Chapter 32

Alive and Kicking

To a lot of people, the term turning off your humanity would mean exactly that. Vampires being able to so easily turn off every single feeling like a light switch in their mind. It may seem like all the grief, heartache, love, and fear would all be gone in an instant; but they never truly leave. Having no humanity darkens the mind, all of the feelings are still there but hidden beneath the darkness that consumes a vampire's mind, making them show no remorse for whatever they may do.

Lola Salvatore raised herself to become a strong-minded person, fighting through all the pain that life has thrown at her throughout her years on this earth. But everyone reaches their limits, so having to send her daughter away and finding out her brother was dead on the same night was too much for her to cope with. Lola had a plan, she spent time working through this plan. She was a perfectionist at times so a plan that was as drastic as turning off her emotions, she knew it needed to be thought through in detail.

Her fresh craving for blood was stronger, the more she fed, the more it was easy to let go. So she rationed herself, waiting for the right time to properly give into her blood lust. She knew what her next move was going to be and there was only one person in the world that knew what her plan was.

To the outside world, people would think that it seems impossible for the Salvatore siblings to ever be on good terms with each other. The hurt, betrayal and deceits that they threw against the other it would be no surprise if they were on separate sides of the world.

However what some people failed to see was everything underneath all the chaos they consumed. They'd die for each other. It didn't matter what chaos they may have endured, they'd always find their way back to each other. Whether it take days, months or even years; they always would. There was one thing that this family was always able to do, see right through each other.

Stefan knew Lola's plan from the very beginning about turning her emotions off. She explained everything once he found a home in Savannah. He wanted to object to it, of course he did. He has gone through the no humanity period many times throughout his history and felt overpowered by the strong burden of guilt that came after each time and he didn't want that for Lola. But he was able to see right through her and knew that no matter how many times he may object to her plan, she wouldn't change her mind. Instead he made an agreement.

Once Lola turned her emotions off, the plan was to then find Thomas Wetherby and end him permanently. Thanks to Cora and mysterious note hidden within the broach, Lola would be able to make sure that he would never have the possibility of ever coming back. Stefan agreed with Lola that the moment Lola's emotions are off, they see the plan through and go to France to find Thomas. The youngest Salvatore felt hopeless in regards to Lola's state of mind and how he wouldn't have been able to persuade Lola to stop her actions.

For one split second, Stefan envied Lola having no emotions as his frustration was growing more and more towards the old, rusty car they took from the airport. The ripper was always confident when it came to cars. Noticing issues with the car and fixing them with ease but as he leans over the busted engine, smoke flowing from the car, he was fed up.

"So..." Lola drawls out, shutting the car door behind herself before leaning against the car, "Not only have we established that your music tastes makes anyone that has a sane mind want to puncture their ear drumsโ€”"

"โ€”Can't be you then if it only implies to sane people." The youngest Salvatore wears a smug grin cutting off his sister as he slams the hood of the car shut with a loud thud.

"Funny." Lola narrows an unamused stare towards Stefan who is growing more and more agitated that this is now the third time the car has broken down. She pushes herself off the car, watching as Stefan walks to the driver's side, putting the key into the ignition, "But also that the summer you've spent working as an auto mechanic has deemed useless because you can't even fix the engine."

Stefan scoffs loudly when the car doesn't start, he climbs out of the car and gestures to the driver's seat, "Do you wanna try?" With pursed lips, Lola raises her hands up as she shakes her head. Stefan rolls his eyes, slamming the car door shut, "This is a piece of shit. We need a better car."

With his hands on his hips, Stefan's shoulders are slumped glaring towards Lola who frowns glancing between him and the car, "Why are you looking at me like that? You're the car guy!" She kicks the closed car door before she scoffs, "You're the one who stole this piece of shit in the first place so technically all of this is your fault."

Stefan shrugs, "It's low profile."

"What do you think we're walking into?" Lola gestures up to the telephone wire above them with half a dozen of birds on it, "Do you think he's controlling the birds and they're keeping tabs on where we are? He has no idea we're here and it doesn't matter what kind of car we travel in!"

The loud sounds of engines revving catches Stefan's attention, he looks over Lola's shoulder to see a group of bikers pull up outside of a bar. He places his hands on Lola's shoulders, turning her around and pushing her towards the same bar, "We're getting a drink. I need a drink if I'm gonna have to listen to your crap for the rest of this trip."

Lola practically digs her heels into the ground, staring towards the rustic looking bar, "In there, really? Everyone has more hair than gorillas do."

"You know disgust is an emotion, right?" Stefan moves to stand in front of his sister, eyes softening as he shrugs, "It's a feeling."

"Do you feel this?" Lola harshly kicks her brother against his shin making him shout out in pain, hand going straight to his shin.

Stefan breathes in sharply before a breathy, amused laugh falls from his lips, "Really?" He frowns looking up to see Lola approaching a woman standing on her own outside the bar, "Lo, come here."

"Please! Please help me!" Lola turns her tone into a shaky, terrified one as her hands grip around the woman's wrist. The dark haired woman's eyes widen as she takes in Lola's terrified stature as the heretic points towards Stefan who approaches them, "He's trying to kidnap me!"

"No, I'm not." Stefan's tone is calm as his hands are raised up before taking hold of Lola's arm, "She's my sister."

"No, he's lying!" Lola shouts, pulling herself out of Stefan's grip. Her brows furrow, forcing her eyes to turn glossy staring back at the woman, "He said he is going to cut me up and sell me to people."

The heretic's posture relaxes, face turns cold as her hand brushes against the woman's neck, "You have a lovely neck, maybe we should start cutting you up into pieces." She wears a sinister smile as the dark veins flash underneath her eyes making the woman gasp before running away from both Salvatores.

With a long, deep sigh, Stefan crosses his arms against his chest watching as the woman screams out running down the road, "Get that out of your system?"

Lola purses her lips as she shrugs before walking towards the entrance of the bar, "For now." She pushes Stefan away from her and begins to rush away from the bar, "That was a lie."

Stefan vamp speeds in front of Lola, making her come to a harsh halt. Stefan wears a smug grin stepping closer to the heretic as she steps back, "You're going in that bar, Charlotte Amelia Salvatore."

"Oh, you think you can threaten me with my full name?"

Lola scoffs attempting to once again push away from Stefan but he twists her around to face the bar, pushing her closer to it. Lola starts mumbling every curse word known to man as she tries to fight herself out of Stefan's hold.

She twists round to face him, with the palm of her hand pushing his face away from her before aggressively running her hand through Stefan's styled hair before she laughs, "Not much of a hero without the hero hair, huh?"

Stefan comes to an abrupt halt before giving Lola an unamused glare before picking her up and throwing her over his shoulder, "You are such a pain in the ass."

โ€”โœคโ€”

"Don't you think you've had enough?"

The sibling duo have only been in the bar for a maximum of twenty minutes and in those twenty minutes Lola has managed to practically devour an entire bottle of tequila on her own. This was the most emotion Stefan has seen on his sister's face this entire trip after he got them the wrong tequila and he refused to get another bottle until this one was empty. Mainly thinking that it would be himself that would drink majority of the bottle after feeling like he needs at least five bottles to himself.

"Who are you?" Lola scoffs, refilling her shot glass once again, "Mom? Oh no, wait. She's dead." The heretic doesn't even bother to fight back an eye roll watching when her younger brother stiffens up at the mention of their mother, just like he always did, "And the mommy issues come straight back to you."

Leaning across the table, Stefan snatches the almost empty bottle of tequila out of Lola's hand, "While we're on the topic of our motherโ€”"

"No." Lola abruptly interrupts Stefan, she flashes a forced smile before taking a shot, "We're not talking about this again."

"Why?" Stefan wears a hint of a smirk, gesturing the bottle towards his sister as he narrows his stare, "Are you afraid to admit that I could be right?"

"No, I think you're stupid." Lola scoffs, dismissing any theory that Stefan may have conjured up regarding their mother, "That handwriting wasn't our mother's. It's impossible."

It was no secret that Stefan was affected the most out of all three of them regarding their mother's death. He was only ten years old when their mother died and he never understood why he was the only one out of his siblings that shown emotion at her funeral. Their father would say only weak people cry but how could someone not cry burying their mother?

