chapter seventeen || 🎬🤍🦢

    Being awoken up to loud banging on your front door was not something Amelie had anticipated for the day. She knew it wasn't Riley or Rue because they had keys and they would be in the airport until 1pm and it was currently 11am.

    At first Amelie didn't hear it, it was until Carmen came into her room and climbed into her bed, complaining about the loud noise that she realised it was in fact her front door. Not a neighbours.

    The girl moved towards the front door like a zombie. She almost tripped several times as she tried to put a pair of fluffy socks on.

    When she got to the door, she didn't even check the peep hole, instead she threw the door open, revealing two very familiar faces.

    "Amelie!" Sam Golbachs overly excited voice rang through her ears as she felt a pair of arms throw themselves around her shoulder. The two stumbled backward as Amelie tried to catch her footing. She grabbed onto the back of his jacket for support so she wouldn't fall to the floor from the sudden impact.

    "Sam!" She croaked out as he pulled away and stared down at her.

    He grabbed the girls shoulders, "Were you not awake?" Amelie just blinked at him in surprise, "Fair enough." He mumbled, walking away from her and down the hall.

    Amelie stared down after him, extremely confused. She then turned to look at Colby who had a massive smile on his face.

    He slowly walked towards her and much more gentle than Sam had, hugged her.

    "What the fuck are you two doing here at this hour?" Amelie asked as she patted his back.

    Colby pulled away and started to walk towards where Sam had wandered off to, making Amelie groan, "We were around the corner and Sam basically dragged me here."

     Amelie shook her head in disbelief and rubbed the sleep from her eyes, "Well, make yourselves at home. I'm gonna go...die." She walked back towards her room where Carmen was sprawled across her bed, conked out.

    She grabbed a pillow and lobbed it at the girls head, making Carmen let out a yelp.

    Carmen sat up, sending a cold look towards her friend, "What is your problem?"

    "We have two visitors."

    "You didn't tell me we were expecting people over."

    Amelie shrugged, "I didn't know." She walked over to her bedside locker and grabbed a hoodie that had been thrown there in the middle of the night, "Sam barged his way in and basically tackled me to the floor - bro quiet literally did not, but that's not the point."

    Carmen groaned as she tumbled off the bed and went towards Amelie's wardrobe, "You're so lucky you're pretty, babe."

    "What does that have to do with anything?" She shouted, "Thank you, though."

    "You're such a cutie." Carmen scrunched up her nose as she poked Amelie's dimple as she walked by now dressed in one of Amelie's oversized knitted jumpers, Charlie - her dog - following behind her.

    When Riley and Rue came home from the airport, finding Amelie and Carmen sat upon the kitchen counter a tub of vanilla ice cream between them while two men only Rue had the pleasure of meeting were sitting on the chairs at the island while Charlie sat in Colbys lap, glaring at Sam

    They must not have heard the front door open because no one looked up until Riley dropped her duffle bag and stared at her two housemates.

    "Riley!" Amelie shrieked, jumping off the counter and sprinting towards her. Amelie flung her arms around the taller girls shoulders as her tippy toes dangled to reach the floor. Riley laughed rather loudly as Amelie mumbled, "I missed you so much."

    Riley pulled away before pressing a kiss to her friends cheek, "I missed you too."

     Before Amelie could say anything else, she was being shoved to the side by Carmen who was now bear hugging Riley so tight Amelie thought the poor girl was going to pass out.

    Carmen then pulled back and pushed the girls shoulder, hard, "If you leave me here with these bastards again I'm going to upend you." She said seriously before breaking out into a smile, "I love you."

    "I love you more."

    There was an awkward sound somewhere between a cough and a chocking sound which brought the four girls attention to the two behind them.

    Both Sam and Colby gave Riley a tight lipped smile while throwing their hands up in an awkward wave.

    Amelie rolled her eyes at them before pointing towards them, "Riley, this is Sam and Colby. Sam, Colby, this is Riley - the best of us." She smiled through the two punches on the arm she received by Rue and Carmen, "Point proven."

    "So, you two are the ones who traumatised Ames to the point we had all the house lights on for two weeks?"

    "She's kidding!" Amelie laughed before turning to glare at the girl who was now pushing herself up onto the counter where Amelie and Carmen were moments ago.

     "I'm so kidding."

samgolbach    ten seconds after that first photo was taken amelie tried to climb over my legs instead of walking around the coffee table and fell on her face.
