Gemini stood in front of the full-length mirror, examining herself. Formal, but not too flashy, yet not too simple. Perfect. A knock on the door at precisely 19 00 alerted her to Aries outside her door. The moment she opened the door, Aries shoved past her and sat down on her bed.

He was dressed in a blood-red tunic with black embroidery and leather pants. His hair was neatly combed back and a gold crown studded with bloodstones was nestled nicely on his head. He looked very handsome...like a prince.

Meanwhile, Aries was looking at Gemini and he thought he had never seen such a beautiful woman before. Sure, the other female Zodiacs were gorgeous, but in his eyes, Gemini was the most gorgeous of them all. Now he understood how Scorpio, Capricorn, and the others felt with their wives and girlfriends.

Gemini wore a long shimmering white dress that shone whenever she moved. He never really noticed, but her eyes sparkled like champagne in a glass held in the light. It was a unique golden colour that went well with her dark hair and gold jewellery.

He couldn't help but stare at her painted lips as he thought back about the time they had spent together. They had more or less faced the challenges as a team. Well, maybe not as a team but he did help whenever he could. At least he thought he did. And he still couldn't get rid of the thoughts that ran through his head whenever he saw her. Or the way his heart sped up. All he wanted to do was...

Without thinking, he leaned in and kissed her. To his surprise, she grasped his face and kissed him back. When they finally pulled away, Aries panted, "I've always wanted to do that."

"Me too," Gemini whispered. "I've liked you for a while..."

Aries couldn't stop the stupid grin from forming on his face. Oh, how her words made his day.

"And you have no idea how long I've liked you as well," he grinned.

Glancing at the clock, he quickly fixed his appearance and Gemini did the same. At the same time, he quickly briefed her about the coronation events and protocol.

Gemini looked around in wonder. The gardens had been fixed up beautifully and at the end of the gardens, overlooking the ocean stood a large birdcage gazebo decorated with ivy and wisteria. At the gazebo, the ten gods stood in formation and the various officers stood on either side of the gazebo.

On the leftmost stood Taurus, the Goddess of the Earth and Wilderness. She wore a circlet of sapphires on top of her dark brown hair that hung around her in perfect ringlets. Her dark skin was bare of makeup or accessories save for a red poppy tucked behind her ear. She wore a forest green dress with a belt made of woven branches and hanging from her belt was a bullhorn. But the most striking thing about her was her septum piercing.

Beside Taurus stood Cancer with a circlet of emeralds shaped like two crab claws encircling her head and a bracelet of white roses around her wrist. She wore a silvery dress that mirrored the colour of her eyes. She was the Goddess of the Moon, Night, and Emotions after all.

Meanwhile, Leo, the God of the Sun, Light, and Day, shone like the sun at noon. Everything from his crown to his hair to the necklace around his neck to his tunic was gold. Even his eyes were flaming like the sun. If that was how he looked when he was happy, Gemini had a feeling that she would not like to see him when the inner lion was released. From the Museum exhibitions, she heard that it was very scary.

As for Virgo, the Goddess of Health and Fertility, she looked like every boy's dream girl with her youthful, clear skin and red lips. Around her glossy black hair sat a circlet of carnelians and her eyes glistened like two drops of honey that matched her lilac dress and gold jewellery.

Libra had cleaned up nicely and a crown of chrysolites sat nicely on his brown hair. He wore a new ivory tunic and black pants. His rings seemed to shine more brightly.

On his other side stood Scorpio who was looking at Pisces on the very right of the gazebo. He looked like one of those hot emo bad boys on earth. If he ever went to Earth, Gemini was sure he would have the whole female population after him. Scratch that, the whole population would go to war if they ever saw the gods.

He wore a tunic of black and gold and black pants. A crown of beryl sat nicely on top of his slightly mussed hair and Gemini wondered if it was on purpose. He had deep red hypnotising eyes and an air of mystery surrounding him. He really was the God of the Dead, Death and Regret.

As for the God of Hunting and Archery, he looked like he every bit the part with dark skin and a bow and quiver slung over his back. The only sign that Sagittarius was a god was the crown of citrines and the silk magenta tunic.

Aquarius walked past Gemini and took her place between Sagittarius and Pisces. For a moment, Gemini thought she was going to float away with her being the Goddess of Life and Air. And she looked like she was floating with her silvery blue dress that flowed around her. It looked as though the only reason she hadn't floated away yet was the circlet of garnets around her head.

Last but not least was Pisces, the Goddess of the Sea and Sorcery. Waves of Silvery white hair flowed from beneath her circlet of amethysts. She wore a navy blue gossamer dress with a gold belt and on her left ring finger sat a simple gold ring with some engravings.

"Remember what I told you," Aries muttered before he took his place beside Taurus.

"Gemini," Ursa Major boomed, "approach the Council."

Gemini timidly approached the gazebo, stopping in front of the Ursa sisters. Ursa Major inclined her head in greeting as Ursa Minor stepped forward, holding a velvet cushion that carried a crystal ball.

Ursa Minor was not only an accomplished official but also a sorceress. She was able to channel her magic into a crystal ball, creating a device that was able to detect the powers of the different celestial citizens. However, only she can interpret the results.

Taking a deep breath, Gemini gingerly touched the crystal ball and she felt a rush of electricity flow through her as light exploded out of the crystal, blinding her. Slowly, the light died and Ursa Minor opened her eyes.

"Gemini, Goddess of Twins and Dualist Bonds!" she cried out, her voice echoing throughout the silent gardens.

Ursa Major lifted the circlet of gold and pearls onto her head as everyone bowed down before her. At that moment, Gemini realised what the fourth trial was for.

Why those stupidly smart gods, she thought fondly.

Her eyes met Aries' who winked at her as the crowd stood up and broke out into a thunderous applause.
