Loud sounds of thunder rumbling and lightning flashing throughout the skies seemed to evade me out of my sleep.

But I was fine with it, me and Brian were still laying on a pallet on the floor near the burning fireplace and I found myself watching him sleep peacefully.

When I wasn't being a mother and even before motherhood this was one of the things I cherished most with my husband. The random acts of kindness, sex in unexpected places, being fully consumed, and in love with each other.

I ran my hand through his long hair before resting it on his chin as I began to think about how happy and lucky I was.

Brian has made me whole and has every key to my heart, every part of me belonged to him.

"What's wrong baby?" He asked sleepily

"Nothing. Can you hold me?" I replied lowly

He then shifted his body, as I laid on my side wrapping his muscular arm around my body with my head rested against his heart.

"I love you, Diana," He said lowly

"I love you too Brian," I replied as he kissed my neck

"So what are you going to do when Meadow and Adeya start bringing home these littl-"

"Hell no." He cut me off making me burst out in laughter

"Why not?" I asked still in a fit of laughter

"Hmm, let's talk about why yes, we have one that looks just like you and one that looks like me. And if they're anything like how we are with sex, I'm going to kill them and whoever they're doing it with."

I continued to laugh in his arms knowing he meant everything he said.

"Trust me, my little bear and twin know better. No boys." He said with a smug look

I wrapped my arms around his neck and teased "They're going to pull a me and marry a man 5 years older than them like I did."

Brian rolled his eyes making me nudge him and say "You are a mess."

"You're a mess if you think I'm going to let them date someone who's like I used to be, just for them to get heartbroken." He concluded

I smiled at his protectiveness and said "They're going to be fine."

"I know because I know how to shoot a gun and not miss." He said with a laugh

"You're so damn crazy." I laughed as he tightened his grip around my waist beginning to playfully shake me and say "And you better not be giving them any ideas."

"Stop Blondie!" I giggled softly hitting his shoulder

He stopped shaking me and laughed before kissing my lips gently, "You excited for tomorrow?" I asked biting my lip

"Yeah. Just missing my baby girls."

I smiled and said, "I miss their little faces too."

"Speaking of tomorrow. Give me your keys so I can go to the store." I beamed

He took his keys from his pocket and handed them to me. Making me kiss him gently, pulling back from the kiss he licked his lips slowly and said "Hurry back."

"I will. Get the table set too, I'm getting Caribbean!" I cheered sliding off his lap

"Love you Sunflower." He said as I made my way toward the door with him on my trail.

"Love you Cookie Muffin," I replied planting another kiss on his lips.

He slapped my ass lightly and watched me get into the car before going back into the house.

I smiled to myself at his mannerisms and then put the key in the ignition and switched the gears before driving off.

I smiled to myself as I walked towards my parking spot coming from the Caribbean restaurant with me and Brian's takeout.

I had gotten him a small cake and a present that I knew he'd love and I honestly couldn't wait for his birthday, definitely couldn't wait to celebrate it with him

My smile began to fade as I saw a slender tall lady at the curb of the street struggling with her car. It sounded like something was up with her fuel relay, whatever it was sounded like an easy fix.

"¿Necesitas una mano?" (You need a hand?) I asked with a smile

She leaned up from the hood of her car and said confusingly "What?"

"You need a hand?" I asked again

"Yeah, I think I do." She said with a bright smile, repositioning her red sunglasses.

"Sounds like you're not getting any fuel," I said walking over towards her truck

"Yeah?"

"I'll see if we can get some power into it. It sounds like an easy fix, probably just the shutoff solenoid." I said sitting me and Brian's wrapped up food down, before reaching down into the hood checking the solenoids.

"What brings you to Barbados?" She asked with a little grin across her lips

"Just a bit of celebrating." I smiled thinking about Brian as I looked over toward her "What brings you to Barbados?"

"Work!" She replied simply

"Must be casual Friday," I said noticing her neutral clothes

"How is Brian's birthday going Duchess?" She said making me turn quickly to face her, wondering how the hell she knows my name, Brian's, or that we are here celebrating.

"Your fuel relay is missing," I said deciding to shake my conscience off

"I know." She replied cunningly lifting the fuel relay fuse in her hand

I laughed sarcastically, watching her every move as she made her way around me to reapply her fuel relay fuse.

"Listen I don't know who you are let alone how you know me, but I love to play games. Beaten some of the bests. But I'm kinda in a rush, so if you got something to say..." I began to warn her before she cut me off

"...Oh this is a very different game that I can assure you...This..? There is something much greater at work here...This is fate." She supposed

"I choose my own fate," I replied vilely

She laughed slightly and said, "Dom said the same thing."

My eyebrow rose as I let her continue to rant as she studied my facial expression "Yeah...I've put a lot of work into meeting you here today."

