two
Wendy was sitting by a window, pointing at anything that caught her interest. Birds, trees, bushes, etc. Maria was sitting next to her, paying very close attention to this little girl. She was glad Wendy looked more like her but she did have his freckles.
Maria had divorced James about four years earlier and now she felt free. It was just her and her three daughters.
-
Maria was walked through the streets of her town. People were staring at her. Why? She didn't know. Little eleven year old Anna was shooting death glares at almost everyone. She held her daughters close to her until she noticed someone reading something.
The Reynolds Pamphlet
She went up to the person reading it and asked "Excuse me sir, but where can I get that?" The man gave her directions and off on her way she went.
-
Her hands were shaking. He hadn't really done that had he? Alexander didn't actually publish an entire ninety-five page pamphlet about the affair, right? This was just a bad dream she had yet to wake up from, right? Right? "Mom, what's wrong?" Anna asked catching her mother by slight surprise. "It's nothing, Anna." Maria answered quickly.
"Are you sure? You seem upset."
"I'm sure sweetheart."
"Okay. Anyways, can you come here? Wendy's about to-" She was interrupted by the sound of glass breaking and Maria sighed. "Go make sure she's okay." Anna nodded and ran off.
She went into the kitchen to see two broken glasses. "My goodness Wendy...not again." She began brushing up the glass pieces. Everything will be fine. Maria thought. Nobody knows who Wendy actually belongs to.
