▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅

CHEERS FILLED THE STILLTENTS THAT WERE ALL CONNECTED TOGETHER, FOR THE FREMEN AND THE TWO TO REST IN AFTER THEY HAD WON THE FIGHT. THE EXCITMENT WAS ALL AROUND THROUGH THEM, ALL CELEBRATING THEIR SUCCESFUL RAID. One of the Fremen males was stood up, raising up arms up above his head as he cheered along with everyone else, and clapping followed behind it.

(Y/N) was sat in between Paul and Chani on the comfortable floor on the tent, her face in a bright grin looking at everyone's excited expressions and energy. Some of them were clapping directly for her also, and sent her grateful looks that she responded back with a warm smile, feeling happy herself.

Paul had one of his arms wrapped around her waist as they celebrated, and would squeeze from time to time, or would press his nose into the side of her forehead. She giggled a bit when he nuzzled his hair against hers, and felt butterflies in her stomach spotting the beaming, toothy smile over her boyfriends mouth.

Stilgar told his fellow people to calm down from yelling so much, and now it was complete silence inside as he wanted to talk, "We saw what they did." He speaks in his mother tongue eating some food, his blue eyes strained on the couple smiling at each in front of him, "She used it. And she has clairvoyance, even more then him."

(Y/N) looked up from kissing her boyfriend's cheek hearing Stilgar's words, and tilted her head to the side confused. She tensed a bit when Shishakli went to tease use her fingers to mess around with the bottom of her hair, making sniffing noises.

"The Shai-Hulud smells like her." She jokingly spoke to her people still holding the side of (Y/N)'s shoulder, causing her to laugh loudly along with a few others around her, not knowing yet that she wasn't actually far off from being correct.

Paul was one of the few who didn't find it amusing for picking on his girlfriend, but instead scowled annoyed and tugged her closer to his side in a possessive and warning way. She just shakes her head with a small smile, and rests her head against the side of his shoulder, tapping her fingers along his veiny hand on her waist.

With one sharp look from Chani however, the Fremen girl stopped her laugher and shrugged a bit nervously at the sudden glare from her best friend. Chani sighed through her nose, before looking to the couple a bit curiously, "Who taught you two to fight like that?"

Her (E/C) eyes droop a bit sadly remembering who actually did, and it had her shuffling in Paul's arms a bit uncomfortable. That wound was still sensitive, and she didn't think she would be getting over it anytime soon. It made her heart clench even thinking about it.

Paul rested his warm lips against the girls forehead sensing how she was feeling, and exhaled heavily onto the skin as his hazel eyes move to Chani, "Our old masters. They were close friends." He rasped out gaining a small noise from Chani in understanding, and his arms tightened around his girlfriend as he muttered the next words, "They were massacred, along side my father."

(Y/N) rubs her thumb over the craving inside her quarterstaff's handle, her stomach twisting once again remembering who gifted it to her, and tried to swallow down the tears wanting to escape. Her master, her father was supposed to be here with them, but sadly fate took him away before it could happen.

Her fingers find Paul's that were placed on the inner part of her thigh, and laced them together tightly. She gave him a comforting squeeze hearing his words, rubbing her thumb over his knuckles as he briefly smiled down at her tenderly, knowing they would be fine as long as they had each other.

Shishakli paused her eating from the bowl placed in front of her at the reveal, her face softening a bit realising she judged and mocked the wrong people before even getting to know them. Stilgar caught that look also, and he nodded his head slowly as the noise completely stopped now.

"You've been fighting the Harkonnen's for decades," Paul began to talk again in a more deeper octave, which had (Y/N) shivering a bit hearing it so close to her ears as she was still flushed against him, "but my family has been for centuries."

She took on from his words knowing this was a joint discussing to gain the Fremen's aid, "We both know everything about them. Their habits, their ways of thinking." She continued on staring at all the Fremen individually, before landing back on Stilgar who listened amazed, "You know everything about the desert, and what my abilities can do. You harness the very power of it."

"We can stop them together. Burrow them in the sand where they belong." She leant up a bit from Paul but still kept close to him, her face morphed into a serious glare as she points to the desert outside of the massive tent, "So that this planet can be yours, like it should be once more. All we need to do is combine our forces."

Stilgar hummed in thought, and shuffled a bit in his spot on the floor in front of the two, "What will you have us do?" He asked mostly the girl in a light tone, no gaining an answer straight away which made him add on, "Huh?"

