain. Causing me to yelp out in agony and fall to my knees, as I gripped my left shoulder. My shoulder was hurting very badly, and I didn't know why. I couldn't remember why. As the pain became progressively worse, I felt something warm flow down my right cheek. Dripping constantly onto the ground.

I moved one of my hands—feeling my cheek carefully. When I pulled my gloved hand away, I saw that it was stained with blood. My blood. When Wesker approached me, I glanced up at him from the ground. Fear written practically all over my face.

"There's nowhere you can hide now Laura. You're mine now."

There's no way I'm giving up that easily. I grabbed my rifle—attempting to shoot Wesker with it. Thanks to his inhuman speed, he was able to grab my rifle. Ripping it right out of my hands before I could even pull the trigger, and tossed it aside.

As he threw a punch at me, I barely duck in time, as I grab my S.T.A.R.S. knife out of its sheath. I stand back up—attempting to stab him. Once again one step ahead of me, Wesker quickly grabbed my hand. Twisting it very painfully and making me drop my knife. Next, he pinned both of my arms behind my back, and shoved me roughly against a tree. I struggle and wrestle fiercely underneath Wesker, as he held me down.

"This will only hurt a little Laura, only if you have my superior genes of course," Wesker stated, as he took out a large needle from out of his pocket.

My eyes widened, seeing how big the needle is. I had no idea what kind of substance that the needle was full of, but it doesn't change the fact that there was no way in hell that I wanted him to inject that stuff into my system!

As he raised the needle, slowly moving closer towards my neck, I heard someone familiar call out that me. I turned my head to the right—seeing my mother Claire. Mom was running over to us as fast as could, as she continued to call out to me.

"Laura! Laura, wake up!"

But, her voice didn't sound exactly like her. It sounded like... like Ada.

When I opened my eyes again, I see Ada kneeling beside me on the ground, as she was shaking my shoulders. I sighed in relief. 'Thank god. It was only just a dream. Or was it?'
