Friday's are the best days after a long week, and todays been a good day so far. After spending three hours three times a week at physical therapy, I deserve a night out.

That's why tonight is Ryland's boyfriend Thomas birthday, he and Ryland invited me out with his friends to this really elegant restaurant called, "The Capital Grille" downtown in Austin.

I looked at the clock currently hanging above my refrigerator, the time read 8:30 PM. Which was perfect, cause I needed all the time I could get to get ready. After spending about fifteen minutes in the shower and listening to music, I finally decided to get out.

A few moments later I walked back towards my room, then opened up my closet door to see what I could possibly wear tonight. Since it's November and cold out here in Texas so I guess I'm gonna keep it simple with a nice pair of jeans, nice shirt and boots. As for makeup well I am going out, of course I want to look presentable.

About an in a hour in a half later of getting ready,
I left my apartment and decided to meet my sister and Thomas at the restaurant we're eating out at
for his birthday. A couple minutes I drove the Impala to the restaurant, and parked the vehicle in the parking lot.

I Shut the engine off and took the keys out the ignition, and put them in my purse. I quickly looked in the rear view mirror, checking myself before going in. There was a little red lipstick on my front teeth, licked it away then got out the car.

I walked towards the entrance of the restaurant, once I entered the doorman lead me to where they were, and there was Thomas and Ryland with his two other friends Shane and Katie.

"Sonya you made it." Ryland Said, waving me over.

"Of course how could I pass up a nice night out, Happy Birthday Thomas." I Said, smiling at him.

"Thank you, Sonya you remember my friends Shane and Katie." Thomas Said, as they both gave me quick hugs.

"Of course nice seeing you guys again." I Said, sending them both a smile.

"Hey." Shane and Katie Said

"Nice restaurant, I don't think I've eaten here." I Said

"First for everything right, come on let's all sit." Thomas Said, as we all sat down in our chairs.

"So Tommy, how does it feel to be 29?" Shane Asked

"Feels good honestly another year I'm alive, that's a blessing right." Thomas Said

"Mhm." Ryland Said

"All it means is that your almost 30, so enjoy your 20's while you still can." I joked

"Ha..ha." Thomas Said

"Oh and congratulations on the promotion by the way." Katie Said, taking a sip of a water from her glass.

"Thank you." Thomas Said

"Promotion?, what promotion?" I Asked

"Oh so this week the rumor going around that a few employees were getting well deserved promotions.
So here I was about to clock out from work, until my boss stopped me and asked me to join him in his office." Thomas Said

"Mhm." I Said

"So we're talking and he asked me if I've heard about the promotion's and I said yeah. And that's when he congratulated and gave me the promotion, your looking at the new Marketing Manger for Arrival Corp." Thomas Said, as everyone clapped.

"Wow Marketing Manger..so what you just, manage marketing..?" I Said, as Thomas shrugged his shoulders.

"Yeah pretty much, plus my salary just went up big time so yeah..I'm happy." Thomas Said

"Great, now that my sister's here can we please order I'm starving." Ryland Said

"Yes please." Shane Said

"Okay if we can get a waiter, hey excuse me. We're ready to order." Thomas Said, gesturing to the waiter.

As I looked down at the laminated menu on the table, the waiter approached our table.

"Sorry, so what can I get for you guys?" He Said

As everyone told the waiter their orders, I was having a hard time trying to figure out what I was currently craving. Which was something with cheese, meat and something barbecue.

"Um Miss?" He Said

"Huh?" I Said

"What would you like to eat?" He Said

"Yes I'm sorry, I would like to have the Mutton Keema." He nodded writing down on his notepad, "And one glass of Chardonnay." I Said

"Our Chardonnay is really good, think you'll like it." He Said, smiling.

"I'll be the judge of that." I Said, smiling.

"Okay then, anything else?" He Asked

"Nope." I Said

"I'll be back soon with your orders." He Said

"Thank you." Thomas Said

He picked up all of our menus from the table, I handed him mine. After about 30 minutes of waiting our food finally came, and I couldn't help but dig in since I haven't eaten since 6 and I'm starved.

As we continued to talk amongst ourselves while enjoying our meals, our waiter came back over to our table, he placed down a glass of what appears to be more wine.

"Here's your drink miss, one 1811 Chateau d'Yquem of Chardonnay." He Said

Everyone looked at me, I looked up at the waiter confused.

