3rd Person's POV

Sam Wilson jogs around Washington, D.C. when a tall figure quickly catches up to him.

"On your left."

Sam moves over and watches the figure run past him. He continues to jog and is surprised when for the second time the person runs up behind him quickly after doing another lap.

"On your left."

Sam rolls his eyes and smiles, "Uh-huh, on my left. Got it."

Sam is still jogging when yet again the person comes around again from behind him from a third lap.

"Don't say it! Don't you say it!"

"On your left!"

"Come on!" Sam gets angry as the person passes and tries to catch up to him but only after a few seconds he's unable to carry and stops to rest.

As Sam is resting catching his breath sitting by a tree the person who was jogging circles around him walks over.

"Need a medic?"

Sam laughs as he looks up at THE Captain America.

"I need a new set of lungs. Dude, you just ran like 13 miles in 30 minutes."

Steve shrugs, "I guess I got a late start."

Sam scoffs, "Oh, really? You should be ashamed of yourself. You should take another lap."

He hesitates for a moment before saying sarcastically, "Did you just take it? I assumed you just took it."

Steve smiles, "What unit you with?"

"58, Pararescue. But now I'm working down at the VA. Sam Wilson."

Steve gives Sam a hand to rise, "Steve Rogers."

"I kind of put that together. Must have freaked you out coming home after the whole defrosting thing."

Steve nods, "It takes some getting used to. It's good to meet you, Sam."

As Steve turns to leave, Sam says something else, "It's your bed, right?"

"What's that?"

"Your bed, it's too soft. When I was over there I'd sleep on the ground and use rock for pillows, like a caveman. Now I'm home, lying in my bed, and it's like..."

"Lying on a marshmallow. Feel like I'm gonna sink right to the floor."

Sam smiles and nods his head.

"How long?"

"Two tours. You must miss the good old days, huh?"

"Well, things aren't so bad. Food's a lot better, we used to boil everything. No polio is good. Internet, so helpful. I've been reading that a lot trying to catch up."

"Marvin Gaye, 1972, 'Trouble Man' soundtrack. Everything you've missed jammed into one album."

"I'll put it on the list."

Steve gets his small notebook and pen out and notes it down on his list which also includes I Love Lucy (Television); Moon Landing; Berlin Wall (Up + Down); Steve Jobs (Apple); Disco; Thai Food; Star Wars/Trek (with Star Wars crossed out, indicating that he has seen it); Nirvana (Band); Rocky (Rocky II?)

Just as he puts away his notebook, Steve gets a text message: "Mission alert. Extraction imminent. Meet at the curb. :)"

"Alright, Sam, duty calls. Thanks for the run. If that's what you wanna call running."

They shake hands as Sam laughs, "Oh, that's how it is?"

"Oh, that's how it is."

"Okay. Any time you wanna stop by the VA, make me look awesome in front of the girl at the front desk, just let me know."

"I'll keep it in mind."

Just then Natasha pulls up in her car by the curb and rolls down the window, "Hey, fellas. Either one of you know where the Smithsonian is? I'm here to pick up a fossil."

Steve frowns, "That's hilarious."

He walks over to her car and gets in, Sam gives Natasha and her car an appreciative look.

"How you doing?"

Natasha smiles slightly, "Hey."

Sam looks over at Steve in a suggestive way as if saying oh now you use a car.

Steve smiles, "Can't run everywhere."

"No, you can't."

He watches as Natasha quickly pulls away and drives off. As soon as he turns around to leave he gets a phone call. Looking at the caller id he frowns.

"Hey what's wrong?"

"Meet me at the museum."

Sam walks into the Smithsonian museum glancing everywhere to find the person who had called him earlier. He walks through the halls into the Captain America room then he slowly finds his way to Erksine's display. The wall contained many pictures of Erksine and all his scientists coworkers. Many of the pictures included Sammie Dylann Todd. Sam walks down the display case until he sees a whole section about Sammie Todd.

'Daughter of Helen and Patrick Dylann Todd, Sammie Dylann Todd was the first ever 16 year old, female even, to attend college early. She became the President of many different organizations and went on to being an intern with Erksine. She helped to create the very well known super soldier serum for Project Rebirth which was used on Steve Rogers making him become the super soldier everyone knows as Captain America. Not only did she work close to Steve Rogers in the lab, the two were close when not working. Howard Stark himself told everyone about how amazing the two were together, how much they loved each other, and how perfect they were for one another.'

'Sammie had already been head over heels for Steve before Project Rebirth. She always talked about how sweet and caring he was. How determined he was and how she was so excited to just be near him. Seeing the two of them together was like nothing anyone had ever seen before.' Peggy says on a video screen.

Sam stares at the picture of Sammie and Steve before and after Project Rebirth. He could feel the love just from looking at the picture. A throat clears behind him making him jump and turn around quickly.
