Bakugou held his arm out to the sky and cried silently looking at the stars between his fingers. Distant and dangerous heavenly bodies of flames reminded him how lonely he actually was. Surrounded by cheerful friends and future heroes his heart ached for something he was sure he could never have. All the pain he has been hiding for years could no longer be contained, Katsuki has reached his limit. he took a few shaky breaths and got up, he couldn't keep up with his thoughts, he walked around opening and closing his fists, he was shaking as a lifetime of longing for touch, love and acceptance started building up inside of him, he needed to release it all so he screamed, he screamed at the top of his lungs until he felt a pain in his throat but he didn't stop, he kept shouting until the wind cleaned his face completely of the evidence of his unnoticed tears and he stared into space emptied of any emotions. his body felt numb and his head was buzzing as if someone connected it to electricity.
Shoto came out to the rooftop freeing himself from Midoriya's grip. He walked up to the blonde and silently stood beside him also looking into nothingness. noticing a figure approaching him, Katsuki put on his usual hostile face and growled in irritation "what the fuck do you want?" he was sure Todoroki had heard him and he wasn't quite sure what to do about it, he was panicking. he would never let himself be this vulnerable if he knew someone was around.
in response white and red haired teenager who was doing seemingly fine on the outside, took a big breath and screamed into the night. In that act of solidarity and understanding he let out his own tangled emotions and thoughts that have been roaming his mind.
Bakugou stared at his classmate pierced by the sorrow and passion that were so similar to his own. he felt his eyes watering yet instead of letting any of the tears escape he smiled lightly once again joining in on the cacophony of pain. Feeling a presence of another broken soul soon turned their exhausted screams into a relieved laughter. Both smiling as wide as they could, enjoying a few seconds of freedom from the problems they were never taught how to resolve.
When the soothing silence finally filled the air and their disturbed minds got once again littered with doubts they smiled at the stars grateful for these few moments of peace they got to enjoy together.
