"Who were those people?"
Vanya asked as she kindly took a towel from Allison. Allison shrugged as she sat on the opposite side of Vanya. "I don't know. But we are lucky to be alive. Are you sure you're okay?" Allison asked worriedly to Vanya.
Vanya nodded wordlessly as she wiped her blood away from the side of her head. Vanya looked at you to see the corner of your lip bleeding. "Are you okay, (Y/n)?"
You snapped out of your own thoughts and looked at Vanya and Allison as the two women stared at you worriedly. You nodded as you sat down at a table. "Yeah. Never been better."
"You can fight." Allison pointed out. "How?"
'Oh, brilliant. Time to make a lie again.' You cleared your throat. "Dad taught me how to protect myself. He was a good man until he turned all shitty."
"She was actually pretty cool." Vanya smiled. "It was like Dad also trained her."
You looked around the house before shaking your head and wiping the blood off your lips.
You, Allison, and Vanya turned when Diego came back. He checked on Grace to see if she was okay. From him breathing shakily and heavily, he was probably too late. "Diego?" Vanya asked.
Diego stopped in his tracks to look at you and Allison and then turned to Vanya. "What are you still doing here?"
"I'm just trying to help."
"No, you could've been killed or gotten any of us killed."
"Diego." Allison scolded. Diego to Allison as he pointed to Vanya. "She is a liability."
"Hey," You spoke causing Diego and Allison to look at you. "She's trying her best, alright? She was pretty cool when she dodged that man's first hit."
Diego scoffed at you and turned away while Vanya looked at Allison, hoping for some defense from her own sister. "Allison?"
Allison looked down at Vanya before sighing. "I think what he's trying to say is that this kind of stuff is dangerous. You're justβ"
"Not like you." Vanya finished the sentence for Allison. Seeing Allison was unable to defend her point, Vanya scoffed before standing up and turning to leave.
"No, that's not what Iβ Vanya, wait."
"Let her go. It's for the best." Diego said.
You softly scoffed before standing up to get out but Diego grabbed your arm. You instantly took his hand and twisted his arm causing him to wince. "Don't touch me, you twat."
You let go of his hand and Diego held his arm. "We're not done with you yet. How can you even fight?"
"Am I not allowed to protect myself?" You questioned. "Just because I could fight does not mean I'm a bad guy."
"The two seem to know you."
"And I don't know any weak strangers, alright? They mean nothing to me." You lied as you turned around and were ready to leave until Diego asked another question. "Who are you, really?"
You stopped and turned to him and Allison. You wanted to tell them that you're Red: an assassin who works for the Commission. A woman who's stuck in her 15-year-old body. An assassin whose mission is to kill their brother. But at this point, with the coincidences and signals of your past, you don't know. "I don't know." You simply said before walking out.
You followed Vanya who was outside of the Academy, waiting for a cab. "Hi." You greeted her as you stood right next to her.
"(Y/n)..."
"Mind if I stay with you for a while?"
Vanya looked down at you, unsure what to say. But she did answer. "Sure."
An awkward silence filled between you both as you two waited for a cab to pass by. "Just so you know, I don't think you're a liability."
"I'm ordinary, (Y/n). I don't have powers like my brothers and sister."
"Even if you are or not an ordinary, your father should have at least trained you to protect yourself. He's really an arsehole of a father, huh?"
Vanya softly chuckled and nodded. "Yeah. Definitely."
"Well, I'm glad he didn't become my father." You smiled. "I would've probably killed him if I didn't control my emotions."
"If you would have powers, (Y/n), what powers would you like?"
You looked up at her before shrugging and raising your hand up to look at it. "I don't know. Hopefully, some powers that won't end the worlβ"
You suddenly saw mist-like shapes briefly appearing in your hand causing you to shake your hand and quickly stuffing your hand on your pockets. You sighed deeply and finally, Vanya got to call a cab.
You and Vanya got inside the cab, just in time when the rain poured down heavily. Vanya then suddenly turned to you. "Look, I won't be staying at my apartment. I'm going... somewhere first. Do you mind staying there at my apartment until I come back?"
You thought for a bit before nodding. "Yeah. I can take care of myself anyway."
"I know." Vanya smiled.

"Are you okay, Harry?" You asked worriedly as you helped him stand up. Harry looked at you and nodded. "Yeah, of course, I am. Why would you ask that?"
"You have a black eye and bruise forming on your cheekbones, Harry. Of course, I would be asking."
Harry chuckled. "I'm okay. I'll go buy some groceries, okay? Maybe you can go with your friend?"