"Um I didn't order another drink." I Said

"Oh I know, but this is from the nice gentleman in the back." He Said

The waiter pointed towards the back of the restaurant, as I followed his direction my eyes landed in the direction of the man who ordered
my drink.

He held up the glass in his hand, and winked at me.
Now I'm not going to lie, he definitely is very handsome. Dark hair, nice tanned skin, brown
eyes, definitely someone I'd look twice at.

"But I-" The waiter waved me off

"Don't worry he said it's on him, enjoy." He Said, walking away towards the kitchen.

I looked back over at the gentlemen in the back, he lifts his glass and nods over at me. I turn back around to face everyone at the table.

"Okay um..." Katie Said

"I know right can you believe that guy." I Scoffed

"What?, I thought what he did was very smooth." Katie Said

"Of course you do because that's what I did to you." Shane Said, as Katie smiled.

"And look where we are now." Katie Said, as she kissed his cheek.

I picked up the glass and took a sip of the wine, and it definitely tasted expensive.

"Wow, now that's delicious." I Said

"Wait a minute that guy looks familiar, like I've seen him before." Thomas Said

"You've met him?" Ryland Asked

"No..I haven't met him, but I've definitely seen him before." Thomas Said

"So are you gonna talk to him?" Ryland Asked

"Uh..I don't know Ry." I Said

"Come on sis, you're an attractive single female and he's good looking so why not." Ryland Said

"Yeah go for it, I mean what's the worse that could happen right?" Shane Said

"He could be a psycho for all we know." I laughed

"Sonya." Ryland Said

"Guys I'm not going to ask him out. He's busy you know eating.." I Said, as looked over my shoulder.

"Excuses." Ryland Said

"Ry." I Said

"No come on just go for it." Ryland Said

"Ryland, geez why are you pressuring your sister. If Sonya doesn't want to date the guy, she doesn't have too." Thomas Said

"Thank you Tommy," I Said

"I'm sorry..its just that guy not that bad looking he's cute. And definitely someone you would date, I'm just saying..go for it." Ryland Said

Look I'm not saying she's wrong and I know Ryland means well, she just wants me to get back out there. And maybe's right, I just have to take a big step.
A couple minutes later we all paid our respective bills, and we all got up to leave the restaurant.

We exited the place and all said goodbye to each other, I adjusted my jacket as I walked towards
my car, digged inside my purse searching for my
car keys.

But of course they fell out my hands, as I bent down to pick the keys up, this led to the rest of belongings to fall out my purse.

"Fuck." I Gritted, through my teeth.

While I'm picking up some of my stuff, I noticed feet approaching me. I looked up to see the guy who brought me the drink, holding my red lipstick.

"I always said red definitely was my perfect shade." He Said

"Ha ha." I Said, lamely as he chuckled.

"Sorry you need some help?" He Asked

"Nope I'm good.." I Said

He bent down anyways and grabbed some of my stuff, as I picked up the remaining items that was closest to me and put them inside my black purse. He handed me the red lipstick.

"Here you go." He Said

"Thanks." I took it from him, but I noticed something was missing. "Hey you didn't happen to see any-" I Said

"Keys, yeah I have." He Said, twirling the key chain around his finger.

"Thanks." I Said, lending my hand out to grab them but he pulls his hand back.

"Nah Uh." He Said, as I looked at him confused.

"Um excuse me what are you doing?" I Asked

"Oh don't worry I'm not a total weirdo, I'll give you back your keys..eventually." He Said

"Uh no, give me back my keys." I Said, furrowing my brows.

"Sonya that's your name right?" I quirked my eyebrows at him. "I overheard you and your friends talking, so you wanna tell me why you were flashing your eyes back there?" He Said, as I scoffed.

"I wasn't flashing my eyes at you, I was just-" I Said

"Checking me out." He Said, smirking.

"I wasn't checking you, I was checking to see who brought me that drink.." I Said, crossing my arms over my chest.

"Basically checking me out." He Said

"Whatever." I Said

"Don't worry I was checking you out as well." He slowly started walking towards me. "I mean how could I not, you're a very beautiful woman.." He Said, as moved back a little.

"Very smooth, use that on all the other girls?" I Asked

"Only on the ones I really like, and I really liked what I saw in that restaurant." He Said

"Okay um.."

