CHAPTER TWENTY THREE. WEASLEY TWIN CHAOS

✧・゚: *✧・゚:* *:・゚✧*:・゚✧

Evangeline hadn't spoken to Ron about the kiss that they had shared all those nights ago. In fact, she had barely seen the boy at all. The O.W.L. examinations had come quicker than Evangeline had expected and she had been busy studying like crazy, hardly even coming out of her room to eat.

She was currently in the Great Hall, taking her Theory Of Charms exam, which Umbridge was proctoring. Evangeline read over the next question, wracking her brain for the answer before writing it out when she remembered it.

Evangeline repeated this process, some answers coming easily to her and others not so much. She pursed her lips and looked up at the clock to see how much time was remaining. She nodded to herself before returning her attention back to the test. A booming noise from outside caused her to stop writing and lift her head up. She turned to face the door.

Another boom came from outside and by now, all eyes were on the door. Umbridge made her way down the steps and through the aisles, quickly trying to get to the door. Soft whispers could be heard throughout the classroom. Umbridge reached the doors and pulled them open. Evangeline could hear a sort of buzzing and zipping sound before a firework zoomed into the hall.

It shot up into the air and exploded, bursts of blue and orange filling the air before dissipating. It was quiet for only a moment before shouts could be heard from outside the hall and Fred and George Weasley zoomed in on broomsticks. They used magic to blast the O.W.L. tests into the air and shot more colorful fireworks into the air.

Evangeline stared up at the beautiful bursts of purples, reds, and oranges, a small smile coming to her face. The students stood, all beginning to enjoy the fireworks and laughing loudly. Hermione pulled Evangeline out of her seat, giggling like crazy. Evangeline rolled her eyes before sending the girl a small smile.

More and more fireworks were thrown throughout the room, filling it up with vibrant colors. Evangeline found herself laughing at it all, spinning around as she stared up at the ceiling, watching the fireworks continue to explode.

Fred and George met up in the middle of the room, throwing one last firework that burst multiple times before forming into a large dragon. The dragon roared before charging at Umbridge. The woman and pink went running for the door and Evangeline was laughing so hard that she couldn't breathe. Ron was watching the girl, laughing himself. He found her laugh to be very contagious. His mind went back to their kiss and his heart rate picked up. He wondered when the two of them would have a chance to talk.

The dragon's mouth opened and chomped down on Umbridge bursting into separate fireworks and exploding in the corridor outside of the Great Hall. The individual fireworks crashed into all of Umbridge's inquisitorial decrees, sending them smashing to the ground. Then Fred and George zoomed out of the hall and out of the school, neither one of them looking back once.

The students ran out of the Great Hall then, many of them cheering loudly. Evangeline found herself being pushed along with the crowd of students who were running out onto the courtyard. Evangeline looked up and the Weasley twins sent more fireworks into the sky. More colors lit up the air and Evangeline was grinning like a madwoman, clapping her hands at the boys.

The last part of the show was a large firework 'W' shining in the air. Evangeline came to stand next to Ron, nudging his side and raising her eyebrows. The boy chuckled briefly before giving her a look that she couldn't decipher. She looked away. "I think that we really need to talk," he shouted over the commotion. She looked over at him again, her heart beginning to race before nodding slowly. "Of course, yeah. We will. I promise," she replied nervously.

She turned back to look at the sky, watching as George and Fred grew smaller and smaller, not realizing that the Weasley boy was still looking at her.

When she turned around, she saw that Harry was on the ground and Hermione was quickly making her way over to him. Evangeline's smile fell and she too was rushing over to the boy. "Sirius," was all he said when she reached him.

••••

Evangeline, Harry, Ron, and Hermione were running up the winding stairs. The stairs were moving into place as they ran up the steps and Evangeline grasped onto the railing to ensure that she didn't fall. Harry had a vision that Sirius Black was being held by Voldemort in the Department of Mysteries. Evangeline didn't know Sirius Black personally, nor did she understand what was going on but she did know that the man and Harry had a close relationship from what the Potter boy had told her.