An image carved into his mind from that day would never leave, him standing between both Lola and Damon; their faces like stone and nothing behind their eyes as their mother's casket is lowered into the damp ground. He always thought of his mother, wondering if the outcomes of their human lives would have happened differently if she was still by their side.

A son's love towards their mother would never go away, she is their first love and someone who is supposed to protect them throughout their life. Stefan would spend days crying himself to sleep when he was a boy, eyes tightly closed to see visions of his mother in his mind.

Stefan gets brought out of his dazed stance from the sound of a new bottle of tequila hitting against the table. He watches as Lola twists the cap off, pouring them both a shot. He clears his throat, taking hold of the shot as he shifts to the edge of his seat, "So you really think he's got no idea we're coming for him?"

Lola sucks in her bottom lip between her teeth as she tries to fight back a smile before shrugging her shoulders, "There was a handful of witches in New Orleans that were working with him and let's just say..they quit with immediate effect."

With a raised brow, Stefan narrows a confused stare towards his sister, "Meaning what exactly?"

The heretic brings a shot glass towards her lips, unable to hold back an obnoxious laugh, "Meaning I killed them while creating my own little blood tasting game." Her shoulders slump watching as her brother leans back in his seat and sighs, "Oh, don't give me those judgy eyes. You'd have done the same if you weren't a blood-aholic. Remember when you had no humanity? Playing a bloody version of twister?" Lola leans across the table, trying to catch Stefan's gaze, "Ring any bells? God, you're so boring."

"How do you want me to act, Lo? I've travelled across the world with my sister who is bitchier than she normally is!" Lola's jaw slacks at Stefan's sudden outburst resulting in a scoff falling from his lips before pointing in her direction, "Don't give me that look, you are! We're on our way to end the guy and you shown more of a reaction because I got the wrong tequila. You expecting us to just sit here and play truth or dare or some shit like we're not on our way to commit murder?"

Lola's brows shoot up, giving Stefan an unamused glare, "I'm supposed to show emotion towards the man who's been, as Klaus would say, a walking virus?" Rolling his eyes, Stefan takes the bottle of tequila pouring himself another shot, "Dare."

Stefan frowns, "What?"

"I'm expecting us to sit here and play truth or dare." Lola mocks exactly what Stefan said only a few minutes prior. She leans back in her seat, gesturing for her brother to start, "So, dare."

Stefan shakes his head but couldn't help but laugh that they were in this country to kill someone and now they're sat in a bar playing truth or dare, "Okay, fine! I don't know. I dare you to get some guy to buy you a drink."

Lola buries her face into the palm of her hands and she groans obnoxiously loud, "That's a shit dare." She shrugs before resting her chin against her hands wearing a devious grin, "I don't need a dare to do that."

"I thought Damon was the most vain out of us all." Stefan leans back in his chair, he scoffs pointing towards Lola who doesn't wipe the grin off her face, "You're that confident thatโ€”"

"Mademoiselle?" Stefan's attention goes to the bartender, placing a martini glass in front of Lola whose stare doesn't leave her brother. The bartender points behind himself, "From the gentleman at the bar."

Lola continues wearing the same devious smile that is now mixed with pure smugness looking up at the bartender, "Merci." She looks towards the bar where a dark haired man in a leather jacket sits, smiling over to her. She scoffs slightly noticing the drink, "A dirty martini. How predictable." She raises the glass, smiling towards the man, "Just like you doubting that I couldn't easily get a free drink, baby brother."

"Hey." Stefan clicks his fingers in Lola's face when she doesn't break eye contact with the man. She rolls her eyes turning her attention back to a displeased looking Stefan, "You seriously checking that guy out?"

The older Salvatore gasps dramatically, watching as the man takes off his leather jacket making her able to see the top of a tattoo on his neck, "Stefan, look! He has a tattoo of a fork." Her hand goes against her heart as she sighs, "Maybe we're soulmates."

It's impossible for Stefan to hide how uncomfortable he feels in this exact moment, he lowers his head staring down at the table in front of him, "That's a devil's pitchfork."

Lola hums to herself, she straightens herself up in her seat as her lips twitch up into a smirk, "Even better."

Stefan scoffs, glaring over towards the man, "I'm sure Klaus would love to meet that guy."

With pursed lips, Lola stirs the cocktail stick within the glass, "Remember how much fun we had a couple summers ago?"

Stefan can't help but laugh knowing exactly what Lola is talking about, he sinks into his seat as he continues to laugh, "You mean the summer when we were with Klaus as he tried but ironically failed to create some hybrid army?"

"That's not relevant." Lola waves off any talk about Klaus, she smirk leaning agains the table, "Remember that one bar we were in and you started a full on bar fight all because a guy bumped into you, making you spill your drink? That was funny."

"Actually," Stefan drawls out, tapping his daylight ring against the table, "Klaus started that. He's the one who threw the guy across the bar which resulted in him colliding with me." The Salvatore rolls his eyes, bringing his drink up to his lips, "All because he was looking at you."

"Oh, yeah." Lola drawls out in a dull tone, she perks up slightly staring at her half full martini, "I got a free martini then too."

"You're not going to ask me?"

Lola watches her the corner of her brother's mouth twitches up into a smile making her immediately wish she never started the whole truth or dare game. She clicks her tongue before an obnoxious sigh escapes her lips, "I already know what your answer will be but...truth or dare."

Stefan's lips for a thin line as he nods, "Truth."

"Don't you ever get bored of being so predictable?" She ponders on a thought for a moment, sitting back in her seat as she crosses her arms against her chest, "Why aren't you acting like your classic Saint Stefan self? You get a sniff of a no humanity vampire and you tie them up, forcing them to feel again. But you haven't been like that with me. Why?"

The youngest Salvatore was trying to not make it seem as though he wasn't in favour of Lola turning her emotions off. He thought he didn't make that as obvious as he usually does when someone has their emotions off.

However, since shutting her emotions off, Lola has burned bridges with some people who are so close to her and as of right now there's not been a single moment where that was going to happen with Stefan. He hated seeing his sister like this, but as long as there is no negativity between them, he won't interfere, "It's not great seeing you like this, granted. And when you told me this was your plan, I wanted to object to it. But I know you well enough to know you'd have done this whether I liked it or not."

"What's that smell?" Lola frowns glancing around the bar before directing a bored glare towards her brother, "Bullshit. I know you, little brother. You're planning something. Let me guess, you're plotting with Klaus. Have you told him where we are?"

"As far as he knows, we're in Mystic Falls." Stefan takes his phone from his pocket, narrowing his stare towards the screen as he reads out his latest message to Klaus, "About to head to the crypt to say a final goodbye to Damon."

Lola leans across the table trying to snatch Stefan's phone out of his hand but he stretches his arm back as he wears a smug grin making Lola scoff, "You're in regular contact with him? Since when do I need babysitting?"

Stefan sighs, dropping his phone onto the table before resting his arms against the edging of it. It's silent between the pair for a second before Stefan's phone ringing catches their attention, they both look down to see the caller ID as Caroline. Stefan tenses up seeing her name, shaking his head before looking anywhere but his phone.

Everyone grieves in their own way, no one can possibly grieve the same and there is no right or wrong way. Stefan not wanting to hold onto Mystic Falls was part of his grief, he wanted a new life and why was that so wrong to some? Caroline was holding onto the possibility of finding a way for everyone to go back to Mystic Falls and to bring Bonnie and Damon back. But as each day, week and month went by, to some it was harder to see the light at the end of that tunnel.

Lola's lips twitch up in disgust at Caroline's name before taking hold of Stefan's phone and throwing it across the bar, landing directly into someone's large pitcher of beer.

Stefan's jaw goes slack, "You really just did that." He glances between the pitcher of beer that has now splattered over the two men at the table and Lola who is looking proud of herself for making the shot.

"I did you a favour." Lola huffs pouring Stefan another shot of tequila, "I didn't realise how annoying Caroline can be until now. Plus this way you can stop updating Klaus on what stage my mental stability is at."

Stefan's eyes soften, "He's worried about you, Lo."

The heretic sucked on her teeth before shrugging nonchalant, "He was worried when I was a hormonal mess crying at videos of cats. He got over it. Just like he'll get over this."

Stefan knew what his sister was doing. The way she would avoid eye contact with him just like she would do ever since they were children and he would ask her where the new bruises against her would come from.

