-Chapter 124-
Syn and I walked through the doors confidently and all their eyes turned to us. My sister gasped as she saw my stomach and I rolled my eyes. Genesis and Lucifer were on their trip, but everyone else here besides Xavier looked either on edge or angry.
"You got her pregnant?!" Lilith yelled as she stood up.
"Sit the fuck down," I commanded.
"Who the hell do you thi-"
"Sit."
She looked around the room in shock and embarrassment but did as I said. Syn and I stopped at the head of the table and looked at everyone. "We all need to talk," he said.
Their eyes moved behind Syn and me and another wave of shocked gasps resonated through the room from Cain's arrival. "What are you doing here?" Lilith spewed in anger.
"I got hungry," he said with a shrug.
"Why are we here?" Julius asked.
"Because I know everything," Syn said. They all looked at one another like they had no idea what he was talking about and it took everything in me to not snap at them. "I know about the gun, everyone's plans to kill me, and how you all are involved."
"That's p-preposterous," Jonathan said as he stood up from his seat. "None of that is true."
"Xyla," I said as I turned to her. "Is it true?"
"Of course not," she said in a high-pitched voice as she glanced around the table.
"My mistake then, I overestimated you and forgot who you were. You're not capable of keeping such a big secret," I replied.
Her face turned red and she was the next one to stand up from her seat. "Fuck you, you didn't know about it so I don't think I did such a bad job." She immediately covered her mouth after practically confessing and I rolled my eyes.
I shook my head and turned to my father and Lilith. "How could you guys?"
My eyes landed on my father who looked pissed that his stupid plan wasn't going smoothly, and I wanted so badly to just kill him right then and there, but that wasn't the plan for tonight. We just needed the gun.
I couldn't speak to them anymore without getting angrier, so Syn began to speak up for me. "I expect you all to oblige by our requests or we'll be going to higher authorities."
Lilith laughed in her seat and I turned to her. "You think I can be stopped by 'higher authorities?" She asked as she finger quoted in the air.
"No, but you can be stopped by me," I said. "I'm not helping you resurrect my father either. Syn and I along with Cain will find a way on our own."
"You think I need your help to do that?" Lilith spat. "All I need is a heartbreak, little one." Her eyes moved to my stomach and a sly smile appeared on her face. "Maybe that daughter of yours can help me with that." My face fell when she mentioned my daughter. None of us mentioned the gender of the baby. Her knowledge could've only meant one thing...
she saw her.
It was bad enough that Syn's life was in danger because of her, but now my baby? I couldn't do it. I did what I hoped I wouldn't...and I snapped.
I muttered a chain of chants and the room around us darkened. A cloud of black smoke summoned by me entered the room and went directly towards Lilith. She stood up in fear in shook her head. "You wouldn't kill your mother, would you?" She asked in a fearful voice.
"You threatened my baby. You're no longer my mother."
I controlled the direction of the smoke and kept a blank face as it wrapped around her. She screamed and the rest of the table watched in fear. "The gun!" She yelled before the smoke could reach her face.
I stopped momentarily and raised my brow. "What about it?"
"You can't kill me, I have it!" She said.
I looked to Syn for guidance and he ran his hand through his hair. "Let her go. We can do this at any time."
I snapped my fingers and the smoke disappeared, making her drop to the floor with a loud thud. I closed my eyes and whispered another spell and Lilith screamed in pain as her arm cut itself into a symbol.
Syn glanced at her arm and back to me. "Power lock?"
I nodded. "Lucifer taught me." Lilith tried to reverse it and snap her fingers to leave, but the symbol I carved onto her glowed every time she tried to use her magic. She cried out as her attempts to use her abilities weren't working and I smirked at her. "I'll remove it once we have the gun. I'd go get it if I were you."
She sent me a glare as she stood up and scurried out of the room. I turned back to the table and Xyla sent me a disgusted look as I felt the rage flowing off of her in bucket loads.
"Why do you always want to one-up me, Queen?!" She screamed. "First I come here and then you come. You steal the man I'm supposed to marry and then get pregnant to steal my crown you selfish cunt! You even tried to steal Felix!"
Wow. I raised my brows in amazement at how self-absorbed she was. As if I would ever waste my life trying to take things from her. "Xyla please, for the last time...I've never made any moves on Felix."
Cain looked at the scene in amusement as he tried not to laugh and I shook my head.