She furrowed her brows in thought glancing away from him, to Paul who was already watching her both in awe and worried to hear what she would say. Her head lifted up to point in another direction, in a way that had some of the believer Fremen's eyes widening, including Stilgar's and Chani's.

"I think.... something is pulling me north." She mumbled out in confusion, dropping the hand in the air she had for it to land back in Paul's hold, "I think we should maybe travel more north, but I'm not sure why." She finished meeting Stilgar's eyes, whose face was a bit unreadable but she saw the intrigued one.

"The more north you go, the more likely is you die." Shishakli pointed out through a bit of a warning, blue eyes flickering up to the other girls face and Paul's, but were only met with the side of them and the back of their heads.

Paul scoffed at that idea, thumb brushing over (Y/N)'s knuckle he held, "Then I will die, but I'm sure my girlfriend won't let that happen nor will I." He began to rasp out in their language, making sure he glared at Shishakil and Chani, "But the others will move on. And they will not stop until all Fremen are free."

"We are here to set your people free." The (H/C) haired girl contuined on once more from her boyfriend, her fingers pointing to her chest where her heart lays as the Fremen's rowdiness spikes up hearing that, "And I promise, I will bring liberation to the Fremen and Arrakis."

A few howls of excitement left the group around them, which caused more to happen from her sudden promise, that was heard by even the desert itself by how the wind picked up, and gently blow over their tents. Her presence was known, even more so now by all that wanted her dead or her power.

"They deserve to be a Fedaykin." Shishakil speaks up with a small smile, nodding her head in respect to the couple who looked at her in slight suprise, even more so when she added on, "Your girl is already a Fremen, Paul. I see that now."

"Need names, Stilgar." One of the males tells the said one, as he sat behind the one who lead that part of Fremen, and they all heard him humming in agreement with his head down most likely thinking of a few.

He hits his leg a few times in excitement, as he glances over all the Fremen before him, "It's true!" He yells twice in his mother tongue, which had Chani smiling at the pair while he continued to talk to them, "I see strength in you both. Compassion and selflessness in her. Like Usul, and Sureyi."

"He is like the base of the pillar, and she is the material that holds it all together." He rubs his gloved hands together, before motioning to the girl to move towards him first, but he knew Paul would follow along either way, "Come. Come."

(Y/N) looks towards Chani first for reassurance to which she smiled gently, and nudged her head to go over to Stilgar. Paul was the first one to stand up first, and helped his girlfriend up next by grabbing her hand in his, as they walked over to Stilgar and squatted down before him.

Stilgar reached out to grab the girls forearm in his left hand tightly, and he used his other to grab Paul's one so he could talk to them both, "You two shall be known among us, as Usul, and Sureyi. And now a Fedaykin needs a war name. You must choice."

The Fremen repeat back the names he said to the couple in respect and clarification, while they both think for a name. (Y/N) looks to Paul with a raised eyebrow, seeing the small smirk over his lips as he stares back at her, as he already knew what they both should be called.

She glanced to the sand below her boots seeing how it was forming around them a bit, and shaped the outline of her boots figure. Her mind travels back to the sandworm she first saw in the desert, and how it didn't attack her nor did it seem to want to harm her.

"Shai-Hulud." Was the first name that popped out of her mouth, which seemed to cause all the Fremen's breath to hitch in their throats, and she looked back to Stilgar's shocked face, "Shai-Hulud, that's what you call the Makers, right? And Muad'dib, is the small desert mouse?"

Stilgar broke out of his sudden frozen state to hush the growing voices of the Fremen around him, "They are both very wise in the ways of the desert. Shai-Hulud, we worship her as the agent of God whose actions are a form of divine intervention. She makes her own path, just like Muad'dib. They are the one's who point the way. They are very powerful names."

The duo share a quick look with one another at his explanation, and Paul wished he could reach out to take his girlfriends hand to reassurance her, but they were both pulled to stand up suddenly by a quiet Stilgar, who hadn't let their arms go yet.

He squeezed the girls arm gently before he dropped his hold on them, blue eyes gazing over their figures before he stopped to look at (Y/N), "Now, you are our sister." His voice was fond when speaking, using his fingers to brush along her closed eyelids before doing the same to Paul, "(Y/N) Shai-Hulud Sureyi. Paul Muad'dib Usul."

