Third Person's POV:
Sleeping the night away, the quartet woke up for their first day of academics.
Up in the girl's dormitories, Hermione attempts to make an effort to wake y/n for school with her pillow, "y/n wake up." y/n didn't wake. "Y/N WAKE UP" Hermione hollered into y/n's ear.
"WHO DIED-" y/n responded tumbling off her bed in confusion and exhaustion having Hermione laugh at y/n's act. Hermione threw y/n's scarlet embroidered Gryffindor robes on her bed to dress for their first class together.
Hermione flashed a quick 'good morning' smile and made her way down to the common room leaving y/n to change. Y/n had freshened up herself after her rest and had her hair up in bun with lack of effort with her front pieces softly curled framing her face held with her wand in the middle of it. With spraying her signature perfume, she stepped downwards to the common room.
The smell of the warm flames from the fire that sizzled and the rustic walls with ruby curtains falling draped over the windows, Gryffindor's common room had a homestyle to it. Comforting.
Hermione, Ron, and Harry waited for y/n by the fire on the crimson-coloured couches. Mid sentence as Harry was speaking with them, he was cut off by his sudden reaction of seeing y/n step down into their very sight. Harry was caught desiring her morning look and her hair spilling like a waterfall down framing her face to her jaw.
"Morning, favourites," y/n greeted cheekily in her raspy morning voice. "Morning sleeping beauty," Hermione called back with a smile grabbing y/n's wrist, "We've got classes to attend now. Come on guys."
The quartet strode sauntered out the painting with Ron to Hermione's left and Harry to y/n's right. Y/n swung her arm around Harry letting her hand dangle carelessly, "I have no idea how I'm going to get through this whole magic thing," she whispered into his hear chuckling. Harry's breath hitched at her touch and smiled at the sound of her faint chuckle in his ear. "Together," Harry assured her looking to his left dreamily to y/n with mesmerized eyes getting her to wink.
The four friends walked up a never ending staircase for Divination's class. The room had a whiff of cinnamon spice and humid air. Patched cushions, Water-like drapes, and countless embroidered rugs made up half the class.
"Welcome! Welcome my children," a goggle-eyed woman with untamed hair started. The class took their seats positioned and were ready for the madness to commence. "In this room you shall explore the noble art of divination!"The clumsy woman introduced.
Harry took his place onto a cushion and expected Ron to sit next to him but Ron seemed to have a plan somewhat different. Ron took Hermione by the wrist and they shared a table together having to leave y/n to partner with Harry.
y/n stopped in her tracks planning to stick with Hermione through their academics but seeing as Ron had been partnered with her, she eyed for Harry and sat next to beaming him a smile. Harry's shoulders flopped and relaxed, "H-hey, you- you look nice this morning"
Before y/n could intimidate Harry even further to her extent, she was cut off by their professor bumping into her wobbly unsteady coffee table. Harry and y/n whipped their heads to catch the others reaction and snickered quietly.
"Hello, I am professor Trelawney," she continued, "Together we must cast ourselves into the future!". The two had nearly lost it there.
Y/n was withering in silent laughter trying to be contained only to perk Harry in joining. Y/n got ahold of Harry and burried her face into his shoulder to hide. Harry felt his cheeks burn and his eyes glaze with surprise at her touch.
He couldn't help but laugh and having it as that y/n has absolutely lost in her containment for laughter and started out loud.
The whole class then broke out into short snickers and Harry was quick to cover my mouth with his hand.
"Shut up," Harry threatened y/n jokingly. The class calmed down and Trelawney resumed class, "This term, we'll focus on Tasseomancy, the art of reading tea leaves. So please, take the cup of the person sitting opposite you."
"Hand your future over Harry," y/n spoke sarcastically having her hand out. Instead of expecting his cup, he took his hand out and left it in hers.
"Harry- you sly ass, gimme the cup," y/n whisper yelled with amused wide eyes.
Harry scoffed without moving his sight keeping it fixed on y/n exchanging their cups to read.
"The truth lies buried like a sentence deep within a book, waiting to be read. But first, you must broaden your minds," she advised, "first, you must look beyond!"
"What a load of rubbish," Harry and y/n heard from Ron and Hermione's table.
"You boy, is your grandmother quite well," The mad professor asked concerning worriedly.
"I think so," poor Neville replied almost inaudible.
"I wouldn't be so sure of that," she said dramatically grabbing his cup, "Ohh- uhm, pity."
"What. The. Fuck." Y/n cursed staring blankly to the sight. Trelawney then gasped to y/n causing everyone's breath to hitch of sudden sound and Harry to grab her hand of being startled.
"Look at the cup, tell me what you see," The professor insisted.
Y/n stayed still without moving a muscle having her eyes glare at her goggled ones in disbelief then grabbing Harry's cup carelessly,
"Harry's got sort of a wonky cross. That's trials and suffering. And that there could be the sun and that's happiness. So... you're going to suffer but you're gonna be happy about it," She said mindlessly getting Harry to look down and bury his face in the palm of his hand chuckling.
Trelawney took the cup for out of curiosity and shrieked ever so dramatically, "My dear.. you have... the grim."
"The grin? What's the grin?" Seamus asked from afar.
"Not the grin, you idiot. The Grim," Bem informed emphasizing the M, "Taking form of a giant spectral dog. It's among the darkest omens in our world. It's an omen of.. death"
The class fell in silence to only hear a faint sharp breath leave y/n's mouth.
The class was dismissed and everyone headed out the room silently. Y/n grabbed Harry by the wrist and whispered, "There's more to you than you introduced is there now?" She asked indicating to my death threat.
"I'll tell you when we get to the common room," Harry replied assuringly.
Ron and Hermione caught on and up with the two and the four mates walked to the Gryffindor's common room. They all sloped down into the couches after the chaotic class and the silence cued Harry to throughly explain himself to y/n mainly.
After storytelling his childhood, first year in hogwarts, secon year, She was all caught up as if she had lived the life with him. Harry felt more than comfortable telling her this. She made Harry feel like they've known each other even before life.
"Troublesome," y/n commented to Harry with a sly grin.
"Let's not compare to you," Harry confidently grinned back proudly.
Y/n then got up getting the other 3 to do so as well for next class and took the chance to hold Harry's hand benevolently and whispered into his ear,
"As long as I'm around, we'll make the best of it." meaning that no matter what comes into Harry or anyone's way, they will be there to enjoy it somehow.
Harry held her hand back considerably and smiled to himself without even having to look y/n in the eyes.
The quartet walked down the steps contently knowing their next class was going to be taught by none other than they're favourite giant, Rubeus Hagrid himself.
(A/n I know y/n not there 🥲 but just pretend you're the book Harry's holding 😩🤙
