๐”ธ๐•Š the night settled over the quiet town of Forks, the Swan sisters were lost in their slumber, each wrapped in their own world of dreams. Rain lay comfortably in her bed, the warmth of the blankets cocooning her as her mind drifted. Yet, her dreams were vivid, almost tangible, as if she were truly there. She found herself standing in a vast, snow-covered landscape, the cold air biting at her skin. The world around her was silent, save for the soft crunch of snow under her feet as she walked. In the distance, a white wolf appeared, its fur blending seamlessly with the snow, yet its presence was unmistakable. It was tall, majestic, and beautiful, standing out against the backdrop of the winter wonderland.

The wolf turned its head, its piercing eyes locking onto hers. Rain felt a strange sense of recognition, as though she had known this wolf her entire life. Then, a voice, clear and melodic like a song carried on the wind, whispered to her, "I found you." The voice was strong, yet soothing, filling her with a sense of comfort and belonging that she had never known before. The words echoed in her mind, reverberating through her very soul, as if they were meant just for her.

Rain's eyes flew open, her heart pounding in her chest as she stared up at the ceiling of her room. The glow-in-the-dark stars she had placed there years ago were softly illuminating the darkness, but they did little to ease the lingering emotions from her dream. The image of the white wolf, its voice, its presence, was still so vivid in her mind that she could almost feel it beside her.

But then, something else caught her attentionโ€”voices. Muffled, yet distinct, they were coming from Bella's room. Along with the voices, there was a scent, one that was unmistakably that of a wolf. Rain quickly got out of bed, her curiosity piqued, and made her way to Bella's room. She hesitated for a moment at the door, then quietly pushed it open.

Inside, she saw Bella and Jacob, locked in an embrace. Jacob's voice was low, almost pleading, as he spoke to Bella. "Please. Try to remember. It'd be so much easier if you knew."

Bella pulled back slightly, looking up at Jacob with a mixture of confusion and determination. "I'll try. But Jake..."

Jacob turned his gaze from Bella to Rain, his eyes softening as they met hers. He stepped away from Bella and walked over to Rain, wrapping her in a warm hug. "Welcome to the pack, Rain. We've got your back, no matter what. You're one of us now, and we'll always protect you."

Rain felt a wave of warmth wash over her at Jacob's words, a sense of acceptance and belonging that filled the emptiness she hadn't realized was there. As Jacob pulled away, he gave her a reassuring smile before turning back to Bella.

With a determined look, Jacob walked toward the window, but Bella's voice stopped him. "Jake, what are you doing? Wait, Jake!"

But Jacob didn't respond. Instead, he opened the window and, with a fluid grace that seemed almost impossible for someone of his size, leaped out. He landed lightly on his feet, like a predator in its element, and looked up at Bella one last time before disappearing into the shadows of the night.

Bella stood by the window, staring after him in shock, her expression a mix of surprise and concern. Rain, still standing by the door, watched her sister for a moment before silently retreating back to her own room.

As Rain lay back down, the dream returned, the white wolf walking in the snow, its eyes locked onto hers. But this time, the dream shifted, the image of the wolf fading, morphing into that of a man. Erian. His presence was as strong and comforting as it had been when he was in his wolf form, and Rain felt her heart flutter at the sight of him. There was something about him that called to her, something that she couldn't quite place, but it was undeniable.

As Rain drifted deeper into sleep, the vision of Erian stayed with her, his image melding with the words that had echoed in her mind earlier: "I found you." And as the night wore on, Rain knew that she had found something tooโ€”something she hadn't even realized she was searching for.

The next morning arrived with the first rays of sunlight peeking through the curtains, casting a soft glow over Rain's room. She slowly began to wake up, still groggy from her strange dreams. The lingering image of the white wolf and the man who had taken its place in her dreams stayed with her, like a half-remembered song. She blinked up at the ceiling, where the glow-in-the-dark stars from her childhood still shone faintly.

Before she could fully gather her thoughts, Bella burst into her room, dressed and ready for the day. "Come on, we're going to see Jake," she announced loudly, her voice cutting through the peaceful silence.

Rain groaned, pulling the covers over her head in protest. "Can't we do this later?" she mumbled from beneath the blankets, still feeling the weight of sleep pulling her back down.

But Bella was insistent, yanking the covers off her sister with more energy than Rain felt was necessary. "Nope, we're going now. Get up!"

With a sigh of resignation, Rain pushed herself up, rubbing the sleep from her eyes. Bella was already halfway out the door, her urgency palpable. Rain couldn't help but wonder what had gotten into her sister to make her so eager this early in the morning.

As she got dressed, Rain's mind wandered back to the previous nightโ€”the dream, the strange connection she felt with the white wolf, and the brief, somewhat cryptic visit from Jacob. The memory of his words, whispered warmly in her ear, still lingered. He had welcomed her to the pack, acknowledging her as part of their world now. It had been both comforting and unsettling, a reminder that her life had irrevocably changed.

Dressed and somewhat more awake, Rain joined Bella in the kitchen where a quick breakfast was waiting. Bella was already sipping her coffee, her foot tapping impatiently against the floor. "You ready?" she asked, eyeing Rain with a mixture of excitement and impatience.