You hesitated and didn't let go of his hand. "I could come with you, Harry. I don't want you going alone."
Your brother patted your head. "I'll be fine. Say 'hello' to your friend for me."
You woke up in an unfamiliar room with a blinding light from outside meeting your eyes. You quickly closed the blinds and sat up. 'I keep on having those strange dreams. I should probably stop sleeping to stop dreaming.' You got out of the bed and you noticed this is Vanya's room. 'Oh, right.'
You went to the bathroom and saw your reflection in the mirror. You scrunched your face in disgust. 'Eugh. How did you like this face, Mich.'
"I love all of you."
"And I love all of you too."
You sighed and washed your face until you felt a stinging of pain in your lower lip. 'Oh, yeah. I fought yesterday. I'm exposing my identity. It's too risky. I have to lay low and find Number Five immediately before those two blithering idiots get to him first.'
You tied your hair, wore your mask, and took your cloak as you pull your hood up. 'So, Hazel and Cha-Cha are still hunting down Number Five. They thought he was at the Academy. If I didn't kill him first, what would A.J. say?'
You looked down at your bracelet to see the time. The bracelet is the only gadget you have. Although it's not that useful, you still wear it all the time. Besides, the bracelet has been with you since you were young and you just upgraded it.
You were about to leave until you heard footsteps. You quickly hid under the bed and saw a man's shoes. You slowly took out your dagger, ready to attack if he ever saw you. 'Who is he and what is he doing in Vanya's flat? It can't be Luther or Diego, right?'
You heard other faint footsteps. 'What the fuck?'
Once the man turned around, finished on whatever he did, you got out from your hiding spot but you saw Allison tripping him with a kick in defense and was about to punch him. You hid in a corner and watched everything.
"Allison! Wait!" The man gasped.
Allison stepped back. "Leonard! Sorry! I thought you were a... umm where is Vanya?"
Leonard stood up. "She's at rehearsal. She... She left her keys at my place last night. I was just returning them."
'Huh. So, if this man never showed up, I would've been stuck in this flat.' You thought to yourself. 'And how is Vanya living on the second floor? Rapists could climb, Jesus.'
"I'm sorry if I scared you." Leonard apologized.
Allison just nodded until she asked again. "So, why are you inside her apartment?"
Leonard leaned against the table as he set his hand down there. "It's kind of embarrassing. I had to use the restroom."
'Really? It's like you were looking at something in her bedroom, creeper bastard.' You huffed softly.
Allison nodded again. "Ah."
"If you don't mind me asking, why are you here?" Leonard asked.
Allison, who was shocked to hear his question, looked offended. "Excuse me?"
"No, it's just... from what I heard, you didn't want anything to do with Vanya yesterday. So, I was just wondering."
'Dude's got a point there but still, it's none of his business. And how does he look kind of familiar... hmm...'
"I don't know why that's your business," Allison said as she crossed her arms.
Leonard stared at her before smiling and nodding. "You're right. Probably not. Uh, it was nice seeing you. I guess I'll just... drop these off to Vanya at rehearsal."
Allison stopped Leonard. "You know what? I'll take the keys to her." Allison held her hand out, waiting for Leonard to give her the keys.
"Sure." Leonard gave her the keys. "Whatever's easiest, right?" Leonard turned to leave and looked one last time at Allison and smiled. "It's great seeing you."
When the man left, you finally showed up and you removed your mask. You leaned against a wall and crossed your arms. "Well, the tension was too big to not be noticed."
Allison jumped in surprise as she turned around to look at you. "(Y/n)! Jesus! How did you get here?"
"I slept here." You shrugged. "Vanya let me stay here for a while until that creep showed up. I was gonna attack him but you attacked him first."
Allison chuckled. "He is acting weird, huh?"
"Please, lads like him who are odd and lookin' perfect end up being creepy anyway or serial killers." You told her.
"It's like you know everything, huh? Like, you experienced encountering men like him."
'(Y/n), you talk too much.' You cleared your throat. "Well, my father's a creep so I should learn something about men, eh?" You lied. 'How many lies do I have to come up with?'
"Do you want to come with me to return these keys to Vanya?" Allison asked as she showed the keys.
You shook your head. "I have to go somewhere. I don't know if I'll be back."
"What do you mean you don't know if you'll be back?"
You opened the door and turned to Allison. "I'll see you when I see you."

Let's just hope that season 3's plot can somehow connect, fit, or at least have a room for the story idea I have for book 3 of FRAGILE and FRAGMENTSβ