"That's a lie," Felix said in an exasperated tone. "She tried to seduce me. I've told you this"
My mouth dropped at the blatant lie and Cain laughed aloud as he looked at me. "This just gets better and better."
"That's not true at all," I said. "I've rejected every single one of your advances along with the proposal."
"I don't believe you, you lying bitch!" Xyla screamed at me.
Oh, wow.
"Sit the fuck down before I kill you, Xyla!" Syn roared. She immediately did as he said and wiped her stray tears. "None of that bullshit matters. We're here about the gun and what you all attempted to do."
"We have some demands and as we mentioned, if they are not followed we have someone that will relay this information straight to God," I said as I referred to Adam. "We won't only be telling them about the gun. They'll know the truth about their honorable leaders of Eden."
They seemed more afraid of that than they did about the gun. I probably would be too if I was lying to the entire world about my true identity.
"What do you want?" Jonathan said through gritted teeth.
"The gun," Syn spoke up. "And for you all to step down from your throne in Heaven."
"That's insane!" Xyla yelled.
"Would you rather be executed when they find out that-"
"Okay." My father rubbed his temples. "We'll do it. Lilith is giving you the gun so all we need to do is step down," he said, giving Xyla an expression that silenced her.
"As for you two," Syn said as he looked at Felix and Julius. "You'll be stepping down as well, Julius. And Felix, you will never be King."
"I was planning to step down when you married Xyla," Julius said with a shrug. He looked like he didn't give a shit about what was happening at all.
"I'm not marrying Xyla," Syn said and I turned to him in shock. We hadn't discussed that at all so it was news to me as well. He looked at me and sighed. "The treaty is off."
"You can't do that!" Jonathan yelled. "We need a peace!"
"Then fucking create a new one!" He screamed. "Leave me the hell out of it."
"Syn..." I called. I knew the news about the gun was shocking, but his plan was always to take over the realms. I didn't want him to give up. It'd hurt to see him marry Xyla, but if it was necessary then I'd deal with it.
He shook his head and turned to me. "No, I'm not doing it. Someone asked me what I'd give up for you and I said everything, Queen. You mean the world to me so fuck it all."
My eyes watered at his words but I shook my head. "B-but what about-"
"We'll find another way," he insisted. "But for now, do you remember the favor you owe me?" I furrowed my brows and shook my head. We'd both done a lot for one another so I didn't know specifically what he was talking about. "From our library game. The one I won..." he said.
I glanced around the room as everyone kept a confused look on us. Xavier was the only one grinning and I had no idea why.
"Umm...yeah," I said as I turned back to him. "From the win that you conned me out of?"
"That's the one. I'd like to use it," he said.
"Is this the time?" I whispered as I looked around once more.
"Yes, it's very important."
"What's the favor?" I asked.
"Will you do it if I tell you?"
"Do I have a choice?"
"Ah, yes and no."
"What does that mean?"
"Can we get back to our conversation?" My father spoke up.
I looked away from Syn to turn to him and I shook my head. "Why are you like this?"
He sighed, shaking his head and muttering something under his breath. His eyes moved back to me, his face contorting into one of rage as he looked behind me. "No!" he roared. "I don't approve of this mess!"
I turned to where he was looking to see Syn on one knee with a velvet box and ring in his hand. My mouth dropped and I took a step back, blinking a few times to check if I was dreaming."I'd like to use my favor," he said as he took a shaky breath. "...for this."
I covered my mouth and broke out into tears at his words. Thinking back to that night in the library, I was terrified as I anticipated what he would ask me to do. I would've never thought he'd be using it to ask me to marry him.
"This is the time you start saying sweet shit to convince her," Cain said to Syn.
Syn glanced at him quickly. "Right," he cleared his throat and sighed. "I don't know what to say, Princess. But don't hold that against me." I laughed softly and he smiled up at me. "Umm, I promise I'll be a good husband and father? I-umm you know that...fuck this is hard," he said with a laugh. "I'm doing a shitty job, aren't I?" he asked in Xavier's direction.
I looked to Xavier to see him smiling at us and sobbing. He looked like a maniac, but it was adorable. "We- we...should've practiced more."
Syn sighed and looked back up at me nervously. I was surprised to see him fumbling over his words like this. He was generally a lot more confident in himself. He rubbed the back of his neck and cleared his throat once again. "Give me an answer? You're killing me here, Princess."