"David." He Said

"David, hi it was nice talking you..but um I have to go home." I Said

"Why you got somewhere to be in the morning?" David Asked

"Yes actually I have physical therapy." I Said

"Oh okay then I'll let you go on your merry way.." David Said

He dangled the keys in my face, but snatched them away before I could get them.

"Dude.." I Said

"If you agree to go out on a date with me." David Said

"What?" I Said

"Go out with me." I scoffed and laughed "What's so funny?" David Said

"This, I mean first you take my keys and now you want me go out with you." I Said

"Yeah." David Said

"No." I Said

"Why not, you got a boyfriend?" David Asked

"No." I Said

God why did I just say that, I basically just gave my self away.

"Good then your single I'm single, let's make it happen." David Said

"What makes you so sure I'll say yes, Mr. David." I Said, crossing my arms.

"Because I'm down to show a girl a good time, and you my friend look like you could use one." David Said

I squinted my eyes at him, shaking my head in annoyance.

"Okay that's it give me my keys." I reached for them, he pulls back. "Dude I'm not kidding around give me my keys." I Said

"Only if you go out with me." David Said, pulling his arm back as I reached for it.

I sighed in annoyance, since this guy isn't going to give me my damn keys. I'll play along.

"Alright I'll budge." I Said

"What?" David Said

"Fine I'll go out with you." I Said

"Oh don't do me any favors." David Said

"No I want to." I Blurted

"Really?" He Questioned

"Yeah I-I want to go out with you, really." I Said

"All right then, here you go." David Said, lending his hand out as I took the keys from him.

"Thank you." I Said, using my keys to unlock my car.

As I got inside the drivers side of the Impala, David took out a pen from his jacket pocket.

"Here, so I don't forget your number." David Said

"Fine if it'll get you to leave me alone." I Said

I took what appeared to be my pen, and wrote down my phone number. Why the fuck am I giving this guy my number, am I truly ready.

"There you go." I Said

"Thank you, expect a call soon." David Said

"Soon?" I Said

"Yeah I'm a busy guy, but I mean it..expect a call from me." David Said

"Yeah sure." I Said, in disbelief.

"Okay I'm gonna let you get out here, night Sonya." David Said, as he winked at me.

"Goodnight." I Said

David walked away from the car, I put the keys into ignition as the engine turned on. Then pulled out the parking lot and got back out on the road, driving back home.

About a week later after Thomas birthday dinner, I went on about my life. Going to physical therapy, focusing on my self well trying to at least. And still no call from you know who.

I opened the door to my apartment and the sound of my phone ringing echoed throughout the room. I walked over, picked up the phone answering it.

"Hello?" I Said

"Hey Sonya." Amy Said

"Amy oh it's so good to hear your voice." I Said, smiling.

"I could say the same for you, I miss you on the road.
Matt and Jeff says hi by the way." Amy Said

"Tell them I said hey, so how was thanksgiving with your family?" I Asked

"Oh it was fun, being around my brother and parents felt good. Haven't seen them in months, so it was good. What about you?" Amy Said

"Oh you know it was nice, the whole night I was just entertaining my younger cousins and holding my nephew." I Said

"So..any other news?" Amy Asked

"No not really." I Said

"So I'm guessing that guy didn't call." Amy Said

"Nope and he's not going to, it's been about a week." I Said, while looking over some mail.

"He'll call, I mean what guy spends an expensive drink on a chick..a guy who's interested." Amy Said

"If he was interested he would have called then." I Said

"You sound kinda bumbed he didn't call." Amy Said, chuckling.

I rolled my eyes at that "I'm not bumbed."

"You sound like it." Amy Said

"You know what Amy?" I Said

"What?" Amy Said

"Shut up." I Said, as Amy started laughing.

"Ooh nice come back." Amy Said

"Oh someone's trying to dial me." I Said, looking at the phone.

"Ooh it could be that David guy." Amy Said

"I doubt it." I Said

"You'll never know." Amy Said

"Bye I'll call you back." I Said

"Bye." Amy Said, as I hung up the phone.

I rolled my eyes at my friend, then looked at the number on the screen. And I immediately didn't recognize the number, I mean for all I know it could be some telemarketer.

"Hello?" I Said

"Hello Sonya."