He watches as she tries to reach out for the practically empty bottle, he takes hold of it before Lola is able to and moves it away from her, "Our brother being gone and you having to send your daughter away is way worse than any stupid cat video."

The same soften glow that would always be within Lola's eyes whenever she was around the people she cared about was gone. The same green orbs that are identical to her brother's, that would go as deep as any forest were dull, "I don't care about any of that."

If you would just look Lola in the eyes and hear her dry tone of voice, that statement would've been believable. Without his sister realising, Stefan notices as Lola claims she doesn't care, her thumb draws circles around her bare finger where her engagement ring was.

It was then it made Stefan realise that Lola may be able to fool others that she has fully switched her emotions off, but all it takes is a fraction of a second for that exterior to fade for him to know his sister is still there, "You think I don't know when my own sister is lying to me?"

"I've lied to you so many times and you've never noticed. One being two minutes ago when I said you used to be fun." Lola's attention goes to the main door of the bar as the bell above it rings. Looking over her shoulder she sees the same dark haired man who was sitting at the bar flash a half crooked grin towards her before he leaves. Her lips form a thin line as she turns her attention back to Stefan, "I don't have to prove to you that I don't care about anything. Because I don't."

"I think you do. You think I don't know when someone has the whole dimmer switch faรงade going on?" A hint of a smile graces Stefan's lips as he comes to his feet. His hand goes against Lola's shoulder, playfully pushing her to the side, "Come on, we practically invented that."

Lola scoffs, pushing Stefan's hand off her before he laughs walking towards the bar. With pursed lips, Lola looks over her shoulder watching as Stefan orders another round of drinks at the bar until the distant sounds of engines revving catch her attention. She looks out of the window to the side of her to see the same man from earlier who has now joined another three men all congregated around their motorbikes.

With a new bottle of tequila in his hand, Stefan turns on his heel back towards their table, "Alsoโ€”" His eyes widen seeing Lola no longer sitting there, "Shit."

He quickly glances around the half empty bar to see his sister no where to be found. A loud group of laughter from outside catches his attention. He leans down looking out the window to see Lola standing in the middle of a biker group before he scoffs rushing out of the bar.

Sharply turning the corner outside, Stefan heads straight towards where Lola is wearing the biggest fake grin he has ever seen against his sister's lips as she leans against one of the motorbikes, laughing, "That's impressive."

The tall, dark haired man from earlier in the bar stands up straight from the bike. With a roguish laugh he gestures Lola towards the seat, "I'll take you for a ride."

"Lola!" Stefan's loud, strict-sounding tone of voice catches everyone's attention. The grin on Lola's face soon vanished, "What the hell!?"

"Oh, god." Lola groans, rolling her eyes, "Here comes the old ball and chain. Does anyone else have a really annoying family who refuses to let you have fun?" She flashes a tight lipped grin towards her younger brother as he closes the gap between him and her, "Predictable as always, Stefan."

Stefan cocks his head to the side as an exasperated, breathy laugh escapes, "Sorry to be predictable, Lo, but if my sister runs out of a bar to bond with a random biker gang then I'm gonna be worried." He takes a step back, gesturing behind them, "Come on."

The older Salvatore's face turns blank, the small hint of attitude lights up her eyes as she steps backwards towards the bike, "I'm not ready to leave yet, Stefan."

"That's enough." A sharp breath falls from Stefan's lips, soon growing tired of Lola's attitude, "We gotta go."

As the Salvatore attempts to step closer to his sister, the dark haired man stands in front of Lola, blocking Stefan. He laughs in an irritated manner, looking over the man's shoulder towards Lola, "Who's this guy, huh?" He glares at the dark haired man, pushing him back slightly, "Back the hell away from my sister."

"His name is Reggie." Lola threads her arm through Reggie's and leans closer to him, "Would you believe it if I said he's came here from Louisiana? Small world, right?"

"Clearly I've been living in the wrong part of Louisiana." Reggie wraps his arm around Lola's shoulder, smiling at her before looking over to Stefan, "I haven't known your sister long but can already tell she's a little firecracker."

Stefan rolls his eyes when Lola laughs at the little nickname the biker made, "Yeah she's a real hoot."

Reggie steps towards his motorbike, climbing on it before starting the engine, "If you want to get to where you're headed before sunset, we'll have to go now."

Lola steps closer to Reggie's revving bike before glancing behind her to a hesitant Stefan, "You coming?"

Stefan scoffs, throwing his hands up in the air, "Coming where?"

"How did you expect us to get to where we need to go with that piece of shit?" Lola gestures towards their broken down, rusty looking car in the distance, "Reggie said he will take me to Chรฉdigny and one of the guys here will lend you their bike." She smirks, glancing to the empty bike beside them, "Come on, you can't resist a Harley."

"Is this really a good idea?" Stefan gently takes hold of Lola's arm, pulling her to the side slightly as Reggie talks in the distant with the rest of the group, "Creating allies with a group who look like they haven't showered in weeks wasn't exactly part of the plan."

Lola sighs in an exasperated manner, "You want this to be over, right?" She can see in Stefan's eyes that he knows what Lola's plan is right now is the only plan. His shoulders slump before looking down at the ground as he nods. Lola hums to herself, grabbing the helmet off the spare bike before pressing it against Stefan's abdomen, "Well, the only way is to stop being a baby and get on the damn bike!"

The youngest Salvatore hesitated, only for a second longer before giving in. He shakes his head slightly, putting the helmet on which makes his sister smirk towards him, "I knew you could be fun."

โ€”โœคโ€”

Reggie pulls up a few hundred feet away from the Wetherby estate, he removes his sunglasses looking towards the mansion, "Is this where you needed to be?"

Lola climbs off the motorbike, looking over her shoulder as Stefan pulls up beside them. She removes her helmet, passing it to Reggie, "This is perfect. Thank you."

"A car will be here ready for you both by the time you're done in there." Reggie smirks towards Lola, "I'll make sure to look out for you the next time I'm in the big easy."

Lola matches the same smirk, watching as Reggie rides off on the bike. Stefan clears his throat standing beside his sister, "So not only have we got murder and theft on our list, you're adding adultery onto it too?"

Lola rolls her eyes, pushing Stefan away from her before she starts to walk towards the house, "My emotions are off but that doesn't mean I'm stupid. Flash a pretty smile to someone and they'll do whatever you want." She shrugs when she can hear Stefan scoff, "Doesn't mean anything else would have to happen."

Just as Stefan is about to quip something back, Lola shushes him by pressing her elbow into his abdomen, pointing towards a man pacing in front of the gate leading to Thomas' estate. Lola vamp speeds behind the man and before he can react she snaps his neck, pushing him onto the floor.

Hands are against his hips as Stefan looks down at the now dead security, "Subtle."

"What did you want me to do? Read one of your journals and hope it sends them into a deep slumber?" She cautiously opens up the entrance gate, peering her head around to see the party they expected to be happening in full swing. She looks over her shoulder towards Stefan, "You know what to do?"

Stefan nods quickly as Lola opens the gate further, stepping back and allowing him to walk in first. He quickly blends in with the crowd and without Thomas noticing he begins to compel guests out of the home. Lola cloaks herself, heading inside of the house knowing exactly where she needs to go next.

The crowd disperses enough for Stefan to spot Thomas in the middle of the crowd with his arm wrapped around a petite blonde. It infuriated Stefan being to close to the man who has destroyed so much within his family and he had to fight the urge of storming over to him and killing him instantly.

Thomas Wetherby is in mid conversation until something catches his eye in the first floor window. The colour practically drains from his face, noticing a vision of blonde hair glide past the window.

"Are you okay, my darling?" A thick french accent from the blonde beside him breaks Thomas out of his panic stare towards the house.

He flashes a quick smile towards the woman before dismissing himself from her and the crowd they were stood with. His eyes don't leave the first floor window as he steps closer and closer towards the house, knowing exactly who it is.

The blonde who was stood beside Thomas, turns to walk further into the crowd but gasps when she collides with a broad shoulder, causing red wine to spill against her pale yellow summer dress. Her shocked stare is met with Stefan's calm one, "I'm so sorry, that was totally my fault."

