𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐰𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐲 𝐬𝐢𝐱 ᅳ 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐲

"You think she's gonna like it?", Tig glanced at Ima as he was waiting for her opinion on the decorated table that, Gemma, him, Dawn and Ima, had put a lot of work into.

A huge cake, with a candle with the number one sitting on top of it, that was covered in purple buttercream with pastel green flowers and at least fifty cupcakes and two smaller cakes were placed on the large table, probably about thirty chairs around it.

This was his granddaughter's first birthday and Tig wanted to celebrate this. Knowing that Sage went through a lot of shit before Fawn was sent to prison, he wanted to help her out a little and plan a beautiful party for Violet even though the girl won't rememberᅳ but Sage, Happy, he and everyone else would remember that day. They deserved some peace and happiness after everything.

It had taken months for Tig to recover from his youngest daughter admitting that she had killed his grandson. His ex wife still called once or twice a week, talking his ear off about how horrible it was for Fawn inside. Well, his daughter had made her own bed. Knowing how awful that sounded, Tig still felt bad sometimes for not supporting Fawnᅳ but he simply couldn't and didn't want to.

It always hurt losing a childᅳ but he had to stay away from her and he had to keep Sage away from Fawn, too. And once Fawn would be back outside, he knew what would happen to his youngest. One thing he had told Jax and Happy was that he couldn't be a part of that, that he couldn't be there when they'd take her life, no matter how disappointed and angry he was.

Once again he realized that he got lost in his own thoughts, a tired sigh slipping past his lips that didn't go unnoticed by Ima.

The blonde knew how much her Old Man struggled, how hard this was for him. Often enough he lay awake, unable to fall asleep and seeking for comfort, only showing her that vulnerable sideᅳ and she was there to give him the comfort he needed.

"She's one, she likes everything", Ima replied with a small chuckle to distract him, shaking her head at Tig's worries. "You could give her a piece of paper or a bunch of baby wipes and she'd love it."

"Yeah, you're not wrong there", Tig snickered, pulling his Old Lady in for a kiss. Sometimes he couldn't even express how grateful he was that Ima stepped into his life.

No one had thought they'd last long but Ima really put a lot of work in that relationship. Her job as porn star wasn't part of her life anymoreᅳ her new life. Out of all men, Tig, the crazy one, had been the one showing the blonde how great it could feel to be in love. Not wanting another man inside her ever again, Ima had decided half a year ago that porn wasn't what she wanted to do anymore, not even lesbian porn. But she did miss working with Lyla though.

"I know that I'm right", Ima stated matter of factly, letting out a soft laugh as she patted the leather over his chest before pointing to the gate. "They're here! I'll get Dawn and Gemma."

And with that, the blonde disappeared inside the clubhouse to get the two other woman, who were still in the kitchen preparing salads, snacks and so much other stuff that they could feed a half the neighborhood with.

While Ima was inside, Tig strolled over to his daughter, Happy, and his granddaughter, his arms already outstretched so Sage could place Violet in themᅳ which she did with a chuckle.

"I can see we're not interesting anymore", Sage joked as she snuggled into Happy's side now that Violet was in Tig's arms anyway. "Are we too late?"

"Meaning we can do whatever we want because everyone only has eyes for our daughter anyway", Happy croaked against her ear, a grin tugging at the corner of his mouth as he slid his hand down her back to cup one side of her ass in his palm.

Using the back of her hand, Sage playfully slapped Happy's abs, blushing. "They're not that distracted now."

"Hey, guys, I'm neither blind nor deaf." Tig scrunched up his face in disgust before letting out a laugh while he let Violet bounce on his hip. Something the one-year-old had been enjoying doing for a few weeks.

"Hey, if you keep jumping like that you'll end up puking on me", Tig cooed to his granddaughter as he tickled her stomach with his fingers, making the little one giggle. "Don't you look beautiful today, huh? Such a beautiful dress."

Tig literally melted as his granddaughter smiled at him, still bouncing on his hip in her green dress, a smile so cute and bright that it could end wars.

