i have a rant prepared for you, and i may or may not risk losing followers. which is literally the point of this rant. 

so, i was following an account with 1.2K followers, which is around the same amount of followers i currently have on my main. i won't call out who they are, but i saw that some of y'all followed them. anyways, they posted an announcement this morning that kind of hit a nerve with me. they said something along the lines of losing followers. 

now, before you get the wrong idea, it's absolutely okay to be upset about losing followers. it happens to everyone. we all have hurt over it at some point. i'm probably coming off as hypocritical right now... when i was at 900 followers, losing followers was killing me. i just wanted to make it to 1K. i was more focused on how many followers i was losing rather than focusing on how many i was gaining, and before i knew it, i was at 1K. 

but now look at me. i have 1.2K followers. that's a lot. to me, at least. and i'm grateful for every single one of them. 

ever since i hit 1K, i have never complained about losing followers. i've learned that the followers i have now are what are important, and that i shouldn't worry about such trivial things. have i noticed when i lose a follower ? absolutely. but it doesn't bug me anymore. 

i've made so many friends in just a few months. it blows my mind. i feel so loved by everyone.

so no. i don't think that person should have been worried about losing a few followers. the people that unfollowed them were probably spam accounts to begin with. 

this person even told us that they were going to delete their account. i don't understand how someone can do that. i wouldn't even be able to bring myself to delete this account, which only has 50 something followers. how could they even think about deleting an account with 1.2K followers ? 

although the person has a right to be upset, i don't think that they should've been. i left a message on their board that said something along the lines of, "please don't delete your account. you have just as many followers as i do, and i can promise you that all of the followers you have now love you. we don't want you to delete your account. please take this into consideration." by the time i looked again, they had deleted my message along with everybody else's and announced once again that they'll be deleting the account. 

knowing that i wouldn't be able to get to them, i simply unfollowed them and watched as other people unfollowed (they went down from 1,249 to 1,241 in five minutes. it was bad). 

maybe i'm being petty. hopefully i won't anger any of you about this, haha. let me know what you think.