She flashes a polite smile towards Stefan, shaking her head, "It was mine, I'm sorry. I'm so clumsy, I wasn't looking where I was going." She frowns noticing the wine has also stained the shirt that Stefan wears, "Follow me, I'll find something in the house to hopefully help with these stains."

A hint of a smirk appears against Stefan's lips, feeling satisfied that his and Lola's plan is going exactly how it should be. He quickly glances up towards the first floor window, hoping that Lola feels as satisfied as he does right now.

Taking a deep breath, Thomas approaches the closed door that leads into the same room where he seen the vision of blonde beside the window. He slowly opens the door, peering his head around the half open door to be greeted with emptiness.

He pushes the door open even further before he steps in. As Thomas steps further into the room, he feels himself tense up as he turns to the left to see Lola sitting on the ottoman at the end of the bed. She flashes a smug smile towards him, "Hello there."

Thomas scoffs, glaring towards the heretic, "I was wondering when you were going to show your face here."

Lola holds her hand up making Thomas' eyes widen, "A gun with wooden bullets. My, my, you did come prepared this time, didn't you? Lovely to see you again, Thomas." Lola gestures the gun towards her face, narrowing her stare towards the witch, "A few crows feet since I saw you last."

Thomas shrugs, shoving his hands into his pockets as he steps closer towards Lola, "The deal with the ancestors was I come back as my true self. Not a blood sucker." Lola cocks the gun, pointing it towards Thomas which makes him scoff, "You underestimate me, Lola. I know better to leave a loadedโ€”"

A loud, pained scream comes from Thomas as Lola shoots the gun, aiming at his kneecap. He falls to the floor screaming, his hand clutching hold of his knee as blood spills out. Lola sighs, holding onto the gun as she comes to her feet, "Oh, I knew that already. Turns out you overestimated yourself finding a hiding place for the bullets. Even my brother had better hiding spots for moonstones and stakes." She wears a sinister grin as she closes the gap between them both, crouching down beside Thomas, "We've got quite a bit to catch up on, huh?"

Thomas' breathing becomes shaky, his grits his teeth glaring up at Lola, "You can talk as much as you want but I'll happily bleed to death on this floor without saying another syllable."

Lola shakes her head, unable to stop herself from laughing, "That's funny. You know, I thought you'd say that." Thomas screams out when Lola digs her fingers into the bullet wound, pulling the bullet out from his leg and throwing it to the side. Her hand hovers over the wound and watches as it magically heals, "I'm smart enough to not use my blood on you because when I do eventually kill you then it will just bring you back. We don't want that."

Both of their attentions turn towards the door that gets thrown open to see a flustered looking blonde. Thomas' eyes widen as his voice is raised, "Cรฉline, get out of here!"

Cรฉline ignores his plea and rushes towards his side, "There was a man and he was getting everyone to leave the party! He tried pulling me into a different room but then I heard a gun shot and managed to get away from him!" Her brows knit together as she sees the pool of blood surrounding Thomas as he remains on the floor, "What's going on? Is that your blood?"

Cรฉline's attention goes towards Lola leaning against the wall when the heretic clears her throat. The human helps Thomas to his feet, frowning towards Lola, "Who is this?"

"Give it a rest, Cรฉline." Lola rolls her eyes as she shrugs, "We should probably just come clean now."

Thomas' brows knit together with confusion, glancing between the two women, "What's going on?"

"I don't know who you are!" Cรฉline threads her arm through the Thomas', her eyes turn into panic, "Thomas, I have no idea what she's talking about!"

"Of course you do!" Lola's smile beams, gesturing towards the blonde, "Thomas, meet my accomplice." Thomas' face twists with even more confusion, his posture stiffens glancing between them both, unable to fathom any words.

Lola scoffs, "Oh, come on. You didn't think I created this whole revenge plan on my own, did you? Honestly, I need to give Cece here some credit, this was all mainly her."

Thomas clenches his jaw, his eyes darken stepping closer to the heretic, "You honestly think that I'm going to believe in these vulgar deceits?"

"She's crazy!" Cรฉline screams out, standing behind Thomas, "I don't know who she is!"

"Think about it, Thomas." Lola tone is calm, almost monotone as she shows no emotion towards them both, "I couldn't have possibly done this alone." Her eyes soften ever so slightly towards the woman hiding behind Thomas, "It's okay, Cece. He's going to get what he deserves just like we planned."

"She's lying! I've never met her in my life!" Cรฉline stands in front of a stiff Thomas whose stare doesn't leave Lola, "You have to believe me!"

"Hm, is she your girlfriend? Or is she the biggest psycho of us all?" Lola rests the gun against her cheek as she tilts her head, "Girlfriend? Psycho? Girlfriend? Psycho? That's a tough one." She points the gun towards the blonde, "We created this entire plot! You meet little damsel, Cece, who has a flat tyre only a couple miles from right here. She flashes those little doe eyes and you fold. You fell for her a lot quicker than we expected."

"Thomas, I swear to youโ€”"

"Sweetie, please." Lola stops Cรฉline from saying anything else, "Don't interrupt." A long, amused breath falls from Lola's lips as she leans against the wall looking towards the girl, "God, the laughs and jokes that we had whenever you called me with whatever bullshit came out of his mouth." She points the gun towards Thomas who stands hesitant besides Cรฉline, "Who'd have thought you'd be such a sweet talker, huh, Tommy? She only accepted your proposal so we could do this. You know that, right?"

"She is lying!" Cรฉline continues to plea. It felt like history repeating itself for Thomas, the same look in his fiancee's eyes was the same exact look that Lola wore when she swore she knew knowing about the death of his first love. Picking up on this the girl, stands in front of Thomas, eyes showing nothing but plea, "Look at me, I'm telling the truth! This bitchโ€”"

Lola aims the guns at Cรฉline's head, shooting her without any hesitation. Thomas screams out, throwing himself forward to try and catch the girl's limp body but he's too late and she collides with the cold floor.

"No!" Thomas becomes hysterical, cradling the now lifeless body of Cรฉline.

Lola sighs, her lips form a thin line, "She really was telling the truth. You really fell for that?" She laughs to herself as she starts circling around Thomas on the floor, "I am so good at this! I thought my trust issues were bad, but yours? You should really sort that out. It's such a toxic trait! I mean poor Cรฉline. She was completely innocent!"

Thomas eyes darken with fury as he comes to his feet, "I'm going to kill you."

With the handle of the gun, Lola hits Thomas at the side of his head making him fall to the floor. She harshly kicks his stomach, "Don't get me excited like that. Come on! You really believed my little story for a moment, didn't you?"

Thomas starts coughing, trying to catch his breath as he attempts to stand up, "You were calling her Cece."

Lola obnoxiously rolls her eyes, "Are you seriously telling me that you thought it was a unique nickname? You're more dumb than I remember. This girl was perfect for you, T." Lola gestures down at the lifeless body bleeding out on the floor, "She was bright, beautiful, could actually stand to be around you. You know, she didn't care that your forehead was just a little bit too big. She was the perfect girl! The type of girl you'd take home to your mom." Lola steps closer to Thomas, leaning closer to him, "If you had a mom."

"You fucking bitchโ€”"

"Oh!" Lola shouts out, she aims the gun towards Thomas' face making him step back, "So vulgar!"

A smile appears on Lola's face when she hears footsteps entering the room, "Meet my actual partner in crime." Thomas looks over Lola's shoulder to see a blonde haired man walk into the room, "This is Stefan, my brother."

"You know what's funny? I just realised what room we're in. Let me see." Lola looks down at the ground, mumbling to herself, "Oh yeah. I was standing right here as I watched the light leave your mother's eyes who was on the floor exactly were little Cece is. It's like history repeating itself."

Thomas raises his hand about to chant, storming towards Lola. Stefan vamp speeds behind him, wrapping his arm around Thomas neck before pulling out a needle and stabbing it into Thomas, "You really think we're gonna let you do shit like that?" Stefan injects Thomas with a liquid form of herbs that mute any magic before throwing him onto the floor, "Try and lay a hand on my sister again and I'll kill you myself."

"Let me guess..." Thomas slowly looks up towards Lola, he glares at her knowing exactly what he's just been injected with, "You found your grandmother's grimoire."

"Thank you for bringing that up. I was hoping you were going to tell the story on how the hell it survived that fire." Lola steps closer to the man on the floor, narrowing her stare, "More importantly, how is it even possible you're here right now? I turned you into ash."

