THE FIRST MEMORY SHE HAS IS RUNNING FOR HER LIFE. it quickly becomes her last. then she wakes up in a moving box, a gaping and bleeding wound in her thigh, hurtling towards a maze full of boys her age, only positive of two facts: her name is iris, and she has to adjust to life in a prison surrounded by a maze, possibly being punished for a crime. did she do something wrong in the real word? what even was the real world?

AND WHAT DID IRIS DO TO POSSIBLY DESERVE TO LIVE LIKE THIS? watching her friends - her family, her brothers, die one after another, their names scratched out on the stone wall? she's forced to keep living even without them and only the painful, new memories with the feeling she has ones worse stored somewhere in the back of her mind.

IRIS REALIZES SOON SHE MAY NOT LIKE THE ANSWERS. because she can be just as guilty and to blame as much as their hosts, wicked, who sends a new boy every month along with a batch of supplies. after some time, too long actually, iris is still the only girl. however, it's possible everything she wanted to know and be can come in the form of the new greenie and maybe she learns there's a life before the maze that is indeed worse compared to her new one.