Just as he announced their new names among the Fremen, he went silent for a few seconds confusion them, before he shouted in excitement, and roughly took them both into a sudden hug. She yelped at the contact from Stilgar, one of her arms around his shoulder, while the other held Paul's around his back, as they were both stuck in the congratulating embrace.

Everyone began to cheer for the newly couple now apart of the Fremen, and for their new names that they were given. Chani watches with a soft frown over her brows seeing them all stand up in a line, and begin to embrace the two in a respectful hug, welcoming them into their family.

(Y/N) really didn't enjoy all the sudden attention from them all, and their arms wrapped around her, touching her weapon and whatever part they could of her. She didn't want to be rude or disrespectful, so she just smiled kindly and accepted the hugs from them, even when some would linger too long on Paul or her.

A few of them whispered her new name also into her ears, causing her to chuckle warmly in response and pat their back, or she vocalised her thanks for how the Fremen were showing the two such kindness, even when they didn't need to.

Her arms unwrapped around the Fremen that was hugging her, and she looked up to find Chani's blue eyes staring right at her. And only for a second, her face felt a bit flush at the look from the Fremen girl, and held out her arms in a reassuring sign for her.

Chani walked forward silently to place her arms around (Y/N)'s shoulder, and lower back, pulling her a bit flushed against her own chest which had the latter squeaking a bit in surprise, and wrapped her arms around Chani's back softly.

"Sureyi." She whispered just next to the girls ear, pulling back a bit to spot the scowl on Paul's face watching them before she glanced to (Y/N), their faces a few inches apart and gave her a small smile, before she walked away to join the other Fremen.

THE DESERT WAS ALWAYS THE MOST WARMEST WHEN THE SUN WAS SETTING, IT SHOWED ITS MOST UNIQUE ASPECTS OF IT THAT WERE NORMALLY NOT SEEN TILL THE SUN SET. And this as proven when Stilgar was currently riding a sandworm, using the gear that was clipped onto the worm's skin, and held on tight as it travel through the sand with him on his back.

His figure was speeding past behind a large dune on the worm, creating sand and dust that flew up around him but luckily he had googles and material around his face to protect him from getting those in his eyes or face.

Sitting on the dune up high, and a few meters away from where he was, (Y/N) had her stillsuit still placed on her but didn't wear the mask and breathing tube. She watched the male ride the worm through the desert amazed, a wide smile across her lips as she did so.

Paul was supposed to be beside her on the sand, however he was told by Stilgar to help set up their stilltent for the night again, and to let the girl have her own moment with the desert.

He didn't like that idea of leaving his girlfriend, but he was reassured a little when he still could see her from his spot near the tents, which means he could notice everything that happens.

"Stilgar!" She shouted out in excitement, waving her hand in the air to gain his attention as she saw him raise an arm back to greet her, and yell back something in Fremen language, continuing on traveling on the back of the worm.

When he disappeared somewhere in the desert on the creature, a heavy sigh escaped her lips glancing down at the staff in her hands, the very one Duncan gave to her. A sad smile crosses her lips, rubbing her thumb over the indent on the handle that he left the first time he tried to use it.

"I hope you're proud of me, dad." She whispered, her voice carried away by the wind that danced through the dunes. She squeezed the weapon tighter, a silent promise to honor the memory of her father figure, wherever he may be now. A bittersweet smile touched her lips as she thought of his teachings, his wisdom, and the strength he had instilled in her.

As she closed her eyes, letting the desert breeze ruffle her hair, she felt a familiar presence, almost as if Duncan, her mentor, were reaching out from beyond.

But then, in the midst of that serene moment, a sudden shift occurred. (Y/N) felt the energy of the desert surge around her, vibrating with an intensity she had never experienced before. It was as though the very air crackled with anticipation, a prelude to something unknown.

Without warning, she was thrust into a vision, her mind's eye opening to scenes of chaos and devastation. Flames licked at the sky, consuming everything in their path with voracious hunger. Amidst the inferno, a figure cloaked in shadow moved with purpose, their hands stained crimson with blood.

Her heart raced as she recognized the weapon they carried, identical to the one she held in her hands. Fear and confusion gripped her as she tried to make sense of the surreal tableau unfolding before her.

In the vision, screams pierced the air, blending with the roar of flames. She heard the cries of the helpless, the anguish of those caught in the throes of destruction. Images flashed by in a blur — births and deaths, moments of joy and sorrow, all intertwined in a tapestry of raw emotion.