A sinister laugh escapes Thomas, "But what you didn't do was dispose my ashes. There was a witch on my side who wasn't exactly herself at the time. I believe you've met her in several different forms. Celeste?" Lola rolls her eyes looking away from Thomas which makes him smirk, "She found the wreckage of my home, took my ashes and consecrated me with the ancestors. As for the book, well, clearly you're not very good at setting fires because by some miracle it survived."

Stefan presses his foot against Thomas' back, forcing him back down onto the floor, "So you darkened the world by coming back into it. Why? So you could try and kill my sister, again?"

"We may have not succeeded in killing her, yet." Thomas comes to his feet, leaning against the wall for support, "But we succeeded with several other deaths in your family, didn't we?"

"You keep saying we. Who's we?" Lola tilts her had to the side, attempting to not look smug, "Because you can't still be talking about your slut granddaughter, right?" The colour drains from Thomas' face, his eyes widen making Lola want to bite even further, "Why the long face, Thomas? You don't think the ancestors honestly got to her first, do you?"

Lola can hear Thomas' jaw click, he clenches it that much as he his eyes show nothing but anger towards the heretic, "You're the one who killed Genevieve."

Lola shrugs her shoulders, unable to stop her laughter, "Yeah and she died like a little bitch."

"It wasn't just my family who wanted to make the Whittakers extinct! Your mother-in-law was the head of the entire thing." Thomas wipes away the blood dripping down the side of his face from the earlier impact before gesturing towards Lola, "See, she knows all about your coven and she knows how evil you all are."

Thomas laughs slightly, noticing the hint of confusion covering Stefan's face, "What's the matter, Stefan? You look a little confused." Thomas' jaw slacks, brows pull inwards as he looks over to Lola, "Wow, you haven't even told your own brother about your family's history? Klaus still doesn't know either, does he?"

Stefan frowns, standing between them both, "What the hell is he talking about?"

"Stefan, leave the room." Lola demands without her stare leaving Thomas, she glances over to Stefan giving him a knowing glare, "Now."

"The Whittaker coven goes back centuries." Thomas speaks up, "They were even around before the Original witch. But back then, everyone in the coven had magical abilities. It wasn't just the first born daughter. A lot of people have said there's a darkness within you, Lola. Whittaker's hiding behind an angel mask but everyone knows what truly lies beneath. Switching off your humanity is taking you one step closer to becoming the darkness your coven has always been."

"The ancestors of my family tried to stop your coven from growing even stronger." Thomas continues, "We created a curse, to stop everyone within the Whittaker line to gain magical abilities but there was a loophole. We couldn't completely stop the coven from having magic, instead it would be the first born daughter of every generation that would gain the ability to perform magic. Which seemed fine at first, it was better to just have to deal with one every generation but every single one of you became stronger than the other."

"If you're trying to make me fall asleep with your pointless history lesson then it's working." Lola quips in a dull tone.

"Well, I'm sure Stefan wants me to continue." Thomas looks to the side where a speechless Stefan remains as he attempts to come to terms with the untold history of his family, "As each first born daughter died, the next gained the previous power. Each generation grew stronger and stronger. Nature needed balance." Thomas gestures towards Lola, stepping closer to her, "In your case, as a siphoner you would have never been able to gain as much magic strength to tap into your true power."

Lola hums out, "And how did that work out for them, huh?"

"I'll admit, it's a shame my family weren't successful in killing the last four generations of first born Whittakers." Thomas closes the gap between himself and Lola, his eyes show nothing but evil, "Three out of four is something though, right?"

Stefan pushes Thomas away from his sister, before letting Thomas react Stefan starts punching him in the face. Each blow to Thomas wasn't just from Stefan's anger towards the man. They were for Lola. The younger Salvatore knew that if Lola's humanity was on, Thomas would've never even finished that sentence before Lola killed him. What angered Stefan was the most was he wasn't there to protect Lola the first time this man infiltrated her life and nothing was going to stop him from protecting his sister ever again.

Thomas' face soon became bloodied and swollen from each hit from the youngest Salvatore. Stefan throws Thomas onto the floor, his breathing becomes heavy, "Tell me again."

Thomas is weak as he attempts to hold himself up, choking on his own blood, "What?"

"Tell...me." Stefan's tone turns low, he grabs a fistful of Thomas' shirt pulling him up to his feet, "Again." All he needed was Thomas to say that it was because of him that they both lost Cora and Hope. He scoffs dropping a weak Thomas to the floor, "If you don't kill him right now, Lola, I swear his head is going through that window and the rest of him is getting thrown into that fire."

Lola steps closer to Thomas, reaching to the back of her head when she pulls a gold hair pin from her head. She kneels beside Thomas, not saying a word. She wanted to enjoy this. Before Lola is able to enjoy ending him once again, Thomas' hands go to either side of Lola's face as he begins to chant.

Lola screams out, feeling like her brain is melting. Her eyes are tightly shut when blurred visions appear; a flock of birds swarming around a crying baby, at least a hundred sets of amber eyes lighting up darkness, a muscular arm with a thick black tattoo against it, a woman humming a lullaby on a rocking chair holding a newborn baby before she hears someone shouting her name.

She gasps managing to break away from Thomas who wears an evil grin. Lola's eyes darken, gripping hold of his throat, "What the hell was that?"

A twisted, evil laugh falls from Thomas' lips as he leans closer to Lola, "The beginning of the end."

Her grip tightens around the golden hair pin before stabbing it directly into Thomas' eye making him scream out. She presses down against a small clasp on the hair pin, making green liquid empty out into Thomas system. She doesn't look away, watching as the light completely drains out of Thomas' other eye, sighing to herself when she hears his heart stop beating. She sits back on her knees as she takes a deep breath before Stefan holds his hand out of her, helping her to her feet.

Stefan kicks Thomas' limp body as he sighs, "What the hell did he do to you?"

Lola's eyes tightly shut when a sharp piercing sound floods her mind and blurred visions appear again. She clears her throat, rubbing her fingers against her temple, "I'll figure it out. This time, we get rid of his body properly."

โ€”โœคโ€”

As Stefan drives down the long, dirt road towards the small house in Savannah, he glances to the passenger side to where Lola fell asleep. For a split second he didn't want to disturb Lola as she slept, she spent majority of the flight back to the states moaning about the ringing in her ears and splitting headache ever since Thomas did whatever he did.

But that small moment of wanting to give his sister some peace lasted less than five seconds before he slams the breaks, bringing the car to a harsh halt. Lola groans as she slowly wakes up, clutching hold of her head as Stefan smiles sweetly towards her, "How's the head?"

Lola readjusts herself in her seat, running her hand through her hair, "That's a bit of an inappropriate question to ask your sister."

"Whatโ€”" Stefan's face squirms with disgust instantly realising what Lola meant, "Oh." He takes the key out of the ignition before he sighs, "You gonna be okay driving the rest of the way? You could always stay here until tomorrow."

"And have you ramble on about this whole dimmer switch you claim I have going on?" Lola's brows shoot up in fake surprise, unbuckling her seatbelt, "No thanks."

"I'm just saying, I've been where you are, Lo." Stefan's tone is calm and slow as he shrugs his shoulders looking out of the window, "I burned a lot of bridges during the whole dimmer switch phase and I regret it all."

"Speaking of bridges..." Lola drawls out with pursed lips, "Didn't you threaten to drive the apparent love of your life over one during your switch?"

A tight lipped smile appears against Stefan's lips, cocking his head to the side, "Did you really have to bring that up again?" He turns to see Lola wearing a shit-eating grin which makes him roll his eyes, "I should've just left you with that biker gang."

"You started it, hero hair." Lola mumbles under her breath. A car engine in the distance catches her attention, she turns around in her seat looking through the back window to see a car approaching them, "Who is that?"

Stefan turns around and his eyes widen as he spots a dark haired girl climbing out of the car, heading straight to the trunk of the car. A smirk twitches up in the corner of Lola's lips as she sees Stefan's posture stiffen in the corner of her eyes, "Oh, that's Ivy, isn't it?"

Lola's hand slowly moves towards the car horn before Stefan harshly grabs hold of her hand giving her a stern glare, "Don't even think about it."