Then he turned towards Sage and Happy, who had just watched in amusement as Tig let their daughter wrap him around his finger. Tig just rolled his eyes, grinning as he noticed the stares.

"What? I just can't help itᅳ she's too cute", he justified with a shrug. "And no, you're not late. The others should be here soon too. By the way, you're still blonde. Are we staying blonde now?", Tig asked with curiosity in his tone.

"Don't know, I like the blonde. So I may keep it a little longer. How many are coming?" Sage asked with a lifted eyebrow as she followed her father to the decorated table, her eyes widening. "Holy shit, when did you all do all that?!"

In order to be able to explore everything in detail, she left Happy's side, but let her hand slip into his and gently dragged him with her to the table. Her heart swelled in her chest as she saw the lovingly decorated cake, all the baked goods and how much work had gone into everything.

And all of this had to have happened today, because all of this wasn't here yesterday when they had stopped by.

"Man, did you do all that today?", Happy asked, shooting Tig a grateful glance.

The SAA was never interested in such parties. For him, parties consisted of excessive drinking and sitting togetherᅳ until he became a father himself. Don't get that wrong, he still loved the SAMCRO parties, even more so now that he had Sage by his sideᅳ it was a fun sight to see his wife completely drunk.

But now that they had Violet, Happy had actually thought about a birthday party for herᅳ after all, his baby girl would only turn one once. But then Tig said he wanted to take care of it and they let him.

And neither Happy nor Sage were disappointed, on the contrary. Whoever organized everything here did a freakin' amazing job.

"Yeah, we did", Tig declared, a proud grin plastered on his face. "Gemma and Ima took care of the cupcakes and cakes, all homemade except for the big cakeᅳ I organized that one with Dawn."

"Wait." Lifting a hand, Sage let out an incredulous laugh. She couldn't be more amused and thrilled at the same time. "Ima baked? Really?"

"Believe it or not, she even decorated the cupcakes", Tig said with a grin, looking at Violet as she let out a squeal and then shoved half her tiny hand in her mouth after Tig wiped some drool from the corner of her mouth. "Me too, sweetheart, I could drool at the sight of all that cake too."

"Oh please, I bet you already stole one of the cupcakes anyway", the former redhead teased her father before doing exactly the same thing, stealing a muffin with pastel green icing. "They look really good. Where is Ima? I wanna thank her."

While she was removing the paper from the cupcake, she leaned back against her husband. Happy had his arm loosely draped over her shoulder and broke off a piece of the cupcake to hold it out to Violet, who was curiously watching what her mom was doing.

"You can't just eat in front of her without giving her something", the Killer chuckled light-heartedly as he watched the little redhead literally inhale the small piece of the cupcake. "Either she doesn't sleep at all tonight or she sleeps extra good with all the sugar", he added with a grin.

"Oh, my granddaughter can handle a little sugar." Tig waved his hand with a dismissive gesture before looking at Violet again. "Right sweetheart, you're just like your grandpa?"

"Wow, she really has you wrapped around her finger, huh?" Sage shook her head in amusement as she popped a piece of cupcake into her mouth and gave Happy a piece, too. "So I know who to call if she doesn't want to sleep tonight."

"Oh, I'm here, you can call me anytime", Tig said casually while he was busy stopping Violet from reaching for one of the cupcakes. "She's already addicted, great."

"Yeah, really great. We are the ones that have to get her away from that later", Happy huffed and ran a hand over Violet's head before he pulled Sage with him and sat down, keeping his wife close to him.

"Is there anything else we need to know? Ima can cook now too?", Happy asked the other SAA with a grin as he grabbed a beer from the large tub that was filled with ice cubes to keep the beers cold.

"Hey, careful",  Tig warned, chuckling. "But no, we'd rather stick to ordering food. It's safer for everyone."

Sage snorted a laugh. "Better not to let her hear that. Besides, you could also cookᅳ although that probably isn't any better."