And then, as if drawn by an unseen force, her gaze locked onto a pair of glowing (E/C) eyes within the hooded figure's mask. There was a silent exchange, a fleeting connection that transcended the boundaries of reality and vision.

Before she could delve deeper into the mystery of the vision, a sound brought her back to the present — footsteps approaching steadily from behind. In reality, her eyelids fluttered with the intensity of her visions, oblivious to the imminent presence.

As her eyes snapped open with a gasp, the desert landscape greeted her once more, the sun casting its warm glow over the dunes. (Y/N)'s heart raced, her mind reeling from the vividness of the experience, as glanced down at the quarterstaff.

She didn't have time to worry or ponder on what had happened, as she looked to the side spotting Chani coming up to sit next to her, and glanced more back to see Paul putting up their tent. She knew she had to tell him soon, but for now she could push that aside.

"Look, right there is spice." Chani whispered to the girl, leaning over to her a bit as she pointed at the desert below them in the distance, the spice visible through the wind carrying it across, "Arrakis is so beautiful when the sun is low."

(Y/N) glanced at Chani briefly with a small smile, causing her to send a bigger one back as their shoulders graze against each others. Chani takes her chance to talk again, "Where you are from, does water really fall from the sky?"

"Oh, yeah. It really does. Sometimes it rains for weeks." She answered with a chuckle causing Chani to make an impressed noise, and watched as the girl motioned at the desert, "Where you see sand, imagine water. Mine and Paul's home stands on cliffs, near the sea. If you dive in you can't even reach the bottom."

"You dive in?" Chani repeated incredulously, shaking her head as a small laugh escaped her lips and bumped her shoulder playfully against (Y/N)'s one smirking, "I don't believe you, ˈdezərt ˈrōz."

She raised her brows at Chani's end word in Fremen language, and leant forward a bit towards the other with raised brows, "You've called me that twice now." She murmured in curiously, pulling her knee up more to her chest, "What does it mean?"

The Fremen girl spluttered a bit embarrassed, a sheepish look covering her face now as she twist her foot into the sand, "It means 'desert rose'." She mumbled without looking at the other girl, "It's similar to my name's meaning, 'desert spring'."

"Well, I think it's cute." (Y/N) gushed out shrugging her shoulders innocently, tilting her head to the side to catch Chani's eyes to flickered to hers now, and beamed to her sweetly when she did, "It suits you very well."

Chani playfully scoffed as she clicked her tongue, and kicked some of the sand with her boots, "I prefer Chani. That suits me better,ˈrōz." She grumbled out still embarrassed, before turning back to fully face the smiling girl.

"Eh, both are just as great." She giggled through her toothy grin, placing the quarterstaff over her shoulder and nudged her foot with Chani's comforting, "Do you think Stilgar will teach me and Paul?" She asked pointing to him riding the sandworm in the desert.

"To ride?" The Fremen girl questioned back gaining a nod, which made her snort amused, and tap the side of the other girls head gently, "Yeah you maybe, but not Usul. Only Fremen can do that. Here, we are equal. With no Dukes or anything like that back at your home. Man and woman alike."

(Y/N) snickered a bit spotting the scowl on Chani's face when she talked about her boyfriend, and bent her head down a bit to get closer to the girls face, "I'm sure there's an exception for us, right?" She drawled out dramatically, earning her a small chuckle from Chani who watched her softly.

"Yeah...." Chani whispered through a exhale from her mouth, soft eyes scanning over the girls bright features from the sun shinning down on her, and smiled a little, "Maybe I'll show you the way."

Neither of them knew how close they had gotten to each other's face, not even realising that there was only an inch in between them, and that if one moved, their lips would surely brush. (Y/N) was too busy caught up in the moment of talking, that she didn't pay attention to Chani leaning in, and nor did she seemed to pull back either.

Something was drawing them in to each other for some reason, and the girls didn't snap out of their daze still Chani's nose grazed (Y/N)'s gently, followed by the sound of an angry Paul's voice from below shouting out at them from where he was stood.

"(Y/N)! The tent is done, c'mon!" He waved his arm around to signal for her to come down, to which she did stand up quiet quickly wondering what that just was with Chani. She gave one last look to the Fremen girl who was frowning, before running down to where her boyfriend was waiting, completely missing the dangerous scowl he sent the other girl.