"You can't say no to a favor," Xavier yelled from his spot.
I laughed and shook my head. "Yes."
Syn looked startled by my answer and looked me in my eyes. "Yes you'll marry me or yes you can't say no to a favor?" He asked quickly.
"Both," I whispered.
He immediately stood up and I smiled as his lips crashed down onto mine. I cupped his cheeks and gave him sloppy kisses as tears continued falling down my face.
"You did not ask me for my blessing!" Jonathan yelled.
Syn pulled away from me and looked at him. "I asked her father."
I wiped my tears and looked at him in confusion. "You asked Adam? How?"
"When I saw him."
"And he said yes?" I asked. Syn nodded and I smiled. I hadn't met Adam yet, but if his judgment continued to be like this, I'd love him. He held his hand out for mine and I placed it into his as he took the ring out of the box.
"It's the other hand, lovebirds," Cain muttered.
"Oh," I quickly switched my hand and Syn slid the ring onto it. "Woah," I said as I studied it. It was a bright diamond, but the perimeter of it had the same ruby stone that was on the necklace he gave me. It was beautiful.
"I will be ruling Jeradua with Queen by my side, not Xyla," Syn said as he looked at Jonathan.
I looked at my father, but he looked defeated as he nodded. I guess he took Syn's threat about revealing secrets to God seriously, as he should've.
"Dad, say no!" Xyla screeched loudly. She turned to me with a tear-stained red face and I frowned. "You ruin everything!"
"Xyla calm down," my father said.
"No! Why does she get everything?! I was supposed to be the Queen! I was supposed to be the one getting married! Me! Not her!" She screamed in sobs as she pointed in my direction.
A few months ago I would've felt horrible for her, but I couldn't bring myself to anymore. She was a horrible person, she just did a good job at hiding it from me for all these years.
"You'll be Queen in Eden," my father assured her.
"I want it all!" Xyla screamed in a childish tone as she stomped her feet. She marched in my direction with intention and slapped me across the face. I was shocked by her actions, but I stopped Syn from stepping any further to hurt her. "I hate you! I'll kill you before I let you take everything from me," she threatened. She stormed out of the room and we were all left baffled.
"You guys should kill that bitch," Cain muttered. I shot him a 'really' look and he shrugged. "What? I'm saying what's on mine and that guy's mind right there," he said as he pointed to Xavier.
"Sounds about right," Xavier said with a laugh.
Julius stood up and clapped his hands together. "So I have a wedding to plan?"
"You just tried to kill me, why would I let you plan our wedding?" Syn asked as he wrapped an arm around me. I kept a hand on my cheek to alleviate the pain Xyla caused and remained quiet.
Julius sighed and shrugged. "I truly don't give a shit who becomes King any longer. As soon as this crap is over I'm out of here."
Felix's eyes widened and he sat up and looked at his father. "I thought you wanted me to become king."
"I did, but it seems that you can't handle things on your own. So I give up." Julius said to him before turning back to us. "When do you want the wedding?"
I looked to Syn and he shrugged. "It's up to you, Princess. I don't care." I frowned up at him and he sighed, catching what he had said. "I don't care when we get married, as long as we get married.
I smiled in understanding. "I'd like to get married before the baby comes."
"And when is that?" Julius asked.
I shrugged. "Three weeks, maybe?"
"I've never done a royal wedding in this short of a time," he said quietly. After a few moments, he nodded. "I can do it in one week."
I looked up at Syn and he nodded in agreement. I smiled and looked back at Julius. "Sounds good."
"Also, will the two of you be doing a binding ceremony?" He asked.
I had heard of the binding ceremony from Cleo. Essentially two people's souls would be bound together for the rest of eternity. Cleo did it with Caspian and Lucifer did it with Gen. The emotional attachment allowed them to be closer than ever, but I was hesitant about the death part.
If one partner were to be hurt, the other would be hurt in tangent. I knew Syn did some crazy things that I didn't have details on, but it concerned me a bit.
"Do you want to do it?" Syn asked me.
I thought about it. Did I want my soul to be stuck to Syn's forever? There were some negative sides to it, but there were more positive. I could finally read Syn without him having to speak to me, which was already incredibly difficult. He wouldn't be as alone as if I knew how he felt sometimes.
"Do you?" I asked.
"Umm...I do," he replied. "...but it's completely up to you."
I looked to Julius and nodded.
"We'll do it."
