aspen is very young and very foolish. she's furiously reckless, and constantly buts heads with her father, who can't seem to keep her on a leash. she's wickedly smart and almost effervescent in any social situation. aspen deeply enjoys anything taboo and always chases that high that accompanies disobedience and danger. she's not fit for the pampered, primping life of a high lord's daughter, though she can't help enjoying the luxury of it.

aspen was always a bit of a wild child. as a baby, she was a destructive little beast, biting and chasing and breaking anything in her path.
as she grew older, he rodents attempted to suppress those tendencies, putting her through bland lessons and teaching her about the responsibility of being a high lord's daughter.
but, being the youngest of five, aspen never felt the sort of pressures her older sisters may have experienced. she wasn't going to be high lady, after all. there was nothing at all to worry about and a world of fun to discover.
so she embraced her wildness, and as a result, she is often the object of dirt gossip and court intrigue. aspen ignores it all. so what if she lost her maidenhead to an older woman from summer? so what if she gave her jewels to destitute lesser fae like they were coins? so what if she rarely graces her father's events with her presence and runs off as often as she can?
aspen does what she likes.

aspen is well-trained in the art of court relations. her father would expect nothing less; so she can dance and sing and do all sorts of quaint ladylike things. does she do them? not so much; she dances, but her dancing is wild and strange and free. she sings, but her singing involves belting and bellowing at the sky while riding at breakneck pace deep in autumn's woods.
she is rather talented at wooing others—and not only in a romantic sense. she compels people to trust her. they find her magnetic. she uses this trait to her advantage.
aspen deeply loves riding. every day, she goes into the woods, and spurs her mount to race faster than the wind, staring up at the canopy above. it makes her feel like she's flying through a sky of red and gold.

she loves the tiny little throwing knives she hides all over her person. two little flicks of her hand and her enemies bleed out in seconds. aspen is brutally efficient with the small blades; less so as they get larger. she enjoys throwing more than she does stabbing and parrying, and tends to avoid daggers and swords at all costs. instead, aspen uses a bow and arrow when the need arises.

aspen is rather masterful with winnowing for her age; it was something that always came naturally to her. when it comes to fire, however, she has quite a bit of power but lacks skill and finesse. use of her flames is generally brute and destructive, so she is mildly frightened by exercising those powers, and doesn't tend to do so often.
