Chapter forty-six; The Battle of Hogwarts, Part Six

<=>

Several birds were chirping back and forth from up in the trees, enjoying the bright sun in the early hours of the morning.

The ground underneath her was hard and uncomfortable and she opened her eyes to see blurs of green hanging above her. Nothing about her vision was clear and everything twisted in swirls. It took some minutes of rapid blinking to be able to see clearly again.

She felt like she'd been trampled on by a herd of Hippogriffs and her head throbbed when she sat up. With a loud groan she looked around lazily. She knew where she was, although she was confused by the lack of people there. When she had arrived last night Voldemort and his most loyal followers, or what was left of them, had been gathered there along with Harry โ€” but none of them were to be seen.

A small tickling in her left arm forced her to look down.

"Your body is weak, you need to be healed."

Olivianna's words were as clear as day in her head and her stomach twisted at the gruesome sight. Her scar on her arm had been completely reopened and fresh blood ran out of the open wound. It was the second injury she'd acquired in the space of two days.

She leaned forwards and lifted up her trouser leg to grab her wand that she'd hidden and tired to heal herself as best as she could. All she could manage was to slow the blood flow down and she had to tear the bottom of her t-shirt off to wrap around her arm.

"Bloody hell." She murmured, looking down to the fabric wrapped around her arm. It wouldn't hold for long, she needed to get to Madam Pomfrey as soon as she could.

Getting to her feet was a lot easier than what she thought it would be, despite feeling a slight dizziness her head was much clearer. She couldn't remember the last time she felt like thisโ€” healthier, even when she was bleeding out.

She was alone, besides the birds chirping above her, and she couldn't really figure out why. Voldemort and his followers had been there when she passed out and now they were gone. She knew she hadn't been moved somewhere else but the only other logical explanation was that they'd returned to the castle.

For all Olivia knew, the fight could've been well underway again and she was stood there without the faintest idea.

She needed to get back to the castle quickly and with her wand in her hand she closed her eyes to really focus on where she needed to be. Somewhere hidden around the castle, possibly outside, so if the fight had started again she wouldn't be apparating into the middle of it.

Her body twisted uncomfortably and she screwed her eyes shut to distract herself from the feeling. When her feet hit hard stone she opened her eyes again.

It wasn't what she was expecting, not by a long shot and she ducked behind one of the pillars around the courtyard to avoid being seen. She turned so she could see what was going on, her stomach resting against the cold stone.

There was a large crowd of Death Eaters, all stood behind Voldemort, and Hagrid on one side. On the opposite was everyone fighting on their side, stood closer towards the castle doors.

And finally there was a boy stood in the middle of them all, holding the black sorting hat in one hand while leaning on one foot. That boy was Neville Longbottom and he was in the middle of facing up to Voldemort.

"Yeah, we lost Harry tonight.. and Olivia but they're still with us, in here." He said, pointing to his heart, "So is Fred, Remus, Tonks, Alexis.. all of them. They didn't die in vein, but you will because your wrong! Harry's heart did beat for us, for all of us! It's not over!"

At that moment, the roles reversed for the last time.

Neville Longbottom pulled the Sword of Gryffindor out from inside of the Sorting Hat and Harry Potter scrambled out of the arms of a half-giant and fell to the floor unarmed.

Gasps of shock and small cheers erupted and Olivia caught Voldemort's wand rising in Harry's direction.

"Potter!"

Draco Malfoy ran from his mothers side towards Harry, throwing his wand through the air for Harry to catch in order for him to defend himself.

Harry caught the wand, prepared to deflect the spell but instead a bright light blinded him as the sound of something hitting a barrier ricocheted and echoed over the large space.

The purity of the bright eruption of light blinded everyone and when it cleared the cheers grew louder.

Stood in front of Harry โ€” smirking valiantly โ€” was Olivia, her hands in front of her to cover her face. Voldemort's spell hit her hands like a hot spurt of fire but cooled enough for her to take it through her body.

She smirked at Voldemort as she added her own twist onto his spell, taking it through her hands to draw it out into a large white ball. She manoeuvred the magic through the air with her hands before stepping back in preparation and throwing it forwards using all her weight to push it in the direction of Voldemort.

She turned her back to Voldemort to see Harry and narrowed her eyes at him, "You fucking idiot! Why did you give me the Resurrection Stone?"

Harry spluttered in shock, "Yeah, your welcome Olivia."

She rolled her eyes when they heard the enraged cry of Voldemort behind them and turned at the last minute to deflect another spell he had fired towards them. She and Harry fired their own spells as Harry grabbed Olivia's hand to pull her away from the scene and towards where Olivia had been hiding.

The two ducked for cover as Voldemort fired a series of blasting spells their way, each one creating a large gust of fire.

Still holding on to each other's hands tightly they climbed over the pile of rubble that had built up over the course of the night to get to the castle doors.

Some of Voldemort's followers disapparated from the scene quickly while others sprung forwards in order to finish the fight that had quickly started again.

Olivia and Harry met an astonished looking Hermione and Ron at the front doors of the castle where the two finally let go of each other's hands.

"Get everyone to stay in the castle!" Harry shouted over the noise, "We have to kill the snake."