Lola's bottom lip goes between her teeth, attempting to stop herself until she watches as Ivy approaches the house, unaware of both siblings being in the car. Lola ruffles up Stefan's hair to distract him before she harshly presses down on the car horn making Ivy jump, almost dropping the brown paper bag in her hands.

Stefan sighs, hand pinching the bridge of his nose, "Shit."

Ivy's smile beams noticing Stefan in the driver's seat as he lowers the window, "That was good timing. Iโ€”" Ivy's eyes widen slightly when Lola comes into view from the passenger side, "Oh, sorry. Hi."

"Uh, this is my sister." Stefan sinks further into the seat, hoping the further he sinks into it the closer he will get to landing in hell away from this. He points towards his sister beside him who wears a fake smile, "Lola."

"Hello, Ivy." Lola's tone turns sweet, leaning across the car, "Has Stefan shown you his rabbit collection yet?"

Ivy laughs nervously, brows furrow with confusion, "His what?"

Stefan elbows Lola, pushing her back towards the other side of the car as he smiles innocently to his girlfriend, "Ignore her."

"I didn't know you had a sister."

Lola sighs dramatically, her hand squeezes Stefan's cheeks as she smiles sweetly towards the human, "Oh well, Stef isn't one to brag. It's not like we've always got along, our brother made sure of that. But then I died."

Lola watches as Ivy's polite smile instantly vanishes, her eyes dance between the brother and sister in the car not knowing what to say or to think. Lola leans closer towards the window, "Oh no, don't freak out. You look like you're freaking out! I came back from the dead, obviously." She smiles over to Stefan who looks like he is begging god to drop an astroid onto the car, "Then we started to bond again. But then I died again."

Stefan slaps his hand across Lola's mouth, forcefully pushing her away from the window as he laughs breathlessly, "Don't listen to a word she says." With his other hand he gestures towards the house, "I'll see you inside."

Stefan scoffs in disgust when Lola licks Stefan's hand against her mouth. She winds her window down, hanging out of it, "Ask about the bunny tails! He's got a box full of 'em!"

With a fist full of Lola's leather jacket, Stefan drags his sister back into the car before glaring at her, "Seriously?"

"What? You used to write your victim's names on a wall, I bet you keep something of all your animal victims. Unless you give them names and write them on a new wall." With pursed lips Lola climbs out of the car, walking around it towards the driver's side as Stefan climbs out of it, "Like, Bugs Bunny, Peter Rabbit, Roger Rabbit, uh..." She comes to a halt, flashing fake concern to her brother who is unamused, "Please tell me you haven't killed Thumper."

Stefan clicks his tongue, it was obvious in his eyes he was trying not to laugh at Lola's remarks. Even though her humanity was still off, it was obvious that it was like a tonne of bricks had been removed off her shoulders after Thomas' demise. He hoped that this would mean it was one step closer to getting his sister back.

He wraps his arm around Lola, pulling her into a headlock, "You are literally the most annoying person on this planet." Lola pushes him off herself, eyes are wide slightly not expecting something like that from Stefan. He step back, unable to fight back his laughter any more, "Drive safe, okay? I'll come and see you in the city soon."

โ€”โœคโ€”

Tension was thick in the air in New Orleans as both of the Mikaelson brothers were greeted by both parents back from the dead. All day Elijah has spent trying to get the only white oak stake back into his possession to then learn it's in the hands of Davina who brought Mikael back from the dead.

After spending more time in the bayou with Hayley and steering her in the direction of getting her pack on her side, Klaus was then greeted with his mother who was in the body of the last harvest girl, Cassie. The hybrid has been pacing around the courtyard, clutching hold of a half empty glass of bourbon so tightly it was close to smashing in his hand.

"Take any of the rooms on the first floor." Hayley's voice catches his attention as she walks into the compound with several wolves behind her. She gestures towards the staircase for the wolves to go towards before she notices Klaus staring down at his phone barely blinking, "I take it from that sour look on your face that you haven't heard from Lola yet?"

Klaus sighs before rolling his eyes, "That depends...does this count as an interaction?" He holds his hand out, showing Hayley the first response he's received off Lola since she left.

[Klaus:]
When are you coming home?

[Lola:]
๐Ÿ–•๐Ÿ–•๐Ÿ–•

A stifled laughter falls from Hayley's lips, she hasn't seen Lola since before the heretic's humanity was gone and she missed her. Klaus looks over Hayley's shoulder to a few more wolves entering the compound, "I don't see Oliver amongst them. Am I to assume you finished him off?"

"We made a deal." Hayley informs, "He'll pledge his loyalty to Cassie, report back, and tell me everything that he learns."

"Well done!" Klaus smiles proudly towards the fellow hybrid, he told her to take control of her pack and it was obvious everything he said to her deemed useful, "It seems I'm a good influence on you after all."

"Whatever." Hayley rolls her eyes, turning away from Klaus when her eyes brighten and a beaming smile is plastered on her face when she sees Lola walking back into the compound, "You're back!"

Lola takes a step back when Hayley rushes over to her. Sunglasses cover her eyes, hand holding onto the side of her face due to what felt like an aneurysm from Thomas' spell, "And you're unnecessarily loud." Lola frowns, removing her sunglasses and noticing the compound being busier than it usually is and smelling more like dog than it normally does, "Have you set up a shelter while I've been gone? I hope you swung by the pet store and stocked up on flea spray."

Although the heretic's emotions were gone, her whit was still there and hadn't changed. Hayley playfully rolls her eyes, "I've missed you too, Lo." A trio of wolves step into the courtyard looking sheepish. Hayley smiles politely to them, gesturing to the side, "You girls can just go through here."

Lola watches as Hayley escorts the wolves into a separate part of the compound. As she begins to step further into her home she's greeted with Klaus, arms behind his back as he smiles towards her, "How was Mystic Falls? I hope you found the solace you desired by being back in your home town."

"I did."

It wasn't uncommon for Lola to turn on her actress side and this was no exception. She didn't care if Klaus figured it out that she wasn't really in Mystic Falls or not. She didn't feel like it was any of his business where she was so she figured to toy with his feelings towards her and act as though I feel much better after going there. She smiles sweetly at him, her hand softly going against his cheek, "I missed you though. I'll be upstairs."

Klaus smiles down at the ground as Lola brushes past him, heading towards the staircase, "Caroline came looking for you."

He turns to watch Lola half way up the stairs, not even bothering to stop as Klaus steps closer, "She made the shocking announcement that no vampire, no hybrid..." Klaus vamp speeds to the top of the stairs, blocking Lola as his eyes darken, "And definitely no heretic can enter Mystic Falls due to some mystical barrier."

Lola remains silent for a second, staring up at Klaus blankly before she closes the gap between them both, "You look so hot right now. I have an idea...sex!"

His breath catches in the back of his throat, feeling Lola's hands go against his chest and slowly move down his abdomen, "Lolaโ€”"

"I'll even do that thing I only occasionally do." Lola threads her finger through the belt loop in Klaus' jeans, pulling him closer when her eyes sparkle with tease, "Hair goes up but I goโ€”"

Klaus cuts Lola off from finishing her sentence by throwing her over his shoulder. He storms into their bedroom, kicking the door shut before dropping her onto the bed, "Drop the act. I'm not falling for it."

Lola props herself up on her elbows, blowing her hair out of her face, "Skipping foreplay, huh?"

"Where were you?" Klaus' jaw is tightened, glaring down at Lola as he points at her, "Do not lie to me."

"France." Lola bluntly responds with no emotion. She sits up on the bed as she shrugs, "If you want specifics I was in Chรฉdigny."

Klaus' shoulders drop, his jaw turns slack noticing the smug look on Lola's face and knowing exactly what she had done, "You didn't."

"I totally did." Lola boasts as she climbs off the bed, she walks straight past Klaus towards the adjoined bathroom, "I made an agreement with Stefan before he left four months ago that this was always going to happen. Getting Stefan from Savannah was correct..." Klaus cautiously steps into the bathroom, listening to Lola's explanation and watching as she turns the shower on, "We flew to France, played a very quick game of truth or dare that Stefan was really shit at by the way."

Lola shrugs her leather jacket off herself, kicking off her heels, "Met a rather attractive biker who just so happened to only live about an hour out of New Orleans, he gave me a ride to the Wetherby estate where I killed Thomas."

