"Everyone's ready," I asked looking over my shoulder as all of them nodded. I exhaled and created a portal as Jace and Izzy held Clary's hand and walked into the portal I extended my hand to Alec 

"nothing to worry about" I nodded as he held my hand and I pulled him in with me as we came in front of Magnus's house.

Jace, Izzy, and Clary were downstairs as Alec and I walked in to help Magnus fight the others left.

As we got in I saw Magnus fighting a circle member while I killed the other one with my powers before he could attack him, Alec shot the one in front of him after which Magnus finished him off and saw me as I killed the one in front of me with ease.

I turned around and saw him introducing himself to Alec as he saw me and I rushed to him and hugged him "Glad you're okay, I got to know from the ones left behind at the rave to know that they were headed here" releasing from the hug I said as he smiled

"You're getting good at handling your magic," he said as I smiled

"A little I would say, but there's still much for me to learn," I said as he patted me

"Where are the others?" Alec asked as Jace, Izzy, and Clary rushed in with a little girl whom Magnus sent away.

As Magnus handed over the necklace back to Izzy for saving his life as a gift in return. And looked at me and called me

"Hold on everyone," he said and asked me to assist as we both changed the location of the lair taking a few minutes the people around us vanished away and the floor started trembling making everyone lose a little balance and fall.

As I exhaled and did the final touch with my magic and turned I saw everyone sitting on the floor in front of me and Magnus as they got up

"Sorry, I tried to give a heads up but even I didn't know it would be this strong" I snickered as they all dusted their clothes Magnus took Clary to a room and told her what to do while we all waited for some time.

I sat on the corner sofa in the room watching over the view of the city as Alec came and sat in front of me, I gave a little glance his way

"Veronica I'm-"

"I'm sorry, it's because of me that now you're not getting to do what you love and even myself. Before I came along you guys had a routine but now because of me you're lives are all messed up and in danger. I'm sorry" I got up to walk away as he grabbed my wrist pulling me back

"You don't need to apologize, I was mad because of Clary not because of you. You're different, Just know that I will never blame you for anything and I guess different is good too" he looked me in the eyes as we smiled under the glowing city lights behind us as I locked my gaze with his and felt this feeling grow as he had held my hand

"Sorry to cut your, little moment short but, It's time," Magnus said clearing his throat as I look at him slipping away from Alec's grip as we both walk back blushing

"Well, it looks like we both have something in common" he whispered

"What?"

"Our liking for You" he whispered and smiled playfully

"It seems like that even though I would love to have you for myself, I have seen how he looks at you," he whispers

"You like me? Since when," I asked as he gave me a side-eye view

"Since I met you, You're amazing and strong woman Veronica, there would only be a fool who would not fall for you" He whispers in my ear as I shiver at this sudden confession and attention of his

"I don't know about that Magnus but I've come across fools in love a lot lately?" I turn to him and whisper as he nods

"You are interested in him aren't you?" He says as I look at Alec

"Maybe" I saw the Pentagram Clary drew and how beautiful it looked and walked away from Magnus

As there were not more than 4 places I stood in the corner ready with magic in case Magnus needs something which he told me as the demon's quite powerful.

"The demon will take a memory of someone who you love the most as a payment in return for Clary's memories. A soulmate connection" he instructed as the demon appeared in between the pentagram

The pictures started coming up one by one starting with Clary a picture of her mother. Then came Isabelle's turn a picture of Alec came through as I smiled "Sibling love of course" I thought as it was Alec's turn now.

It first showed Jace's picture for a moment but then it moved on flashing a memory instead of a picture. It was of me and Alec talking by the staircase of last night looking deep in conversation as I stood there watching it with shock myself that he felt something for me as he shouted "No this is not true, the demon deceived me it's not true" He shouted

"Alec it's okay, it's just a demon. Don't think about it and don't break the bond. Please" I shouted from across the room as he let go of the bond even though Magnus and Jace tried to make him stop and it made the demon grow stronger.

It let loose as all of them got thrown away, Magnus wasn't able to handle him all by himself, so I rushed by his side to control this demon Valek and have him stop but as we tried he got stronger and grabbed onto Jace, and continued pulled him away as Isabelle shouted and both she and Alec started pulling Jace back seeing no choice left I grabbed onto my seraph blade and went ahead to end the demon.

"If you do this then Clary's memories will be lost forever" Magnus shouted

"I'm sorry Clary, but I'll have to do this, Jace's life is important" I looked at Clary as she nodded and I rushed forward, spun around, and killed the demon making Jace and me both fall on the ground.