"You're being pretty cheeky today", Tig snickered as he also sat down and placed Violet on his lap.

"She's right, brother", Happy chimed in with a grin. "Maybe we should get you a voucher for a cooking class. When's your birthday again?"

Tig sent a glare to his son-in-law. "Don't you dare, brother. You should respect your father-in-law a little more."

Sage wrinkled her nose, laughing. "It still sounds weird when you call him your son-in-law...even if it is true."

"That's true", Happy added with a grumble, but Tig wasn't really that much older than him and even though he married Tig's daughter, it still felt weird seeing him as a father-in-law. They were brothers for decades and best friends since yearsᅳ Happy just couldn't see him as his father-in-law.

"You should be grateful that I'm such a great father-in-law", Tig justified with a grin. The man with the black curls laughed as Violet got startled by the loud roar of all the bikes entering the lot, but she quickly started to babble again.

"I guess the party can start", Tig announced in a good mood.

While the lot was slowly filling up with all the Samcro members, the women finally came out of the kitchen and placed a few more things on the table. One thing was sureᅳ no one would have to starve in the next few days.

Dawn plopped down next to Sage when she finally found her in the small office next to the workshop, her arm immediately swinging around her sister's shoulders with a big grin on her lips.

"Hey, what are you doing in here all alone?", the dark-haired woman asked curiously, sipping her beer before holding it out to Sage. "You haven't had a drink all day, you might as well have fun!"

"Hey, I'm having fun", Sage stated with a grin, taking the beer from Dawn. As she brought the bottle to her lips, however, the blonde grimaced and decided against taking a sip as the smell of the beer brought bile to the back of her throat.

Clearing her throat, Sage placed the bottle between her thighs so she didn't  have to hold it and leaned against Dawn. "Can you believe Violet is already a year old? Time has flown by so quickly."

Dawn's grin turned into a small smile. She rubbed Sage's arm comfortingly when she heard something wistful, almost sad, in her sister's voice.

"So that's why you're sitting here alone", the eldest Trager sister figured, humming. "Why are you so sad about it?"

"I'm not sad", Sage replied quickly, cocking her head to the side to look at Dawn. But the sigh that slipped past her lips said otherwise. "Okay, maybe a little bit. You know, sometimes I wish I could just stop time, keep her like this forever. She was just a baby and nowᅳnow she can walk and babble a few words andᅳ"

"Okay, take a breath, girl", Dawn interrupted with a soft chuckle as she crossed one leg over the other. "I've heard that mothers go crazy on the first birthday of their first and last childᅳ apparently that's true."

"Hey, I'm not doing that at all." Feeling attacked, Sage's bottom lip pushed out in a pout. "I'm just.."

"Emotional? I know, nothing new", Dawn joked to lighten the mood, and for a brief moment she even made Sage laugh. "Look at it this way, now are the years when Violet will learn so much. That's just as nice, isn't it?"

Sage opened her mouth, ready to speak, but she was silent for another moment before a smile formed on her lips. The blonde quickly wiped away a tear from the corner of her eye and then nodded.

"Yes, of course that's nice", she answered firmly, running the tip of her index finger over the rim of the bottle. "And I can't wait to see Violet starting to talk and play with stuff and all that. God, I'm so curious to find out how her voice is gonna sound. My hormones are just going crazy right now."

"What do you mean 'right now'?" A sense of foreboding crept into Dawn's mind as she studied her sister closely. "Sage, is it possible that you're pregnant again? That's exactly how you felt when you were pregnant with Violet."

Sage shot up, completely forgetting about the bottle between her legs, which fell to the floor. With a groan, Sage ran her fingers through her hair, letting her hands linger there for a moment.

"Shit", she muttered as she looked at the shards scattered all around her feet, a dark stain on the concrete floor from the remaining beer. Nothing bad had happened, but tears welled up in her eyes immediately. "Why does this keep happening to me? I'm always so fucking clumsy!"