──── ⋆◖◍◗⋆ ────

THE SUN HAD GONE DOWN QUICKLY OVER THE COOLER DESERT, AS EVERYONE WAS NOW SLEEPING INSIDE THEIR STILLTENTS, AND WAITED FOR THE FIRST LIGHT TO GET UP AND MOVE FOR THE NEXT MISSION OR TASK. Inside one of the darkened tents, Paul was twitching around a bit in his sleep dreaming about something, and his breathing was becoming more rapid.

It alerted the girl who was pressed up against his chest now awake from hearing him whimpering, and it had (Y/N) blinking her eyes wide open to see what was happening. She quickly turned her head to her boyfriend, and was instantly leaning over him hearing the noises escaping him.

"Paul, my love. Wake up." She gently coaxed by placing her warm hand onto his cheek, thumb rubbing over his freckled skin as he subconsciously leant into her touch, and fluttered his eyes open at the sound of her voice talking.

He sprang up breathing heavily which alerted her more, and she sat up also beside him, using both hands to cup his face to make him look at her, "Hey, hey. You're okay." She cooed softy, heart clenching a bit spotting how scared he looked in that moment, "You're alright, just breathe baby."

"(Y/N), sweetheart-" He gasped out through a small choked whimper, his shaky hand coming up to touch the side of her head to make sure she was actuality there. His bottom lip trembles a bit in the dark, and his forehead falls against hers for a few seconds, trying to reassure himself more.

She cooed at him with a soft kiss against his top lip, and then two more on his nose, "I'm here, I'm right here." She whispered running her fingers through his curly locks, her back pressed on the floor as he leans over her, "It's been a while since you've had those visons. Wanna tell me what it was?"

He hummed low in his throat, nuzzling the lower side of his face into her palm and presses his wet lips onto the skin also to leave a tender kiss. He keeps his mouth against her skin, as he exhales shakily onto it which sends shiver down her spine, and tries to keep her raging emotions in check.

She watched him closely when his haze eyes go to flutter shut again, him trying to remember what had happened in the so called nightmare, "Nothing is clear, only fragments. We're in the south, and we're following someone." He tells her, voice muffled by her palm as he speaks into it, "And it triggers a Holy war. Millions and millions of people starving to death, because of me. Because of us."

His haze eyes that were blue before coming onto the tent looks into her wide ones, and he brings her hand down from his face to squeeze it gently, "That won't happen though, baby." He rasped reassuringly seeing her scared face, and pressed a his lips onto her forehead, "I won't let you get involved nor go down that path with me."

I think I may already be on it.... she thought to herself with closed eyes for a few seconds, remembering the vision she saw while sitting on the dune, and the moment she spent with Chani. Ever since a weird feeling would bloom thinking about it, and tried to ignore it the best she could, as her attention was on the love of her life.

"I know, but I won't let you do this alone, Paul." She whispered placing her hand onto his cheek again, dragging her fingers up the side of his face to run them through his messy locks as he leans into her touch, "Together, right?"

His brows furrowed a bit remaining silently, before he leant down over her upper half to rub the tip of his nose against hers, "Together. You and me." He breathed out staring into her soft eyes lovingly, before pressing his lips onto hers for a fierce kiss, making her move hers with his automatically in sync.

One of her hands romand around his chest, and lifted up his cloth like shirt from the bottom a bit to run that hand along his abs, causing him to moan softly into her mouth, and gently bite onto her bottom lip. His hands were placed on either side of her head, as he titled his head to the side to make the kiss deeper, lips still moving against one another's.

She hummed a bit into the kiss feeling his growing facial hair right above his top lip tickle her, and was the first one to pull back, despite him chasing after her lips for me. She giggled softly when he nuzzled his face into the side of her neck, and placed one hand onto her stomach, palm laying flat on it.

"'Ana 'uhibuk jdaan." He whispered against the skin of her neck in Fremen mother tongue, it being muffled by it again as he pushes his face more into the crock of her neck, and sighs contently as he knew he wouldn't get moments like this with her for a little while after now.

She smiled against the side of his temple, pressing her lips onto that skin also as she nuzzles her nose into his curly locks while brushing through them, "I love you more." She breathed out softly placing her hand behind his head, savouring the close contact while it lasted, "'Ana 'uhibuk jdaan."