"Harry, are you sure?" Hermione asked the boy. "I saw it. It's just like with Mr. Weasley. It's the door I've been dreaming about. I couldn't remember where I'd seen it before. Sirius said Voldemort was after something.
Something he didn't have the last time, in the Department of Mysteries," Harry explained as he continued up the stairs.

Evangeline's grip on the railing tightened as the stairs continued to move. "Harry, please, just listen," Hermione said. Harry stopped moving and turned to face the girl. "What if Voldemort meant for you to see this? What if he's only hurting Sirius because he's trying to get to you?" Hermione continued. "What if he is? I'm supposed to just let him die? Hermione, he's the only family I've got left," Harry retorted.

Hermione looked at Evangeline and Ron. Evangeline shrugged, her eyes moving to Ron. "What do we do?" The redhead asked. Immediately, Harry turned around and began running up the stairs again. "We'll have to use the Floo Network," he answered. "But Umbridge has the chimneys under surveillance," Hermione said, running after the boy.

"Not all of them," Harry replied. The four continued running up the stairs until they reached the corridor. They continued running until they got to Umbridge's office. Harry went to open the door, but it didn't budge. "It's locked," he said. Evangeline rolled her eyes and pushed him out of the way. "Move," she muttered before taking out her wand. She pointed the wand at the door's lock.

"Alohomora," she said. The lock unlocked itself and she pushed the door open. Harry pushed past her and entered the office. Ron looked down at Evangeline, impressed. She furrowed her eyebrows, "What? It's a simple spell. You should know it by now." She entered the office and looked around, almost shuddering as she remembered the last time she was in there. Harry walked over to the chimney, the three following behind.

A green flame roared to life in the chimney and Harry crouched down. "Alert the Order if you can," he said. "The Order? What's the Order?" Evangeline asked almost instantly, looking between the three. "I'll explain later," Ron said before turning to Harry. "Are you mental? We're going with you," he said. "It's too dangerous," Harry retorted.

Hermione dropped down beside Harry. "When are you going to get it into your head? We're in this together," she said. "That you are," a voice said from behind them. The four quickly turned around to see Umbridge standing by the door, looking furious. Some of her inquisitorial squad filtered in after her. Harry was pushed into a chair as the Ron, Hermione, and Evangeline were apprehended.

Crabbe grabbed Evangeline by her upper arms and she tried to wriggle out of his grip. "Don't you touch her," Ron said, attempting to take a step forward but Goyle pulled him back. Evangeline shot Umbridge a dirty glare. More of the inquisitorial squad came in with Vivian, Cleo, Luna, and Ginny. "Caught this one trying to help the Weasley girl," Malfoy said as he entered the room, holding Neville.

Umbridge lowered herself so that she was at eye level with Harry. "You were going to Dumbledore, weren't you?" She asked him. "No." Umbridge slapped Harry harshly, "Liar." Evangeline tried to lunge at the woman, but Crabbe held her back with much difficulty. Professor Snape entered the office then. "You sent for me, headmistress?" He said. Umbridge stood up straight and looked at him.

"Snape, yes. The time has come for answers, whether he wants to give them to me or not. Have you brought the Veritaserum?" The woman said. "I'm afraid you've used up all
my stores interrogating students. The last of it on Miss Chang," the man replied. Evangeline sighed, she should've known that Cho wouldn't just rat them out. Her eyes briefly met Ron's before turning back to Professor Snape when he spoke.

"Unless you wish to poison him, and I assure you, I would have the greatest sympathy if you did, I cannot help you," he continued, briefly looking at Harry before looking back at the woman in pink. He turned to exit the room when Harry's voice stopped him. "H-he's got Padfoot. He's got Padfoot at the place where it's hidden," he said. He let the message sink in and Umbridge began spitting out questions.

"Padfoot? What is Padfoot? Where what is hidden? What is he talking about, Snape?" She asked quickly. Professor Snape turned back to look at Harry before his slightly wide eyes went to Umbridge. "No idea," he replied, his voice monotone. He then left the room. Umbridge was very angry now. "Very well. You give me no choice, Potter. As this is an issue of Ministry security... you leave me with... no alternative.
The Cruciatus Curse ought to loosen your tongue," she said.