"Oh my god." Dawn couldn't help but roll her eyes and let out a laugh when Sage suddenly started crying over a broken beer bottle. "Take a pregnancy testᅳ I bet it's positive."

"God, that can't be true", Sage crouched  down with a sniffle as Dawn slid off the couch onto the floor and started picking up the broken glass. "Violet is only a year old, we only opened our store two months agoᅳ the timing is really bad."

"Yeah, that could be true", Dawn hummed. In contrast to her sister, she didn't see it as catastrophic. "But would it make that much difference? I mean, you have Dad and Ima here to support you at all times. Gemma too. And who knows, maybe I'll consider moving here."

Sage's eyes widened, blinking away the remaining tears. "Are you kidding me or are you really thinking about this?!"

Dawn shook her head with a chuckle. "No, I'm actually thinking about it. Seattle without you is just boringᅳ and I'm always alone. Plus, I don't see all of you enough and my job is annoying anyway."

"Shit Dawn, that would be great!" The tears long forgotten, Sage threw her arms around Dawn's neck with a squeal, her arms wrapped tightly around the brunette as she almost tackled her sister to the ground. "You have to move here!"

"Jesus Sage." Dawn let out a strangled laugh as she was barely able to breath. “Be careful, I don't  want you to hurt yourself with the glass."

"Mhm yeah", Sage mumbled before she slowly pulled away from Dawn and slid across the floor, careful not to rub any splinters into her skin. "Have you decided yet? Or are you just thinking about it?"

"Well, I haven't decided anything officially yet, but if I'm honest I've already made the decisions for myself", the older Trager sister declared with a broad smile, wiggling eyebrows. "So, will you get a pregnancy test tomorrow so I can find out if I'm going to be an aunt again?"

"I still can't believe it. But that would be just perfect." Still speechless and a little off track, Sage sank down on her heels, her hands folded in her lap. "Do you really think I'm pregnant? Maybe it's just my emotions over Violet's first birthday."

"It could be an emotional phaseᅳ but I know that you usually have a better control over your emotions. Five minutes ago you wanted to cry, right now there was nothing left of the sadness", the brunette reasoned as she pulled the trash can closer to throw the broken pieces in it. "Would you be happy about it? If you were actually pregnant I mean."

Sage didn't have to think long about an answer. A large family had always been her dream. "Of course I would be happy, you know I've always wanted to have two or three kids. But it would definitely be stressful."

"I know. If anyone deserves happiness, it's you", said the eldest Trager with a sincere smile, happy that her little sister had finally gotten what she had always longed for. "You think Happy would be happy too?"

"I love you, you know that?" Tears stung in Sage's eyes again, this time because she was so touched by her sister's words. "And yes, I think Happy would be happy, too. We've talked about having another kidᅳ just not now."

"And I love you", Dawn smiled back, but cleared her throat as she felt herself getting too emotionalᅳ something that wasn't usually so quick to happen. "Okay, now let's  stop with the emotional stuff", she added with a nervous laugh as she rubbed her hands against her jeans.

"Is there ever a right time to have a baby? I don't think so. And like I said, you have enough supportᅳ plus your store is doing great and brings in a lot of money. That's the best foundation for a big family", Dawn stated with a shrug.

"You're right about that", Sage agreed with a satisfied hum. "Actually, the timing isn't that bad now that I think about it."

The tattoo studio was going so well that Happy's calendar was already fully booked for the next few months and Sage had also gained a few customers who regularly commissioned portraitsᅳ but both of them still scheduled their appointments so that there was still enough time for Violet. On quieter days they took the little one with them anyway and every time the customers could hardly leave the studio when Violet showed off her charm.

"See, you just need to believe me more often", the brunette winked teasingly, squeezing Sage's hand. "The first thing we'll do tomorrow morning is buy a pregnancy test. I'll pick you up as soon as Happy gets to the studioᅳ let's see if you can give him some good news then."

"Shit, I haven't been this excited in almost a year", Sage chuckled nervously, eliciting a laugh from Dawn, before the two women cleared the mess on the floor and rejoined the party.