"Jace, oh my god" Clary rushed to his side and he lay down

"Is he gonna be okay?" She asked as Isabelle and she watched over him

"I don't know does he normally lay down like that" Magnus made a sarcastic comment earning a glare from Clary

"Magnus not now," I said as I groaned in pain clutching my stomach as I got up from the pain of being thrown so fast by that demon as he looked rushed over to my side.

"you okay?" Alec came over and asked as I nodded "Just a little hurt" I said as Magnus helped me get up and took me to the living room and helped me settle on the sofa

"thank you" I nodded as Alec went out and Magnus closed the door after him and walked to me seeing the little tear on my dress just near my wound area

"Are you okay, you didn't get any hurt there?" He asked examining it

"No Magnus it's okay, it's just the sudden push from that demon, he was indeed the most powerful I have ever seen till now I might add," I said as he nodded and snapped his fingers and that portion of my dress got back like usual

"Thanks, Magnus, no one would ever know that there was even a tear there " I chuckle as he smiles and got up as Jace walked in with Izzy and Alec by his side

"Hey," he said as I got up and hugged him

"Glad you're okay I got scared there for a minute" Releasing the hug I said

"I should thank you for that, you're the one who saved me," he said as I smiled

"You don't need to, I did what I had to you're my friend," I said resting my hand on his shoulder

I walked out of the room and all of us headed back to the institute as we reached there I stopped Clary before going ahead

"Clary, I'm sorry because of me you lost all your memories. I promised to help you but you lost them because of me. I know you wanted them more than anything, I'm sorry" I apologized to her as she hugged me

"You did nothing wrong, I know I lost all my memories but I was also about to do what you did tonight. I'm just glad Jace is okay right now. So you don't need to apologize to me, it's okay" she said hugging me back as I sighed and she went to her room.

I walked back to my room and I saw Alec watching me as we shared a few glances I went to my room and changed into something comfortable

I walked to the kitchen to get some hot chocolate if they have some here in the shadow world after a hectic day like this I was in dire need of one. Walking into the kitchen I saw Lydia and Alec talking and I stopped in my tracks seeing them together.

I saw them and quietly walked back before they would notice me as I heard Lydia "Veronica come in and join us, We were just talking about you. Why were you going back?" She asked me to join them

"You were?" I asked looking at her and then at Alec and walking over "I came looking for Isabelle I thought she might be here. But then I saw you both and I didn't want to interrupt anything" I said making my statement

"It's okay you're not interrupting besides Alec was just telling me about how perfectly you handled yourself in mission today" Lydia stated as my eyes moved from her to Alec but he didn't return the gaze much so I just smiled

"Thank you Lydia I appreciate your compliments" I smiled as she did too

"I didn't know you would know how to fight so well" She eyed me smiling which I very well knew why. She was underestimating me and I hated it when people did that

"Well, thank you, it's a part of my job. Besides, I'll take my leave now" I smiled pleasantly which she understood and I gave my order and waited for it at a distance from these two

"Alec also likes hot chocolate or chocolate in general. I got to know that recently" she says looking at me and then at Alec as he gives a weak smile and nods looking at me

"That's good you're getting to know each other. and chocolate is such a rich flavor I'm sure it's everyone's favorite Lydia. Good night you two." I said cheering my cup to them as Lydia gave me a wicked smile and Alec nodded blinking his eyes as I walked out of the kitchen and scoffed at Lydia's behavior

"Was it right what Magnus said to me that I have started to feel something for Alec even if it's more than I should maybe?" I thought to myself as I walked back to my room closed my door and sat on the chair and kept the cup on the table and picked up my book.

As I was about to take a sip of my hot chocolate I heard a knock on my door "Coming" I kept the cup down and walked over to open the door to see Alec standing there in his black t-shirt and pants

"Alec? At this time of the night? Everything okay?" I asked looking over at him trying to figure out

"I-I wanted to give you this actually " he extended his hand forward and I saw he was holding a small box and something with a letter. I looked at it and then back at him

"It's from Max, he went back to Idris today and asked me to this give to you, " he said as he had a small box in his hands and looked at me from up to down, taking in the look in front of him. I smiled and took the box from him

"Say thank you to Max from my side, for this gift." looking at the things I looked back at him and he stared at me as I smiled

"Can I ask a question if you don't mind?" He says as I nod

"You don't have a favorite weapon when it comes to fighting and doesn't mind learning other weapons right?" He asks as I remember why he might be asking that

"Uh, yeah why is there a problem regarding this Alec?" I question back

"No, I just knew someone who used to say that quite a lot at times. You said it reminded me of her" he says as I remember my vision and how we are connected but him not being able to recognize me was something bugging me

"It's okay Alec I understand, it's getting late I suppose we should get back to sleep," I say as he nods and leaves

He went away after our small talk as I kept the gift inside my bedside drawer and finish my hot chocolate and go to sleep.