Without even realising Klaus' hands form into fists so tight, his knuckles turn white. Lola notices this as she jumps onto the edge of the vanity, laughing slightly, "You're getting a little hint of green against your cheeks, my love. Funny story actually, Thomas was only back from the dead for five months and he had already proposed to some poor human."

"Perhaps we should take a little step back in your story and go back to the piece of vermin you picked up in a bar."

Lola bites her lip, stopping herself from laughing watching the anger quickly build up on Klaus' face, "You do realise I can have friends that are the opposite sex and not sleep with them, right?" She cocks her head to the side as she shrugs, "As of right now, Scott is the only exception where he is a friend who I've slept with." She hops off the vanity, throwing her hair up into a bun, "Are you going to join me in the shower or give me some privacy?"

Klaus' hands grip around Lola's waist, forcing her to sit down, "Finish the story." His eyes soften for a fraction of a second, feeling hope that one of the main problems going on in their lives was gone for good, "You killed Thomas?"

"Yep and his little girlfriend too." Lola sits back in her seat, crossing one leg over the other as she smirks, "And he's never coming back."

Klaus quickly hides any amusement he may feel towards Thomas' demise as he shakes his head and begins to pace around the bathroom, "You should've told me that was your plan."

"Why should I?" Lola scoffs, "Did you doubt I'd actually be able to do it?"

Klaus stops pacing, his face is covered in conflicting emotions, "You've gone too far this time."

"I'm sorry?" Lola laughs in an exasperated manner as she comes to her feet, "Elaborate. Because last time I checked he was a piece of shit who should've stayed dead a long time ago. But thanks to your mother, he came back." Lola closes the gap between then, her eyes are dark and cold, "Don't you see it, Klaus? Your family is the root of all the problems and I wasn't just going to let you make it even worse. I ended it on my terms."

"You should've discussed this with us both," Klaus begins to raise his voice as his eyes darken, "And together we'd figure out how to end that man's life!"

"Both as in you and Elijah?" Lola raises a brow before everything clicks to her. It has nothing to do with Klaus fearing Lola may subdue to the darkness, it was all about control and he hated that he had no control in how Thomas was brought to an end,

"Oh, I get it now. Killing fourteen witches in one night was all fun and games because you were involved. Creating a wolf army to go against the vampires in this town was all fun and games because it was your idea." Lola closes the gap between them once more, hand going against Klaus' chest before pushing him back, "But the second that I do something on my own? Suddenly murder is frowned upon. Are you really trying to lecture me? Klaus fucking Mikaelson is trying to lecture someone?"

His nostrils flare, anger setting in as he steps closer to the heretic, "Maybe it's because I don't want you to end up like me!"

"Just because you can't control your own demons doesn't mean you can control mine." Lola's jaw tightens, closing the gap between herself and Klaus when her eyes darken, "Haven't you realised that yet, Klaus? You can't control me. It's not my fault that it effects your masculinity when I do whatever the hell I want. That's a you problem."

It was infuriating to Klaus that he wasn't in control in this scenario, Lola's entire attitude infuriated him. He stays silent before storming out of the bathroom, harshly slamming the door behind himself as his breathing becomes ragged. He remains standing on the other side of the door for less than ten seconds before he throws the door open and storms back into the room.

He doesn't give Lola a second to say anything before his hand latches to the back of her neck and he crashes his lips against hers. Her attitude may infuriate him right now but it pulled him in at the same time, unable to not feel intrigued by her. The unexpected kiss made Lola gasp, allowing his tongue entrance into her mouth.

Lola's hands go against Klaus' chest, pushing him away from her as they both break apart completely breathless. Her eyes are hooded as she brushes her lips against his, "Is this what you want?" Klaus closes his eyes, taking in her intoxicating smell of jasmine as Lola turns to the side of his face, "Do you want to be in control of me, Nik?"

Klaus' hands grip against Lola's waist, pushing her backwards until she is met with the wall. He presses himself against her, parting her legs with his knee, "I want you." His voice is a low, raspy tone as his hands traveled down Lola's body to the hem of her dress before pulling it up to rest just above her hips, "All of you."

Within seconds, Klaus pulls the dress clean off Lola's body dropping it to the floor. His lips brush against hers for a second before Lola pulls back slightly to rip Klaus' shirt off him. She wraps her arms around his neck, pulling him closer to her and colliding her lips against his, moving in perfect unison.

Klaus latches his lips against the nape of Lola's neck, his teeth pinching at her skin desperate for a taste of her blood. He can feel the dark veins form underneath his eyes for a second before he is forced to the floor with Lola's magic. He stares up at her in awe, hands slowly moving up her bare legs, "Is this what you wanted? To have me down on my knees in front of you, unable to pull myself away from your addictive yet infuriating attitude."

The way Klaus and Lola worked was indescribable. No one else would understand how they worked, they just did. They were each other's safe place. Anyone was able to see that, even if no emotions were a factor.

With both hands on Lola's hips, Klaus pushes her further against the wall as he presses lips down her bare stomach. Butterflies swarm in Lola's stomach when Klaus drags his index finger along the edging of her underwear before he pulls them down at an agonisingly slow speed. Her eyes roll to the back of her when she can feel Klaus' smirk against her inner thighs. He loved the Lola's body would react to his touch, the soft moans that fall from her lips as he slowly runs his tongue up her inner thigh, the way her back would arch against him.

Coming to his feet, Klaus towers over Lola, his nose brushing against hers before latching his lips onto hers, pressing himself against her. The hairs on the back of his neck stand up as he feels Lola's hands move down his torso, pulling against the top of his jeans.

Klaus kicks his jeans to the side before pressing against Lola again, grabbing hold of her hips to press into his stiffness through his underwear, "Did your little bar friend get you as excited as I do?" Lola sucks her bottom lip in, slowly shaking her head. Klaus hand wraps around Lola's throat softly, "Scott?"

"No."

It took everything in Klaus' being to control himself, hearing Lola's voice turn into a soft whisper that pulls him in. His hands glide up Lola's back softly, "You're mine. Do you understand me?" He unclasps her bra, dropping it to the floor before he guides Lola's hands to the edging of his underwear, "And I'm yours."

He receives a small nod from Lola as she pulls Klaus' underwear down, she brushes her lips against his, "Always."

The hybrid was unable to control himself he towards his love any longer before he hungrily clashing his lips against hers, stepping her back into the hot water running in the shower. He presses her against the tiled wall, his knee spreading Lola's legs apart as his hand grips into her hip, lifting it up slightly.

A stifled loud moan escapes Lola as Klaus pounded into her. Her face pinched and breathing became erratic as he slammed into her again and again. Opening her eyes, Lola sees Klaus admiring how the hot water ran down her chest before her hands go against his face forcing him to look her in the eyes, "Harder."

Klaus presses his forehead against hers as he smirked, pushing himself even further into Lola causing a loud, shaky moan escape her plump lips. His lips press against the nape of her neck, he can feel the veins pumping blood through her beneath her skin, making the dark veins quickly appear beneath his eyes.

Lola nails dig into Klaus' back, she moans feeling his teeth pierce into her skin. Klaus' hand grips against the other side of Lola's neck, using it as leverage as he pounds into her even deeper when he can feel her walls tightening around him. The slight twinge of werewolf venom seeping into Lola's system felt pleasurable making her nails dig into Klaus' skin so deeply she starts drawing blood.

Her breathing becomes heavy, feeling herself growing closer and closer to climax. Her legs start to become shaky as she reaches the end even more. Noticing this, Klaus pulls away from Lola's neck, her blood dripping down his chin before both hands now grip against her hips lifting her up and making her legs wrap around his waist as he goes even deeper. She may be close, but he wasn't done with her just yet.

"Not yet, my love." Klaus mumbles against Lola's lips, she can taste her own blood on his tongue which made her even more desperate to taste his.

Grabbing the back of Klaus' hair, Lola pulls him away from her, tilting his head to the side before she latches her lips against his neck piercing his skin with her teeth. His breath catches at the back of his throat, he groans feeling Lola's teeth against his skin and that's all it took. Their breathless, shaky moans mixed together as the pair came simultaneously.

โ€”โœคโ€”

It wasn't long before the blurred visions flashed in Lola's mind once again from whatever spell Thomas used against her. Every time she closes her eyes, she sees something different; right now being a flock of starlings. The screeching noise from the birds made it feel like nails were scratching on a chalkboard as Lola's hands clutch against the sides of her head.

