"A witch?!" I exclaimed

"I didn't stutter." Mak walked ahead of me.

"I didn't think they were real." I pondered

"You didn't think vampires were real, now look at me," Mak said

He had a point.

"Virginia to New Orleans!? So a road trip!?" I exclaimed

"No no no, not a road trip buddy, a business trip." Malachi barged in glaring

I crossed my arms groaning annoyingly, Malachi always had to be the one to make stuff less fun.

"I have a car that could get us there," Marcie said

"You got a car? You sure you didn't compel an innocent?" Mak glared at his older sister.

She shot him an eye, "Come on Mak."

"No, you are not trusted."

"I'm helping you bring back the love of your life and his sister back, I already apologized to you and you still don't trust me?"

"I'm still you're sister." Her voice softens

Silence.

Milo barged in. "...Where is the car?" He gave a friendly look.

A small smile lit up on her face as she headed outside of the diner. "Stay close to me Rafe," Mak demanded

"Oh, this was your car!? It's so cool!" I stared amazingly at it.

"I took it from someone but they didn't mind." She smiled back.

The car was a black Chevrolet Tahoe. "I call dibs in the front!" I ran to the car just to get stopped by Marcus.

"I don't think so, buddy."

"I'm not five."

Marcus rolled his eyes sighing, "In the Back now."

I scoffed and opened the door. "Don't cry." Marcus sat in the front.

"Shut up," I replied

I eyed Mak and Milo to get inside the car. "Lighten up little bro," Milo noticed my facial expressions.

I rolled my eyes and stared out the window.

"Buckle your seatbelts in," Marcie said but mostly to me.

"You heard her." Malachi Smirked
...

"So-when's the last time you drove Marcie?" Mak asked

"Just a couple of hours ago."

"Would you say you're experienced?"

Marcie shot Mak a side-eye. "Please don't tell me that you'll be talking for the whole ride."

"I don't know if he will but I know that I am," Milo said

Marcie rolled her eyes getting ready to push the gas pedal. "Are you guys fucking ready?"

"Wait!" I yelled

"What!?"

"No snacks!?"

"For?" Marcie asked

"Me!--Just because y'all don't eat doesn't mean I don't!"

"Okay we'll stop at the store." she turns on the car engine.

"Wait!"

Malachi, Mak, and Marcus groaned annoyingly from my fuss.

"What!?" she asked again

"I need to use the bathroom."

"You humans are ridiculous," she replied groaning her head on the steering wheel.

"Not it." Malachi looked around

"Not it," Marcus said

"Come on Rafe." Mak opened the car door.

"Are you ready now Mak?" Marcie asked

"Yes," I replied eating some Doritos.

Marcie's eyes were glued to the road ahead, her focus on maintaining speed and avoiding other cars while also keeping track of the surrounding traffic. Her hands were steady as they gripped the steering wheel firmly. The sun was setting, casting an orange glow over the landscape.

Marcie's eyes flitted to the rearview mirror and she caught some chatter going on among her brothers and Rafe in the back seat. She felt a bit overwhelmed by the sounds of laughter and teasing coming from the back of her car.

"What are you guys laughing and talking about?" Marcie stares into the rear mirror

"We're talking about old memories of my sister, Rhea." Rafe chuckled

"Oh." She mumbles

"Well, What was she like?"

"A dummy, a Goofy person," Rafe answered her question

"Smart."

"Kind." Mak barged in

"An Understanding person," Milo spoke

"Trustworthy," Marcus said

"She was everything." Mak ended off by saying.

Marcie's face lits up slightly, "that's- very nice." She mumbles

"She would love to meet you, y'all probably would be best friends," Rafe said chuckling in the backseat.

"I'd hope so."

โœฅโœฅโœฅ

"Are we there yet?" Rafe asked

"No," Marcie replied

...

"Are we there yet?"

"No Rafe."

"What about now? Are we there yet."

"Shut the fuck up!" Malachi spat annoyingly

"Don't yell at him," Mak said

"No, he's annoying."

"You're annoying now shut it
up." Mak gave Malachi a cold glare.

"Wow," Marcie said while not keeping her eyes off the road

"What?"

She chuckled before speaking, "You guys must always do this." She shakes her head.

"Always fighting and arguing."

"Oh please," Malachi said

"I'm serious, y'all shouldn't be fighting like this, it's not good for health. We're siblings- we're supposed to love each other."

"Who are you again?" Mak glared

"You're older sister Mak." She eyed him through the mirror.

"My sister is the one who didn't ruin my life to become this."

Marcie stayed silent, absorbing the sting of Mak's accusation. The car was now silent, the earlier chatter and laughter having come to an abrupt end.

The air in the car had become tinged with tension and awkward silence. Marcie felt her stomach churn slightly as she struggled to process Mak's words.

The quietness felt deafening as she struggled to keep her emotions in check. Marcie felt her hands tighten on the steering wheel as she fought against a trembling grip. Her breath came out slow and steady.

"Mak-
Marcie struggled to get out.

Mak ignored her words and stared out the window.

....

"Well- Music anyone?" Milo breaks the silence

"Yes please," Rafe spoke without hesitation.