"Who's this?" I Asked

"You know who." David Said

"Oh it's you, your about a week late." I Said

"I told you I'm a busy guy." David Said

"And what is that you do exactly to make you so busy?" I Asked

"Let's just say I like to travel around, town to town." David Said

"What are you some kind of groupie?" I joked

"Nope more like a guitarist, I'm in a band..maybe you've heard of the band.."The Odyssey"." David Said

"Yeah I've of heard of it, that's why Tommy said you looked familiar." I Said

"What?" David Said

"Nothing." I Said

"Always nice to have a fan." David Said, chuckling.

"Okay whatever." I Said, smiling.

"So about that date?" David Said

"What makes you think I'd still be interested?" I Said

"Because if you weren't, you would have hung up already." David Said

He does have a point.

"True." I Said

"Glad I've got you still interested, so what are you doing tomorrow?" David Asked

"Nothing-" I Said

"Great I'll pick you up then." David Said

"Where are we going?" I Asked

"Don't worry about it leave that up to me." David Said

"Okay then, listen carefully as I tell you my address." I Said

"Okay." David Said

After debating on what to wear for this date I know nothing about, I put on the nicest thing I could find that didn't have a price tag on it. I'm looking down at my watch reading the time, which says 7:30.

Suddenly there was a knock at my door, I walked from my room to the living room. And looked through the peep hole, then opened the door to
be greeted by David.

"Hello Ms.Sawyer." David Said

"Hey." He looked me up and down, grinning. "I didn't know what to wear, so I just threw this on." I Said

"No it's okay, you look great." David Said

"Thank you, and you look nice..in all black." I Said

"Thanks my stylist picked this for me, so shall we." David Said, lending out his hand which I took.

"We shall." I Said

David walked me to the car which was a nice limousine, the driver opened the door for us and
I thanked him as we entered the vehicle.
Finally after about a 20 minutes drive, the
limousine stopped in front of a familiar venue.

"The Concert city music hall, what are we doing here?" I Asked, looking over at David.

"Well Sonya, we're attending a show." David Said

"Really? wait who's playing tonight?" I Asked

"The Foo Fighters." David Answered, as my eyes lit up with excitement.

"No way." I Said

"Way, I'm a friend of the band and they gave me some tickets. So the shows about to start so you coming." David Said

The limo driver opened the door and David got out first, and he lended his hand out as I exited the limo.
We entered inside the venue, David escorted me to our seats which were in a private booth with a great view.

Throughout out the night we continued to make small talk, and ask each other the obvious date type questions. But our attention was mainly focused on the live music that's happening before us.

About three hours later after hearing great music, the show came to an end. David and I left the arena, I adjusted my coat as the cold air hit us.

"Whew." I Said

"I know right, so did you have fun?" David Asked

"Of course I did, I really enjoyed myself..I haven't been to a concert since..last year." I Said

"Now the real question is, did you have fun at this one or the one you went to last year?" David Asked

"Hard to say I enjoyed myself." I Said

"Okay then, so ya hungry?" David Asked

"David it's 11, there's no restaurant's open." I Said

"Who said we were going to a restaurant, I was thinking of us getting something..I don't know Italian." David Said

"Italian hmm..I'm guessing it's probably pizza." I Said, as David smiled.

"Correct Ms.Sawyer." He walked towards the limo, and opened the door for me. "After you." David Said

"Thank you." I Said, getting into the backseat and he followed behind me.

The driver drove the limousine to a nearest pizza shop, and David ordered us a pepperoni pizza with a side of garlic knots. Instead of eating it in the car, we stopped over by a dock near the river.

I took one last bite of my pizza and tossed the crust into the box, David looked at me.

"What your not going to eat the crust, what's wrong with you." David Said

"I didn't want to eat it." I Said

"The crust is everything." David Said

"Well I've eaten two slices so far, I don't think I can eat anything else for tonight." I Said

"Okay then, so Sonya..I've done some research on you." David Said

"Really?" I Said

"Yeah well some people told me some things, like you're a professional wrestler is that right?" David Said, as I nodded.