"What do you want?" I said menacingly

"I want you to work for me." She replied with the same smug little grin

"Work for you?..." I laughed lowly and continued "Well, I could have saved you a lot of time then...See, I don't work for anyone." I concluded beginning to walk away from her

"You can't walk away from this Duch. Dom couldn't and you have too much on this table to walk away as well. We're gonna have this conversation one way or the other." She ranted making me halt in my path and turn back towards her.

"See that's the funny thing about fate...It's cunning. It can bring you beautiful things, and it can also bring you moments like this." She insisted handing me over a phone.

I hesitantly took the phone from her and saw a live recording of Avó and my babies.

I then threw the phone down causing it to shatter and prowled over to her grabbing her by the neck pushing her hardly against her car pulling my gun holding the deadly metal by her head.

"Where are they?" I hissed

"I can assure you I haven't touched them...yet. You see, this is leverage and your reason why you're going to work for me. But honest to God, if you do kill me highly trained men will be coming after you with simple instructions and it's not to kill you. It's to kill your husband...Brian is it?... And your daughters Meadow and Adeya."

I moved the gun from her head putting it back in my back pocket, beginning to feel tears rush down my face as I turned away from her.

"Oh, you're going to want to work for me...It's the only thing that's going to keep your family alive. You're gonna betray your brothers and sisters, abandon your code, break your husband's heart and shatter your family." She ranted as I let silent tears rush from my eyes.

She had me backed against the wall with this one, I couldn't do anything there's no way out.

"I need you in Berlin tonight, you and Dom have some work to do. So the hubby's birthday is going to have to wait...You see, your team...Is about to go up against the only thing they can't handle."

"What's that?" I asked wiping my eyes

"You and Dom." She replied beginning to walk over to the driver's side of her truck.

"Planes going to pick you up at 4 am at the airstrip. Oh, and Diana, I wouldn't mention this to anyone...Brian included." She finished getting into her truck beginning to drive away.

I laid on Brian's shirtless chest and wanted to cry but couldn't. Every bit of my happiness was about to be ripped from me, one way or another.

I couldn't even eat earlier still unable to stomach the news I had been carrying with me ever since I got back to the condo and Brian was picking up on it.

"Baby, what's wrong? You barely touched your food and you've been different since you got home. What happened to my happy wife?" Brian said beginning to lean up in bed trying to cheer me up.

"I'm fine. Just wasn't hungry anymore." I replied forcing a smile

"I love you so much," I said making him smile brightly

"I love you too" He replied as I climbed over into his lap, fidgeting with my wedding ring, and said "Let's make love to each other...please"

"Thought you'd never ask." He replied softly kissing my lips gently.

I slowly tugged off his briefs and he pulled away from our intense kiss for a second removing his shirt that I wore, exposing my naked body.

He flipped us over gently, letting my back sink into the mattress as I rested my head against the pillows as he began to kiss my neck and bite my collarbone softly.

I reached underneath the comforter and grabbed his hard c.ock softly slid it in, letting out a soft little whimper before he began to thrust himself into me with back and forth motions.

"Fuck." He moaned as I clenched my walls around his length, I rested my hands on his shoulders and began to kiss him letting the fiery kiss overtake us both.

My body began to tremble slowly from what he was doing to me, with my body's only response being to lean my head into the pillows in pure bliss as I moaned loudly everything I felt in the moment.

"Look at me." He asked softly making me look back at him and rest my hands on his cheeks.

I then began to think about how I had to leave him in a few hours and how it was breaking me to the core.

Brian may give up on me, give up on waiting for me to come back home and he'll probably hate me so much after this. I know everyone else is. My soul was aching in unbearable pain but I'd rather them hate me and still be alive than die.

I'm not ready to let go, I'm not ready to tear our love down, I'm not ready to break the man that I love with all of my heart and soul.

Tears began to flow down my cheeks making Brian stop his movements completely and pull out, "Am I hurting you? Do you want me to stop?" He asked concerned for my well-being

"No. It just feels good." I sniffled biting down on my bottom lip

"Are you sure?" He asked, making me nod and plead "Please keep going."

He slid back in under my command and began to wipe my eyes softly, laying kisses all over my face.

"I love you." He said with a smile

I wrapped my arms around his back and said "I love you too, so much."

After slipping two sleeping pills into Brian's drink he finally fell asleep on my chest.

I wrapped my arms around him tightly and began to cry again, "I love you so much." I said lowly kissing his forehead

All I wished is that I could stop the flow of time at this moment, I wanted to protect him and my kids and this is the only way I could.

I had to leave my family and break my husband's heart.

I slipped from underneath him and softly moved out of bed, grabbing the duffle bag I packed while he was in the shower.

I then grabbed one of his shirts and flannels smelling his soft cologne on them before sliding them into my bag and then wrote him a letter sitting it on the kitchen counter.

Tears flooded my eyes as I took one last look at him as he slept then made my way out of the condo.