Olivia fired a spell off the top of her head to the large group stalking towards them when she lost her sight to dizziness again. She fell into the castle wall and her stomach twisted with nauseousness โ€” a second later she was coughing, bringing up bile from her stomach.

"Olivia what the hell?!" She heard Ron shout over the noise.

She spat on to the ground and looked at the makeshift bandage on her arm. Blood was starting to seep through and she inhaled deeply.

"Harry we need to finish this now!" She called over to him.

"We need to kill the snake first!"

"Well then get on with it!" She shouted to him with wide eyes.

At the time, Voldemort has cast towards them in fury and Neville Longbottom jumped in front of Harry bravely. Voldemort's spell hit him square in the chest and he rebounded backwards through the air until he hit the ground in the entrance hall.

Harry stared at Olivia in shock until she ushered him away, "Go! Go and kill that fucking snake!"

"Butโ€”"

"โ€”No buts Potter, I'll find you when it's time!"

Harry nodded wordlessly before running off into the castle and separating from the three. Ron turned to Olivia once more with a scowl on his face, "What were you thinking Olivia?!" He shouted, "How could you do that?"

"What save my life?!" She yelled back, "I was dying Ron! If I hadn't of gone I would've died!"

"You almost did die!"

"But I'm here now aren't I?" She asked, "So let's just get this shit done so I can find a nice corner to sit down and collapse in!"

Chaos had once again reigned throughout the castle and Olivia was struggling to stay upright for the most part. She could feel her own blood soaking itself into the cotton she had wrapped around her arm and the thought made her nauseous enough to almost pass out โ€” several times. But she had an important job to do and that was to save her world.

She had split from Ron and Hermione, who went to find Nagini in order to kill her, and was keeping Death Eaters out of the castle when she spotted Fenrir Greyback, looking like he was cornering a student into a wall. In a fury, she pulled the small dagger out of her boot that she'd snatched up from Dolohov and shouted him from across the space while throwing the dagger towards him.

She stayed to watch until it hit him square in the back and turned around to run back into the castle when he started to fall to the floor. Although she missed the perfect opportunity to see who she had saved from Greyback. And she stood there in complete shock, having only reopened her own eyes minutes ago..

Fighting her way to the Great Hall was difficult. She could physically see the doors but getting there was going to take forever. Everywhere she turned there was a threat, a Death Eater aiming at her, or a student in trouble.

All she wanted to do was find Madam Pomfrey so she could fully heal her and she could get on with destroying Voldemort's arse. But, as always, someone wanted to try and kill her.

Amycus Carrow was apparently unkillable and was out for Olivia's head. He appeared out of literally nowhere, grinning maliciously with a wand that wasn't his aimed right at her face. The Carrow brother fired quickly at her and she blocked it while rolling her eyes, "Come on Carrow, give it up already."

Amycus narrowed his eyes and fired again, "I will when your dead."

Olivia blocked the spell with her wand, taking a step back. Amycus was pushing her further towards the Great Hall, but she had her back to the most part of the fight and the thought unnerved her.

"It's over Amycus!" Olivia shouted over the loud echoing of spells while firing her own, "We've already won."

Amycus cast back with such strength that Olivia was forced to engage in the duel โ€” locking in and causing her to step back again, and again and again. Eventually she broke the duel, throwing it off to the side as the man argued, "For as long as the Dark Lord lives we will remain the victors."

Olivia rolled her eyes, stepping backwards as Amycus stepped forwards, "He's practically dead! There's nothing keeping him alive anymore besides his snake and when she's dead he'll be defenceless."

Anger twisted on his face and he cast at Olivia again, "He will have us."

Olivia kept on stepping back until she hit the back of something, or rather someone and engaged in a final duel with the Carrow brother, "Not if your already dead."

As quickly as they started, she could feel her energy dripping out of her although the pure white that emitted from her wand distracted so many. Death Eaters and students had stopped to watch Olivia duel Amycus in awe and shock as she overpowered him quickly. The green that collided with Olivia's white was almost completely gone and Amycus stumbled back when her spell finally hit him. As a final blow, she waved her wand around her head before aiming back at the falling man, "Stupefy!"

Amycus Carrow flew through the air until his back hit the ground meters away from where he had been standing. Seeing him hit the floor, Olivia exhaled deeply and lowered her wand, taking a step back and hitting into something behind her.

It was the first time she'd realised she'd backed into something and she turned around to see what it was. She faced the back of another person. A dirty and ripped black suit wrapped around their body and almost white curls covered the back of their head. And while they had their back to her, Olivia recognised the person instantly for she had spent some seven years sitting behind them in classes.

And then they turned around and the time slowed drastically.

Even covered in dirt and his own blood, with dried tears on his face, Draco would forever be beautiful to Olivia. Seeing his face as the person she had accidentally backed into caused her to go weak at the knees, like she had done in previous years. Butterflies swarmed her stomach and a giddy smile covered her face.

Out of everyone there, fighting, she bumped into him.

I said this would be the penultimate chapter but the word count got all the way to 4500 words, so I decided to split it into two. I'll be posting the next chapter within the next hour!
