Newt's POV

I woke up the next morning, kind of excited to meet the greenie. If she had woken up yet. I was just about the walk out of my room when I almost stumbled into Alby.

'Hey Alby, good morning.' I said to him. Then I saw the worried look on his face.

'What's wrong?' I asked him.

'It's the girl.' Alby replied, not really answering my question.

'Did she wake up?'

'Well.. not only that.' A different voice said. 'That shank decided to go on a walk.' It was Minho.

'Where did she go?' I asked, hoping not to get the answer I thought I was gonna get.

'The maze, we think.'

Of course, I thought to myself.

'But the doors were closed last night, so that means she got in there just a few minutes ago. She can't be gone that far.' Alby said.

'I'll go see if I can get her.' Minho says, turning around and heading to the maze.

Raven's POV

After walking around for a while I realized I was probably in some kind of maze. I wanted to explore a little more so I started to walk a little faster.

I ended up running. I don't know why, but I kept running. It felt really good actually, just exploring while running.

I went to the right but saw only a wall there. It was a dead end. I couldn't go any other way from there so I had to run back to go to the left.

This seemed like the perfect opportunity to take a few minutes to catch my breath.

After a while, I started running back to go to the left. But instead of that, I bumped into someone.

Minho's POV

I ran into the maze trying to find the new greenie, which just happened to be a girl.

I took a few turns, wondering where she could be.

I turned right and bumped into someone. I fell right on top of the person.

It was the girl.

'What a great meeting. Are you gonna get off me or keep staring with your mouth wide open?' The girl asked after a few seconds.

I quickly got off her and brushed the dirt off my clothes.

'Pleasure to meet you too.' I replied as I looked at the girl. Her hair was dark brown and hung a few inches over her shoulders.

'What's your name?' She looked at me.

'Minho.' I replied. 'Let's go back to the Glade.'

'To the what?' She asked me, with a questioning look on her face.

Oh yeah, I forgot. Greenies ask a lot of questions. 'Just follow me and you'll be fine.' I told her.

Raven's POV

I followed the boy, Minho.

I still wanted to ask a lot of questions but I thought it wasn't the best situation. The look Minho gave me was the kind of look that said 'you-aren't-supposed-to-be-here' look. I decided that I had to ask him later, or someone else.

I didn't take long to get back to the place that Minho called 'the Glade'. When we arrived Minho headed to the building I was in earlier.

We got in and I saw that some of the boys were waking up, or already awake. I continued following Minho upstairs, back to the room where I woke up.

'Here you go.' He said while looking at a tall, dark-skinned boy. Minho didn't walk away and stood in the corner of the room.

I stood in the room awkwardly, not saying anything.

'What's your name?' The dark-skinned boy asked.

I didn't want to tell him the only thing I remembered. I think I just wanted to keep that one thing I remember to myself. So I just looked at him, not saying anything.

'You don't remember?' He asked.

I nodded.

'Do you remember anything else?' He asked again.

I was getting upset about the fact they asked me stupid questions about myself while I don't even know where I am or how I got here.

'No, I don't.' I answered him. 'How did I get here and why don't I remember anything?' I finally asked.

'Newt, I'm kind of busy today. Can you give her the tour?' The dark-skinned guy looked over at a tall blonde boy. He didn't even bother to answer my question.

I was so confused. Hopefully, this Newt guy will tell me something.

I followed the blonde boy out. When we were outside I saw more boys.

'I'm Newt.' The blond boy said to me. 'The guy you were talking to was Alby, and the person that got you out of the maze was Minho.' He explained.

'Why can't I remember anything?' I asked again. 'And what is this place?'

'All of us went through this, so don't worry you'll be okay, Greenie.' He answered me. I was happy that someone finally did.
'We call it the Glade, we basically live here. The place you were in earlier is the maze, don't go in there again, it's dangerous.'  He said sternly.

'Why is it dangerous?' I asked him.

'Guess you'll know soon.' He replied.

He gave me a tour, explaining that there were like 40 boys in the Glade. He also explained that I had to try jobs which are Builders, Cooks, Slicers, Track-hoes, Med-jacks, Sloppers, Brick-nicks, and Baggers.
Everyone did their job, that's what Newt had told me.

He showed me where everything was. The Homestead was the building where I woke up. They sleep there. The kitchen was also there, that's where the cooks worked. Sometimes they had gatherings in the gathering room, and also in the Homestead.
They luckily had a bathroom in the Homestead with a toilet and a shower.
At the back of the Homestead is some kind of jail, called 'the Slammer'.
The gardens were where the Track-hoes worked.

I didn't like the blood house, they slaughter animals there. There was also a small forest with a graveyard, called the 'Deadheads'.

Newt explained that the 'Doors' of the maze close every night and open in the morning.
The weird room that send me up here is called the Box. They get a new greenie every month. Everyone's memory is wiped.

I understood all of it a little more. I still didn't know why we were in the Glade, but I at least know what everything is called.

'What do you think, greenie?' Newt asked me after he gave me the tour.

'It's okay.' I answered. I didn't know how I was going to survive with all those boys around me, but the Glade seemed fine.

'I think they are having a gatherin' in about an hour.' Newt told me.

'Why?' I asked him

'It's about you. They think it's strange that you are the only girl here.' Newt explained. 'And I think they should talk about where you sleep because I don't think it's a good idea to let a girl sleep with dozens of boys around her.' Newt added.

'I agree. I don't think I should be sleeping with them around. And most importantly, you can't let me sleep on the ground' I added. 'It would be very rude to let a girl sleep on the ground.' I said with a smile.

Newt laughed. 'I think you'll be okay in the glade, Greenie.' He told me.

'Raven.'

'What?' Newt looked at me confused.

'My name is Raven.'

'Okay, I like it.' He smiled at me. 'But I'll still call you Greenie.'

I smiled.

I liked Newt, he was nice. Maybe the place wasn't that bad after all.

I don't have any readers right now but I just published this a few hours ago, so I didn't really expect that anyway!