Rain nodded, grabbing a piece of toast as they headed out the door. The morning air was cool and crisp, the sky a pale blue as the sun continued its slow rise. The drive to Jacob's place was quiet, with Bella focused on the road and Rain lost in her thoughts. She still wasn't sure what to make of everything that had happenedโ€”the argument, the dreams, the growing sense of something bigger looming on the horizon.

As Rain and Bella arrived at Jacob's house, Bella marched determinedly to the door, with Rain trailing behind her, trying to reason with her. "Bella, maybe we should give Jacob some time," Rain suggested, her voice laced with concern. But Bella ignored her, focused entirely on her mission. She knocked on the door with a sense of urgency that made Rain sigh in resignation.

A moment later, Billy Black opened the door, his expression shifting between curiosity and concern. "Bella. Rain," he greeted them, his voice warm as he noticed Rain smiling and waving at him.

"I need to see him," Bella stated, her tone leaving little room for argument.

Billy paused, considering her for a moment before he replied, "He's not in."

Bella didn't hesitate, pushing past him with an apology that sounded more like an afterthought. "Look, I'm sorry, I really need to see him."

As she marched inside, Rain gave Billy a sheepish look and shrugged. "Sorry, Billy. You know how she is." She offered him a half-smile before following her sister into the house.

Billy watched them go, calling after Bella with a sarcastic tone, "Sure, just make yourselves at home. Don't mind the door; it doesn't have feelings or anything."

Rain couldn't help but chuckle at Billy's dry humour but quickly focused on catching up with Bella, who had already started searching the house. When Bella opened a door to find Jacob deep in slumber, the scene might have been peaceful if not for the tension in the air. Bella stepped closer to the sleeping figure, but before she could do anything, a distant, mournful cry caught the sisters' attention.

Both Rain and Bella turned toward the window, their eyes drawn to the sight of Sam and his pack gathered outside. The animalistic cry echoed again, reverberating through the stillness, and Rain felt a strange pull in her chest, as if her very heart was reaching out toward them. Her gaze lingered on the group, particularly on one figure, and she felt an inexplicable connection that left her breathless.

Bella, however, was far less serene. She glared at the group with rising anger before storming out of the house, her fists clenched. Rain hurried after her, trying to stop what she knew was coming. As they approached the pack, Rain grabbed Bella's arm, her voice firm and steady. "Bella, please, don't start anything. Let's just hear them out first."

But Bella shook off Rain's grip, her frustration boiling over. "What did you do? What did you do?" she yelled at Sam, shoving him with all her might, though he didn't budge an inch.

"Hey!" Paul barked, stepping forward as his temper flared.

Erian's gaze sharpened, disapproval flashing in his eyes as he watched Bella's aggressive behavior toward his Alpha. "Easy," Sam ordered, his voice calm but commanding, trying to defuse the situation.

"He didn't want this," Bella shouted, her voice raw with emotion. She turned her anger on Paul, her words frantic.ย  Paul, his anger barely contained, took a step closer. "What did we do? What did he tell you?" he demanded, his voice rising. But before he could get any closer, Erian intervened, grabbing Paul's arm and pulling him back.

"Both of you, calm down," Erian warned, his voice low and firm, though his attention kept drifting back to Rain. As their eyes met, the world seemed to slow, and the chaos around them faded into the background. There was something profound in the way their gazes locked, a connection that felt both ancient and new. For Rain, it was as if she were being swept away in a current, but instead of fear, there was only a deep sense of belonging, of being exactly where she was meant to be.

Erian's heart raced, but his expression softened as Rain gave him a small, tentative smile. It was a moment of pure understanding, something unspoken passing between them that left his chest tight with emotion.

Rain tore her gaze away from Erian and stepped between Bella and the pack, her voice firm but gentle. "Bella, calm down. Let them explain before you jump to conclusions. There's more going on here than you understand."

Bella, still seething, glared at Rain, her frustration bubbling over. She shoved her sister aside, but before Rain could stumble, Erian was there, his arms catching her and holding her close. He glared at Bella, his body tense as he fought to keep his temper in check, his wolf instincts threatening to surface.

"Nothing. He tells me nothing because he's scared of you!" Bella shouted at Paul, her anger making her voice tremble. Paul's response was a humour laugh, and before anyone could stop her, Bella slapped him hard across the face, the sound echoing through the air like a gunshot.

"Shit," Erian muttered under his breath as he tightened his grip on Rain, pulling her away from the brewing conflict. His protective instincts were in overdrive, every fiber of his being focused on keeping her safe.

Paul let out a low growl, his fury barely contained as Sam struggled to keep him calm. "Bella, get back!" Sam ordered, his voice sharp with authority, but Bella didn't listen, her anger blinding her to the danger she was putting herself in. Jared, who had been watching the scene unfold with a smirk, finally spoke up, his tone almost amused. "Too late now," he said, his words carrying a hint of inevitability as the situation spiraled further out of control.

This chapter is a bit long, but I hope you didn't mind and I was listening to the little mermaid playlist when I was writing this. <3ย