"Mhm." I Said

"Wow, you're a pro wrestler..what made you want to become one?" David Asked

"Well my brothers introduced it to me, and I've been in love with the sport ever since. I started training when I was 18, and I got signed to the WWF about two years ago." I Said

"So have won any championship's yet or something?" David Asked

"Nope, but when I come back from my injury..I hope to win the women's championship. It's a dream of mine." I Said

"Speaking of your injury, how did that happen?" David Asked

"About four months ago, I got in a car accident turns out the driver who hit me was under the influence and so was I." I Mentioned

"Sorry that happened." David Said

"It's okay, so far recovery is going well." I Said

"When should you be expected back?" David Asked

"Um maybe around spring of 99, hopefully sooner..depends on my shoulder I miss being on
the road." I Said

"I'm on the road all the time, I love being at home." David Said

"Oh yeah, you've asked me a lot of questions now it's my turn." I Said

"Okay go ahead." David Said

"Okay David, first off what's your last name?" I Asked

"Morning." David Replied

"Hmm interesting, I've never met someone with that last name." I Said

"Glad I'm the first." David Said

"Okay when's your birthday?" I Asked

"I was born May 16th 1971." David Said

"Where are you from?" I Asked

"Lynchburg Virginia." David Said

"So your a southern boy, nice to know. So what family got any siblings?" I Said

"Yup I got a brother and a little sister, parents are alive but divorced." David Said

"Are you guys close?" I Asked

"My parents get along for the sake of us, but my siblings and I yeah were close. What about you?" David Said

"Yeah my brothers, sister and I were close. As for
my parents, they are still married." I Said

"Hmm." David Said

"So when is your next show, since your a rockstar and all?" I Asked

"Well we have a show coming up in December, about a week before Christmas and then we'll have the holidays off. But I'm excited because we're playing in Vegas, going to be a great weekend." David Said

"That sounds fun." I Said

"You should come, I wouldn't mind the company." David Said

"Oh yeah me coming to Vegas with you and your band. Do I look like a groupie." I Said, laughing.

"No your way too hot to be a groupie, besides..I just wanna hang out with you more." David Said, as he moved closer to me.

"Well we're hanging out right now." I Said

"Yeah." David Said

David and I shared a look, but then I saw his eyes look down at my lips. His face leaned closer towards mine, ready to kiss me. But I pulled away, before he could.

"David.." I Said

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have.." David Said

"No it's not your fault." I Said

"I made you uncomfortable didn't it?" David Said

"No if I was uncomfortable I would have told you by now, it's just.." I Sighed looking at the ground, he lifted my chin up.

"What's wrong Sonya?" David Asked

"It's just I haven't kissed another guy in about a year, since my ex." I Said

"Oh did you guys just recently break up?" David Asked, as I chuckled to myself.

"No we broke up about six months ago, and I still-"

"Have feelings for him." David Said

"I guess." I sighed, running my fingers through my hair. "It's not like I want to feel this way, but I can't get him out of my head..." I Said

"Well if you want some advice on getting over your ex, I'd say you confront him." David Said

"What? No." I Said

"Why not, it's obvious you have a lot to say to him still...and who knows maybe that's just what you need to move on. Did you ever get the closure you wanted from him?" David Said

"No..when we broke up, we just parted ways..haven't spoken since." I Said

"Sonya..I think maybe you need to speak with him." David Said

"David.." I Said

"Look you think I want to talk about your ex on your date no, but I can tell you're a sweet and fun girl who's just ready to be free...and there's just something holding you back. And it's him, you just gotta let go." David Said

"Mhm..you're right." I Said

"And whenever you decide to let him go, you give me a call alright." David Said

"Please you'll probably move on by then." I Said

"True, but for you..I'd drop any girl I'm talking to just to be with you. Because there's something here, and you know it." David Said

"How can you tell it's only been one date?" I Asked

"Sometimes you just know right." David Said

"I guess." I Said, David looked down at his watch and stood to his feet.

"Okay it's official 12:30 and a new day, I don't know about you but I'm beat." David Said

"Yeah I'm pretty tired." I Said, rising to my feet.

"I had fun Sonya." David Said

"Can I be honest I wasn't expecting to have fun with you, but I did and I'm happy I did..even though you waited a week to call me." I Said

"But you still answered." David Said

"Shut up." I Said, as he laughed.

"Alright, you ready to head home." David Said

"Yep, take me home." I Said

"Let's go." David Said, as he walked me to the limousine.

The ride home back to my apartment was quick, I thanked the driver and gave David a kiss on the cheek. He watched me walk to my apartment, and drove off once I entered, I'm not gonna lie..I kinda want to go on a second date with that weirdo.