"Are you insane?" Evangeline asked incredulously. "That's illegal," Hermione said. Ron fought against his captor, trying to get to his best friend. "What Cornelius doesn't know won't hurt him," the woman said, walking to her desk and putting a picture of the man faced down. Evangeline began fighting against Crabbe, his grip on her arms only tightening. She couldn't wait to get out of his hold so that she could kick his ass.

"You're psychotic! You're really about to torture a child. You need help!" Evangeline exclaimed. Umbridge whipped around to face her. "Unless you wish to join Mr. Potter in receiving the Cruciatus Curse, I suggest you shut your mouth," she said. "I'm not afraid of you, bitch!" She shouted. Umbridge raised her wand and pointed it at her and Evangeline eyed her, daring her to do it.

"Don't you dare," Ron said, attempting to lunge at the woman. Umbridge only rolled her eyes, turning back to Harry and pointing her wand at him. She walked closer to him and Evangeline's breathing picked up. "Tell her, Harry!" Hermione shouted. Umbridge turned her head to look at her. "Tell me what?" She asked. "Well, if you won't tell her where it is, I will," Hermione said.

Evangeline was looking at the girl as if she had lost her mind, wondering what the hell she was doing. "Where what is?" Umbridge questioned. "Dumbledore's secret weapon," Hermione answered. Umbridge looked as though she had just been told that she had won a prize. "Tell me where this weapon is," Umbridge said, beckoning Hermione forward. Her captor let go of her and Umbridge pointed her wand at her.

She hoisted Harry out of the chair and pushed him and Hermione in front of her. "Go," she commanded. The two led the woman out of the room.

Malfoy turned to Vivian with a sneer. "You're a disgrace, I hope you know that," he said. Vivian rolled her eyes at him, sending him a glare. "And you're a little bitch, I hope you know that," she replied. Malfoy's face turned red in a mixture of anger and embarrassment. "You're gonna regret that, Caspian," he sneered. "No, I don't think I will," she retorted. Ron tapped Evangeline's foot with his own, discreetly tilting his head in the direction of Ginny, who had been trying to get ahold of her wand.

Evangeline nodded her head slightly and began reaching for her own wand. "What, you think you're better than us now or something? Just because you hang out with Potter you think you're some kind of saint? You seem to forget which house you come from," he continued. "My house does not define who I am you insolent git. And I don't think I'm better than you, I know I am," Vivian said before bringing her head backwards and slamming it into the boy who had ahold of her.

Ginny now had her wand in her hand and was shouting a spell at the Slytherin boy behind her. Evangeline brought her foot down onto Crabbe's and the boy loosened his grip on her. She elbowed him in the abdomen. "Petrificus Totalus," she said, watching as the boy's body froze up before he fell to the ground. The teenagers continued shouting spells at the Slytherins until they were all down. Ron grabbed Harry and Hermione's wands off of them.

They quickly ran out of Umbridge's office. "Colloportus," Evangeline said after slamming the door behind her. The door locked itself and the teens began running again. They reached the bridge outside and spotted Harry and Hermione running toward them. "How'd you get away?" Hermione asked as they all came to a stop. "Vivian caused a distraction, Ginny cast a spell, we all cast spells, poof, we're here," Cleo panted out.

Ron handed Harry and Hermione their wands. "It was brilliant. So, how are we getting to London?" Neville said. Harry looked at them all. "Look, it's not that I don't appreciate
everything you've done, all of you, but, I've got you into enough trouble as it is," he said, walking past them. "Dumbledore's Army's supposed to be about doing something real. Or was that all just words to you?" Neville spoke up.

"Maybe you don't have to do this all by yourself, mate," Ron told Harry. "We're not letting you do this by yourself, Harry. So you might as well get that thought out of your head," Evangeline said. Harry looked at each and every one of them. "So, how are we going to get to London?" He asked.

Luna smiled, "We fly of course."
