It's only been over a month since Netflix announced that they were making a live action How To Train Your Dragon Series based off the animated films.

The script is set to be written by the book author herself Cressida Cowell and is set to be co-directed by Jordan Peele and Chloe Zhao and produced by the Russo Brothers and the said writer.

Now many of you may be guessing or wondering who will be playing the main character and hero Hiccup, but for this show the directors have decided to do something different for the show.

Keabetswe Mokwena is set to not play Astrid ( who she originally auditioned for ) but is set to play Hildegard. Now you may be wondering who on earth Hildegard may be?

Hildegard is actually Hiccup. Hildegard is the girl version of Hiccup. Although the show was originally going to have a male lead, but with some changes the directors and producers decided to make the show have a female lead instead of a male lead.

Keabetswe Mokwena ( Cobra Kai and Jamila Stevens ) has been casted as the heroine of this story Hildegard Haddock, Idris Elba ( Concrete Cowboy and The Suicide Squad )  has been casted as the fierce Viking chief Stoick The Vast, Candace Patton ( The Flash ) has been casted as the supposedly dead wife and mother Valka.

Jessie Mei Li ( Shadow and Bone ) has been casted as the stubborn and fierce Astrid, Jake Austin Walker ( Stargirl )and Abigail Cowen ( The Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina ) have been casted as the wild twins Tuffnut and  Ruffnut.

Joshua Bassett ( High School Musical: The Musical: The Series ) has been casted as arrogant and confident Snotloud, Joel Kinnaman ( Altered Carbon and The Suicide Squad ) has been casted as well known Blacksmith Gobber, Julien Dennison ( Deadpool 2 and Godzilla vs Kong ) has been casted as the living dragon encyclopaedia Fishlegs

Marsai Martin ( black-ish and Little ) and Louis Partridge ( Enola Holmes ) have been casted as new original characters Freja Haddock, the niece of Stoick and younger cousin of Hildegard and Darin Tougard, the childhood friend of both Hildegard and Freja.

The series is set to start filming in Ireland, in early July. At the moment no details on the upcoming show have been revealed but we'll be sure to update you as soon as we get more details