Maybe there would be a way to stop these visions from happening in her grandmother's grimoire. Lola only manages to walk half way across the courtyard before a blonde vision rushes in front of her, "Oh my god, you're here!"

Slowly opening her eyes, Lola sees Caroline wearing a beaming smile before pulling Lola into a tight embrace, "I've missed you so much! Where were you?" Caroline breaks away from the embrace, her hands staying on either of Lola's arms as her brows knit with concern, "Klaus said you were in Mystic Falls with Stefan but we can't go home right now and I thought Klaus knew that butโ€”"

Lola pushes herself fully away from Caroline, one hand massaging her temple as she walks away, "I've already got a lot of white noise going on in my head right now, I don't need your high pitched voice added into it."

"I need your help." The blunt tone coming from Lola completely goes straight over Caroline's head as she follows Lola into a nearby room, "I need to find Stefan. Elena is going off the rails and is planning to have Alaric erase all the memories she has with Damon and we can't let that happen!"

Caroline's eyes are full of concern and irritation about the entire scenario happening back at Whitmore as she watches Lola not even flash a micro-second worth of emotion before sitting behind a desk within the room. Caroline turns to the doorway to see Enzo following them towards the room staying quiet before the blonde vampire gestures between herself and Enzo, "Stefan needs to come back with us and tell Elena how wrong it is!"

Lola shakes her head, barely paying attention to anything Caroline has just said as the heretic flicks through the grimoire. She clicks her tongue, shutting the book, "I'm sorry..." She hums to herself before shrugging, sitting back in her chair, "Actually no I'm not. But, why does Stefan have to do any of this?"

"Because it's the right thing to do!" Caroline whines in a high pitched voice before she scoffs looking over her shoulder towards the dark haired vampire, "Even Enzo agrees!"

"Well it's not that I necessarily agree, love." Enzo mumbles, leaning against the doorframe, "You just make it seem like there is no other option." He smirked towards Lola, "Nice to see you again, gorgeous."

"I can't believe I used to find you sweet. You're more irritating than Elena ever was." With pursed lips, Lola sinks further into her seat, feet go up and rest against the corner of the desk before pointing a pen towards the blonde, "The old me probably would have played the devil's advocate over this but honestly that sounds like the dullest thing I could ever do."

Caroline's eyes widen as she notices the darkness beneath Lola's eyes, "Your humanity is off." She scoffs, stepping closer to where the heretic sits, "Why would you do that?"

Lola's brows shoot up for a split second before she sighs, "You're really living up to that blonde stereotype. You're already shallow, selfish and controlling so lets add dumb to the mix as well."

Enzo's jaw tightens, he swiftly begins stepping closer to Lola as he anger builds but before he can do anything Lola raises her hand, twisting her wrist slightly. Caroline gasps watching as Lola snaps Enzo's neck with her magic, she kneels beside him looking up at Lola shocked. Lola wears a sinister smile, her cold stare didn't leave Caroline this entire time, "Siestas are making a come back."

"What's going on with you?" Caroline comes to her feet, her eyes are full of hurt towards the girl she classed as one of her closest friends, "I came all this way to see you and you're being a bitch!"

"No." Lola deadpans in a bored tone, she narrows her stare towards Caroline, "You came here because you wanted something. You came all the way here and demanded I help you find my brother, who doesn't want to be found by the way." She slides her feet off the desk, sitting on the edge of her seat, her elbows prop up on the desk, "Did it ever occur to you what is going on in this city right now? Or what's been going on for the past four months?"

"The past four months I've been trying to find a way to get us all back in Mystic Falls! Enzo has been trying to find leads so we can bring Bonnie and your brother back!" Caroline glares towards Lola, her arms fold against her chest as her tone turns bitter, "Something the two remaining Salvatores don't seem to be bothered about it in the slightest."

Lola arched a brow, slowly tilting her head, "Well I've been a little tied up grieving the death of my baby and my brother."

A quiet gasp falls from Caroline's lips as her heart sinks and the guilt becomes overpowering, "Lola, I'mโ€”"

Lola raises her hand to stop Caroline from continuing any form of apology, "I feel like I need to give Elena a hand written apology for calling her the most self centred person I've ever met because you have well and truly knocked her off the podium." She shrugs standing up from her seat, walking towards the bar in the corner of the room, "You can go around acting like the sun and we're all these shitty little planets circling around you but not here. Save that for your preppy, teenage drama fuelled life."

Lola turns to face a guilt-ridden Caroline, she gestures her full glass of bourbon towards the blonde vampire, "You know, even Elena has been keeping in contact over these past four months. Meanwhile you've been having little picnics on the border with your mom, dropping out of college and harassing my brother."

"Stefan never said goodbye, okay?" Caroline practically whispers, staring down at her feet as she shrugs, "He just left in the middle of the night with no explanation afterโ€”"

"After our brother died?" Lola interrupts Caroline whose eyes widen looking directly at the heretic whose face is cold, "Here's an idea, he left to come and see his sister. Are you here because you want to control how Elena grieves or control how Stefan grieves? How would you like them to act? Sit on the edge of the town's border and have little tea parties? Maybe you're more delusional than you're claiming everyone else is. Did that ever cross your mind?"

"I know you don't mean anything you're saying right now. And that's fine. You're hurting." Caroline harshly swallows down the lump in her throat, she blinks away the tears stinging the corners of her eyes, "But the Lola I know who is there for anyone, who is compassionate and one of the best people I've ever met is still in there. The same Lola who even had Damon swear to her that he wouldn't lay a hand on Tyler after everything that happened with you both!"

The glass of bourbon hovers against Lola's lips as she laughs, "Did you think I did that for you?" She shrugs placing the glass onto the bar before she starts circling around Caroline, "I'll admit, Tyler trying to kill me and my unborn child wasn't exactly great. But in a way I couldn't exactly blame him. My baby and I were some of the closest things to Klaus and he destroyed so much of Tyler's life. So why shouldn't he try and destroy Klaus' life too? He's a confident guy, you have to admit."

Caroline's shoulders broaden, her back straightens up when Lola stands in front of her as she shrugs, "There was a part of me that thought by getting Damon to back off Tyler then he would be able to start a new life. Preferably without you." Caroline's brows furrow, jaw slacks slightly feeling offended by Lola's words which makes the heretic scoff, "Oh don't give me that look. Tyler's better off without you and you know it."

The hurt on Caroline's face fades, a placid smile replaces it all as she holds her hands out, "Keep going. I know that everything you're saying to me is just bullshit."

"You know when people get so drunk that they start word vomiting the truth? That's what no humanity is like, Caroline." Lola purposely pushes past Caroline, walking back towards the desk, "You can be in denial that deep down I'm still the same girl who would defend you in seconds but I'm not her anymore. Why do you even want to bring my brother back?"

Caroline scoffs, glaring towards someone who isn't a friend but a stranger, "Because it's the right thing to do."

A hint of a smile twitches at the corner of Lola's lips, she sits on the edge of the desk shaking her head, "No. You want Bonnie back, understandably. But you could easily live with the idea of never bringing Damon back. Which you can't, by the way." She leans forward, narrowing her stare towards Caroline, "Why do you hate him so much anyway? Is his annoying ass ego too much for you?"

Caroline shifts uncomfortably in her spot looking away from Lola. Something Caroline never spoke to Lola about was how she met Damon in the first place, "It doesn't matter why. I don't know why I even bothered coming here."

"You're not the only one. Trust me." Lola hops off the desk, stepping over Enzo's unconscious body, "Make sure you and your little pet are gone by the time I come back in here."

As the heretic walks back into the courtyard, she sees Klaus sitting there pretending to read a book with a smirk on his face, "A little harsh, love. How many other friendships are you planning on destroying?"

"If they keep bothering me then all of them." Lola rests her hands against the table in front of Klaus, glaring down at him, "Eavesdrop on me again and I will gladly go get that white oak off Davina and use it on you."

Klaus can't help but chuckle at Lola's threat, he watches as she walks away from him, "I highly doubt that would happen, sweetheart. Humanity or no humanity, you would never kill me."

"You've gotta admit," Lola shouts back at him as she walks up the stairs, "It would be one hell of a twist."
